asobi seksu I read whatever I want to... (considers herself special since she can read a lemon AND Mary Sues without gauging her out own eyes.) Things I avoid are Dirty Pair, AtoJirou, and anything that has to do with SanaYuki. :D I like OutsideSeigakuOCs, Parodies, and angst, since I like angst. I laugh at angst if it's OOC. -shot- XDDDDD Jul 19th 2008, 8:08am #51 |
Kemi-chii Hmm. . . for the genre, I would have to say romance and humor are the best! It would be fantastic if Tezuka-kun has to tell a lame pun. BWHAHAHA!!! I would soooo love that fic. If there is. =p Of course, romantic endings are what I fantasized most. I dunno why. 'Cause I'm. . . hopelessly romantic? Gaah. Poor me. -_- Haha. . .well, uhm, I'm sorry to tell 'yah but. . . I like het more than shounen ai's and yaoi's. . but anyway, I think it depends on the pairing involved. =] Oh, and yeah, I don't like super long stories. Especially if they're badly spaced. It's not because long stories are bad, it's because I'm too lazy to read on, because of the lengthy descriptions with words giving me nosebleeds. -_- sorry to be exaggerated. =p Complete stories would be better, but in-progress stories are fine. The thrill is there, that's why. Hmm. . .I think, when I'm still a newbie, I use to visit a lot of C2 community. But, later on, I came to use the filter than the C2's. Probably not all wonderful fics are in the C2's that's why. But, of course, the fandom matters! I explore a lot of fandom, but still, I can say that PoT fandom is my most favorite. =] .o.aKemi-chan.o. Oct 13th 2008, 11:15pm #52 |
Peridot Tears Any humor -- ESPECIALLY CRACK -- is preferable, but I like angst and tragedies the most; I like to read and write with those genres. I mostly search for Perfect Pair (actually, that's ALL I search for) but I overally like any fic as long as it's well-written. Cliche things won't really satisfy me, unless I like to read one. I normally don't read OC stories, but I've found one that's really good. I don't like AtoKaba, but other pairings are okay. YukiSana, TezuFuji, Golden Pair, KiriSaku, KiriAn, KamioAn, Tango Pair, RyoSaku, and AtoTezu are preferable. I dislike incest. I just skim through summaries and titles, to see if the writer is good -- depending on the grammer. I'm picky with plots, really x] The story type doesn't matter to me; it just has to be good enough. Nasty Evil Dead Dog TORISHISHI.... LEMON. LIME. 8D Oct 22nd 2008, 2:11pm #54 |
elusivemelody The title catches my eye first, then the pairing, then the summary before looking back at the title to decide if the fic was worth it. :D Pairings would be... mainly Perfect but almost anything related to Fuji is fine. As for the genre, ANGST! Then romance and humor... I don't usually look at the genre though, unless I use the filter. But most of the time I just scan through the newly-updated stories and read whatever catches my eye. I love AU, somehow or other, and all the multi-chaptered fics I tried writing (but deleted even before they were published) were on an AU setting. Ohmigosh, did anyone read a TezukaOishiFuji pairing story in which Tezuka and Fuji are vying for Oishi's love. -freaks- I didn't even bother touching that. No offence to Oishi-lovers out there but I really find Oishi character quite extra and annoying and I think that Kikumaru deserves someone better than Oishi such as Fuji. The only reason why it caught my eye because at that time that person kept updating. I don't really like fics which circle the love life of Sakuno and Tomoka as well. I'm fine towards Fujicest, Royal, Pillar and fics which don't star characters from Rikkaidai or Seigaku. But I don't usually read them unless the summary somehow catches my eye. -.- Aug 18th 2009, 6:38am #55 |
mysteriously.mesmerized Humor/Crack fics. ^^ They're certainly very entertaining. The first pairing I ever got corrupted into was ToFu. :) So I have an unusual preference for that pairing. I normally look for oneshots, (or complete stories, for that matter) only because most of the authors take forever to update. An active fic only occurs but once in a while. Regarding the genre, angst would be very enjoyable to read indeed. (Oh my, I've only just realized that whenever I write a (non-requested) pairing, it almost always revolves around Fuji. o.o Especially a Fuji with a sad past. XD) Aug 25th 2009, 9:34am #56 |
PynkPlayar I love humor/crack stuff. Good gen fics are very hard to come by too. I super fan RyoSaku, but am drowning in the cliche-ness of it all and have, thus, pretty much given up since it seems like I've read all that's worth reading already. :) Nov 24th 2009, 3:20pm #57 |
AniManGa19930 Hmm...I usually only search for TezuFuji, SanaYuki, YanaKiri, or crack!JaBun...if there isn't...then any Rikkai with Orthodox pairings... On note, I won't ever click an SomeonexOC or Seigaku's Brat's (no offense to his fans, but I just totally hate him) Mar 08th 2010, 5:53am #58 |
 iPurpleBerri Rikkai!Crack is totally WIN. 8D On note, I won't ever click an SomeonexOC or Seigaku's Brat Oh, how I love this line. It's so true~ ♥ Mar 09th 2010, 6:58am #59 |
 AniManGa19930 @iPurpleBerri: True~ It never ceased to amuse me~ Rikkai is totally a crack team XDXD And...Glad to know someone agreeing :) Mar 09th 2010, 4:19pm #60 |
Nasty Evil Dead Dog This would be wrong but... smut. And of course, I also like well-written AUs and bromance fics. I haven't read any PoT fanfics lately, and I hardly know about the fandom now. ;___; Care to recommend some? Apr 03rd 2010, 9:27am #61 |
Yellow Gummybear I LOVE ANGSTY FANFIIIICS~ ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT MAKES ME CRY~ ♥ I also love Perfect Pair~ But some other pairs are also nice, like Golden Pair, Adorable Pair, Royal Pair, Thrill Pair, Pillar Pair, Rhythm Pair, etc. Jul 12th 2010, 7:57am #62 |
NDebN What do i look for in PoT fanfic: 1. It has to be well written, it doesn't matter how much lemon, mary sues it has as long as it's well written then I'm very forgiving. 2. I mostly look for stories that are over 5000 words and even better when they are completed, very bad at waiting for a fic to be completed -stares at her own uncompleted fics- 3. I'm over obsessed with Thrill pair, Pillar pair and royal pair. Have a weird obsession with YukiRyo, JirRyo and SanaRyo.Also like OT3(TezXRyoXFuji), OT5 and OT6. Also I think AtoXRyoXTez would be interesting, not that I've seen any. 4. I absolutely avoid fics where Ryoma is a female, or any of the characters become females. Only read one and in that fic Ryoma is a hermaphrodite, that one was okay, but still my skin started to crawl even if it was slightly, I was very happy that it was okay written else I would have stopped when I got to that point ._. 5. I don't really read Hetro centric fics in PoT, on occasions when I like a summary I'll try and I'll run away screaming if I feel my skin crawl. Lol I know normal people's skin will crawl because of Yaoi, not in my case XD 6. I don't read TezFuji fics, since I feel sorry for Ryoma and if he ends up with Momo because of that I feel even more sorry for him hehehe ^^; 7. I thought I had another but it seems I don't so this is it hehehe ^^ Feb 21st 2011, 12:06pm #63 |
Lissie Lupin Here's my list, bishis~ ~If the grammar makes my eyes bleed, it's a total turn off ~If it's a multi-chapter fic, I usually look for 2K per chapter on average ~The summary's gotta be interesting, bishi ~Fem!Niou will make me love you ~Angsty!Niou will make me love you ~Niou Masaharu in the story automatically makes it rock, that being said ~Niouke makes it even better ~YanagiNiouke lands it in my favorites easily(MaruHaruke and SanadaNiouke totally work too) ~Platinum Pair kinda turns me off, go figure... (Come and get me fangirling bishis~!) ~Despite loving Fem!stories and being a writer of Fem!stories, I tend to avoid Fem!Ryo because the majority of them suck ~Sakuno is a major turn off ~I really only read hetero if it's genderbended(total fave is YanagiFem!Niou) ~That seems to be it bishis~ Apr 26th 2011, 5:28pm . Yokuseithehedgehog I avoid Het fics. To me they are a turn off and disgust me. The only fics I read have shounen-ai, yaoi, or just friendship/family. If a story has a Ryoma pairing I will only read it if it's Thrill pair. I'm very dedicated to my OTP and refuse to read anything else. (OT3,5,6 are okay but I generally don't read them.) Friendship fics are great because they usually don't have a pairing. I don't read femryo or fem-any-other-character because that to me just makes you seem close minded about yaoi that you have to make it het. I don't really read fics with lots of Atobe and if I read Rikkai it's probably a mix of HaruMaru, HaraMaru, or HaruMaruHara. I like when they stories have good spelling. Jul 26th 2011, 7:59am #65 |
tsukinoyume11 I prefer to read romance, adventure, OCs stories and ones with good tennis matches. I don't really care whether the story is in progress or complete. But I might not pick up a story if it was in progress and not updated for a long time. I never use C2 community but I guess I could try in the future. I can't stand read yoai, yuri or ultra weird parings. So far there has only been one exception to that rule because the other elements in the story were far too interesting. Whenever I use the filter, which I do frequently, I always look at the summary and pairing. It's pretty easy to tell the quality of the story just by summary and number of reviews. Lissie Lupin I look for a well-written story, and I don't care how long it is, but I do care if it's really short. Incredibly short oneshots really annoy me for some reason. I tend to avoid het!OC stories because the OC is most likely a Sue or Stu, and I can't stand that. Sorry, but I just have to negate this: It's pretty easy to tell the quality of the story just by summary and number of reviews. How does the number of reviews tell the quality is the story. I've seen plenty of amazing stories that have less than ten reviews because no one bothers to leave one. In reality, they have a ton of views and a bunch of faves and alerts. On the other hand, there are a bunch of terribly written, completely OOC, a bunch of MS and GS, and just down right awful fics with a handful of loyal reviewers who review every chapter, so they have review counts in the twenties and thirties. I don't mean to offend you or anything, but I just don't understand how someone can think that way. The review count is the last thing I look at. If anything, I look to see what kind of reviews are being left. May 10th, 3:53pm #67 |

It's really hard to look for something I want to read. So the fastest way to search to is to see if the # of reviews exceeds the chapters of the story(unless its a oneshot). I admit that I might miss some good reads but I got tired from clicking on a story every time the summary looks acceptable but the story wasn't really good. I used to search for over 30 minutes and I still couldn't find a story that interests me. May 10th, 10:04pm #68 |
