SlyrrRetraction: Brent Spiner and Micheal Dorn (He did play Rufus 3000, afterall) can act too, unfortunately Jonathan Frakes lucklustre performance tended to overshadow everyone else.... And there was the whole Wil Wheaton/Wesley Crusher thing. Talk about the 'anakin skywalker' of TNG ;) A kid who everyone sucks up to as some kind of brillaint prodigy, destined for greatness and wonder. But in reality was nothing but a whiney, snivelling emo pus-bucket who never did anything right and was dropped from the series like the block of wood that he was... Sorry to sound harsh, but I saw no purpose for him whatsoever and the episodes in which he did appear seemed just... tacked on. The Borg seemed to assimilate human laziness into their collective after Wolf 359. That was pretty much the last decent Borg episode, other than when Archer met the remnants from First Contact in Enterprise. There are just some enemies that should remain mysterious and unknowable. Heh heh - assimilated laziness - that was great.... Though if you factor in the 'Hugh' episode of the Borg, I think that was probably the one in which human laziness infected the Borg. And Picard said that human 'individuality' was perhaps the most pernicious virus they could use to infect the Borg.... |
screaming phoenixI think why they de-clawed theBorg is that they didn't know what to do with them. With all the other races Klingon, Romulan etc.. they were up against expanding empires who wanted the same real estate. You can have truces, cease-fires, etc. with them. The Borg was elemental; kill or be killed, be assimilated or destroy them. I don't think they had the will , the backing, or the inclination for that kind of story line. |

DarevI don't know why people down Enterprise so much. It was a refreshing break from the usual high and mighty Starfleet the series has been known for. IT's nice that humans don't have all the answers and are usually on the receiving end of a smackdown for once. TNG was too boring for me--though Picard is my fav captain and the Enterprise D and E are my favorite ships. DS9 blew me away with the war with the Dominion. The best space battles outside of a movie theater. It also reminded me a lot of Babylon 5, my favorite sci-fi series of all time. The Ferengi and Cardassians made that show. Some of my fav personas, Quark, Odo, Kira, Nog, Martok, Weyoun, Garak and Duhkat made it the best trek of them all. Voyager had its moments. Seriously guys, Seven of Nine alone does not carry a series. She's hot, we get it, but she's just one person. IF that's all Voyager had going for it then it was freakin' flop. TOS was hit or miss for me. It should have been called Kirk saves the Universe or the Terrible Trio (Kirk, Spock, McCoy) with the other charcters just hanging in the background there. The new movie was pretty good, though it still bugs me that both Vulcan and Romulas are annihalated while Earth keeps spinning. I can't believe they chose that alternate route. I'd love to see how the Federation fares without Earth. That would have made for a better twits in the series. |

Sacred White PhoenixWhile everyone seems love Star Trek, I prefer Stargate. Now that is a science fiction show, which I say is better then Star Trek or any other science fiction show out there. I never really did get into Star Trek as much as anyone else here. |

Joe StoppinghemTwo Texas were in a bar. First Texan said, "Hey, what do you think of Budda?" Second Texan replied, "Budda? What do I think of Budda? Hmm, Budda. I guess Budda's OK. Budda is alright. Yea, I like Budda. Margerine good too though." Yea I like Star Gate SG1, the other two Star Gates didn't grab my attention, not sure why. They may be like Star Trek Enterpise, wasn't wild about it at first, but when a rerun shows up I might be entised to check it out. Back to Star Trek, I do enjoy all of them. By the way, has anyone see the recent movie? My 11 year-old son would like to see it, but my take is if it's PG-13 there is a reason for it. We will be going to Harry Potter Half Blood Prince when it comes out this summer. Thanks |

Samurai CrunchbirdFolks, I am quite surprised at all of you. With all this talk of its different incarnations, NONE of you have mentioned the LATEST Star Trek spinoff... ... ... (Puzzled looks from the audience) ... ... ...You know, the one on the 'E' Network... ... ... (Shrugs and more puzzled looks from the audience) ... ... ...Oh come on, now... ... ... ...Haven't you ever heard of 'Keeping Up With The Cardassians'?? | #556 May 26th, 9:41am . Mr. WizardYou know, you can hurt someone badly, making them laugh like that. I'm 0 for 3, any idea when I can finish my sweep? |
Joe StoppinghemCome to think of it, Bruce Jenner does look like Gul Dukat in the right light, or lack of it. |
Eddy13Yo, Z. Not to be rude, but what's holding up the rest of the Fannies? You have another problem or something? |
TexasDadEddy13, you are being rude. Jason will get to the Fannies when he is able. |
Eddy13Any word from Z on when the Fannies will conclude? |
Mr. WizardI'm just hoping that nothing is wrong on the home front. |
Eddy13I hope Z is okay. I'd hate for us to lose him like we lost Commander Argus. |
Eddy13I'm still worried about Z. I do hope he's okay. I'd also like to see how the Fannies end. |
Eddy13It's been over a month now. Where are you, Z? Alot of us are getting worried. |
captainkodak1It has been almost two months since we have heard anything from Zaratan. Has ANYONE had any contact with him. I feel like I am going to get flamed for asking this. But at what point do we stop waiting and work out some other avenue as in another vote? Will all the members of the committee drop me a note and give your thoughts? |
FortressMaximusHas anyone who knows him RL checked up on him? I seem to recall last year when he was offline for a computer problem someone on the group mentioned they called him RL and got the info about that. If nothing else, can we contact FF.N admin and see if they can somehow get in touch with him based on the info they have on file just as a precautionary measure? |
Jurnee JakesI've got his number. Maybe I'll check up on him in the next few days. |
Star-Eva01Jurnee Jakes says: I've got his number. Maybe I'll check up on him in the next few days. Jurnee, I got a request from cpneb. He would like you to e-mail him the number you have for Z. His address is: cpneb at cremosp dot com Thanks. I sure that I can speak for a lot of us here as I say we are starting to worry about the fellow. Star | #569 Jul 06th, 11:48am . Star-Eva01Dang, I had to edit the above post 5 times to get the e-mail address to show up...... |
Sentinel103Capt I've tried to reach him several times on Skype. It says he's on, but he's not responding. I hope he's OK. ST 103 |

Joe StoppinghemWith his father's heart surgery, I feel this is taking most of his time. Justifiability, I will add. (We all agree on personal priorities.) Z' if you've run across these latest messages, we are getting worried about you. Hope everything is going well with you and your father. Joe |
Eddy13Unbelieveable. I've been voicing my worry about Z many times and nobody paid attention, but when a veteran writer says it, everyone starts showing up! |
Sentinel103Eddy I talked to him about a month ago on Skype right when he was posting the first part of the Fannies. He told us that he had a new computer and everything was fine. Ya gotta take a guy at his word....Though I plan on gettin his phone number...I can call Canada for nothing. I do it all the time anyway. ST 103 |
Jurnee JakesHe's aparently got his own apartment in town now, so things can't be too bad. I'll try him again tonight, but rest assured that not everything that keeps him from the boards has to be a bad thing. Maybe he's visiting family, maybe work's keeping him busy, maybe he's got a girl. The man's entitled to a life of his own, and I'm sure if his interest in the KP franchise continues, he'll be back eventually. |

Star-Eva01Eddy 13 says: Unbelieveable. I've been voicing my worry about Z many times and nobody paid attention, but when a veteran writer says it, everyone starts showing up! Eddy, Z has disappeared before. And always it's been something important. Yes, a number of folks here, and in other places\ways have expressed worry over him. With the news of Commander A's death, this time everyone is a little more jumpy. |
Mr. WizardUnbelieveable. I've been voicing my worry about Z many times and nobody paid attention, but when a veteran writer says it, everyone starts showing up! Sorry, that's just how that goes. It had been almost entirely you for a while. You did keep the thread going, there's something to be said for that. #573 Today, 1:46pmrender_actions(845559,329,11745631,16542755,0,1,12, 1375522); |

cpnebJurnee Jakes: if you have a moment, pls send me Z's phone number at cpneb at cremosp dot com. I'll give him a ring this weekend. We're not trying to intrude on his live, but are more concerned with him.... ...cpneb |
SlyrrI've been kind of worried too. Though if the theory that he might have a GIRL he's seeing is accurate, I can totally understand him disappearing for a while. I know I would ;) But don't feel bad, Eddy - I asked a few times in threads here and there, and I didn't get much answer either. Just one of those things I guess. I hope he's OK. If it were something serious, we might have heard by now. Has the time come to start an official "Where is Zaratan?" thread? We could post all our wild speculation there, including a 'Top 10' list of positive reasons why he's not posting, like 1) Won the lottery 2) Has a girlfriend who's jealous of Kim 3) 'New' computer was a Dell 4) Got a new job calculating how much money it costs the Canadian govt. to give out 'free' pills 5) Joined the Peace Corps 6) Somehow got appointed by Obama as the new 'Canadian Relations' Czar 7) So blown away by Wolverine Origins that he thinks he's Deadpool and won't speak 8) Somehow got roped into being the one assigned to actually read the Stimulus Package bill... 9) Been cooperating with Google to design their new OS 10) In negotiations with Disney for KP Season 5, featuring eps based on 'Tunnel Vision', 'Road Trip' and 'All Things Probable' | #579 Jul 08th, 2:37pm . Sentinel103Does Z drink? You know he's a Candian. Sometimes they go a whole quarter of a year without sobering up...Just an observation. ST 103 |

ZaratanSorry for scaring people, didn't realize I had forgotten to let people know I would be tied up and that I hadn't finished posting the Fannies. I'll explain more later, but after I got a call from Jurnee, I thought I'd better let everyone know. |
Sentinel103OK you're forgiven, but she'd better been worth it. Next time send me your phone number I got free calling to C A N A D A since my grand daughter lives there. We had three guys on defibulators. Larry (Sentinel 103) |

After hearing about Commander A, I think we all were starting to get a bit worried for you. Welcome back to the nuthouse... And watch out for Liz... She's got her own thing going now... Be scared... Be very scared... |

Sentinel103Star have you been reading my stories? You know that they are best read when intoxicated or otherwise mentally deprived? ST 103 |

SlyrrWhew - I was worried for a bit there - glad you're OK there, Z. Take care of yourself |

Joe StoppinghemGeez, I thought that was how most of the fannie votes were done... |

Neo the Saiyan angelZARATAN! -Neo TACKLES Zaratan- Don't you EVER do that again! You had most of us super-scared! -regains composure- Errr...not that I was one of those people. Because I wasn't. ...you have no proof! |

Sentinel103I heard she was crying about you in her sleep Z, but I don't know for sure since I wasn't there. You know I disappeared on my Mom and Dad for about ten months when I was in the Army. The Red Cross came knocking. Heck I thought they was happy. ST 103 |
Jurnee JakesWhile I'm impressed by people's concern for a friend and fellow artist, someone's personal information isn't mine to give out, whether I trust the recipient or not. Especially since it would seem Zaratan has roommates. Frankly, I'm a little amazed Z knew who 'JJ' referred to so quickly upon getting the message, but he's got access to everyone's email I think, plus the forums in order to send messages or his own personal information to. |
whitemAww Mann... Now we can't run across the border and get drunk? Oh well... Good to hear from ya Z! But how could you forget???? Don't you remember the fracas you caused the last time? Either way, good to hear that things aren't as bad as some of us were thinking. (Hey, we're writers! Our imaginations can get away from us at times.) |
Eddy13Nice to see you're still among us, Z. A lot of us were starting to get worried. Losing the Commander was bad enough, the Kimmunity would fall apart if anything happened to you. Well now, I hope you won't make us wait too much longer for the conclusion of the Fannies. After all, we deserve to see who won the big awards as well as seeing if Mace blows you up (I bet alot of us were beginning to suspect he was responsible for not hearing from you for awhile). |
kim's 1 fanHey there Big Z. I was getting worried myself, even though I didn't say anything. As to Mace, I know he wouldn't do anyt5hing like that, Would you Mace? (Mace grins evilly.) Mace? Mace say something! God Bless, Larry |

Sentinel103dang if it wasn't for no beard I thought I was looking at me....Anyway Mace knows better. I have a big meat grinder a big grill and a hungry dog. He needs something to go along with his nightly beer. ST 103 |

You have been missed. |
