the-original-hufflepuffTopic: Random Discussion Right, thought it'd be better to talk crap in here rather that the fic rec thread (though we should get more people on this forum lol).So anyways, I was wondering, you know the C2, is it just like direct Blacks or can you put in fics about the Malfoys and the Tonks's etc? |
bonniedollNo, not just *direct* direct Blacks, so Lucius M is alright, but not like, his ancestors, becuase they aren't Black related... Draco's fine too, as he is half Black. Andromeda, Tonks and both Teddy's are fine, but Remus - yes, Remus, Huffle! - isn't I don't think... obviously, he's allowed to be IN the fic, just not the main character, unless he also shares the limelight with Tonks... Um, the Lestrange bros are alright too... Scorpius Malfoy... can't think of any others really! Older Black Family members are fine too, if anyone's looked at the Black Family Tree, released by JKR. Yeah, we probably should discuss in here rather than over on the recs topic! ^_^ You're right, we need to... advertise! :) How, I wonder? |
the-original-hufflepuffI suspected as much, but thanks for clarifying :).Lol, I saw the name 'Remus' and my eyes glazed over, but I think I snapped out of my Lupin-induced trance :(. |
bonniedollHuffle, you've inspired me to try poetry; my first ever FF poem... I'm sure if I told you who it was about, you'd come running, drooling, no matter how crap it turns out to be! So, guess who... I'm just about to post, so pleeeeeease take a look! ^_^ |
the-original-hufflepuffWow, I inspired someone .. usually I just aggravate them .. and unless my inner eye needs tested then you're writing about Remus, so of course I'll be there the instant I get the alert xD!Hehe, I wrote my first shamelessly fluffy fic last night! You can probably guess the pairing =P. |
bonniedollNope, your inner eye seems alright to me... I'll go check that out when I've done my homework, or I'll get dragged in and I won't get anywhere! ^_^ I had a delay, so I'll just go post now.| #6 Oct 09th 2007, 10:21am

the-original-hufflepuffGlad my inner eye's in order, though I'd rather my outer eyes were instead =P. I have glasses and braces, only I don't wear the glasses much in case I get compared to Ugly Betty or something.| #7 Oct 09th 2007, 10:28am
bonniedoll^_^ Do you like Ugly Betty? I do, my friends are obsessed though... My Outer Eye's are currently in working order, if a little long-sighted. I don't need glasses nor braces at the moment, but I might need very weak glasses later on in life, according to my optician. :) Most of my friends wear glasses. And braces; come to think of it, I'm about the only one in my group of friends that DOESN'T wear braces... or glasses, although both my parents do. Actually, my dad recently had some surgery done on his eyes, 'cos it was sooo expensive to keep replacing glasses as thick as milk bottle bottoms! Not laser surgery - he's too short-sighted for that to work! -, I can't remember exactly what it was... I'll check that fluffy fic out now, provided it's posted? Well, I'll go find out, right after I email Cuba with my Rainbow story... :)| #8 Oct 09th 2007, 11:47am

the-original-hufflepuffYeah, it's posted, coincidentally it's actually called Rainbows, it was just one of those random ideas. In fact, all my fics to date have been random ideas ...I love Ugly Betty, did you see it on Friday? Poor Hilda :'(. My mum, dad and sister all wear glasses. I was told I'd never need them, but then two years ago they were like "Actually, here you go, your vision sucks". I need them for distaces like if I sit at the back in class and when I'm older I'll need them to drive. |
bonniedollHeh... yeah, I didn't get that thing with Hilda at first, as wasn't watching very carefully; I didn't catch on that she was dreaming and I was like, wtf?! at the nd when she starts sobbing on Betty 'cos he'd gone... ^,^| #10 Oct 09th 2007, 1:21pm

the-original-hufflepuffI thought that it seemed *too* perfect, and at first I was like "Aww, great, they cheesifieded it!" but then I kind of guessed, but hoped I was wrong. I was thrown off by the fact that Justin was a bit too happy, but then I thought maybe he was trying to ignore it and deny the fact that he was sad for his mum because she was so heart-broken? I go into way too much detail with theories, as I think you'll have guessed from the review reply I just sent you.| #11 Oct 09th 2007, 1:40pm

bonniedollYeah... I thought Justin seemed too happy as well, but you're right maybe that's his way of dealing with it... now I SERIOUSLY have to go! It's 7:59 and I need to leave at 8:00 if I have any hope whatsoever of getting to school on time! XD| #12 Oct 09th 2007, 11:59pm

the-original-hufflepuffAght, I'm stuck at home with flu, it's been really cold recently and me being extremely stupid, I left my window open for like a week.Oh well, least I get a few days off. | #13 Oct 10th 2007, 2:08am
bonniedollAww... I've never had Flu, luckily. :( It's weird, ever since I started Secondary School (aged 11 =P), I've never taken a day off sick! I've never had to, at all. I almost did when I had this absolutely horrific ear ache, but it felt a bit better once I got there, so... I am very prone to ear infections; last year, we went on holiday to Portugal, during the summer, for 10 days, About halfway in, I got an ear infection from the hotel pool. It was really painful and I got loads of fluorescent green crap coming out of my ears... I actually couldn't sleep at night, mostly because of the blistering damn heat, but also because I couldn't lie on either ear because they hurt so much, I couldn't sleep on my back, so I mostly just sat up against a wall, armed with mozzy repellent and listening to my dad snore! Then of course, it had to get worse, so the infection spread all down the side of my face, to my mouth, therefore I couldn't chew. So we went to the doctors and once they finally understood what the problem was - my Portuguese is not fantastic! - she gave me Ibuprofen and some other painkillers, might have been Paracetamol; I was on 8 a day by the time I got home... It was bank holiday too, so we couldn't go the doctors!! ^_^ Get well soon! :)| #14 Oct 10th 2007, 8:13am

bonniedollHuffle, how come you get to drop subjects in Year Nine!? We can't 'til next year... :( Goodbye, Music... and you can bugger off too, Dance! ^_^ Well, I might change my mind about that one actually, Dance...| #16 Oct 13th 2007, 2:21pm

the-original-hufflepuffWe sit our exams earlier, we'e now doing all our coursework and stuff, which is rather scary, thinking about it. Considering I'm already failing Chem....Ooooh, I hate dancing! I have no coordination skills whatsoever =P. | #17 Oct 13th 2007, 2:58pm
bonniedollSo what do you do instead of GCSE's? Why can't all UK schools be the same!? I mean, it would prevent a LOT of confusion on behalf of confuddled 13 year old girls... ^_^ I'm not very good at dance, but I do kinda enjoy it, if that makes sense! Our school does an annual dance show, and I've done that twice, but I'm not doing it this year. Too much hard work to build up to about two seconds on an over-lit stage. Anyway, I am thoroughly confused here; you start school a year LATER, and take your exams a year EARLIER! Where the hell is the logic in that? ^_^ I have not got a clue what to take for my Options, and I have to choose at Christmas. English, Maths & Science are compulsory, as is one type of DT, so I'm thinking... Graphics, probably, Product Design. Geography, History... apparently we're not allowed to do both, so I'll ask about that... actually, it's gonna be TOTAL CHAOS around the time I sit my GCSE's, as we're moving to a new school site; they're flattening out current school for houses, so we're moving up to the top of the field, where the dance studios and teahcer training centre now lie in ruins. Costing £24,000,000, and they're already about a year behind schedule! So we'll be transferring around GCSE time for moi... :(| #18 Oct 14th 2007, 5:13am

the-original-hufflepuffWe do Standard Grades .. I dunno why everythings so confusing, I guess they felt the need to be nasty. That's so weird, they're building a new school for us too! No idea when it's meant to be done though lol. | #19 Oct 14th 2007, 5:22am
bonniedollWell, ours is *meant* to be done by next year, but at the rate they're going... They're currently in the process of demolishing the place where the school is going to be; they're a full YEAR behind schedule! Standards Grades... when do you do them? We do SAT's at the end of this year (year nine), then we sit our GCSE's at the end of year 11, so we have more than 2 years to go! | #20 Oct 14th 2007, 2:50pm

Cuban Sombrero Gal*laughs*Well, I'm in my last term of year 9, and we do our QSC tests (Queensland certificate of schooling or something it stands for) at the end of year 12, so i still have 3 years before I graduate. And I probably should say hi before I but into the conversation. *waves hello* | #21 Oct 15th 2007, 10:50pm
the-original-hufflepuffWe sit them at the end of fourth year, so May 2009, but I'm sitting Maths and English in 2008 because I'm in the fasttrack class.Hugs and cookies to Cuba! ^_^ | #22 Oct 16th 2007, 1:44am
bonniedollWowieeeeeeeeees!!!! We love you Cuba... You see that Huffle? There's actually someone else in this forum! Squee!!! Well, I'm in my first term of year nine... Is it just me, or would things be so much easier, if EVERYWHERE had the same school system? Then we wouldn't get all this, 'well, wtf are GCSE's?!' and 'so what exactly does YOUR 'year ten' mean?'! ^_^ Hang on a sec... Huffle, we'll be doing our exams at the aame time then, you your Standard Grade thingies and me, my GCSE's. What's a fasttrack class? You do the exam early? I wish I could for Maths! There's just this ONE girl in my Maths class who is a slight bit better than me, and it's always really annoying when she gets two more marks than me on a test or something... I'm not jealous, I just don't know how she dees it! Good thing we're friends... XD How do you mark things in Scotland? We use National Curriculum levels 3-8, but we use A-G grades for GCSE's. Did you say you lived in Australia, Cuba? How do they mark stuff there? Btw, I am now REALLY peed off! We had PE last, and they made us all put on our proper school ties, jumpers, skirts/trousers, and school shoes! They don't even do that at break, but No, they have to check WHEN WE ACTUALLY WANT TO BE SOMEWHERE! :( They'll be looking down our tops next, trying to make sure we're not wearing our Games polo shirts underneath... ^_^ | #23 Oct 16th 2007, 8:35am
the-original-hufflepuffFasttrack is when they start you on the course a year early, so yeah, we finish it before everyone else. For Standard Grade, you get pass marks from 1-6 (7 is a complete fail). 1 & 2 are credit, 3 & 4 are general, and 5 & 6 are foundation. For Highers (the exams we sit in S5 and/or in S6) it's A's and B's and C's etc. I HATE HATE HATE HATE Maths, I pass my tests and do some of the work in class, but I constantly forget homework, and for some reason even when I copy my friend's homework I get a few marks less than her! Yeah, Cuba, we all (ie, me & Bonnie) love you!!!! | #24 Oct 16th 2007, 12:20pm

bonniedollI love maths! My teacher seriously underestimates his little geniuses though... ^_^ I'm trying to write another poem, too; from Andromeda's POV this time...| #25 Oct 16th 2007, 2:32pm
the-original-hufflepuffOh, cool :)!You must read this Andromeda poem, it is my favourite piece of poetry on this site! It's called Andantino. Here's the link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2692266/1/Andantino Please, pretty please read because it's so beautiful! I'm obsessed with poetry personally, I have always adored poetry and song lyrics ^_^. Oh, maths is so boring to me. It's just too logical for my liking. I understand it, and I'm quite good at it when I want to be, but it's too mundane, and there is nothing creative in it. Creative things appeal to me because I have a vivid imagination and a knack for being scatter-brained constantly, I think =P. | #26 Oct 16th 2007, 3:45pm
bonniedollI like maths BECAUSE it's logical! It's reliable, and numbers don't let you down like friends do. My maths teacher thinks we're getting lazy with basic multiplication; we showed him! I tried to work out 0.269541 x 4879125.652 on paper, no calculators involved; I didn't finish it in the lesson, but I'm gonna go solve it in a minute... ^_^ actually, I might get to working on those icons again, I need to get a move on with them... Top student in our maths class once worked out 62 to the power of 62 ON PAPER for the fun of it! It was too big a number for the calculator, so she did it herself. I find myslef asking why she wanted to know in the first place! And why she didn't just use Excel... XDI am feeling depressed! My reviews have come to a complete halt and I have nothing planned whatsoever for Torn or Traitor. I didn't update Traitor for months, then I posted a nice loooooooong new chappie and it only got ONE review! Compared to five per chapter for all the others. So I'm about to post some the Andromeda poetry, which is completely crap, lacks interesting vocab 'cos I couldn't find a gap for any adjectives or anything, entirely goes off its pattern towards the end, has a totally weak finishing line and is probably one of my worst pieces yet. It's gonna be called Today, and I honestly don't know why I wrote it. | #27 Oct 17th 2007, 11:29am

bonniedollPosted. I am thoroughly ashamed of it too! I know I shouldn't have posted it, I should have waited and edited it, but I'm tired and angry, so to hell with reason. My mum is being annoying and psychotic, my dad is being moody and irritable, my dog is being bathed and clipped and I am busy being depressed/depressing and posting awful poems when I should be doing something productive like organizing my sock drawer, or disposing of the ink cartridges that are 'cluttering up my room', or revising for a German test that I've already done, or drawing more Goddamn fairies to keep my friend happy, or practising my required charade of the 'perfect daughter', or packing my school bag in advance so I don't forget my PE kit like I did today, or knocking the living daylights out of our bloody oversensitive fire alarm which is currently giving me a splitting headache because everyone is too lazy to close the kitchen door behind them. I can predict that, within two minutes, I will be required to get up from the computer to go and do something completely trivial and totally unimportant like moving my dirty wellies from where they're meant to be, or washing up a coffee cup that's not even mine, or go and see -- there we go: my mum just called. "Is the hoover up there?" Yes mum, do you need it? No, she says, I was just checking. So now she thinks people are sneaking into the house to steal our hoover? "Come and see the dog," she says, "she's all clean and fluffy." And now, the smoke alarm is going off again, and my mother has decided that, yes, she DOES need the hoover, so over the noise of the hoover, smoke alarm, and TV, I can just about hear myself think. Almost. When I plug up my ears, and close my bedroom door, them put my head under the bedcovers. Just you wait, the dog'll need feeding next, or I'll need to go and wash some more dishes that aren't even mine... and there goes the smoke alarm again. And again. Now it's stopped. Won't be too long before it starts again. Now you know why I spend so much time on the internet.| #28 Oct 17th 2007, 12:04pm

the-original-hufflepuffOh, I'm sure it's great, you wrote it after all! Ploughing my way through my over-stuffed inbox right now, but when I've cleared the clutter I'll go R & R.I know what you mean, I spend too much time online because of my family, who always complain that I'm becoming a hermit or something. Every time I go downstairs though, I end up being roped into doing something around the house or stuck in a boring conversation with my parents about school. Why do they pretend to care when even I can't be bothered to? Argh. And my ***LOUD*** little sister and her daft friends are not any better *sighs*. I can't remember if I still have a PE kit, it's been ages since I've brought it to school. We're doing swimming currently so there is no danger of me bothering. I hate swimming. Sometimes I am very logical: most of the time logic bores me beyond comprehension. | #29 Oct 18th 2007, 1:24pm
bonniedollTell me about it... ^_^ My parents are really nosy! I'm an only child, so noisy siblings are not an issue in our household... :( We were meant to swim at school last year! I was really looking forward to it, then they demolished the pool and filled it in with crap. Then they built a seating area over it, complete with unused barbecue and falling-apart wooden benches. Yippee... At least we get to do trampolining after half-term. Oh yeah... last day of half term!!!! XDD Wooooooohooooooooooooooooooooo! I mean it about that Andy poem, I posted it in a moment of madness while the dog was doing her best to pee on my carpet, the smoke alarm was going non-stop and I was super pissed off with everyone inside the house! So my judgement wasn't the best, to say the least... I'm honestly thinking about deleting it, but I'll wait and see the response first. My friends call me a computer freak, because I'm always coming up with random stuff that people have told over the internet, and they're like, 'er do you HAVE a life?!' It makes me wonder what one of my friends does in his spare time; he's not an internet nut like me, he never comes out of house to parties and the like, so... he does take an interest in writing and drawing thoug;, I'm trying to get him on here actually. He's the one that had pink hair for a month after a hairdye disaster! ^_^ I really need to be doing my Art homework, but I've done Warhol and Picasso so many times before, it's just getting tedious now. There's only so many times you can draw a soup can before you get somewhat bored of it! XD I know that's one subject I'm dropping for GCSE's: Art! While I'm on the subject of school, I MUST rant about my psycho Drama teacher!! Argh, first I need to explain the disclipine system at our school; SSD means a afterschool Friday detention and a meeting with the head of department before you're ever allowed back into that lesson again. It's slightly more complicated than that but w/e... anyway, said psycho SSD'd 4 students in my class for laughing in one of those serious situations, then put us all into a wholeclass lunch detention and made us write about 'why we were there and how we can prevent ourselves from being there again'. Then, the next class she had, she started crying and shouting and told the kids to stop treating her like shit! Hysteria in the classroom... XD Now she puts us in a SEATING PLAN! FOR DRAMA! :( Round tables, to write, instead of our normal practicals. She TOTALLY sucks the fun out of the subject! And she's not exactly setting a good example either... Then outside English some weirdo attempted to snog my hair and lifted me about two feet off the ground while my friends tried to pull him off. Such a lovely school I go to... Hmm, long post! | #30 Oct 18th 2007, 2:28pm

I can't stop! It hurts, and then it hurts more, but I keep biting it, until it bleeds and hurts even more, and the skin around it is all ragged and horrible, but I can't stop...| #33 Oct 20th 2007, 1:42pm

Avindara NirveneEekm that stinks..I somehow can't manage to bite off any fingernails. bonniedollNice... I live *near* a city, but it's only a tiny one and I actually live in quite a rural area... fields everywhere, trees, grass, deer in the back garden... if you walk in any direction out of the town centre for 3 minutes, you come a park, any way you go! It's nice, but horribly dark from autumn onwards, pitch black at 6:00pm which sucks. The dog likes to chase rabbits when she goes out: she goes to work with my dad every day (he's a handyman, his own employer), gets fussed over and fed by old ladies, digs up their gardens, chases their pets, craps on their lawns the little horror. She's sweet really... XD| #39 Oct 27th 2007, 5:21am

bonniedollOnly two days to go until Halloween! I'm going bowling, the whole place is probably gonna be empty... XDErgh, the clocks have gone back and it's really dark at 4:30! It's unnatural... I had to come home from school and turn on all the lights; being in the house alone doesn't creep me out, it's just being alone in the house when it's *dark* that's the problem! I have my Germna speaking test tomorrow, about which I'm extremely nervous, even though it'll probably barely affect my overall year marks at all! Last time I had a speaking test, I totally froze up, forgot how to say 'the', 'and' and 'a'... Needless to say, I completely screwed that one up! I do not perform well under pressure. In practicals, that is; the German writing test was fine, as are all my maths, enligsh and science tests, but when it came to that damned test last year, or that rather memorable music exam... ^_^ I was quite of my last proud Art marks though (self-portraits; oh, the horror of it!), I actually did better than my friend, who always beats me at stuff like drama and art. I remember we got our summer reports mixed up once (we have the same surname, documents say m.edwards or v.edwards are difficult to distinuish) I was actually looking at HER report, but thought it was mine, and I was like, 'OMG! I beat you in Art, Drama, and Music!' I came crashing back down to reality when she said, 'Vicki, that's *my* report.' :( Heh... | #40 Oct 29th 2007, 2:27pm . Edited Oct 29th 2007, 2:28pm

Oh, that reminds me, I might be banned from the internet on weekdays :(. I got a really awful report card, basically saying that I don't do any homework (which is NOT true, I'm doing my Maths right now!) and my dad is so mad he hasn't spoken to me yet, which is kind of a good thing because he'll p!ss me off further about it, I'm already mad at my maths teacher for her over-exagerrating >:|. bonniedollIt got cancelled! Just as well... I have until next week to do more revision... ^_^ You're not allowed on during the week?! :( *feels sorry for huffle* I never get any Maths homework for some reason, which is good. I got the results back from my English test today, and I only got a level 5! :o And I can't even say the teacher hates me... it's because the story we were writing about completely sucks. I have no interest in it whatsoever. I mean, why can't we read Harry Potter in English, write long bloody essays about characters that we actually LIKE, find interesting, care about? But noooooooooo, we have to write about jealosy-driven psychopaths who murder their husband's rabbits... Yippee. *_* Now I have to go do my Drama homework, which also sucks!
