wooster182Topic: Group challenge! Everyone needed! "A Getty Guide to Good Lovin'"
Okay, guys, we were discussing in chat that we want to make "A Getty Guide to Good Lovin'" which would be like a dating rule book. Together, we could come up with chapters and then each of us volunteers to at least write one chapter. We need to discuss what topics we'd like to write about and how we're going to write them. In Gio's voice? Will we write one-shot fics with the topic as the main theme? When we start to write the chapters, we can upload the fic to fanfiction. |
angelgrl0284Should it be in Gio's voice or in the voice of a Getty? Both? Is it going to be actual fics or more a basic guide? Or a combination? Maybe a oneshot for each rule with an explination by the Getty at the end of the importance of the rule? Does that make sense? |
wooster182I was hoping you'd help decide! I like the idea of it being in both the voice of Gio and Betty. And I also like the idea of giving an explanation of the rule and then following it up with a one-shot. Good ideas, Angel! Is that what you want to do? Anybody else? |
angelgrl0284So you're thinking it will be in an omniscient point of view then, so that we can hear what both Betty and Gio are thinking? I like that idea. Yes, explain the rule, then the one-shot showing the rule in use. I don't have any other ideas at the moment, but when I come up with some, I'll mention them. |
wooster182Omniscient? I was agreeing with your idea, not coming up with my own. LOL. Omniscient would work then we could do a one shot, but what I was saying in the other post that we could do one chapter in Betty's POV and then do the next in Gio's POV. Which would you rather do? Well, we could start coming up with topics like: How to Make Every Moment Count The Etiquette of Being a Fake Boyfriend What To Do When Your Crush Takes You Out on Your Date With Your Boyfriend Tap That: How To Score Hot Italians |
alkali-feldsparQuack or Woof?: The Art of the Mating Call ;) |
wooster182OH! That is awesome, Alkali. Yes, that must be a chapter!! Go take a nap; you did well. ;) |
angelgrl0284Oh, it doesn't matter to me which way we do it. But the topics mentioned would be best with just one POV. |
wooster182Then that works for me. Or, hell, we could do it in Betty's, Gio's, or omniscient--whichever the chapter calls for. For example, Alkali's suggestion might do better as omniscient. |
alkali-feldsparI like an omniscient narrator for these, if I'm weighing in. That will make it easiest for more of us to write and stay cohesive. Also, if it's a true etiquette book dealie, I love the idea of "figure 1," "figure 2," etc showing perhaps the rule, one way to not do it, and one way to do it. A possible list of quick tips might be fun too. ;) | #10 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:51pm

angelgrl0284 Or, hell, we could do it in Betty's, Gio's, or omniscient--whichever the chapter calls for Yes. Good idea. I'm thinking a topic about breaking into the deli, but I'm not sure how to word it. Maybe "The Way to a Man's Heart is Through His Deli". Actually that might work better as : 'The Way to a Man's Heart is Through His Sandwiches' and as a completely different topic. I'll come up with one for the deli break in though... give me a moment. | #12 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:54pm

wooster182I think we're missing the baseball pants... Make it a chapter topic, Alkali. What would that be? "What To Do When You've Lost Your Baseball Pants"? ... Maybe this should be your chapter. :) | #13 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:55pm
angelgrl0284Alkali, motto #1 "Always go with the baseball pants". That could work, right? | #14 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:55pm
alkali-feldsparYep, that's what I was going for, Angel. :D | #15 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:56pm
wooster182That's a good idea, Alkali. Examples and quick tips would do well. I still would like to do a mini-oneshot after each one, too. | #16 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:57pm

Wonderful idea, Angel! The first should have at least a couple innuendos. ;) | #17 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:59pm

alkali-feldsparOh, I love the one-shot. I think that's really the point of this for me, anyway. :) Maybe showing the examples in context in the one-shot? | #18 Apr 22nd 2008, 7:59pm
wooster182Using the one-shot as an example of the tips? Great idea! | #19 Apr 22nd 2008, 8:00pm

wooster182This is what we've got so far: Voice should be either in Betty's, Gio's, or Omniscient. There should be examples and tips. And there will be a one-shot at the end of each guide to use as an example of the aforementioned rules. Here are the topics so far: Well, we could start coming up with topics like: How to Make Every Moment Count The Etiquette of Being a Fake Boyfriend What To Do When Your Crush Takes You Out on Your Date With Your Boyfriend Tap That: How To Score Hot Italians Quack or Woof?: The Art of the Mating Call 'The Way to a Man's Heart is Through His Sandwiches' The Way to a Man's Heart is Through His Deli Always go with the baseball pants Hells Yeah: Tips for Effective Cursing A Whole Lot of Fun: How to Make the Most Out of Innuendo I think that's a good start! | #32 Apr 22nd 2008, 8:54pm

Hysteria259Girls, I love this idea!! :D You've come up with some great ideas for chapters! Hmm... I am feeling creatively drained right now, but when inspiration strikes I will post whatever I think of. I might even write a chapter when it all goes ahead. :) | #34 Apr 23rd 2008, 8:45am
wooster182Yes, Hysteria! You should! I'm going to create a new account called "Getty Girls" and pm you all the password. That way we can all get on it to upload our chapters when we're ready. I'll try to find some time tomorrow or Thursday to do that. | #35 Apr 23rd 2008, 9:12am

angelgrl0284"Boxers? Briefs? Or Both?" Angel, is this one yours? I was thinking that I would take that one. Now I have to come up with some coherent thoughts on the subject. I have faith I can do it though! | #36 Apr 23rd 2008, 10:06am

wooster182Okay, everyone, with the finale and all, we got a little distracted, but now that it's summer, we really need to start working on this project! I have created an account that we can all use. So once you finished a chapter, you can just upload it and post it under that account. The account is "Getty Girls." The login name you use is my email: and the password is Gio. If you would like to participate in this, please start volunteering for chapters or come up with others on your own. This should be fun! | #40 Jun 02nd 2008, 8:35pm

ChristyOzOooh I just stumbled upon this topic... What a fun idea!! I'd love to volunteer to write one if you still need people! How about this- Tomato Love: How to Keep Her Coming Back for More Let me know if that's acceptable and I'll start writing it! | #41 Jun 03rd 2008, 7:21pm

wooster182Absolutely, Christy. Go for it! When you're finished, go to the account listed above and upload it and post it! You'll be our first. We actually need as many volunteers as possible! | #42 Jun 03rd 2008, 7:29pm
