Demoiselle KyotaOh, Bonnie...haven't you ever heard the myth of Narcissus and Echo?Speaking of which, I had a test on that in English about a month ago. Yes, my teacher tests us on MYTHS. Grr... | #101 Feb 16th 2008, 4:44pm
bonniedollAs a matter of fact, I have... A very, very, very simple children's version years and years ago, but I got the gist of it! ^^Well, myths are probably a lot more interesting than the crap we're made to read most of the time. I never though I'd see the day when I'd be *happy* to read Shakespeare! I mean, anything but the mindless twatter of authors that msut've bribed the publishers to get the thing published... anyway, before I begin to rant again about why we should studdy HP in English, how are you? :P | #102 Feb 16th 2008, 4:47pm

Demoiselle KyotaOh, I'm pretty good, and you?I have the whole week off, since it's Presidents' Week (or is it only a day?) and therefore we don't have school! So, I'm basically thrilled at the prospect of sleeping in alll week! XD Don't you wish you were American? I really wish we could study HP in English class. It's so much better than most school literature (which I usually end up liking anyway, but that's beside the point) and it talks about adult themes like war and grwing up with no parents and corruption in the government...etc, etc. But no, instead we spent a whole week on the prologue of Romeo and Juliet. | #103 Feb 16th 2008, 4:55pm
bonniedollMuch Ado About Nothing. Wish we were doing The Tempestm looks way more interesting... :(Lol, not really, I've just had a week off for my half-term! :P | #104 Feb 16th 2008, 5:00pm
Demoiselle KyotaOh. Fine. *Huffs*Much Ado About Nothing? We did that last year! With the girl (Viola) who dresses up like a guy (Sebastian, her brother) and then some other girl (Olivia?) falls in love with her...oh, wait, that's Twelfth Night, sorry. But we DID do Much Ado About Nothing last year...what was it about, again? | #105 Feb 16th 2008, 5:02pm

Demoiselle KyotaAnd Bonnie, when you get a chance, can you add my name to the list? Thanks.| #106 Feb 16th 2008, 6:13pm

bonniedollSorry about that, I went off to bed... it *was* one in the morning and my chest was killing me for some reason or another, so I'll go do that in a min. :)| #107 Feb 17th 2008, 1:02am

Demoiselle Kyota*Whistles* So, what was Much Ado About Nothing about, anyway?| #110 Feb 17th 2008, 5:00pm
NickyFox13Much Ado About Nothing...read in school, grade eight to be exact. The play takes place in Italy during a war, the main characters being Hero, Beatrice, Benedick and Claudio. Claudio is quiet and a solider who is in love with Hero the shyer girl, while Benedick (also a soldier) and Beatrice have a love/hate, bickering type of relationship and are both loud, boisterous and talktive. Benedick can be hardheaded while Beatrice is a bit more sensible. ...and that's all I remember from the play. :D I'm sure there's someone who can exlain it better than I can. | #111 Feb 18th 2008, 7:09pm

NickyFox13Back on topic: I'm going to take on (or at least try)Kyota-chan's "Aboard the Love boat" challenge and BonniDolle's "The Twinkle Challenge" as well. | #112 Feb 18th 2008, 7:41pm
Demoiselle KyotaHi Nikki! Thanks for the explanation; I knew I had read it once, I just blanked on the plot. XDI'm really happy you want to try the challenge! Which pairing do you want, though? The taken ones are: Oliver/Katie Cedric/Cho Scorpius/Rose Lucius/Narcissa Sirius/Remus Harry/Ginny Remus/Tonks Sirius/OC James/Lily Ted/Andromeda Bill/Fleur | #113 Feb 19th 2008, 11:00am

Demoiselle KyotaHa, Bonnie - I finished the last chapter of my entry for your challenge first...Ergh. Now I have to do the first one. XD Do they have to be in the order you listed? Sorry to be naggy, but can you pleeeease add me to the list? Thanks! | #114 Feb 19th 2008, 1:04pm
bonniedollNope, they can be in any order you like! Sure, I'll go do that now. *actually does it* ^^| #115 Feb 19th 2008, 1:17pm
Demoiselle KyotaSo, what's up?How's YOUR entry for your challenge going? XD | #116 Feb 19th 2008, 1:19pm
bonniedollAh... :/ Entry? What entry...| #117 Feb 19th 2008, 1:20pm
Demoiselle KyotaOh, Bonnie...The thing you typed up after being struck by inspiration after looking at your prompts? | #118 Feb 19th 2008, 1:22pm
bonniedollInspiration? What inspiration? :P I haven't been wiritng much lately... a huge plot bunny latched its grippy little teeth into my ankle in the early hours of the morning a few days ago for some Sirius/Marlene for the RL Valentine's challenge, but school's kinda stressing me out at the moment. Options and all that crap. :)| #119 Feb 19th 2008, 1:24pm
Demoiselle Kyota*Le gasp* You have to write Options too??Or are we talking about two different things? Our Options are these things we need to write in English every week. It can be a review, a short story, a poem, etc. But not a fanfic. I asked my teacher and she was like "...What's fanfiction?" and I was like "A story that's based on something that already exists." It basically took me, like, five minutes to explain what a fanfic was, and then she asked "Well, why wouldn't you just create your own charcters and your own story?" and I was like "...Forget it." So, what's up? | #120 Feb 19th 2008, 1:31pm
bonniedollEr... no. My Options are choosing what to drop and what to carry on with during Yr 10. My brain is warring with itself...:) | #121 Feb 19th 2008, 1:33pm
Demoiselle KyotaOhh, haha. Yeah, I figured it was only my stupid school that forces people to write Options. You sound like you need a break. Go write something! | #122 Feb 19th 2008, 1:35pm
bonniedollI have until Friday to shape my future, writing's not exactly the first thing on my mind write now! :P Plus I've got about three months of tech homework also due in for Friday, hence my frazzled brain and wanting to kill Jonathan Ive for being so difficult to research because all tha ever coes up is his wonderful iMac/pod... | #123 Feb 19th 2008, 1:38pm
Demoiselle KyotaShape your future? What are you deciding, your career??Well, what ARE your Options? I have no idea who Jonathan Ive is, so I'm of no help, sorry... | #124 Feb 19th 2008, 1:41pm
bonniedoll*sigh* Basically, I can choose 4 subjects to continue with throughout the rest of my school years. There' the core subjects (Maths, English, Science, IT, etc) but all others must be dropped. So yes, I'm ultimately deciding my career, in a very broad sense. For example, if I dropped German, I could hardly start work as a translator, could I now? Not that I want to be a translator, that's just an example. :) Jonathan Ive & the Apple team created the iMac and the, probably significantly more popular, iPod. :P | #125 Feb 19th 2008, 1:44pm
Demoiselle KyotaAhh...well you should probably keep German, since it's always good to know more than one language...That's all the advice I can give, sorry. What do you want to do with your life? *Blinks* Oh, he created the iPod? That's cool. ;) | #126 Feb 19th 2008, 1:47pm
bonniedollOh, I'm definitely keeping German! it can be practically impossible to get into university without a language now. :)Yup, the bugger created the iPod. I don't have an iPod, my phone has a huge memory so I use that instead. Why, then, do I have to research Jonathan Ive? Who knows... | #127 Feb 19th 2008, 1:50pm
Demoiselle KyotaYeah, colleges look down upon those who do not take language...Aww, Bonnie, what do you have to know about him? | #128 Feb 19th 2008, 1:52pm
bonniedollI have no idea. I quote the worksheet: "write a paragraph about the designer" I kid you not. ^^Not to mention Da Vinci, Roy Lichenstein, A. A. Milne (Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh... Winnie, Winnie, Winnie, Winnie, Winnie the Pooh!) and God knows who else. :/ | #129 Feb 19th 2008, 1:55pm
Demoiselle KyotaYou have to write a paragraph each on all those people? Ow.| #130 Feb 19th 2008, 2:04pm
bonniedoll+ find pictures of their creations, describe said creations, and use my 'general knowledge' to come up with 'three things that were going on in the world'. What? I mean, for God's sake people! You cannot give students a worksheet with vague instructions and completely irrelevant prompts and expect us to turn in something even semi-coherent![/end self-pitying rant] ^^ | #131 Feb 19th 2008, 2:07pm
NickyFox13God, I hate vague essays. When I try to write them they are ramble-y and just plain not so great.| #132 Feb 19th 2008, 7:03pm

Pinky Green"The Hunt" Easter Challenge:The Rules- The brief is to write a oneshot or a twoshot/threeshot etc (like Katy -Bad Mum- did for her Valentine's Challenge), including a few prompts. The oneshot (or two or three etc) has to be based on the item: -The Hunt (or A Hunt) You must include at least two of the following things: -An egg -Five Fingers -Dancing -Flowers -Chocolate/Candy -Kiss -Warmth -Spring -Coldness -Feelings -Embracing -Eyes The Minimum of words is: 900 (I don't think that's too harsh, wouldn't that be a page or two?) For this challenge, I've decided that we should use pairings. You must claim your pairings at either Memory Butterfly (my forum: http://www.fanfiction.net/forum/Memory_Butterfly/35457) or the Reviews Lounge. You might also want to claim the pairing at ToManyLetters' forum: Sober Universe (http://www.fanfiction.net/forum/The_Sober_Universe/40863/). If ToManyLetters hasn't yet made a topic claim at the formers. I figured we could use some help claiming. NickyFox13*fumes over not being able to do oliver/katie*Fine. I'll do another pairing. Percy/Audrey, then. I'll mess up Percy's character, but I don't care. EDIT: I'm being an idiot, I'm already claimed Roger/Leanne! ...Just ignore this. | #137 Feb 21st 2008, 8:31pm . Edited Feb 21st 2008, 8:58pm

Pinky GreenThe 5 Days and Feelings Challenge Pick a pairing of your choice, but one pairing per person, and write a fanfiction including 5 chapters, or more, or less. You will need to include these prompts: Monday - Sight Tuesday - Hear Wednesday - Smell Thursday - Taste Friday - Feel The senses can be in different orders, but the days have to be in sequence. Miss out Saturday & Sunday though, unless you want to include a sense that is metaphysical. The rest is up to you: pairings, genre, rating, length etc. You up for the challenge Lola?
