Sentinel103For those unfortunates who have never had Tim bits and Tim Hortons coffee you don't know what you're missing. It's worth the ten hour drive to the border. ST-103 |
Guns Knives and NapalmDang right it the best. We here in Canada know how to make the best damn doughnuts, and coffee in the world. |
jkrust78I hail from the beautiful metropolis (or depending on the time of year frozen hell) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. |
sweetPixiesmileGoddang! Another Canuck from the frozen prairies! Where do you live? I lived in Westwood, then on Snow Street right across from Victoria General, near U of M. Not there anymore, of course, but I grew up on the tobaggan runs in Assiniboine, skating on the Red River, metre long licorice at the museum, open rink shinny and the golden streaker atop the legislative building. How are the mosquitoes this year? |
jkrust78Born and raised in North Kildonan. Spent some time living downtown on Smith St and Hargrave with my friend. Then moved to the village, now back in NK to stay. Mosquitoes not too bad since it's been cool and wet all summer, but on the hot days look out! What part of the country did you escape to? |
sweetPixiesmileLOL wow, north end of town! My best friend used to live in Maples. I'd ride my bike up Pembina, Osborne, Notre Dame, Mcphillips. Took maybe an hour and change on a good day. I bounced around a bit in Ontario: Kingston, Waterloo, then Hamilton. Finally landed in Toronto. My folks moved back to Hong Kong and my brother out to Vancouver. The only time I brought my partner to good ol' Windy pig, she got four mosquito bites in under twenty minutes, LOL. |
Sentinel103Winnipeg....Geeze..... Two winters ago I was on the tran-can, like on March 2nd pulling a trailor, on ice, with a 50 mph wind from the south....There was nothing beautiful about that.....Stupid stop light highway. ST-103 | #216 Aug 26th, 1:08pm . Edited Aug 26th, 1:10pm

Guns Knives and NapalmThere's a lot of good looking girls in Winnipeg. I remember my wife was smacking me every other minute for appercaiting art work. I got to ask, what the hell are you guys thinking? Living there, with the summer heat, and the freaking cold winters, not to mention the swarms of mosquitoes and ticks... hey, it sounds almost like Fort Nelson! I guess I should be questioning my own sanity! |
Sentinel103Hold on there are SANE Canadians? The best idea I ever saw in marketing 'The Beer Store' nice and to the point. ST-103 | #218 Aug 26th, 2:55pm . Edited Aug 26th, 2:59pm

sweetPixiesmileWho said anything about sane? With nothing to do, we get some pretty healthy people. That and really warm hearted folks (it's not called Friendly Manitoba for nothin', wink wink). With such cold winters, you have to know how to snuggle, LOL. And sometimes we go smart car tipping after a coupla tall ones. Famous Manitobans... Anna Paquin? The Guess Who? Crash Test Dummies? Loreena McKennit? Margret Lawrence? Neil Young? Terry Sawchuck... uh... Monty Hall? |
screaming phoenixprefer Korean food love that kimshe It's spelled kimchi I knew there was something wrong with you! The entire southern part of 'The land of the Morning Calm' smells like that stuff! I had to learn how not to smell it in self defense. Did you sample the Kaegogi or soju ? |
Sentinel103kimchi jiggi or kimchi hot soup...It'll keep ya warm even in Canada. ST-103 |
sweetPixiesmileFor soup, I prefer Malay Tom Yum Gung. uuuuuuggggghhhhhh *drooling* Although it doesn't stick to your gut like a hearty Yankee Pot Roast soup. |
jkrust78It's the women...and the slurpees because yeah you have to be a little nuts to live here sometimes :) That being said I've been halfway around the world twice and if I had to live anywhere else I wouldn't. Kind of explains why I like Kim Possible since that's what her and Ron do on a regular basis. |
Robert TeagueI was born and raised in Panama City, Florida, but after getting married moved to my wife's home city-- Atlanta, GA. |
Sentinel103welcome, been down to Atlanta a few times. My old electrician lives down there and retired after they closed the last GM plant. He worked at Lakewood then came up to St. Louis and then went back down to Dorville. ST-103 |

DrakkenWasHereOh dear, that wouldn't be good! What if it caused a whole bunch of unfortunate events?...Then you would have to go through all the trouble of writing it down. The next thing you'll know, you would have a whole story. Poor joking aside, welcome to the club! We're all mad here, you know. :P |
Aeetosit's weird, been a member for a while, and i never knew... roflmao btw, the fish really do glow at night |
Sentinel103I live about ten miles from where they purified uranium for the first A bomb, tell me about it. |
DrakkenWasHereHa, don't pay attention to me. I'm merely having one of those moments. I would blame it on old age, but I'm merely seventeen. So instead, I'll say it's from a lack of sleep. See, this is what I get for not looking at who I'm replying to. XD I bet. But doesn't it just look pretty? You know, in a "Crap! One of these days the fish are going to come after us" kind of way. |
Aeetosoh yah, i couldnt sleep after i saw camp wannaweep ={ |
Nutzkie"I live about ten miles from where they purified uranium for the first A bomb, tell me about it." So, you live near the Y-12 plant at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, huh? |
Sentinel103They did a bunch of it at Weldon Springs Missouri, they've been de toxifying that ground for twenty years now. (And they had a high school right next to it) |

loveandwar007I'm from Monroe, MI, a little town near the Ohio border. I'm currently attending college in Ohio, though, so i guess that's where I'm AT right now. |
