To me, a well-done yaoi is a happy yaoi...if it actually is reasonable.

I might start something, but I think the Cloud/Sephy pairing is way too freaky. They're arch enemies, and imagining them having a romance is just darn unreasonable. The pair would make sense if it was BEFORE the Nibelheim incident. After that, I doubt they would fall for each other.

Us SephXCloud shippers might have a pairing based purely on crack, yes, but most other pairings aren't much better. And do we need any more logic, when they look so good together? And to combat the whole canon one killed the other, one set the other's hometown on fire stuff, that's what AU is for.

Yep, I like AUs cuz they open up bigger possibilities and just let you go haywire with the Cloth pairing. :)

Zack/Cloud is okay (especially since a lot the Cloud/Reno's have this pairing on the side). Its just that I just can't see Zack moving from the flower girl to being a fruit(no flack please).

I can understand the appeal of Sephie/Cloud. I mean, you have the whole teacher-student thing going on (*GEneral, sir. I can't seem to get the maneuver right* -Well, Strife, then we will practice it all night long until you get it right) but really how much of a masochist is Cloud to be in love with a man straight through him (But hunnybunch, I missed all your vital organs. All right I promise not to torch your mom next time I see her).

And the brothers. I hate, Hate, HATE incest (and pedo I found a Cloud/Denzel. Escuse me while I go throw up) Listen, there are more than enough characters to pair each bother up with someone so that they won't have to get each other "special hugs goodnight."

I have read a good Vincent/Yazoo but it needed a dubious consent warning (you the scenerio I don't want you but could you please put your mouth a little lower) I loved all the angst that was with the story (he pretended he didn't like it rough(. YOu know what I need to go find that story.

I hate that fic.... -___-. No matter that the characters are butchered all to hell and not even in a way that's halfway enjoyable (For instance Sephcounttheways' undeniably OOC but completely epic fic 'Blonde Ambition'), but the entire premise is messed up and there are multiple flaws.

The pairing doesn't make the story, though. If it's a well-written fic, why should the pairing matter? I do admit, I have favorite pairings and certainly put stories with those pairings first, don't get me wrong on that. But if the fic was amazing but had a pairing you didn't like, you wouldn't read it? This happened to me today, actually. In the Resident Evil fandom, though. I'm not particularly a fan of Leon/Claire OR Ada/Wesker, but I kept going because the story was great. I've rambled, sorry.

I don't like yaoi unless the characters are so definetly (you can guess right?) that there is no question of their preference!? It Just really ticks me off when people mash around the character's personalities and the way they think so much!

Everyone views things differently, though. What I believe the characters personalities are, are completely different from what you think. OOC-ness ** me off, though. That's just sad.

I really am a firm believer that even though a lot of people have their OTPS and favourite couples, a good writer should be able to convince a reader of any pairing (as long as the reader doesn't dismiss the fic outright with a 'pfft, aXb will never happen!'). For that reason, I have read a large number of crack fics that had the most out there pairings that somehow worked perfectly, thanks to the writers' skill.

It's not that I HATE some of the pairings, per say. I LOVE yaoi. I even got my friend addicted to it and SHE didn't like it. o.O

But the fact is some people bring in so much OOCness of the characters' beings and crap, making them unenjoyable. But I wouldn't just abandon a story if there was a couple I didn't excatly LIKE. (unless there were numerous amount of misspelling and grammar errors, etc, cuz trust me, there ARE a lot out there.)

The plot might be even more so interesting that probably later you wouldn't really mind the unlikely couple. But I will admit, though, that the thought of Vincent x Cid sometimes makes me uncomfortable. Doesn't mean I don't like the two, however. FFVII is a fanfic archive that I could never abandon.

And incest? Forgive me, especially those who enjoy it whether it be fanfics or not, but I just don't appreciate whenever I see Itachi x Sasuke. Even real life disgusts me. You will get OOC in every fandom and pairing. That's a matter of writer's skill, not the pairing itself. The most talented writer can make anything sound perfectly natural.

Yep! Any pairing could work out if it's written well enough! I've read this CidxSephiroth fic(odd pairing, I know), and it's really, REALLY, good. It's a bit of an AU, but it's strangely in character.

Though, certain people prefer certain pairings mainly because they like the interactions of a certain character in said pairings. I tend to lean in the pairings that has atleast one non-bishounen male(ie. Cid, Loz, or Barret, but especially Cid, cause he's awesome that way). I mean, some people like Reno pairings because they like to read about Reno's interaction with other characters, some like Sephiroth pairings because they like to read about Sephiroth's interaction, etc.

I think the whole "favourite pairings" thing depends on the characters you like to read about.

I agree with you. I mostly look for Yuffie stories because she's my favorite character. But if the story is well-written with beliavable characters, the pairings/main character shouldn't decide whether or not you read the story. Like if I were to come across a Cleno where the characters were in character, the story had a decent plot and great spelling/grammar, I'd read it despite the fact that I don't think Cloud is gay in the slighest. Sadly, I haven't found one.

Hee hee. For some reason, I think Cloud is pret-ty gay. I mean, he had two fine(very fine) women throwing themselves at him, and all he could think about is Sephiroth, Sephiroth, Sephiroth...and he doesn't realise it until one of'em dies.

Other than that, I can't really tell what's his character like...

He had a different attitude in FF7 than he did in AC and DoC, so it's pretty confusing for me...

Ah, Cloudy-boy.. He's actually a complex creation. Which is why I love him. x3 FFVII Cloud and AC, Before Crisis and DoC Cloud have one thing in common though. Emo-ness. haha. But yeah its only natural that his character develops over time. Personally, I think the older he has gotten the cooler he has gotten. With the shades in AC.. Zomg.. -drools- I hafs a crush on him, sowwie. xD
