M. Burusuhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t64cfxnKkUI ^ My IRL theme, 'E.G.G.M.A.N.'. Note that the music itself only starts at the guitar -- there's an 'opening scene' to this GMV. Either way, you can guess from this that I'm an 'evil genius' of sorts, even though I'm also a 'hero'. As for the two characters I have . . . I can't help but have more than one theme for my characters -- there's just too many for me to pick! So, I've got them organized into archetypes so that each character has a theme for every occasion! Theme Archetypes . . . - Fanfare Theme: the theme that plays at the character's introduction or during an important scene involving them or which they are central to. It's kind of like their main theme, in a way. - Dynamic Theme: the theme that plays during a dynamic battle or conflict with the character; for example, if the character is the source of a major problem, or if their victory or defeat will have a major impact on the storyline. - Determined Theme: the theme that plays during a battle or trial when the character's mettle is tested or where they are extremely driven. For example, say a Team Rocket member has stolen Gabriel from Marrowchan -- this theme will play if Marrowchan fights that Team Rocket member. - Battle Theme: the theme that plays during a normal battle with the character. For example, if Marrowchan were to be in a battle that doesn't have a major impact on the storyline, this music would play. - Demented Theme: the theme that plays while the character is angry or temporarily off their rocker (like when Marrowchan was fighting during Battle Gym). (Demented Battle Theme: the theme that plays during a battle with the character while they are angry or off their rocker.)? - General Theme: the theme that plays during general interaction with the character; for example, if Alyssa was one of the lead characters in an RPG, and she talked to Marrowchan, or there was a scene centering on Marrowchan's actions (but not her intro scene), Marrowchan's General Theme would play. _-M. Burusu's Themes-_ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SITtJDz5X0&feature=related ^ "E.G.G.M.A.N. Doc Robeatnix Mix" by REMIX Factory ft. Paul Shortino, from the game Shadow the Hedgehog, would be M. Burusu's 'Fanfare Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because M. is a self-proclaimed 'evil genius', and not only that but because of my IRL theme being "E.G.G.M.A.N.", and M.'s personality is based off of a portion of my IRL personality (Marrowchan is based off of another portion of my personality). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CaBHg3E1Zw&feature=related ^ This remix of "Suspicious Cook", Dr. Baldhead's theme from Guilty Gear (the original game; this is the remix from the Guilty Gear Sound Complete Box's 8th disc), would be M. Burusu's 'Dynamic Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because of the fact that Dr. Baldhead, or should I say Faust (that's the name he goes by, paper sack and all, in subsequent games), is a doctor without equal whom happens to have his own sense of good (read his Wikipedia article to see what I mean), and not only that, but it's got a fairly fast pace. EDIT: I finally found a Youtube video of the theme! Pay little attention to the pic of Baldhead in the background, though . . . kinda creepy... www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMkLIFSo8-M&feature=related ^ "The Vampire Saga", Slayer's theme from Guilty Gear XX #Reload; this would be M. Burusu's 'Dynamic Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because of the fast pace (a complement to M.'s own), the organic tones (and by 'organic' I mean 'reminiscent of an ORGAN, the instrument', not 'natural'), and because Slayer has his own sense of justice, and seeks the truth in his own way (to see what I mean, hunt down his storyline from the original Guilty Gear XX and read about his actions). http://youtube.com/watch?v=Xr-182Rg9r8 ^ "Vortex Infinitum", Robo-Ky's normal battle theme from Guilty Gear XX #Reload, is M.'s 'Battle theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because Robo-Ky is one of my favorite characters from the Guilty Gear series, he's an oddball, M.'s a big machine fan (in addition to his love of Ghost-types), and because the mechanical tones complement M.'s extreme love for machinery (wait until you see what his gym will look like . . . simply hellish). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJqEGxlNHSQ ^ "Holy Orders?", Robo-Ky's EX battle theme from Guilty Gear XX #Reload, is M.'s 'Demented Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Well, not only is the song rather warped-sounding as it is, but Robo-Ky is also very strange (as an example of how strange he is . . . the word on his belt, 'ennui', means 'boredom'), and not only that but the character to whom the original theme "Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead)" which the song is based off of, Ky Kiske, has a strong sense of justice -- the way M. has his own sense of heroism and justice despite his status as an 'evil genius'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dll0opu5D6g&feature=related ^ "Weapons Factory", the background music to Smithy's factory from Super Mario RPG (for the Super Nintendo), is M.'s 'General Theme'. For the reason why I picked this one . . . it's a calm, methodical, mechanical song, with a military march to it, like clockwork in a way -- and it's that sort of clockwork that M. adores, for to him clockwork is like an intricate, elegant design where everything fits together perfectly (" . . . just like the way man percieves the cosmos, and while I'm not sure if that's right or wrong, it sure is beautiful -- and scary -- to think of it like that." - M. Burusu, about clockwork). EDIT: Wow! Amazing what you can find on Youtube these days! Used to be I couldn't find it at all on Youtube, but now . . . SWEET! HAHA! _-Marrowchan's Themes-_ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_U5rx0A7wGs&feature=channel_page ^ "Black Soul", Zato-1's theme from Guilty Gear (the first Guilty Gear game, that is), is Marrowchan's 'Fanfare Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because of the darkly playful melody -- the piano, the guitar, the xylophone, the chorus just barely perceptible in the background at times (this song is recommended for headphones, in my opinion, for a lot of it is lost otherwise) -- and because of a certain connection between the two of them (originally, one of Marrowchan's abilities was to use a Chipsio Weaponized Body, which is meant to exist in the user's shadow -- imagine my surprise when I learned that Eddie was a bioweapon himself . . . ). EDIT: W00T! Found this one on Youtube as well! Swell! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLLExcPfxug&feature=related ^ "In The Arms of Death", Testament's theme from Guilty Gear XX #Reload, which is Marrowchan's 'Dynamic Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because the rhythm and the music fits Marrowchan's personality and style of battle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o70tJ9JbjCg ^ "Keep in Gates", A.B.A.'s theme from the Guilty Gear game series, which is Marrowchan's OTHER 'Dynamic Theme'. As for why Marrowchan has a second 'Dynamic Theme', well . . . it has to do with that demented rage she was in during Battle Gym . . . OK, so it's the 'Dynamic Theme' that plays when she's flipped out like that -- I can't help but feel that it's necessary (and I may reveal why later, if I decide to go through with the nefarious plans). Why did I pick this one? Because of the church organ tones, the calm beginning which turns into the rapid tempo that makes up most of the song, AND because of a certain special game mechanic exclusive to A.B.A. in the Guilty Gear games she's been in -- that is, the way she can enter a self-destructive, stronger mode during combat to both deal significant damage to foes but to also unlock certain techniques of hers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGAy8Nisgw0&feature=related ^ "The Great Empress", Millia Rage's theme from Guilty Gear XX #Reload, which is Marrowchan's 'Determined Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Well, Marrowchan has her own share of inner demons, and not only that but Millia Rage herself is a very determined character, a lady with a mission -- to kill Zato-1, in all irony (considering how Marrowchan's 'Fanfare Theme' and 'Demented Theme' belong to Zato-1/Eddie). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ5ugUICTy8&feature=channel_page ^ "A Fixed Idea", Testament's theme from Guilty Gear (the original game), is Marrowchan's OTHER 'Determined Theme', for when she's flipped out. Why did I pick this one? Because it's fairly fast-paced throughout the entirety of the song, but it's also the theme to Testament, whose #Reload theme is normal-Marrowchan's 'Dynamic Theme' . . . so it's kinda fitting that psycho-Marrowchan's second 'Determined Theme' is one of his . . . and not only that, but Testament also possesses a rather stern sort of determination (I mean, look at the way he protects Dizzy!) . . . EDIT: Found a Youtube of this one, too!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDdXlxtcnJk&feature=related ^ "Pillars of the Underworld", Ky Kiske's battle theme from Guilty Gear XX #Reload, is Marrowchan's 'Battle theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because it's the theme of the antithesis to Robo-Ky -- courageous, righteous Ky Kiske, who cares for the lives he protects . . . as opposed to the eccentric, prideful Robo-Ky, whom happens to be the robot clone of Ky (to be perfectly honest, there's more than one Robo-Ky, but I'm going on the one that's NOT slumped-over in battle). Not only that, but there's also the combination of classical and rock that is featured within the song (it uses both a rocking guitar and a violin, if I'm not mistaken, not to mention the very beginning of it happens to feature a harp), which also reflects Marrowchan's personality in a way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTZIkZbyVrM ^ "Dementia" (Eddie's theme) from Guilty Gear XX #Reload, which is (fittingly enough) Marrowchan's 'Demented Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because it sounds completely, utterly deranged, something out of a horror movie . . . that, and because Marrowchan's 'Fanfare Theme' is for the same character . . . sort of. In Guilty Gear, Zato-1 controls a shadow-creature named 'Eddie' and uses him as a weapon, but by Guilty Gear XX Zato-1 is officially dead, leaving Eddie in control of the assassin's corpse (hence why it's EDDIE's theme and not Zato-1's). The fact that Eddie is a semi-seperate entity from Zato-1 is also one of the reasons the song fits as Marrowchan's 'Demented Theme', considering the personality shift from bright-and-cheery to psychopathic-and-cheery that she experiences when she gets that kind of angry. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMjoCD0sCWk ^ "Mystic Mansion", the background music for the stage 'Mystic Mansion' in the game Sonic Heroes, is Marrowchan's 'General Theme'. Why did I pick this one? Because it is just that awesome. Not only that, but it's quirky, semi-spooky, and Halloween-friendly -- all words that can describe Marrowchan. Not only that, but if you pay close enough attention to the music, you might find yourself a little disoriented, and it's all due to the use of headphones... what do I mean by that? Hunt the track down, download it, and listen to it with headphones to find out! _-And an apology-_ Sorry for the length of this post -- I just have a problem choosing just one thing, that's all. Again, sorry! | #12 Mar 29th 2008, 10:57pm . Edited Mar 02nd, 8:10pm | |
