Topic: Where might I go from here? *spoilers possible* Read with caution
The end of Doctor Who and the Great Eclipse is approaching rather rapidly. I find myself wondering what to do with the crowd of people that the Doctor finds himself with.

Clearly River and Simon are going to be traveling with the Doctor for a while, and yes I want to solve the mystery of who is behind River's brainwork.

I intend Riddick to travel with them as well.

Will I do Dark Fury? I'm thinking at this time that yes, I likely will.

Will I do some of the Firefly Episodes? or CoR? Very possible.

If you are going to read it, I'll write it.

The big thing is: when do I bring in Rose?

hah.

Ok.

Romance: Yes. Will be light and more of a hinted at thing I think (or at least the build up will be long and drawn out)

Pairs: not telling you, might be -complex- yeah. :-P

Next stop: either London, the Kubla Kahn, or someplace where Serenity is. Leaning now to Kubla Kahn because the extra characters can catch a shuttle and head to Helion from there.

Why: Just because. TARDIS wants to. Meh.

Found a site with transcripts of the first half of the 9th doctor's run so I can do "Rose" through "Dalek" with accuracy.

Got the Firefly episode transcripts too.

Made one for Dark Fury myself, and I have one for CoR...

I'm all set to do a much longer 9th doctor run.

Hope you all stick around for the ride.

I can't wait to see where you go with this...

I have a feeling the romance will only become truly 'complex' when Rose is added to the picture. ☺ In the mean time, though, I really hope you allow some tension between the Doctor and Riddick, because what you’ve done so far has been simply delicious.

It would be very interesting to catch up with the other portion of the Firefly cast at some point, especially if the Tams are recognized as fugitives. I have a feeling Mal and the crew’s responses will be very entertaining, especially since your characterizations are so good. ☺

Do you have any ideas when you’ll begin posting?

If you need any help or a Beta (not that I’m any good) just let me know. I’m more than happy to be of service if you need me. Or I’m happy to just review like mad and be a fan. ☺)

Doctor Who and the Ties that Bind Should be up very soon. First chapter anyhow. As soon as tomorrow, even.

I left the Doctor in a bit of pain, and he's hiding it well, but... Richard is a very intuitive fellow. It won't take him long to realize that something is wrong.

It also won't take the TARDIS long to latch onto him as an ally in her quest to save the Doctor from his own foolishness.

And - (wait for it, now) - Rose may or may not come into the picture soonish. Actually I'm leaning toward someone else to help with this problem that is building. If so, then Serenity will come into the picture much sooner... AND gosh, this is so good it makes me tingle inside... but I can't tell you, can I? No you'll have to read it. But There is someone on Serenity that is very much Fire.

There's a hint in the elements, and one is missing.

But is Rose Fire or Aether ?

Decided on another plot wrinkle. Just who is that Furyan on the Kubla Kahn? And why might the Doctor want to kill him?

Heh... yeah.

Pushed back the Firefly part of the plot just a bit, in order to have some of the other elements settled where I want them. Like Rose. I keep seeing her as part of the group when Mal meets the Doctor for some reason. So... Rose meets Verity first. Yeah, I had to do it.

Next act will then have Serenity, although I may include Book boarding in 'Ties that Bind'

One thing I'm going to do is use alias for River, Simon, and perhaps the others.

Here's the names I've been kicking around in my head to use:

River = Shayla or Saritha (Both mean 'River')

Simon = Daimen or Simeon (Daimen is the saint of physicians, while Simeon is another spelling of Simon)

Jack B. Badd (original script name was audrey) = Andre or Jacob (Male form or longer name that Jack is related to besides John or Johnathan)

Richard B. Riddick = Most likely none, was thinking of Eric, but *shrugs* I like Richard.

The Doctor = Often uses 'John Smith', a name we're all used to, yeah? Thete from Theta Sigma, means 9, cosmos, death, 'good spirit' and a bunch of other things besides... I've considered going several ways with this. There is 'Thad' which sounds similar. There's LeRon, which means 'the circle' and could stand for the same concepts as Thete, Or I could just go with John. I also considered names that mean storm or tempest and came up with Ariel. Um, no...

Rose will remain Rose.

Last name will be Smythe, because I like it. :-)

My intended length for "Ties that Bind" is 36 chapters or so.

I'm almost through 'Rose' and only at 26 chapters. By chapter 30 I should be done with it. Maybe even sooner.

It's then possible to have the boarding of Serenity by the Doctor and his group included in "Ties" and the meeting of Inara. This would put all the key players into the same area for the purposes of the next story, focused on the Doctor's revenge of the actions against River, while being forced by his condition to travel the 'slow' route for a bit. And finally the promised hint of the 2 by 2 blue hands.

I want to try to have each adventure with a chapter or two lull that catches everything up. I hope this plan doesn't make the fics seem too slow or tedious. I enjoy exploring the dynamics of the characters against each other, and in this case it is the Doctor's family as it smashes into Mal's that is my goal. (With a hint of Jackie and Mickey on the side).

Problem I'm having right now is that I keep having this dream with an odd plot twist, which is totally possible within the canon of the show (Thanks to Jack Harkness), and now I need to decide if I'm going to use it. I suppose that it will anger folks or drive them away if I do. But then again, I've got the Doctor in my brain and he's giving me this stuff, and I don't fancy him being sharp with me for not using it. So...

Just started Tangled Web. Less than two days I held out... Ah well. Tied off the cliffy from the end of the last one and gave the Doctor somethin' to do besides getting depressed about being stuck in one time and unable to travel.

I'm thinking about where to take this. Yes, I want to deal with River's situation still, but I just found the greatest resource and now have the material to actually do detailed scenes with the second Doctor and Jamie. I'm very excited about this, because I didn't want to stray too far outside canon, yet I want to establish the depth of emotional devastation that caused the Doctor to close himself off to individuals like Sarah Jane and explain why he'd dump her and then never return, even though he loves her. So... how much of Tangled Web will be about the Doctor's past relationships?

Currently he's telling me that the situation between he and Jamie needs to be explored. Somehow, then, it will be. either as part of Tangled Web or as a side story.

Well, it just keeps growing and growing... haha.

Next chapter of Tangled Web is in the works. Got slightly bonked over the head by a depressing C2 addition. Not that I mind being told that my series sucks, or anything, but I'd like to know exactly why Masked Reviewer went to the trouble. I don't believe that I've broken site rules, I don't have script formats or song fics. I've tried to be very good with my grammar and spelling, making corrections as I spot them. This means that the only thing I can peg as to why he's or she's added me to Doomed Fic is because my characters are OOC.

But then... yeah, they would be, wouldn't they?

Needless to say, I'm struggling with this and trying to listen to what the Doctor is telling me but at the moment it's like listening to him from a very long ways away.

Edit: I sent a nice response to the review that Masked Reviewer left informing me of the C2 listing requesting more information about what it was that earned my fics a place there, because honestly I wanted to know what it was that I could improve. Instead of sending me a reply, my fics are no longer listed there... I'm still curious as to what prompted the listing in the first place though.

Here is the Doomed Fic's description:

"Script format (violates site rules), bad reunion stories, songfic (violates rules), character bashing, lists (rules violation), OOC-ness, Mary Sues, lousy grammar and spelling. All things that shouldn't be done. Most listed stories are Doctor/Rose because that's most of what is on this site. If Doctor/Rose shippers wrote better, this C2 almost wouldn't need to exist. If your story's included, it sucks. Do better next time. If you rewrite a story, PM me and I might remove it from this list. "

Like um... wow, I'm either guilty of something or nothing... A reply telling me why was all I was after. Anyway, it's a nice listing of fics that for one of the above reasons Masked Reviewer thinks sucks. Don't know, he or she might be right. There are a lot of fics on this site that could use a bit of a beta, but most of the ones I've read are not listed there.

So I've been working on the next bit of How the Doctor was Won. I intend this to cover the rest of Susan's time on the TARDIS. May be a very long chapter.

I'm also working on the next part of All About the Doctor and Jamie. This next chapter will cover Ben and Polly leaving.

The third Doctor is knocking around in my brain wondering when I'm going to get to his tale...

I don't feel like I'm being as productive but then I'm working on several longish chapters at once. I hope I'm not going crazy. :-D

well.... the 'summer' is nearly over for me, meaning that by next thursday I'll have nearly double the writing time I've had lately.

I'm curious... do folks perfer short frequent chapters or longer less frequent ones? Makes it hard sometimes... I'm writing currently about 4 pages a day (that should go up to 8 or so) meaning that the main story could have had a chpter every 2 days... except for the fact that I'm doing these very long chapters for two side stories at the same time... this drops me to about a chapter a week, give or take. I'm considering backing up a bit and breaking those long chapters up from here on, basicly putting out what I can write in a day no matter where it lands (I suspect there are a few writers out there that do this, just to keep their stories on the front page). The main thing stopping me from doing that is the feeling like those chapters won't be complete. So maybe not.

TW should have chapter 19 out very soon. I'm trying to decide how to handle the River and Simon situation that is coming up. Will the Doctor insist that they meet this issue head on or will the entire family hide? Um... yes.

How the Doctor was Won is in the works for the next segment, covering the end of Ian and Barbara's travels with the Doctor and Vicki.

All About is moving into Tomb of the Cybermen, and I'm wondering if I can sneak in a dream I had involving the Doctor, Jamie, and the Zero Room... Would the TARDIS know what is going on in there? Anyhow I know this story will be a set number of chapters, at least.

The third Doctor story is a bit more tricky. I've got access to many of the eps, and the transcripts for quite a few of them, so that's a good thing. It's time I don't have. I'm holding off starting "The Doctor in Exile" until I get through either the 1st Dr stuff or the 2nd Dr stuff.

Looking at long term possible plot twists:

Doctor's current condition - How does this impact his 'logic'? Is he more likely to make irrational decisions while his brain is swimming an a rather alien hormonal soup?

How did it affect the 2nd Doctor?

What happens to further this complex story line? -- Does anything threaten the Doctor's life durning this very risk time frame?

~

Aside from that one must wonder how he solves the issue with River. There's revenge to be taken against those that hurt her, and he's burning with rage over how she's been savagely experimented on. But before he can move on that he must destroy the parasite. How is he ever going to get past Mal's resistance?

~

Richard: I suppose folks realize that they are going to be challenged by the criminal past that Riddick's tangled up with. There's dozen's of possible Slams he could be hauled off to, if they venture into the wrong era. They've already run foul of that possibility once and gotten the hint that it's only a matter of time before it happens again.

Plus Toombs is looking for him...

~

The main season with Rose: Still must add this element back in. Yes, the Doctor is going to meet some folks with more of a clue as to what he is. Yes those eps will happen... Yes, he'll get slapped. When he's gotten rid of the parasite there will be some 'side trips' with fewer people... Don't worry, Simon will never know...
