Well I don't see Saitou and Megumi together either... My post about someone suggesting that Megumi was similar to Tokio, came from a Tokio researcher (who's also a Tokio fan) who likes RK Saitou and thus I think is trying to find a way to put them together. I really don't approve of taking that direction. :( Sorry I wasn't clear on my post. I still hold fast in my belief that if you want alt-pair, it must be explained well for everyone's sake, the characters and readers. I like alt-pair a lot for character development and it's challenging! I'm not sure if being forced together is enough reason to actually be together in the end.

I've seen a lot of Hiko x Kenshin. It's okay I guess to me since I keep thinking of Kenshin as a grown man regardless of the art. As for Yahiko, there I agree with you since Yahiko no matter how I twist things around, still remains a kid in my mind. When I say kid, I don't mean immature but just a -kid-. He's pretty great and mature for his age but still a -kid-. Although that's probably not the pairing I dislike the most in yaoi. The pairing I dislike is those that doesn't make sense, like Aoshi and Kanryuu together. *shivers*

I don't have a hard time thinking of Kenshin as a kid... I guess we don't get to see much of his childhood, but I think about it a lot I guess ^_^ he must have been so cute ^__________^ but even though I can easily think of him as an adult, I think *Hiko* sees him as a kid forever (except maybe in Seisouhen where he says "My stupid disciple has changed the meaning of the sword." He seems to really respect him as an adult there) and if he sees him as a kid, he shouldn't be attracted... that's how I think of it anyway... I can't really imagine wanting to be with someone much younger than me... age difference isn't *always* wrong, though... just if one person is a kid, or they have an adult/kid type of relationship, which Hiko and Kenshin do even when Kenshin is an adult, because they're still teacher and student... I'm going to be a teacher, and I can't stand teachers doing things like that, so maybe that's why this pairing bugs me so much, or maybe because it's a little incestuous if you think of them like adopted father and son... but I agree it can be done well if the author really takes it seriously and is good at it, and the stories can still be good.

Yahiko is forever a kid to me... always. When he's 80, he'll be a kid, too ^_^

By "slash" I didn't necessarily mean yaoi... the term "slash" just means homosexual, so it could also be yuri. I use it because it's less specific and includes both, and usually I'm talking about both.

Kenshin/Sano kinda annoys me, even though I ADORE slash so much, just because I don't think they are compatible, and also because so many authors act like it's the ONLY possible slash pairing... but I'll say they could be compatible late in life, like Seisouhen time period, because Sano has matured a lot since the Revenge Arc. That's one time I do like them together. Funny thing is, Seisouhen seemed to provide a rationale for at *least* two pairings that've always bugged me, though I'll admit one of them is K/K, which isn't "alternate," but the OAV made me think it could work better than I thought, and it also did that for some other pairings... if you stretched it, you might even be able to write a Megumi/Kaoru fic based on it.

Uh...you guys.

Want to know something?

I think you do.

The Tsubame/Shishio pairing now EXISTS. No joke. And even better, it is one of those "most absurd coupling ever, written so well you LIKE it."

I'm not even kidding.

Read "Burning Love" by SiriusFan13.

I kid you not.

It WORKS.

hehehehe... that tsubame/shishio fic... was written as a response to MY challenge! woot! the challenge was to write a fic about a pairing you have *never* ever seen a fic about, and she answered it. I'm really excited that anyone responded at all, but especially a well-known author like Siriusfan. yay!

You know what I would like to see? A Soujiro/Yumi pairing. I know they're more like big sister and little brother or even mother and son but I always wondered of Soujiro would have a little crush on this gorgeous woman he spends so much time with. I know he has no emotions, but I think that could play into a romantic plot as well.

I know I'm not the only one looking for Sou/Yumi fics. How else would a six-year-old oneshot fic like Wrinkled Packages (awesome story, by the way) still be getting reviews? The only Sou/Yumi fics I've found are modern day AU's, which aren't my cup of tea. Does anyone know where to find a Meiji era Sou/Yumi?

Finding-Emo

Well, call me a fool, but I would quite like to see either ChouTae (matching personalities) or ChouSano (no explanation is forthcoing. Blame my inner fangirl). Also, why is there never any Hoji-centric fanfic around? Hoji needs love too!
