Maybe you could read McWeir into "Lifeline" (like I read all that Sam/Rodney into it :P), but I honestly think that there was so much John-Liz serious interaction that the Sparky element completely overpowered all else. For the most part, I just saw Rodney acting as Rodney, in addition to being geniunely concerned about Elizabeth. But his concern just didn't seem to be in the same way as John's...the way they expressed it was very different, and John's attitude toward Elizabeth the whole time was much more protective--not to mention his facial expressions were very shippy. And the part at the end when he tells Sam that if Liz is still alive, they'll get her back--the sureness of determination in his voice is a huge contributing factor to Sparky :D The way he acts in the show whenever Liz gets hurt/could potentially get hurt is, as I said, extremely protective, and he gets really angry if anything should happen to her. That might be due to the fact that he and Liz have had a closer relationship than Rodney seems to have had with Liz, although Rodney does consider her as a friend and holds her in high regard. It just seems to me that John and Liz have a closer personal connection w/ each other and that's why John is so immensely affected by any harm coming to Liz...Which, in sum, means SPARKY :D :D :D

yeah, rodney is just completely scared of losing someone else he was close to, and this time he was going to do everything he could to save her.

i loved how his eyes were when keller told him shed never be the same elizabeth again. so sad, and i guess that statement is still true.

Squee! I'm so excited to see Episode 3, you have no idea. This is the first time I think I've ever watched a show so religiously before... :D (well, except for House, but I missed the last 2 weeks' eps) I would watch SG1 and SGA (reruns, b/c network tv is stupid) on and off on the weekends, and now I'm so obsessed that if I miss one ep I will not stop thinking about it, EVER...I can't stop it from getting into my head at school, either...this week I drew a whole page of mini RodneySam and JohnLiz cartoons on a piece of paper when I got bored :D :D Yep, I'm special XP And such a NERD!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

interesting ep. the beginning was a little wierd, its obvious thy got a new stunt coordinator or something. and whats up w/ all the leather!? it bothers meand my sis but hey, its cool! :D

i wanna know why i kept feeling bad for rodney with his scenes w/ sam? they were funny! (and if she didnt really want to go, she shouldnt have!!! even though i like her. shes obviously not completely comfortable and thats nice to see)

she had another little balcony scene with john. and although it should have been elizabeth out there with him, he was at least trying to mount a rescu misssion.

but has anyone noticed that these two scenes between them mirror other eps? in lifeline he said hed find her, like he told liz bout ford. :O

but then this last one was like when he wanted to go back for sumner and the rest.

Anyhoo...

I just finished watching "Reunion"! I, for one, loved it, like I loved the first two (I also loved "Doppelganger"--that ep got leaked out somehow and somebody already posted it on youtube--it's flippin' AWESOME). Anyway, continuing on...here's what I liked about the ep, in no particular order:

1) TPTB has obviously been right in saying that Sam's transition into her new position is not going to be immediate and/or easy. I like the feeling of uneasiness she seemed to have with being picked up and literally dropped into a very unfamiliar environment, and also her struggle with trying to fit in (as was hinted at very subtly--given her apparent awkwardness and nervousness). The tension created b/t her and Ronon and her and John at the beginning was a very good point in the show--it's what I was hoping for, and I'm glad they actually carried it out. I also like the fact that by the end of the ep, some sort of grounds for friendship were established b/t her and Ronon, however small they were--I have a feeling that Ronon will eventually become as loyal to her as he was to Liz, and that that sentiment will be mutual. Anyway, I thought it was great character development on the part of her character--I think we got to see a less confident, more scared side of Sam than we've usually seen. Also, I like the interaction she had w/ Ronon--very understandable given the circumstances, and not rushed into everything being completely fine and dandy b/t the 2 of them. Obviously, Ronon seems a little shaky about the change in position, but, as I hinted at before, I think both grew into a better sense of respect for each other by the end of the ep, as evidenced by Ronon's saying, "This might be the only op I ever do with you" and Sam's response, "Well, then, we'd better make the best of it."

2) The Teyla-Ronon interaction!! The stuff I read about that happening more often in S4 was obviously correct, too--they had a lot of "alone time" together in this ep. It's nice to see that the two of them got more time on their own to talk, and sort of establish more of their relationship--I don't think we've gotten to see enough of it, and it's nice to know scenes like those they had in "Reunion" may become more frequent.

3) The VERY subtle establishment of the similarities among Teyla, Ronon, AND Sam. I noticed, when Teyla was talking to Ronon about how she felt when she left Athosia, that the 3 of them have at least this one thing in common: they've all left people they care about to go to Atlantis (well, basically--in Ronon's case, it kind of just happened, but he still lost people he loved). I dunno if TPTB intended to establish that message, but if they did, it was actually very brilliant on their part, and it's great grounds for eventual "bonding" among the 3. And I like how the idea of this similarity was further reinforced when Sam went to talk to Ronon about reconsidering his decision to leave. She knew it would be harder for him to leave than he initially realized b/c she had just gone through the same thing herself.

4) John's insistence on a rescue mission. It's nice to see how he's SO INCREDIBLY determined to get Liz back (however similar it might be to the situation w/ Ford...). I read somewhere that she will be in later episodes--my guess is that he does come up w/ a plan that Sam approves and they do end up going to try and save her (hopefully she won't die in one of those eps--that would suck).

5) And, in addition to point 4, I liked that entire balcony scene w/ Sam. It established more awkwardness and unease in her character, and John's repression of his unease w/ her becoming leader. I also liked how she felt bad for him when she told him that he had been on the short list--I think she's feeling kind of guilty for almost "intruding in" on Atlantis. In fact, all those scenes w/ Sam having to turn people's requests down were just so SAD--she really wants to help, and she doesn't want to act like the big meanie invading into their lives, but she knows as the new leader, she can't let anybody rush into anything too soon, for their own safety. I just felt SO bad for her. I mean, if I was in her position I'd feel that way :(

6) More Ronon backstory!! And question of loyalties...that was great. I was predicting his friends would somehow be allied w/ the wraith, but still, I appreciated the dialectic (sense of opposites--sorry, I had to use that big word b/c we use it ALL the time in English class and it's become sort of a norm describing opposites w/ that word...see how nerdy I am?) b/t his loyalty to his old friends and loyalty to his friends on Atlantis. I love how when he heard gunshots coming from somewhere on the Wraith base, he ran off to try and help his team. And the end of that fight was particularly sweet; how when Sam asks him, "Ronon, where are your friends?" He says, "They're right here; come on, let's go home." And I liked that Sam was the one that asked him, b/c when he answered, he was including her in w/ the rest of the team, which was nice ^_^ Gives more evidence to the fact that I think the 2 of them are going to become good friends later on. It was sad, though, how his friends turned on him b/c they were too weak to stand up to the Wraith--after what the wraith had done to Sateda. They were kinda stupid, I think, to say that Malika? and Hemmie? (I have no idea how you spell their names) were too stubborn and that's what killed them. They weren't just stubborn; they were true to what they were fighting for and were willing to sacrifice themselves for what they knew was right. They weren't going to give in to fear and submit themselves just b/c the future seemed to look bleak...just like Ronon. It was sad what happened to them, though--they really did want to help Ronon, but they'd obviously been deluded way too far :(

7) Okay, LAST ONE, I PROMISE!! The SamRodney (squeesqueesqueesquee) interaction. I hope I don't write a book on this topic alone, b/c I have the capability to read SO much into this... Anyway, I loved it. First, Sam's attitude towards Rodney is completely different than before--did you notice how genuinely nice she sounded when she was talking to him? No snide comments (although it's always Rodney that starts the whole banter thing up every time), none of that "you are a complete idiot, McKay" look that she occasionally gives him, just pure SWEETNESS. I think it was b/c she appreciates him a lot more as a friend now than she ever did before; plus, she thought his congratulation gesture (however unintentional) was sweet, as well as his bringing flowers to her :P (Shall I venture to say that I think she thinks he's actually growing cuter by the second? Maybe that's a stretch, but it's possible...) Second, Rodney's attempt to be nice to her when she first arrives was incredibly squee-worthy; he wanted to give her fruit--rofl, just like Rodney. Now, I admit part of his motivation for wanting to give her a gift was probably to try to ease off some of the jealousy he has about her beating him out AGAIN, but, as Amanda Tapping put it in a ComicCon interview, her "superior" intelligence "turns him on", so he was probably trying to impress her too (maybe wanting to come off as more "gentlemanly" XP). Anyhoo, I just love how he immediately jumped to give her flowers right after John practically tells him that his gift is kinda pathetic and that flowers would be better. The poor man is still definitely hopelessly in love w/ her; he still wants to make the perfect impression and will jump at any opportunity to do so ^_^ I also loved how mad he got when Sam told him John had brought the fruit to her and how she thought it was "a very thoughtful gesture"--poor Rodney. Now, on a final (yes, FINAL!) note, there's his very random blurting out that he's "seeing someone" immediately upon going to visit Sam. Here's my interpretation of that. I think the only reason that that was about the first thing he says to Sam was because he wanted to see how she'd react to it (dare I say he wanted to see if she'd act the slightest bit jealous?). Otherwise, why would he have bothered to mention it? If he didn't care how his "relationship" w/ Katie was going to affect her, then what would've been the point of him telling her about it? And the fact that that IS the first thing he mentions is further evidence of the fact that he's still holding out on the hope that Sam might actually *like* him. I mean, why else would that be the first thing to come out of his mouth--if it were for any other reason, that would've been a lot more awkward than the situation already was. I mean, do you really expect him to completely drop all hope of the one woman he's dreamed about being with for years actually returning the feeling, especially when, suddenly, she's now in the same galaxy as he is again, and the idea of a "long-distance relationship" is no longer a problem? Given how *obsessive* he's gotten before, I honestly don't think he's going to let go that easily.

Okay, I wrote a book (sorry!!!!!!) but I had to spill everything; I don't really have anybody with whom to talk about SGA face-to-face (none of my friends watch it? That's a problem :( ), so I had to say it all here...bludgeon me w/ virtual blunt objects if you so desire; I know I probably deserve it :D

PS: Oh, I KNOW I promised that point 7 was the last one, but I lied!! *sorry!!! Does it help if I say "sorry" in that "Cute little Canadian way"???* This last point is SHORT!! 8) TEAL'C was in the ep!! See, toldya it was short ;D

LUCKY!! for once you saw an ep i havent seen yet! yeah, i heard about the leak, but cant find the time to watch it and figure i should just watch it w/ my dad frisay. so no spoilers bout that one quite yet, k? hold it in!

i have a feeling that ronon will become loyal to her as well, but then there might be a tense struggle somewhere after that. i like the fact that they did this ronon ep w/ wanting to leave and all when she was still nervous and just starting. i liked th whole seen at the sgc, b/t her and teal'c though maybe they shoulda put daniel in there (something bout he still cant go! hee hee poor daniel :D)

a lot of people have left behind family for atlantis, but all of them more or less wanted it. more so than those 3 so your right. teyla did it be/c she thought it was best, ronon well he didnt have a lot of choice, that was a good thing for him, and we know all bout sam. so yeah, they definately gave that image to us (btw, teylas planet is athos.

yes that would completely suck if she died!!! no, liz is gonna be in the mid season finale "This Mortal Coil" and then one more. i would sort assume that it would be the premier, but who knows!

that balcony, or i guess any balcony, must be a sort of safe-haven. giving a sense of peace or at least a sense that everything wont stay as terrible as it is at the moment.

it is nice that sam will get to see the better sides of rodney now. and i found it hilarious when she called "sheppards" gift very thoughtful! poor rodney on taht, so insecure w/ her to listen to john like that but yet still so confident! (i thoought the interview w/ amanda and david was so funny!? how did you take the whole "please-sam-and-rodney-dont-get-together-thing? or is that the right interview?)

Yep, I think you've got the interview I was referring to. The one w/ the woman freaking out about Sam and Rodney getting together? Yeah, well, that REALLY annoyed me; she was so adamant about the whole "PLEASE DON'T GET TOGETHER!!" thing that it got on my nerves and I was like "gaaah!! stoppit!!" Honestly, I think she was a *bit* over-the-top in her opposition to the pairing; I mean, she KEPT SAYING "please don't get together, I hope you don't" blah blah blah Ugh, once is enough!! :P There is another ComicCon interview about the Sam/Rodney relationship in S4, and it's quite funny--Amanda's like, "I like kissing David Hewlett; I'll take that opportunity...and I'm not afraid to say it." ROFL! XDXDXP

I know I can write a lot. I do that with EVERYTHING I write. It's so bad that I actually have trouble writing SHORT English papers as opposed to writing long ones. >_< It's good for stories, I guess, but not for the AP English exam, Hahaha (not). I mean, writing 3 essays in the span of 1 hr and 30 min?? That sounds like a lot of time, but trust me, w/ all the detail that those stupid College Board people want you to put into a 2-pg essay, it's SO HARD that I think I'm going to kill brain neurons come exam time in May...

Btw, speaking of Keller? What do you think of the potential Keller/Ronon ship that might end up happening? I was against it at first, b/c I thought Teyla/Ronon would work better, but now I'm honestly starting to think Ronon could go either way...something about Keller/Ronon just seems so cute to me. Keller's a "fraidy-cat", as Jewel Staite said, and Ronon...well, he's the big, strong dude--I think it would be interesting to see the interaction b/t the 2. Not that Teyla/Ronon isn't cute either; the 2 of them have a lot in common, and given that they're both "outsiders" on Atlantis could give them good grounds for a deeper relationship. So, anyhoo, whaddya thinK?

XDXDXD LMHO!!!!!!! I love how they all assume the same thing about Rodney's dream XDXD HAHAHAHA! And then when he actually told them what it was...omg that was SO flippin' HILARIOUS!! "She was serving LEMON chicken, okay, LEMON? And then it turns out that the only reason she invited me was to tell me that she was promoting Zelenka over me!" HAAAAAAA!! But his last line was PRICELESS: "And...then I got eaten by a whale."

*DIES LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY* Poor Rodney, now I understand why he's so scared of whales--his dad read him Moby Dick when he was 7, and the nightmares haven't stopped since. Poor wittle Wodney! XP

Gosh, I never realized how many funny scenes were in this ep until now...ironic, since it was REALLY FREAkY!! Especially Keller's dream...geez, that was DISGUSTING!

Okay, how many more funny things? Oh, yeah, there's the part when they're all talking about the movie Alien, and RIGHT AFTER Rodney tells them how he threw up over this girl while watching it, Ronon says, "I have got to see this movie." XDXD HAHAHAHA! And then, the part before then, when Rodney says, "Y'know how when girls get scared, the crawl up over your shoulder"--Teyla's response was SO funny! "Your planet has some very strange customs..." ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XDXDXD

The part at the very beginning when they first found the crystal was hilarious too, how Rodney's like, "I AM a science team!" XDXD Bwhaaha I wanted to burst out laughing at that part... And then Ronon grabbed him by the neck and dragged him away, omg that was so funny XDXD

When they returned to the planet to put back the crystal...lol that was total genius!! They put the crystal back, and then...all of them start lighting up all over the jungle HHAHAHAHA, and then Rodney says, "I have an idea. Let's get out of here!" And John says, "Yeah, good idea!" ROFL XDXDXD

And then the end after John throws his alter ego out through the stargate...lol

Rodney: Which one are you?

John: Me!

Rodney: Good you, or bad you?

John: ME, me! ...Is that...you...you?

Rodney: I think so...Okay, this is really weird.

John: You're telling me.

Rodney: ...Y'know, I thought there'd be...more hot girls.

John: Yeah...

XDXDXDXD *sigh* Those two...LMHO they could seriously be brothers XP

On a more serious note...

I don't get why they killed off Heightmeyer...I guess they were thinking, "We've got to establish just how dangerous this entity is and that it can be fatal", so they decided to kill off the most "expendable" person in the cast for that episode...which kinda sucks for Claire Rankin, really.

I thought the scene at the end was sweet, too, although it kinda made me sad since it reminded me that neither Liz or Carson was there :_( But I like how it established that they're a new family now :)

Oh, and Lorne WAS kinda cute in this ep ^_^ teeheeeee *covers face* I'm not blushing in any way, shape or form... *shifty eyes*

my mom actually asked why we were laughing and we said something about someone being afraid of a clown and she was like rodney? Heck No!

(my mom watched sg1 until they killed of daniel, kinda dissapointing. anyway she likes trek better...*scowl*)

I almost stopped watching SG-1 when they killed off Daniel b/c I really liked him and I was DEVASTATED when he actually died :o But then, I ended up liking Jonas just as much; he was absolutely hilarious! Then they brought good ol' Danny Boy back...(which really confused me, lol), and then Jonas disappears and he NEVER comes back??? THAT made me mad :p

Funny, I used to ship him w/ Sam. I hated Rodney when he was on SG-1. Then I saw "Grace Under Pressure" and I started kinda watching SGA, and I totally fell in love with him; he is the funniest TV show character (along w/ House :P). And I think he's cute ^_^

i watched atlantis from the beginning and was immediately obsessed and loved mckay too! so i actually saw the episodes w/ him on sg1 after atlantis, so i couldnt quite hate him.

daniel was my favorite character. and near the end i just loved valas character. i pair her w/ daniel, but she also belongs to tomin. hes in the upcoming movie, so at least we know hes still alive! right...?

I've only seen a few eps w/ Vala and Tomin...I kinda did stop watching SG-1 for a really long time after Jack left...and then I started watching again and everything had changed, so I just got REALLY confused and didn't really watch it too much anymore, although I still liked it. :-/ Yeah, go ahead and kill me ^_^ But that's when I started watching SGA!! XD

i just think daniel and vala are so cute, and the eps w/ them are so hilarious!!!

Oh, and I haven't seen "Travelers" yet, so I didn't read the other comment, but I did see that Sam apparently isn't in it :_(

I thought it was okay, but honestly I thought that the whole "introduction of a new group of technologically advanced people!!" was kinda pointless. I mean, is it really that necessary to revert to cliche sci-fi tactics? They could've made it more interesting, but they focused too much on the John-Larrin conflict/relationship, and that clouded any chance of really good plot development. Oh, and Larrin was annoying beyond belief. *sigh* Was this episode another excuse to have John going head-to-head with yet ANOTHER woman? At least it wasn't as shippy as I thought it was going to be.

Anyhoo, that's my opinion. :)

i didnt like the ending, and they had no clues whatsoever if wed see them again. larrin was annoying, but i still like her. that happens way to often with me.

but anyway, cant wait till the next ep. THAT one looks interesting.

Adrift was awesome! so was Lifeline, if not a bit sad bout liz (well VERY sad for me)

but doppelganger was ok. i dont know it was the way the lighting was and it was just missing *something*. not sure.....

IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!! I LOVED IT! :D rodney was soooooo sweet, i like katie so im glad they didnt kill her off too. i love how they are all being kept by the soldiers and when they escaped, that was great! i just loved zelenka, and i did feel bad for lorne at the end.

for some reason i like eps where they do the whole earlier/present thing.

and it just makes ronon and teyla so normal to say theyve been sick w/ that thing at 8 and 10. like "i had the chicken pox when i was 1. (which i did by the way, i caught it the day before my b-day)

anyway, it was really really good, i think it was well done.
