WhiskeyTangoFoxtrotDodger Gilmore strikes again, and this time with the first part of an 8 part Michael/Ginny fic. And I adore her Michael :-) Falling In Love, Falling Apart: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4951139/1/ She nails Michael (well, at least the way I play him in my head!) and her Ginny's very realistic in her teenagery-ness. A really good start, yet again. And it feeds into her Padma story, which, if you haven't started reading it, well, you should ;-D Hogwarts According to Padma Patil: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4887778/1/Hogwarts_According_To_Padma_Patil |

Bad MumYet more stories I am sadly behind on. Bother this real life thing! |
Bad MumEdges Best Marauders/Peter's betrayal story I have ever read. Read it now... |
respitechristopherFrom the Lady Altair Fanboy Society: Kicking Down Castles A story about young summer love. Draco and an American OFC, if you can believe it. |
Bad MumSeconding the rec for Lady Altair's latest. Just gorgeous (even if I haven;t reviewed it yet). |
Sara WintersCurrently reading Rumours. Because nothing says HP realism like all the girls lusting after Draco. Fun bonus: I shall be making an appearance at some point. Really looking forward to that. |

respitechristopherHey, so who wants a really good, really dark and angsty read? The story is called "Calm Inside the Storm," and it's a Scorpius/Ginny. Yep. My first time seeing that pairing, too. Author rates it at NC-17 for infidelity, crossgen, breathplay, painplay, sexual situations, etc. Me? I think it's a hard R (think "unbearable lightness of being") for sexytimes and mild BDSM. Anyway, it's hot as hell and a complete mindfvck of a read. Enjoy! http://community.livejournal.com/nextgendarkfest/8095.html |

PerspicacityI found this one to be a breath of fresh air: Grimm: A Fairy's Tale. Pre-Hogwarts. The stuff of legends, myth and majesty were the realm of the Fey long before wizards named him Boy Who Lived. Maeve of the Unseelie Court has decided to take one of wizarding kind's myths, to shape as her own. Vastly AU. My take: The story is indeed vastly AU, but in a very pleasant way. Lily's pleas to save her son's life attract the attention of the Winter Queen, who rules the Unseelie court. Harry indeed has a fairy godmother, which imparts fay characteristics upon him, and he becomes a fairy princeling. Nowadays, not many pre-Hogwarts tales interest me, but this one had me spellbound. The writing is evocative and the world ceded to the Magical has the kind of wonder one would expect in a modern fairy tale. Truly excellent writing. And, *gasp*, it's complete. This story is the first installment of many. |
StarkillerThat story sounds wonderful and right up my alley! The fanfic I'm writing at the moment also deals with the Unseelie Court and the Winter Queen, two of my very favourite old stories. I absolutely love reading stories about old folklore, so I will most definitely be giving this fic a read, especially as it appears to adhere to classical folklore structure. Thank you very much for the reccommendation! |

StarkillerVita Persevero by Realmer06: A must read for Luna Lovegood fans, particularly if you're partial towards the Dean/Luna pairing. I don't actually think I possess the words to describe how well written this one-shot is, not to mention how in character everyone is. Beautiful read, 10/10. In addition to that, I give you yet another Luna-centric fanfic, Bad Mum's Of MudCovered Packages and Understanding, a lovely one-shot friendship (post DH) fic featuring George and Luna. Another 10/10 for perfect characterisation. |

Locked in a Stony TowerDunno if anyone's mentioned it, but the Unbroken Universe by Robin4 is about the most amazing thing ever...there are three or four...i forget which...but anyways, they're all full lenght fics, the first one is called Promises Unbroken... it's an AU where Sirius was the Potter's secret keeper and then it just goes with all the things that could change from there...Really amazing... |
Bad MumDo you have a link to that? |
Locked in a Stony Towermmm...yes...lemme go get it... http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1248431/1/Promises_Unbroken there, the first story...the other stories are on the author's page... |
Bad MumThis is a gorgeous child Neville/Augusta Longbottom story, with honourable mention of Uncle Algie. It definitely deserves more reviews: In_My_Garden |
Bad MumJust read my way through this writer's published works (4 so far). Definitely worth a look - mostly Remus and Lily, but there's the beginning of a Justin Finch-Fletchley longer story that I'm dying to see more of. M_Poe I've sent her an invite to join us here - please make her welcome if she takes me up on it! |
respitechristopherDefinitely worth a look Agreed. please make her welcome if she takes me up on it! Hmm. We'll see... |
FibinaciThanks for the recommend on Robin4's series, it was really good, probably the best non-Harry centric story I can rememmber. My current most waited for update is for "A true daughter of the Black" by 1411eastwest, it's one of those ones where EVERY chapter you just sit there in awe that someone would think that up. Its post-DH, ignores teh epilogue, is kinda crackish but plays out completely seriously and there's deaths galore. |
silverbirchRight, not just a story, but a whole new author. The story is http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5538558/1/In_Which_the_Princess_Rescues_the_Dragon Andromeda has been forced out of her house after the war and is staying at The Burrow. The Weasleys as you've never seen them before, and a unique view on Dora and Remus. The writer is http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1994264/Vera_Rozalsky |
Bad MumOh, that looks interesting... |
respitechristopherBest. Harry/Luna post-War Epilogue-What-Epilogue. Ever. http://community.livejournal.com/soapboxblues/7007.html It's like angst on a stick. |
silverbirchI'm reading (and appear to be the only one) http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5538558/1/In_Which_the_Princess_Rescues_the_Dragon Vera Rozaslky is one great writer and she's created a marvellous story. Andromea Tonks has to leave her home after the war and takes refuge at The Burrow. If you ever wanted to know what the Weasleys were really like (especially Molly), go and find out. Something's up with Hermione, too. There are hints, but no confirmation yet. It is stunning. |
silverbirchSorry, hadn't realised I'd already mentioned it. Why aren't you reading it then? A new chapter is just up. |
