Dudly Another Your Story! I'm pretty sure Prince of Tennis influenced everyone here life... even if only slightly. So here is the place to confess what things Prince of Tennis made you do! Exemple: Damn PoT OVA on YouTube stopped for a while getting subbed... so I took up Japanese! And, I must add that I also started learning tennis... Just because of Tennis no Ouhjisama (tennis never appealed to me before...) So, what did YOU do, "Just because of PoT"? Jul 01st 2007, 9:30pm . Edited Aug 24th 2007, 4:27pm #1 |
awintea I tried to learn tennis too. xD Tried being the keyword. I can kind of hit the ball back now when somebody serves to me. ^___^I also started reading/writing gay pairings, which didn't really appeal to me before. xD But with PoT... it's near inevitable, the only girl that would be in a good, non-cracky pairing being Sakuno ... or an OC... =P Jul 03rd 2007, 5:12am #2 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain I took up tennis becasue of PoT. Tennis was like a non-existing sports to me before I started getting into PoT.Youtube is blocked off after 8 P.M. everyday (except Saturday) on my computer, so I went looking through hundreds of sites to look for one where I could watch PoT for free online. I started being obsessed with yaoi pairings. It never appealed to me before. Now I can't stand it if any fanfiction I read doesn't have Boy's LOve in it. Because of being obsessed with yaoi, I started reading Loveless. xD Only read the first manga so far though. I went through thousands of sites for PoT stuff. I gave into temptation into making an acount after reading PoT fanfics. And many more things happened to me because of PoT. Too many to list. xD Jul 13th 2007, 1:44pm #3 |
awintea OOH I read the first Loveless volume too because of the whole 'Yay for BL' thing too xD Jul 13th 2007, 2:06pm #4 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain xDDDOh yeah, because I was obsessed with PoT, I watched the Live Action movie and some of the musicals. I became obsessed with some of the boys. And I watched Aiba-chan and Saitou's Sukimoto, even if I didn't understand what they were saying. It's Boy's Love! Spread it! xD Jul 13th 2007, 2:15pm . Edited by Dudly, Jul 13th 2007, 5:04pm #5 |
Petenshi-Mikage PoT OVA made me start reading the manga (which I didn't do earlier *GASP*)Just because of PoT I had my hair Cut like Gakuto :0 (>__> yes D:) Just because of PoT I think All musicals are awesome. JUST BECAUSE OF TENIMYU I LIKED ACTORS Just because of PoT I leared how to read more kanji :0 Nov 19th 2007, 2:57am #6 |
Petenshi-Mikage *sorry for double post*Have you seen the one with Nagayan and Aiba on it? :0 (It was a play called Switch I think) Nov 19th 2007, 2:58am #7 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain I've heard of it. Been watching to see that play, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Nov 19th 2007, 12:40pm #8 |
 Petenshi-Mikage animemusicstore @ livejournal.com has it uploaded~ *didn't download yet because I has no more disk space -__-;;* Nov 22nd 2007, 2:42am #9 |
Fayah I started becoming more interested in tennis and trying harder in class, which made me whoop everyone's butts ;DMy whole tennis class (or at least the girl's side) are a bunch of slackers And PoT also made me get into BL as well as drag Ketchup into BL It also made Marshmellow and thy (she is a person! Just with an oddly spelt name, no caps on first letter) start a religion after it called tenipurism. I'm the priest ;D Nov 24th 2007, 8:54am #10 |
awintea Tenipurism. Hm. Sounds horribly intriguing. XD Yay BL! =) And good about the tennis thing. I don't know why I'm responding to everything in your reply backwards XD Nov 24th 2007, 9:20am #11 |
Eternal.Angel Welcome to the forum, Tsuki-san!I want to learn tennis. *sigh* And...awin-chan. It's ok, we understand. *pats back* XDD Nov 24th 2007, 9:54am #12 |
Fayah Yeeeees, it is very very interesting ;DWe initiate new members by spraying Ponta over them...and we have a forum! :D You can't beat that. Don't worry, I reply in a random order, it's all normal :) And tennis is fun. Of course, you can't expect it to kill dinosaurs or for you to control the spin so much as to make every person's ball sucked towards you, but it's very interesting and thrilling nontheless. Nov 24th 2007, 9:56pm #13 |
 Petenshi-Mikage Makes me remember that Doujin I read. Tezuka whirlpool wtf. Nov 24th 2007, 10:08pm #14 |
Little Nemo PoT cemented my love for yaoi and made me get into tennis for like two seconds before I gave up. I'm just no good at sports. Oh, xD it's probably the only fandom I've written in without deleting the entire story out of disgust. Nov 25th 2007, 12:17am #15 |
awintea That's good then, Shin-chan. XD Feel free to yell at me if you don't like the name. XD I'm no good at sports either! Nov 25th 2007, 9:03am #16 |
Fayah Aww, it doesn't matter if you guys stink at first. Everyone does. You can't expect to be like Fuji, you just have to work your way up Nov 25th 2007, 9:09am #17 |
Little Nemo I don't mind Shin-chan/Shin-san xDDDD(Bwahahahahah Death...*sniggles*)I'm terrible at tennis. I can barely hit the ball half the time. I doubt I'll get better. I mean, I trip over thin air. No coordination, whatsoever. Worse than Anime!Sakuno. On a side note, I was interested enough in tennis to actually watch a tennis match on TV xDDDD. The first time ever that I watched a sport of all things on TV. Nov 25th 2007, 11:20pm #18 |
Fayah Don't worry, EVERYONE is like that at first. I fear standing behind new people in my class since they let the ball through most the time. But they all get better, I've seen it. I've been through it.Tennis matches are interesting...but kinda get boring after a while. I think PoT has made me expect glowing and supernatural moves too much XD Nov 26th 2007, 12:14am #19 |
Little Nemo Don't forget the uber hot boys(Odd how I find anime guys 'cute' or 'hot' and fangirl over them but with real life guys, even if they're hot, I just go 'meh'. xD I think I'm asexual). The uber hot boys is what makes the tennis really special. I mean, all of the tennis matches with the well, average(notsohot) looking boys in PoT don't have the supernatural glows that you've come to expect. Konomi is catering to our fangirl needs. xD Nov 26th 2007, 12:27am #20 |
Fayah Haha...there's no hot players in the circuit that I've seen. Although there was a guy that looked a lot like Shishido XD Nov 26th 2007, 1:00am #21 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain O_O A guy that looks a lot like Shishido? Wow. xDNya~ Tennis is fun, and you improve if you practice a lot. When I made the tennis team at school, I could barely play, but after having practice practically everyday after school and games, I became a better player. (Although I think I've probably gotten rusty after not playing when the season ended...) Nov 27th 2007, 12:56pm #22 |
Iluxia (Ooooh, forum-ing is fun.)What PoT did to me? Err, apart from getting me to endlessly spazz over Shirotan and Kanata and Kazuki and teh rest of teh live crew, well, PoT provided me a way of raising the bar for my writing standards. Naruto served as the first rung of the ladder; PoT as the second, and possibly even third (since I'm nowhere near stopping right now). It's pretty addicting, even if at first I was apprehensive (because I tended not to prefer sports anime and stuck to the fantasy/slice-of-life/mecha stuff -- DON'T COMPLAIN; ATHRUN AND KIRA ARE LOVE). And yeah, PoT served as my anchor into the yaoi world. I was only partially submerged before PoT, but damn, who can resist Pillar Love and Thrill Love and Royal Love? Oh, and there's YukiRyo too, btw. >.>;; Jan 03rd 2008, 9:44am #23 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain Thrill Love~~~ XD Actually, the first boyxboy fic I read for PoT was Pillar Pair, not Thrill. But I'm a Thrill Shipper. XD (Of course you all know that by now... XD) I was actually avoiding this series before I picked it up. o0 I dunno why. I just thought that it was going to be boring and all. But that day at the bookstore, I was in a weird mood, and it just bothered me if I didn't at least read the first volume. Boy, did I become addicted. ai nante kimi nashi ja imi naiyo ikirarenai~ IT WON'T GET OUT OF MY HEAD. Jan 03rd 2008, 12:18pm #24 |
Kyoka-BOO xD I think the boy love is what attracts 90% of PoT fans. I've found yet another series just to drool over. It's a Jdrama called Yasha. One of the main characters reminds me of Shirota Yuu (with glasses ^^) It's just the most awesome. Ito Hideki is the guy who plays the character... swear he's the spitting image of Shirota. Jan 03rd 2008, 12:22pm #25 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain XD I shall look it up on crunchyroll or whatever.Actually, I think that Ikutsu Tohma (sp? I don't remember his full name) looks a lot like Shirota... Like his younger brother or something. Jan 03rd 2008, 12:30pm #26 |
 Kyoka-BOO Toh-ma.... *hearts*http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-YPfBY8kto&feature=related It's the opening theme. Jan 03rd 2008, 12:45pm #27 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain MATRIX.XD It looks interesting... I'll check it out later. But, you know, I -did- burst out laughing when the slow motion started. ._. Jan 03rd 2008, 12:51pm #28 |
Kyoka-BOO Matrix? xDD Kind of. It's about a pair of genetically altered twins that were separated at birth. One of them went to America and became a biochemist and came back to Japan to investigate an illness that was spreading across the island and accidentally came across his twin brother. And since the experiment on the twins was to see the extent DNA can extend potential, they were both born with increased strength, a high IQ, and supernatural powers. I'd suppose the strength is why they can do flips on the wall? xD Jan 03rd 2008, 1:00pm #29 |
Sweet Obsidian Rain XD Ohhhh... I find stories like that amusing to watch.'Cause there are like so many plots that have the same storyline. Or at least the just of it. I wish I could do that, doing flips off walls, I mean. XD Jan 03rd 2008, 1:10pm #30 |
Kyoka-BOO I think it would be fun. And useful. I actually have a friend who can semi-do that. Except he can't do the back flips.Anyways, I like plots like that. It's sci-fi, but not the stereotypical type. I like the sort that take place in the modern world and that most people don't know about it. I think it's interesting. And usually, I prefer backdrops that don't include aliens. Jan 03rd 2008, 1:12pm . Edited Jan 03rd 2008, 1:13pm #31 |
crassreine PoT made me write fanfics. Still not sure if that's a good thing, or a bad thing. Once I started, it ate my brain. Haven't written anything original in a while. Before PoT I had declared to never, ever, ever, write fan fiction. Just proves that you really should never say never. And it also made me interested in tennis. To watch. Too lazy to actually play any kind of sports. Feb 08th 2008, 1:00pm #32 |
SilverCyanide Because apparently I haven't posted here yet...-I changed my pen name. (Previously bubblesrule1, and I don't even know why.) -I revived my account. (Registered in fifth grade, stayed around for a week, died off, and then came back the summer between sixth and seventh grade.) -I talked my friends ear off, all about PoT. -I scarred my friends minds. -I tried to convert them. -I became broke. -I decided that I wanted to take up tennis. But I kinda don't have any time (swimming, school, violin, fanfiction, HOL, etc.). So I just have fun playing pickle ball in gym and pretending I know what I'm doing. And, of course... I learned of the wonders of shounen-ai and yaoi. Beforehand, I never even knew it existed. I admit, when I first came back I was the one who encouraged the Suethors. I told them that the flamers were stupid, that the story was good, etc. (Funny how much we change, isn't it?) But after a few months of that, I slowly began to see the light. I began to realize that uh...the fics were really bad. And slowly I found my way into the section known as yaoi and shounen-ai. I had seen it around, but it never registered or if it did I thought it was gross. Oh yes. Some people change a lot. ;P Feb 23rd 2008, 7:14pm #33 |
Dudly /KA/ encouraged Suethors? xDD(That's lame. It's hard to put more emphasis on KA, because it's already capitalized. -sigh-) I wouldn't have thought... xD I liked crappy fics too, when I first came by. Perhaps it takes some time for our brain to register the difference between good and bad...? I also discovered Shounen Ai when I came around POT. Before, I was around Sailor Moon (because, yes, I love the anime to bits!) and I was a fan of -true love- (MamoUsa, can you get a truer love? xD) But then, I saw that het was badly written. ^^' And that, even though I felt awkward reading shounen ai, the writing style was -still- better. I was like, "Gosh, I don't like to read BL. I guess I'll get used to it someday..." Guess what? XD I did get used to it. xD Feb 23rd 2008, 9:29pm #34 |
Eternal.Angel POT made me look for all its related things (anime, OVAs, manga, etc) and then come here to FF when I was bored of the original thing. XD Feb 24th 2008, 8:10am #35 |
disfigured-dream POT introduced me to yuushi<3 till I saw him playing the violin, my fave character was Atobe, from there, it was just one step to reading my very first yaoi fic (Oshi-Ato)... Before POT, I loathed yaoi, despite never having read any before. Now... can't imagine a single fic without yaoi, and I feel uncomfortable reading het pairings in POT fanfiction. Plus it started me off reading yaoi manga eg Hybrid Child, Antique Bakery. Cos yaoi is just that much sweeter than het.Which is why its sad that Prince of Tennis is ending. [spoiler eaten up by the spoilermonster XD] Feb 29th 2008, 4:40am . Edited by awintea, Feb 29th 2008, 1:22pm #36 |
MelOhNeee Pot mad me-Take up tennis (am still practicing, but will only play recriational, perfers basketball ><) -Look up every single thing on all the characters 10.5,20.5,40.5) -watch Tenimyu -improve my japanese -write fanfiction/dream novels -download 200 songs from prince of tennis( really XD I did) -livejournal ( I finally started going on live journal just for information) cant think of anything else XD but POT changed my life haha Mar 08th 2008, 11:12am #37 |
The Night Owl is Addicted Uh, I think PoT made me write fanfiction. XDAlso, PoT: -JMade me join this forum. -Helped me adore Yaoi even more -Made me watch Tenimyu, which escalated into liking other Jdramas, that I never even thought of watching before. -I got a Photobucket account just so that I could show off my sucky drawings... And some other stuff that I can't be bothered to search for in my haze filled mind. XD Mar 09th 2008, 3:54am #38 |
Anzu29214 Well, I was inspired to play tennis which I'm not pretty good at but I can hit the ball at least. Before I thought tennis was boring but when I saw the awesome moves they showed I fell in love. Now, I mostly think of tennis and always whine about wanting to play. I even started my own tennis club! I'm the president and so far lots have joined. Can't believe one anime could change a person's life. Mar 11th 2008, 5:52pm #39 |
chibiwarri0r POT MaDe me CRY!!! on the episode when ryoma came back to japan to have a match with tezuka...POT, it inspired me to write fan-fics....but i really don't know why atobe as the main character came up to my mind.......that monkey!!! Mar 26th 2008, 6:50am #40 |
Ahotep What did to me? - Made me write again. - Made me watch anime again after a rather long 10 years pause. - Made me want to learn japanese. - Helped me to understand the rules of the game. - Made me get close to my brothers who are playing tennis. - Made me spend money on manga something would never have done before... Apr 10th 2008, 12:15pm #41 |
The Night Owl is Addicted Ooh, PoT also made me want to read manga... more than I already did... Actually, I wasn't that into manga before, but after knowing that PoT had manga, I tried to search for internet sites that have it... And now, I love manga as much as I love anime... (There is a difference, I swear! XD) Apr 11th 2008, 4:20am #42 |
reckless-rage Pot made me love tennis. And actually understand a bit. And PoT made me love shounen ai. XDD Apr 11th 2008, 4:24am #43 |
finding PoT made me see shonen-ai in a completely different light XD It also made me jealous of my friends who got to learn tennis. And helped me to see the beauty of crack. XD Apr 14th 2008, 7:38am #44 |
The Night Owl is Addicted I just realized that PoT made me appreciate a sports anime turned musical. XDDD And I liked it so much that it also helped in my corruption of loving Japanese actors and actresses (usually actors). :D Ah, yes, PoT is a wonderful source of crack fics!! Apr 29th 2008, 12:18pm #45 |
hakkaisensei What happened to me? Well, I discovered Japanese musicals, been introduced to a whole lot of other anime series (the others that I've seen before this wouldn't fill the tiniest Post-It), and I've revived my interest in shounen ai (brought to you for the first time by "Gravitation") All in all, not bad. May 01st 2008, 5:35am #46 |
Nasty Evil Dead Dog I guess PoT does some good to me... I also tried learning tennis and it turned out bad- I got so lazy and stopped XD I got over my fear of feathers(XD) when I found out Gakuto collects feather ornaments. And, started watching romance movies because Oshitari likes them... Oh, and I also started watching tennis shows. May 22nd 2008, 9:51pm . Edited May 23rd 2008, 9:44pm #47 |
finding I actually listen to the sports news now, to the Tennis Open. Some Russian beat some American yesterday. "xD May 23rd 2008, 9:05pm #48 |
 reckless-rage PoT made me love BL. Have I said this before? May 24th 2008, 2:50am #49 |
 kuraberri pot changed my life in 10001 ways. lol ^^ still love pot. WHERE's OVA 20? Jun 08th 2008, 12:05am #50 |
