Force ChildTopic: Feeling the nudge from the Force?
Take revenge by posting on New Hope. A plea, a petition if you will. Flood the gateway. Bombard Lucasfilms with letters to accept our comments and new ideas. Come back to the fan base George. We need you on Yavin IV, the Rebel Base. Listen to fandom for once. We won't burn you Lucas. We just want to help. Whether you agree or disagree, please post your opinion. |
|
Comrade ClausHmmm, I wonder how many millions of fans are needed to convince him? |
|
LeiathecrazyjeditimetravelerI'm signing the petition. Everyone knows writers work best together. I guess here we would say: Good advantage we have when together. Almost invicible are we. (sorry Lucas, for reversing Yoda's quote) |
|
Comrade ClausGood advantage together we have. Almost invincible we are. ^_^ Petition? |
|
LeiathecrazyjeditimetravelerThis is sort of a chatroom I guess, mostly we need to get people to sign it. Lucas just needs to sign a new contract with different writers. I don't like the turn EU has taken, I don't know if any of you feel the same way. |
|
BleedingThornsOfARedRoseHa, I have no clue where you are going with this since I've only read a little EU. I know Star Wars is a big film, but I don't see why Lucas wanted books. Though I agree with Leia Blade of the Jedi. The newer books--from what I've skimmed through--seem a little... I don't know. I suppose strange or weird or off. | #6 Oct 24th 2008, 11:29am

Force ChildLucas doesn't really care whether his movies are turned into books or not. He's just in it for the bucks. True fans of the saga can't get enough of it. That's why so many have written stories and posted them on this site. The main objective of this forum is for unknown writers to publish their work. We want the fans to start writing his mega-corporation to be allowed that chance. I, for one, have tried to send the synopsis of a novel I've written about Star Wars to many literary agencies. None wants to take on "Lucasfilms" to get permission to do such. I've even written to Lucasfilms directly, and they stated that they aren't allowed to even open any mail regarding Star Wars. That's why it is so important for us to band together. We have to let the "great man" know that we can contribute so much. If only... | #7 Oct 24th 2008, 12:56pm

BleedingThornsOfARedRoseAh. I get it now. Honestly, I've read stories on this site that are, in my personal opinion, better than many books. It sucks that they can't open mail related to Star Wars. That doesn't even make sense. Oh, well, you have my support, as much as I can give. | #10 Oct 24th 2008, 1:02pm

|
Force ChildIf you want to support us and see some of these stories published, write to Lucasfilms and complain to them. That is what this site is for. Tell your friends to write and complain too. We need all the help we can get! | #11 Oct 24th 2008, 1:26pm
|
|
BleedingThornsOfARedRoseI'll do that. Dear, you're very passionate about this. :) I pledge my help, okay? I've got a lot of SW friends. | #12 Oct 24th 2008, 1:29pm

|
Force ChildI'm sure everyone here will appreciate that, and yes, I am very passionate about this. I poured my heart and soul into my novel. I think it is good enough to be published, but that will only happen if Lucas gives his permission. Once unknown authors can claim they have such permission, it could open the door for them. I have Lucasfilms address somewhere in my files. I'll find it and post it on this site. Thanks for your support. Don't forget to get your friends to check this forum out. The more responses we get, the better. We could even copy and paste them into a letter and send it, letting Lucas know how many people support our efforts. | #13 Oct 24th 2008, 1:53pm

Force ChildDidn't take me long to find this at all. Good thing I'm organized. If you're serious about writing Lucas, here's his address: George Lucas - LucasFilm Ltd. - 5858 Lucas Valley Rd. - San Rafeal, California 94946 I also found the letter that was sent to me from Lucasfims. I'm posting it so everyone will know how they responded to my letter. "The material you sent to Lucasfilm Ltd. has been forwarded to me for a response. We appreciate your interest in our company; however, because your correspondence contains unsolicited creative ideas or projects, we must return your material to you unread. Accordingly, you will find your materials enclosed. Lucasfilms has a long-standing policy of returning any unsolcited submission, idea, or project without reading or reviewing it. We hope you understand our need to consistenly apply this policy. We appreciated you interest in our company and hope you maintain your enthusiasm for our productions. Thank you for your interest in Lucasfilms." Sincerely, Nora Bishop Lucasfilms Ltd., Business Affairs That's the response I got, word for word. Publishing houses give the same response. Without an agent to represent you, an unknown author doesn't stand a chance. That's why it's so important to get permission from Lucas. So, please, pass the word and have you friends do the same. I, and many others, will be eternally in your debt if it works. May the Force be with you... | #14 Oct 24th 2008, 2:17pm . Edited Oct 24th 2008, 2:20pm

LeiathecrazyjeditimetravelerI will try desperatly and find actually the SKYWALKER RANCH address, hopefully then Lucas will read it in person, or at least someone. I have a friend of a friend that might be able to help with this. I'm sure Lucas isn't all that bad personally, most Hollywood people aren't from what I hear Just have to get to the "main reactor" and then we might get results. May the Force be with you, my friends. | #16 Oct 24th 2008, 4:30pm

Force ChildHe probably is a very nice person, but he's become what he once hated - a corporation. There's so much we don't know about him. It must be an awful responsibility. Have to admire him, no matter what he's become. After all, if he hadn't written SW, we wouldn't even be on this site complaining... | #17 Oct 24th 2008, 5:41pm

LeiathecrazyjeditimetravelerI think the poor guy is trying desperatly to get back to his roots: anamation. Maybe this is why Clone Wars (however corny it is) is this avenue. Maybe all part of the plan. I saw Lucas early history on a special on Reelz Channel THE DIRECTORS i suppose it should be on their site. just google it. Funny thing is, I'm watching Clone Wars right now. | #18 Oct 24th 2008, 6:00pm

Force ChildYou're probly righ on all counts. I will google that. Thanks. -- I forgot Clone Wars was on. I have to admit, I have watched it. Still think it's dumb. Can't help it. But it is all we have! The book is good, so far. Left it at work, so I can't read any more this weekend. Makes me want to go to work. (Need some motivation!) | #19 Oct 24th 2008, 6:30pm

Comrade ClausMotivation? Just watch anime! It has anything you want! Has anyone read my FF? That unsolicited thing is BS. Just like politics. You gotta 'know' 'people'. That's why i started writing on FF, so my original novels gert published. By the way SMABB ma'am, it's been some time since you updated your story. (I should talk, it's been months since if done anything!) If you can watch videos online, you really should watch YouTube. 'Samurai X Hallelujah' is a beautiful video. As is 'Wolfwood Hallelujah'. 'Far Away Bleach' is another heart touching AMV. Let me know when you see it! | #20 Oct 25th 2008, 10:13am

Force ChildHi. Tried to watch anime, but just can't get into it. Finally watched episode 3 - was okay. Liked the 3D effect. I will be watchingthe clone warssince it's all we have now. I watched it thru my starwars account. There's more I have to watch. | #21 Oct 25th 2008, 10:47am

Comrade ClausWhat anime have you seen? Sometimes it takes a few episodes to grow on you. I had to beat my mom at scrabble (no easy feat) To get her to watch Midori Days. She eventually started to like it. I can't stand the unrealistic body types on the Clone Wars CGI. anakin is too gangly. Asoka is cute! though. Tales of Symphonia is like Star Wars (it's a video game.) | #22 Oct 26th 2008, 5:36am

Force ChildI'm not sure what it was, but it was on the sci-fi channel. I'm really into horror, but just could not get into it. It was about a vampire or something.I like the 3d effect in some of the cartoons they have on disney and the cartoon channel.(my great nephew comes over and turns them on.) It's good enough to get me to watch. Always been amazed how they create special effects. Anyway, I agree about your remark on the clone wars cgi. Story lines are a little weak. Like Asoka. She's got spunk and has a stubborn streak. (like me) My mother always told me my stubborness would be my downfall. Guess she was right. But... if it wasn't for my stubborn nature, I'd have given up on my attempt to publish my novel long ago and would have never found this site. Stubborness comes in handy some times. - Don't have playstation or anything to play videogames on. Don't have extra $ to download them either. Was tempted to download "Force unleashed" and"Revenge"games.Maybe x-mas? | #23 Oct 26th 2008, 8:38am

Comrade ClausMaybe you can rent a video game system? Or maybe a friend has one. I got my Gamecube real cheap. I also got Symphonia for only $20. I don't watch SciFi, though I did catch 'The Ghost in the Shell movie' on that channel. They blurred out the nudity. But the woman had an artificial body. Basically a manequinn w/ a soul, hence the title. Have you ever seen a starlit sky on anime? It's so full of stars! American cartoon night skies are sooo lacking in detail! How many character deaths have made you cry? Yoda?, Obi-wan? Padme? Shmi? Ani? How about prime time? Like on CSI or NCIS or Desperate housewives, or Lost? NOPE!!! Not a tear from me! Ghost does only cause of that damn whitelight at the end, that's like using tear gas to get some sobs! Now watch an anime like Inuyasha! This one youths death really brought tears to my eyes! The finale of Blood Plus made me weep also! And a death in Naruto made me cry, as it was snowing in the middle of summer, as if nature was paying homage to the Heroes death, since they were from a viliage in the mountains! | #24 Oct 27th 2008, 9:20am

Force ChildI might just do that, but right now I'm trying to edit my stories. I got a card in the mail for a contest. 1st. prize is $3,000. Going to send "Brainless" in, I guess. I have to trim it down to under 10,000 words. Do you think its good enough to send in? Do you remember what it was about? Let me know. | #25 Oct 27th 2008, 10:07am

Comrade ClausWhat kind of contest? I think it is good, but you took it off before I could finish it. Good luck! | #26 Oct 28th 2008, 5:42am

Force ChildHere the address for the mag. contest: - NarrativeMagazine.com - entry deadline is november 30. (all entries online) If you log on the it, it will give you the guidelunes to enter. -- I can send you the story (brainless) in a private message, but it won't all fit. I could email it to you, but you'd have to give me your email address. (you could send it to me in a private message.) I started to send it to Liea Blade of the Jedi last night through her pm, but I sent too many messages. You're only allowed 30 a day. What??? I guess I talk too much! | #27 Oct 28th 2008, 12:40pm

Force ChildHi Jonas, I tried numerous times to send you brainless through your email on the private messaging page, but it just would not go through. Delivery failed cause they said you didn't have a yahoo acount. I'll try yet another time. If not, I'll send it through pm. I'll probably have to go through in stages though. Okay, just sent you a message on your email. Let me know if you get it. Guess not. Just checked to see if it went through and delivery failed again. Same reason. They say you don't have an account. I'll send brainless through pm later. | #29 Oct 29th 2008, 12:38pm . Edited Oct 29th 2008, 1:05pm
