ok, well, we all love stargate atlantis, and im here to say that we need to make sure it stays for a fifth season.

the show needs ratings to determine its future. now, even if you dont entirely like what theyve done, give it a chance. see what happens. itll all play out im sure. if we watch it then we are ensuring deeper plots.

the ratings arent quite high enough, so watch the show. on your tv. on more than one!(hee hee, im gonna try that!) internet doesnt count. and unfortuantely for all those out there this doesnt apply to, they are going by US ratings.

as for me, i loved adrift and cant wait for more. who knows what they can do for season 5?

Bah, if only I COULD watch it on tv...

Season 5! There MUST be a Season 5!! All you people who CAN watch it on your Tv's...do so!!! (Even if you aren't in the U.S., DO IT ANYWAY!!!) Hopefully, the ratings'll shoot up as S4 progresses...praying for that to happen :D

I really am trying... I missed the ep this week and last... I'm trying! I really am! I'll force myself next week... ummm make that the week after! I know! I know! I have cable, I'm in the US... my watching gives us another season! I really will try though! Maybe season 5 will be better... and people won't die all the time! :(

Yeah, I think that's the problem actually. The writer's are making too many character changes in too short of a time. Possible Spoilers: I mean, first Carson went, now they're getting rid of Atlantis, and then Sam's coming, along with Dr. Lee. It's just too much! Anway, did you know that Chuck, the technician got a first name by accident?

sparklyshimmer2010
i love chuck. hes one of my favorite charachters.

there are a lot of cast changes...SOME not for the best, but i think season 4 will be really exciting, even if evil.

anyway, yeah we're all trying to watch it. remember, i think its on at two times every friday.

Yeah, I think that's the problem actually. The writer's are making too many character changes in too short of a time.

That's the problem. If that happens too much on the show you begin to wonder if anyone is safe. SG-1 was a great show and the only people they really killed weren't regulars. Hammond left, then O'Neill, but they didn't die and it wasn't really TPTB that was responsible. And once O'Neill left SG-1 many viewers stopped watching, simply because they loved O'Neill. I thought season ten was great, but the ratings just weren't enough.

Atlantis is really unsteady....

Spoilers:

First Ford, then Carson, then Elizabeth? That's THREE regulars off the show. I know they couldn't really keep Ford for actor reasons, but then Carson and Elizabeth too? Carson was loved so much by people that he was made a regular because of it. So they decide to kill him off? And I know for a fact Torri had nothing to do with the reason TPTB got rid of Elizabeth for Sam, and I'm starting to wonder who's going to be next. It's turning into 24... They kill regulars all the time.

That's why it's so hard to get myself to watch it! It's sad when the writers make it THAT hard to watch a show you really liked, but I'm hoping things get better in season 5... I doubt it, but I've been wrong before!

you never know, things might get better. but well have to see this one first. and im definately mad bout ehat they are doing to our regular characters on the show! its like LOST, though that one kinda had to be like that. this doesnt though!

small spoilers:

i mean getting rid of one of the team, in that way, then our DOCTOR, and the leader!!!!! what are they trying to accomplish!?

SPOILERS FOR LIFELINE!!!SPOILERS FOR LIFELINE!!!

ZOMG I just saw "Lifeline" last night...

Despite how unbearably SAD it made me, I loved it.

First of all, did anyone notice how abundantly Sparky it was??!! There were at least 3 instances when John and Liz were just looking at each other like THAT...at one point I actually said "Aww" (to nobody in particular, mind you--I tend to talk to the air :P). And how many times did John keep saying that nothing was going to happen to her? That was at least 5... And the expression on his face the whole time!! OMG! SO Sparky!!

Second, the way they "got rid of" Liz, I did like. It was so heartbreaking, but so like her to make a sacrifice like that. And I love the look on her face when she last looks at John...*sniff* :_( So sad, but you could really tell she loves him. *SHE DOES, SHE DOES!!* And, at least she wasn't officially "kiled off". There's still a HUGE chance she could come back if there's a Season 5 (so UNDOUBTEDLY there MUST be a SEASON 5!!!!!!!!!!!! AT LEAST!!!!!!!). So, I commend tptb for that.

Thirdly, was teensy-weensy eeny-meeny bit of Sam/Rodney in there. Well, it wasn't really Sam/Rodney, but I LOVE Rodney's reaction when he heard Sam's voice contacting them from the Apollo :D His face was so squee-worthy, and not to mention the way he says "Sam?!" in that geniunely shocked/surprised "Omg, its HER!!" voice was adorable ^_^ And then, to top it all off was Sam's tone of voice when she replies to him--it just sounded to me that she found his reaction very sweet. There was no annoyance in her voice when she responded; it sounded more like she was very much endeared XD (See how obsessive I am? I read into EVERYTHING :P)

Finally, that scene w/ Teyla packing up Liz's stuff at the end and when Ronon comes in the room. Did it not look like he was definitely trying to comfort her?! I mean, he had his hand on her shoulder and everything...wow :D :D :D

So, regardless of the losing Liz bit, I really loved it. Any thoughts/comments?

SPOILERS FOR LIFELINE!!!SPOILERS FOR LIFELINE!!!

sparklyshimmer2010
probably some spoilers for lifeline here

oh yes, it was great! i did like adrift better, but it had it all. they always end up doing it in a way you cant really complain, you know?

she is so coming back, and john is so gonna have to confess how sad he was because of his undying love for her!!!!! that was definately a sparky ep. he wasnt going to leave her.

i love how she could see all that stuf and how she messed with oberoth was so awesome!! oh yeah, she had her you-cannot-mess-with-me-when-john-is-in-trouble face on.

you do read into stuff? but hey if it makes sense, who can argue i guess? yeah, that scene with ronon and teyla was good. i got really sad though when they showed her fathers pocket watch.

and sam isnt officially there yet! they reall do know how to not make us hatethe fact that she is here on atlantis!

I totally agree with Miss Pookamonga on how shippy "Lifeline" was. Like I've said before, I am a big person for Ronan/Teyla as well as John/Elizabeth, so I absolutely loved the ending where Ronan was comforting her. You can just ask sparklyshimmer2010! We also have season 3 on DVD and I was watching Echoes again. Spoilers for Echoes: I was very excited to see the part again where Ronan touches Teyla's chin and told her to look at him and basically telling her she would be fine! Very very shippy! :)

sparklyshimmer2010
you COULD ask me, but i rather you didnt of course. lol!

no, she was sitting next to me and was obsessing over that part. i was just shut up! but i love her.course i have to.

i would like to state, though i dont know why, that you could very unfortunately read a lot of mcweir ship in adrift and lifeline. normally id have arguments, but the strongest one i have is that she was just his friend. at that isnt a very good one.

Umm...okay...that's weird...maybe it's b/c you checked right after I had just put it up and the site was being stupid and delayed actually showing it, like the way it delays showing reviews for stories.

hey, suprise b-day party, thats awesome! even if they did keep you from stargate, as longas ya get to see it.

for season 5, joe mallozzi said he wanted to explore more relationship, and that sam and keller would probably be back. why im mentioning this though i dont really know.

It would be awesome if they had Sam and Jack on Atlantis! At least that would make me happy about Atlantis! :( I just hope that by relationships he doesn't mean John/Teyla! :( If that happens there's no way I could watch season five!

Saw some of Travelers! But I mostly wanted to see it because I actually went to the set and they said it would be for that episode... went to the convention in canada where they give you a tour of the sets... got to touch the gate and took a picture in the puddlejumper. I even got a hug from Torri Higginson and David Hewlett! :sigh: But they told us about Travelers, so I knew what was gonna happen, but it was just nice to see it and say "I remember walking down that hallway!" :D

very very jealous here. lucky you! bet it was just so so great :)

that what you think.

im gonna start a mutiny against you *smiles wickedly*. good thing im your sis.

john and teyla just dont have good vibes for me. theyre better suited friends and it would make the show very compicated if otherwise.

I got to see it, finally! I actually didn't like it too much (for the most part, Larrin was just plain annoying), but I am sooo jealous that you got to see the set, Andie! >:( AND you hugged Torri and David... :(

I'd probably faint if I ever got within a 10-ft radius of David Hewlett XP

I wonder if his son looks like him, awww :P Baby Hewlett *Squeee*

*ahem*

Anyhoo, don't get me wrong, I LOVE Torri to death too. :D

Oh, and Larrin WAS annoying. The actress was good...the character...don't get me started *rollseyes*

Sheyla just seems a little too retarded to me, I mean we already did it! Sam and Jack were in the same team, loved each other, but couldn't be together. It's just too similar. Plus I tried to get into Sheyla once in season 1 thinking that would be the ship, but when I would read the fan fiction I just didn't get anything out of it. It was just... boring. There was no spark. When I read my first Sam/Jack and Elizabeth/John fan fic I almost passed out from the electricity!!!! It was like a bolt of lightining.

I'd probably try to keep watching because I do absolutely love some of the stories that comes from something so completely original, but I worry it'd lose interest. I have season 1-3 on DVD, I love the story, but I'm starting to wonder who else will die next! Carson was one of my favs, he was made a main character because the fans loved him, and then they kill him off? I'm worried about who else will get kicked off. Not sure I'd like a show like that... it's 24 in space, and I hated 24... everyone dies but Jack!

Meet David was awesome! He was funny and down to earth, and really cute! :sigh: I went to see his movie hoping to meet him, but I got way more than that. He just kinda hung out with us for a bit. We all talked and laughed as if we'd known each other forever. Everyone's like "I'd totally faint" and that's what I said, but once you meet him you can't help but relax and just enjoy it. He's very cool. And his dog is soooo cute!

Meeting Torri was just a dream! It was during the convention and I told her I wanted to give her something, so I was allowed to go on stage and she hugged me for the gift! Afterward I told her about this story I wrote with her in it and she wanted to know all about it. I told her she was with this guy and had a kid, and then added that it just happened to be John's! She cracked up and said, "did I trick him into it?" She just thought that was so cool. Then I asked her if I could pet her dog and she said I could and her dog licked me!!!! :faints: He was sooo sweet. She just looked at me in surprise when he wouldn't stop licking me and said the dog must really like me! :squee: I explained that I had two dogs and was a serious animal loved her. Very down to earth, I love her to death! :D

I would totally go to a convention! I live in the US but I went to Canada for the convention! Totally worth the travel and money! Of course seeing the sets was just a dream come true! I was in total geek heaven! lol

Aww, that's so cool!! They all seem like really genuine people, unlike all those Hollywood crazies we hear about on Entertainment Tonight and all that crap *rollseyes*

Btw, ever notice how all the SG cast either has a dog or kid(s) or both? I think they should all get together and have a Stargate playdate, that would be cute ^_^ Just think, the little kiddies playing w/ mommy and daddy action figures XD

I think that has much to do with the fact that it's not filmed in america. They live and work in canada. It was the same with Farscape. They lived and worked in Australia, where actors aren't quite seen in the same light. The actors are humble because the culture is different. That's one thing I've always hated about america. Everything's just so stupid. As far as I'm concerned their just people and I'm going to treat them like people. I've met rock stars, actors, and writers and every time I've treated them like I would anyone. They have gifts, but everyone does. Some are amazing painters, guitarists, computer experts. Actors always seem to be treated differently and I never got why. Their people. Now if he's cute I might faint... cause well, that's a different story, but just to be like that because they know how to deliver a line or cry doesn't mean they should be treated like the best thing since food. :D

So true. It's so annoying when you here how celebrities will get less jail time or something. If they commit a crime, they should do the time. Just like everyone else.

On a different note, sparklyshimmer, you and I should maybe do some hinting about a convention. It would be a great b-day gift or something. Maybe we should say if we get good grades. I don't know. It would have to be a convention with Torri, David, and/or Joe Flanigan.

yeah Andie, your right. i mean, sure i gues sam and jack sorta got together, but i mean now look whos on atlantis w/out him? I admit i was a shipper for sheyla at first, but when it comes down to it, i didnt enjoy that part of conversion, but was terribly excited over the long goodbye.

"Btw, ever notice how all the SG cast either has a dog or kid(s) or both? I think they should all get together and have a Stargate playdate, that would be cute ^_^ Just think, the little kiddies playing w/ mommy and daddy action figures XD"

*sigh* I hate America's obsession w/ pop culture. I totally agree w/ you, Andie, and I hate the whole "actors are special" thing even worse being an American myself and having to watch that crap every day. >:( It's very disconcerting.

Although...most of the "actors" who are big stars aren't even that great of actors...I mean, all of the kids in The Chronicles of Narnia combined are better actors than Kevin Costner (that man has the most monotone voice in the world--except for Ben Stein, but he does it on PURPOSE, Kevin DOESN'T. I mean, Dances With Wolves would've been a great movie had he not narrated it O_o) And the SIX YEAR OLD girl, Rhiannon Leigh Wryn, in The Last Mimzy, is a WAY better actress than Angelina Jolie, no joke. And she was only SIX--for goodness' sakes she couldn't even READ the script when she was cast for the part and she was phenomenal!! (Not to mention Chris O'Neil, the then 12-year-old who played her brother, was a thrill to watch too--and that was his first movie!) Oh, and for the record, Tom Cruise sucks, and Paris Hilton is NOT an actress. :P

I've noticed that the people who happen to be some of the best actors are those whom the gossip and spotlight don't often focus on, or who intentionally choose (or try desperately) to stay out of the limelight like that. Take Johnny Depp. Now, granted, he does show up in tabloids a lot, but have you ever noticed how uncomfortable he seems to be in all those pics of him? It's like he hates all the paparazzi attention and wants to get away...FAST XP Plus, he's very adamant about shielding his kids from publicity, unlike SOME PEOPLE who love to flaunt the fact that they're having a baby w/ so-and-so or "I'm adopting ANOTHER one from [insert random foreign country name here]!!" or "Look at my cute kid!! Take a picture so I can be popular!" He freaks out if people try to take pictures of his kids--good for him, people shouldn't use their children as publicity ploys.

That's why I like watching Sci-Fi shows. The actors are actually respectable people :)

So, yeah, there's my rant. I like to rant about that kind of thing once in a while. If you check out my profile, you'll see just how much I hate Tom Cruise ^_^ Such a phony...I pity his daughter...I pity his ex-wives...I pity Katie (even though I hate her too) b/c that marriage is not going to last...

And I do wish I could go to a convention...one day...when i'm in college :D

I agree w/ you Miss Pookamonga. its nice to see respectable actors. i mean, all the kids ARE good actors. i dont have much of a rant cause i dont want to waste time focusing on this.

*sigh* I hate America's obsession w/ pop culture. I totally agree w/ you, Andie, and I hate the whole "actors are special" thing even worse being an American myself and having to watch that crap every day. >:( It's very disconcerting.

The only actors I really like in hollywood are Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones and Star Wars) and I do LOVE Johnny Depp because he does a lot of really interesting movies, unique movies. But some of the best shows I think come from other countries... AKA Stargate, Farscape, and Doctor Who being just a few, which is probably why I wouldn't care if I met an actor in hollywood whether in the movies or TV. :D Sometimes America's annoying, which is probably why I LOVE going to other countries so much, and hope to one day MOVE to another country. I really don't blame some countries for distrusting Americans... we must really look horrible to them! :sigh:

But YES! GO TO A CONVENTION! WHATEVER YOU DO! My mom watches Stargate with me a lot, but isn't as obsessed as I am, but even she was in love when we saw the sets! The Convention in Canada is the one that shows you the sets (obviously) so if you can go to one there, but it is VERY expansive. It's 500 dollors for the stuff we got (Autographs/set tour) but I think it was totally worth it if you love Stargate. And it was a added bonus seeing "A Dog's Breakfast" up there... (my favorite movie now!) I've never been to the Comic Cons, but I hear they rock too! :)

My mom used to watch SG1, but stopped after they killed off Daniel and didn't watch it again even when they brought him back. My dad kept watching it though and watches Atlantis with us but he isn't as obsessed either. Sparklyshimmer and I are planning to drop hints about going to a convention for our sweet 16. If there's one around that time of course.

Which is why I wish to remain in my country and represent what it's REALLY supposed to stand for. If I leave, I feel like I'm abandoning it to the Sauron and the Ring of Power... *STUPID MEDIA!! It's all their fault we look like idiots >:( I, for one, am NOT an American Idiot* Trust me, I am scarily patriotic. You should see me freaking out over National Treasure and being such a history nerd/freak on the 4th of July... and getting excited over actually studying the Constitution in U.S. History class b/c I can prove all those stupid people in Congress wrong when they say something is unconstitutional and it really ISN'T. Hey, history is too important to forget, and it's so pathetic that America hardly remembers ANY of its own history...like some random dude on the radio who didn't know what happened on July 4, 1776!! :o Or the people who don't know when the Revolutionary War happened as opposed to when the 1812 War happened as opposed to the Civil War. (HOW do you NOT know what year the 1812 War started in????) I mean, did those poor people of the past sacrifice their lives and their money and their families and their sense of security to just be forgotten by the descendants of the legacy they built? Come on, that just sucks!

So, yeah, another rant. Sorry 'bout that ;D I'll try not to do that anymore. But, honestly, do you see how much of a patriotic freak I am? I told you so XP

Anyhoo, about the convention...waaaah I would LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! to go to ComicCon. There's SOOO many things there I'd want to see, not just Stargate!! Like...this year they had The Spiderwick Chronicles (the movie comes out in Feb!!!!), NARNIA!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D (the 2nd movie comes out MAY 16th!!!!!!!!!!!!), I think Neil Gaiman (Coraline movie comes out next year too!!!!!!!!!!), and of course there's always Star Wars :D, and NARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and I think POTC too, and did I mention NARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Go girl, I'll be the one in another country spreading the word! :D

Wow, someone likes history! :D I do like learning about history, but some of America's history is just soooo ugly! I read this essay about the bombing of Hiroshima and I had tears coming out of my eyes. I don't know how many people know what happened behind that bombing, but it was really for nother, and to read some of the first-hand accounts is just so upsetting. The US didn't even have to do it, Japan was ready to surrender. American has a seriously dark history, and they haven't learned since then, which is the sadest part of it all. It's just so sad.

I don't blame you, I'd LOVE to go to a Comic Con. They have some awesome stuff.

As for the push to go for sweet sixteen guys, DO IT! Use whatever you can to get them to go! You won't regret it.
