Personally, I love this pairing! There's just so many possibilities to write about between them! Well, in my opinion anyway! Am I the only one??

The pairing either doesn't have very many followers, or very many writers... because there's hardly any fics out there about it. I used to be an ardent Valenwinder until one day something must've hit me on the head because I all-of-a-sudden realized how absolutely AWESOME Cloud and Vincent work together... XD

No, there are definitely more Vincent/Cloud lovers. I think people are drawn to the pairing because of the similarities between the two. I believe that it has been said by someone on the Square team that Vincent is supposed to represent a part of Cloud, and I think that's something that could very much draw the two together. It's really true, though: Hardly anyone writes Vincent/Cloud.

I'll definitely be looking different at them now. True, I have been more of a Zack/Cloud fan, but now that you mention the whole Vincent being a part of Cloud thing, I'm gonna look up some more stories of them, definitely worth the while again :-p

Cloud and Vincent are too much alike, actually. They've both been hurt something terrible in the past and I almost feel like putting them together in a relationship would be akin to putting an alcoholic in a room with an open bar.

They would be self destructive if only because both of them would be trying so hard to make up for their past relationships that this one would just be an excuse for trying to right their wrongs. They'd be trying so hard to make up for the things that they've done that this relationship would turn from healthy and loving to desperate and needy.

Cloud and Vincent would only be using each other and, considering how messed up they are in the relationship department in the first place, this certainly can't be a good way for them to recover.

I think that both of them need a stable partner if a relationship is going to work. Pairing them together is just to hectic. There are too many things going on, and too many personal problems that they must sort out, for them to devote the time and energy towards making the other feel loved.

I agree with SilverThorn. Both these hotties are too much the same.

Cloud is pretty much a weak-minded man who faced a lot of problems while Vincent had his fair share of tragedies. They are both angsty and EMO-ish, so the pairing is too...unreasonable.

They need a stable partner as SilverThorn said, cuz two depressed puppies together is a recipe for disaster, suicide, you name it.

I have to respectfully disagree. While its true that they would both be in an unhealthy, needy relationship with each other and it could indeed lead to suicide or some other catastrophe, isn't that... a good thing? From the stand point of a tragedy fic. You'd have so much to work with because they ARE doomed to failure and getting there is half the fun.

Plus, from, say, a humor fic standpoint, you'd also have a lot to work with. Vincent seems awkward and a little confused about the modern world (re: where can I purchase a phone?) and Cloud is the ultimate Emo Kid. Their interactions could be very hilarious. Two sad puppies make for cute pictures. :D
