Starfur walked into the morning sunshine and gray lights of dawn. She turned around to lick her ginger pelt, then she turned back around, licked her paw, and drew it over her ear. A hunting patrol had left just before, and the border patrolling cats had just returned, Maplefur as one of them.

Ambertail padded out of the warriors' den and was Starfur giving a wash. "Hi, Starfur!"

"Good morning, Ambertail," Starfur greeted.

"Hi, Ambertail, Starfur!" Maplefur bounded over to the two talking warriors.

Tigerfoot yawned lightly,That conversation with Tigerstar last night was really interesting...

He shook his head and paded up to the Fresh-Kill pile and selected a mouse.

Tigerfoot looked up and gave them a quick nod.

Maplefur, Starfur and Ambertail nodded back at him, as did Cloudfoot.

Starfur sighed. She would have to wait forever, would she? Tigerfoot had assigned the dawn patrol, and she had seemingly waited forever for the others to turn up. Then she whipped her head around to see Dawnsky speeding out of the warriors den. "About time," Starfur called cheerfully.

"I'm so sorry, Starfur!" Dawnsky panted. "Well, has anyone else turned up?"

"No."

"That's just what I expected..." Dawnsky laughed half-heartedly.

Tigerfoot glanced around the clearing, "Where'd Owlsight go? Didn't she say she was going to catch a bird or two and return?"

I don't have the bold tool for the whole afternon -.-`

Starfur's ears pricked. Tigerfoot was right - she had woken up early in the morning, early enough to catch Owlsight padding out of the den to ask the she-cat where she was going. "I'm no sure. The last time I saw her was this moring. Haven't seen her since - sorry."

Ambertail, overhearing the conversation, joined in. "I was going to go hunting this morning, but then I changed my mind. Last time I saw, it looked like she was heading over to the SnowClan border."

"Well, Ambertail, Tigerfoot said you were on the dawn patrol, and we were coming to get you. We'll check out the SnowClan border if you like, Tigerfoot." Starfur offered.

"Um, which apprentice are we taking?" Ambertail asked Starfur. Starfur glanced at Tigerfoot.

"Okay, I'll fetch him." Starfur slipped away. An awkward silence fell between Tigerfoot and Ambertail.

Tigerfoot glanced at the she-cat. His gaze the quickly returned to the ground.

Did I say that Ambertail had amber eyes? Because if I did, Ambertail and Tigerfoot have the same colour eyes xD

"So," Ambertail started, "how's life as deputy?"

"It's alright...lots of work though, but it's kinda fun to be second to the leader." Tigerfoot answered with a smile.

Wow... (=o.O=) The weird kitty-cat face doesn't look like a kitty-cat at all -.-' Oh no O.O I've got to get off in half an hour!

Ambertail sighed. "Sounds like a life worth living for, then. Regretting anything that you declined to become deputy of DawnClan?"

"Yeah. Now, since I'm deputy, I can't just hunt and fight and have the fun warriors like you and the others do. I have responsibilities to attend to, and the pressure of being just steps away from leader is nerve-racking." Tigerfoot sighed and glanced up at the sun. It was starting to slowly descend below the trees.

(=O.o=) ... =(o.O)= I still think the first one looks better than the second one (= -_- =) -- Shadowfire.

"Yes, living life as a warrior sure is lively, but life as you sounds a lot more interesting then mine does. Interesting is a lot better than fun - in my eyes, anyway. But you know, when you become leader, you'll have everyone behind you. Supporting you. So you've got nothing to worry about. Besides, Wingstar still has five lives yet, so you don't have to warrior about becoming a leader all just yet." Ambertail's amber gaze narrowed, and she exchanged a glance with Tigerfoot. "She still has five lives left, though... Doesn't she?"

Starfur returned. "I can't find Stormpaw (?)!"

"What? You're joking. I checked this morning and he was there!" Ambertail cried. She shot a glance at Tigerfoot. We'll probably have to continue this conversation another time, she mewed grimly to herself. But Wingstar still has five lives... right?

Ambertail...

What? What was that? Ambertail's eyes narrowed. Starfur looked taken aback. "Uh, Ambertail are you alright?"

Ambertail shook her head angrily, trying to get the voice out of her head. Ambertail... "Uh, yes, yes, I'm fine!" Starfur surely didn't look convinced, but the she-cat just shrugged it off. "Now... You saw Stormpaw is missing? Are you absolutely sure? Tigerfoot and I've been waiting at the camp entrance all this time. Surely he couldn't gotten out?"

"That's why I took so long!" Starfur cried. "I searched everywhere, and I can't find Stormpaw, I'm telling you!"

Ambertail frowned. "He must be playing hide and seek with us. There's no other way out of camp."

"We don't know that."

The amber-eyed she-cat looked up, shoulders tensed. She relaxed when she saw Maplefur. "Finally come, eh, Maplefur? We were going to leave, but it seems we have a case on our paws." she frowned. "Tigerfoot, what should we do first?"

Ooh, a mystery O.O

"Joy..." Tigerfoot muttered, "First of all, you checked everywhere? If so, we need to go out and look. He could have wandered off with Owlsight and now both are lost."

Tigerfoot! Tigerfoot, look at me! a voice growled into his ear. He turned his head sharply to look. No cat was there.

Really? =(o.O)= That one, you mean?

"Great," Ambertail muttered sarcastically. She turned to Maplefur. "Did you?"

Maplefur nodded. "I'm sure. I even checked the surroundings."

Starfur cursed something under her breath, and Ambertail couldn't quite catch what it was, but she ignored it instead. "So, shall we search then, Tigerfoot?" Starfur's eyes narrowed. Ambertail also turned her gaze on the deputy. This is probably the pressure he was talking about. She lowered her gaze guiltily.

*nod*...I made Shadowfire! =(-_-)=

"Let's go. Who knows what could happen. With Owlsight's lack of knowing boundries and Stormpaw just being an apprentice, they could be in another territory by now!" Tigerfoot turned swiftly and started out the tunnel to the forest.

About: A curious and adventurous tom. He's the medicine cat apprentice, and he's a fast learner when it comes to herbs and mixtures. He's an enthusiastic cat, too. Even though he's an apprentice, he's a real kit. His fur it dark brown, and he's got amber eyes that look more orange than amber. Friendly.

Uh, I'm using an iMac computer... Okay, maybe it's not an iMac, but I think it's by the Apple or whatever company. I held down the Alt Key and pressed some key on the keyboard. Can't remember which one though... Sorry.

"Moonheart!"

Twigpaw charged into the medicine cat's den, awakening a sleeping medicine cat with a bunch of chickweed in his mouth. His mew became muffled as he spoke with the herbs in his mouth. He set them down in front of him. "Moonheart, I've just found a bunch of chickweed! And I found a place with an overgrown stock of catmint, too, for the coming leaf-fall!"

"Really?"

Moonheart stood then sat on her haunches."Thank you,Twigpaw.That will come in handy in case of greencough.Go and put it next to the other herbs."She opened her mouth and let out a long yawn.

"Okay!"

Twigpaw picked the chickweed up in his mouth and trotted over to a crack in the wall behind the fresh-water pool. He tucked it in and scooted around the pool. He glanced up. The spike in the roof still had water dripping from its tip... Into the pool. "Do you want to go get some catmint now?"

I thought it was catnip -.-'

"Sure.Thank you."Moonheart got up and started to count the amount of catmint they already had.There was only 5 of the herb left."We're running low on Marigold, too..."Her voice drifted off as she started to organize the herbs.

Catnip and Catmint are the same thing.

Well, OK then.

Tigerfoot brought the patrol along the border with SnowClan, where they tracked the scent. He detected her scent crossing the border into the snoy area, "...She went into SnowClan territory..." Tigerfoot glanced back at the others, Should I lead them into SnowClan camp, or discuss it at the next gathering?

Oh, right then.

"Okay!" Twigpaw scampered out of the den. "Now let's see... I should go find the catmint first. Then I'll go look for some marigold." the tom dashed out of camp and veered sharply left. He battled his way through thorny brambles and thick, ferny undergrowth until he camp to a stop at an old Twoleg nest. He scrabbled over the tall fence and landed in a heap in a Twoleg garden bed. He dug up some catmint, picked it up in his mouth and scrambled back over the fence. I should get this back to camp first. Then I'll have some room to carry the marigold, he mused to himself as he ran back to camp. When he came back to the medicine cat den, he dropped the catmint in front of Moonheart. "Here's the catmint!" then he narrowed his eyes. "Where did you say Marigold was found again?"

I don't even know myself. I'll go check later on.

"Oh, joy," Ambertail muttered, rolling her eyes. "Well, if we went on SnowClan territory, then obviously we would be jumped by a stupid patrol or something, yes? If we discussed it at the Gathering, then surely we'd have a much higher chance in getting back Owlsight than with this puny patrol. If we don't succeed with talking, persuading or excuses, we'd have to attack." she narrowed her eyes. "But of course, this is the leader's choice, and up to the deputy to persuade her to do what he thinks we should do." she turned her gaze to Tigerfoot.

Starfur shifted uncomfortably. "I think her explanation sounds reasonable, but I don't really like the sound of fighting over a single warrior..."

"Softie," Maplefur sneered. Starfur shook her head.

"I think that fighting over nothing isn't good. Okay, it is something, but... As long as they're not doing any harm to Owlsight, then we have nothing to worry about apart from a shortage of warriors... By one. They might release her soon, anyway."

Maplefur snorted. "Whatever. It's Tigerfoot's choice."

I is using an insult from Erin's new book, Seekers -The Quest Begins. It's a bear book, FYI.

Tigerfoot gazed over the area. He spotted movement in the snowy darkness and it came to be Firepaw, following the scent-trail Owlsight left, "Oh?" the young apprentice asked.

"Firepaw?" Tigerfoot questioned back, "What are you doing out here without your mentor?"

"None of your buisness, you thieving badger-faces!" Firepaw snapped. She smiled, "Yeah, I like that insult...Thieving Badger-face!"

Rofl.

Maplefur snarled, advancing on the poor apprentice. Starfur stopped her friend. Ambertail shot a glance at Tigerfoot. "What should we do?"

Just in case you don't know, Ambertail's got a crush on Tigerfoot. It doesn't really matter whether he returns his feelings or not xD Drama! Not -.-' ugh... got to go to lunch. Be back after!

"Leave her," Tigerfoot said, "She's not on our territory so we can't do anything..."

Firepaw stuck out her tounge, "Haha!"

"She better not try anything." Maplefur muttered under her breath.

"So... Now what?" Starfur and Ambertail exchanged a glance.

"The Marigold is around that oak tree near SnowClan territory.I'll show you."Moonheart took the catmint and placed it next to the other herbs."Okay.Follow me."With a flick of her tail,she led the way out of the DawnClan camp.

"I know..." Tigerfoot muttered. He glanced at the sky and then back at the apprentice, "You, Firepaw. Have you seen a cat by the name of Owlsight anywhere?"

"Yeah!" Firepaw nodded, "She's our prisoner because my mentor, Shadowfire, his 'apprentice' the second, Sugarpaw, his girlfriend Flowerbud, and Cinderfoot found her up in a tree!"

Tigerfoot stared at the cat, "So, Owlsight is in your camp now?" He smiked lightly, "And Flowerbud and Shadowfire are together now?"

"They're in denial...and yes."

Lol.

"Okay!" Twigpaw bounded along after his mentor, being scolded once or twice for being annoying.

"Denial?" Ambertail raised her eyebrow.

SHIMATTA! I USED THESE CHARACTERS IN ANOTHER CLAN! I PROMISE TO EDIT IT!

Starfur and Maplefur sighed with frustration in unison. "So..." Starfur started, "are we going to get her or not?"

"This apprentice would be in trouble if we did, and Firepaw did tell us what to do," Maplefur pointed out.

"It's not really our decision..." Ambertail shrugged. She recieved glares from Starfur and Maplefur.

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm outta here..." Firepaw turned around and followed the trail back to camp.

Tigerfoot sighed, "Well, at least we know where she is. But she didn't mention anything about Stormpaw, so he might still be in our territory!"
