Chaos RideTopic: Figgy
Yea, its GROSS, and where do people even come up with that!? no proof whats so ever! Fax is in the books, either true love or hormone induced, it doesn't matter. |
nathan-pWhy? Rule 34. It is also the second oldest pairing in the fandom, immediately following Fax. Also, grow up. Some of us are straight. Some of us are homosexual. Some of us are bisexual. There are even a few people who are asexual. Not everyone in MR can be straight. | #2 Jun 09th 2008, 12:03pm
OMG-It's-a-PENGUINI don't mind homosexuals, I just choose to ignore it. That's why I don't read Figgy fanfics. And if I come across one, I don't get all gushy and say 'Awww so sweet!!!', because I just don't enjoy it. | #3 Jun 28th 2008, 10:45am
OMG-It's-a-PENGUINSo I'm pretty much saying, "Yeah, I hate it." I'm just ignoring. |
NeverMindIXSee you say this like it needs facts. Its fanfiction therefore the weirdest of scenes could happen out of no where. To me Fax is pretty stupid and predictable. Now Figgy can get pretty Lemony (thats when I stop reading) but otherwise its a good romance read. |
The Talented Mr KiplingYeah, I don't really like Figgy tbh and I seriously doubt that it will happen in the books, but hey, this is fanfiction - it's just people coming up with random stories to do with flock characters. Besides, there have been worse pairings... |
NeverMindIXThe creepyest I can think of is like Jeb/Ari or like Gasman/Angel. Both would be weird | #7 Jul 06th 2008, 11:33pm
OMG-It's-a-PENGUINWell, of course that would be weird. And I know this is FanFiction, but I am just saying that if someone does not enjoy Figgy, then they shouldn't read it. And don't say you stumbled upon it. Because you didn't. Creepiest I could come up with is...hmm...I've never seen it before but...Director/Max. That would be pretty creepy. *shivers* |
NeverMindIXyea that would be creepy |
The Talented Mr KiplingWow...the worst I've read is Fang/Max/Ari threesome, Nudge/Angel and Max/Angel. I think someone wrote a Total/Celeste fic once. But that was so weird it was funny... | #10 Jul 07th 2008, 7:33pm
Chaos Rideum I've actually seen a Fang/Celeste/Angel Creepy. | #11 Jul 07th 2008, 8:02pm
NeverMindIXActually I like Max/Fang/ArAnything with Ari actually..... But yea ones with celeste is weird, it makes me laugh | #12 Jul 07th 2008, 9:15pm
nathan-pThe Ari/Fang/Max was pretty groundbreaking in its time (fandom's first lemon, IIRC), and I think the pairing's pretty interesting. Mostly I ship characters based not on "wow they're hot together" but on the relationship between them. Or because it was requestfic, heh-heh. | #13 Jul 08th 2008, 5:24pm
NeverMindIXIIRC? WHats/who that? Yeah same with me, its stupid to ship people who hardly know each other or that absolutly hate each other(now if you manage to do ship two people who hate each and its good(in my standards) then I guess im wrong). Request fics are......different.... | #14 Jul 08th 2008, 5:41pm
nathan-pIIRC is "If I Recall Correctly". I have a terrible memory, so I wind up using it a lot. "its stupid to ship people who hardly know each other or that absolutly hate each other(now if you manage to do ship two people who hate each and its good(in my standards) then I guess im wrong)" I'm in another fandom where one of the most popular pairings is between two characters who have no logical reason to ever date, and would rather be violently murdering each other. Most shippers insist on writing fluff with them in it... I respect the shippers who make it more real to the characters as we know them from canon. | #15 Jul 08th 2008, 9:37pm
NeverMindIXWhen I ever write ship I usually make it extremmly dark and make it so there is no hope. What is the fandom? | #16 Jul 08th 2008, 9:42pm
nathan-pYami no Matsuei is the fandom; Muraki/Tsuzuki is the pairing, (but I like it better when it's Tsuzuki/Muraki). | #17 Jul 09th 2008, 9:53am
OMG-It's-a-PENGUINNo idea what Griff is talking about... Maybe it's just because I'm challenged. Oh well, I'm guessing it's anime. I like High School/KouKou Debut. I am utterly confused. insert evil laugh here -Pengy- | #18 Jul 09th 2008, 10:05am
NeverMindIXYeah I'm no good with Anime so I have no idea who ur talking about | #19 Jul 09th 2008, 11:35am

nathan-pIt's my favorite manga ever. The English title is Descendants of Darkness (which doesn't get used as a line in the series until the eighth volume), but the fandom is about the same size as MR fandom (roughly speaking, anyway). Here's a summary I worked up for it (in case anyone is interested) : In about a sentence: There are these two undead guys, and they fight crime with angst and sexual tension. In more than a sentence: Tsuzuki Asato is a Shinigami, or Guardian of Death. His job is to seek out souls whose bodies have died, but who haven't showed up in the Afterlife yet -- which usually extends to "Some people are dying suspiciously / there are more deaths than usual, go check this out". He works with the humorously angsty (with very, very good reason) teenager Kurosaki Hisoka, the uptight secretary Tatsumi Seiichiro, the crazy-but-lovable scientist Watari Yutaka, and a whole host of other coworkers. Usually he gets up to hijinks with Hisoka, but the memorable parts of the manga (read: the parts you should read) are his faceoffs with the mad doctor Muraki Kazutaka, who has a bizarre obsession with Tsuzuki's "perfect body". Muraki is often mentioned in close conjunction with Mibu Oriya (his BFF; the fandom likes to pair the two of them together) and Shidou Saki (his half-brother, whom he's been trying to kill since the eighties). (Remember Hisoka's good reason to be angsty? Muraki is that reason. Do the words "raped and cursed to slow, painful, agonizing death" sum it up, or do I have to go into detail? Why? More or less, because. Or if you want an actual reason, "leave no witnesses".) The manga has no overarching plot, but most of the memorable volumes run like so: Tsuzuki does something. Muraki shows up and says something disturbing. They then fight and Muraki dies. (That's not a spoiler. Pretty much every one of his appearances in the manga end in a death -- which have all been faked, up until this point. Arguably, though, he's died at least twice For Real -- only one death is canonically stated as having been faked. [He built up a resistance to a poison, which he then was poisoned with. Or something similar.] One of the others is revealed to have been Not For Real / Not Quite Dead Yet [not quite spoilers, as he's pretty much shown getting poofed out of the consumed-by-flames building; presumably, though, it's Not Quite Dead Yet, as unless he got poofed by someone magical / is bulletproof, he's dead of burns by now], and the other one is never explained, though he's perfectly healthy when we next see him.) If interested, theria.net has translations and your local bookstore will probably have the manga in stock. (Amazon probably has the anime, too.) But the fandom is all the same: go here (http://nathan-p.livejournal.com/1626.html#cutid1) and you'll be basically done with the fandom. But if you like it, you love it, you want some more of it, EAG's fic "The First Death" is absolutely fantastic and provides all your Yami fic needs. (I've been slowly working my way through a different fic since then, but I'm not going to link because it's Muraki/Tsuzuki [with the amazing side pairing of Oriya/Watari], and there are prawns in the later chapters. ... oh, okay, it's "Dark Adaptation".) I've also been told that "The Goddess Incarnate" is good in that fandom, but I haven't read it. ... so, uh, yeah. edit: So now that you have a vague idea who's who, liking Tsu/Mur is a bit weird compared to liking Mur/Tsu, because Tsuzuki is The Uke in every. single. fic. he appears in. | #20 Jul 09th 2008, 2:02pm . nathan-pI didn't type that all out just for this thread. It's my standard "wtf is this Yami thing?" summary, so I just copy/paste it whenever it's needed. | #23 Jul 09th 2008, 5:14pm
NeverMindIXlol thats a good idea | #24 Jul 09th 2008, 11:07pm
The Talented Mr KiplingCool. I'm guessing that means quite a lot of people ask you what it is... | #25 Jul 10th 2008, 4:30pm
nathan-pI usually get asked whenever I bring it up more than casually, so I figured it was well worth my time to make an all-purpose, accurate summary. | #26 Jul 10th 2008, 8:23pm
NeverMindIXYea it probably was a good idea | #27 Jul 10th 2008, 10:08pm

The Talented Mr KiplingYeah, probably saves a lot of time as well... | #28 Jul 11th 2008, 4:45pm

NeverMindIXSo what ever happened to the topic of Figgy? | #29 Jul 11th 2008, 9:07pm

NeverMindIXOh yes great fun. So I see you changed your avatar. Is that you in real life? | #31 Jul 11th 2008, 9:25pm

Chaos RideYup | #32 Jul 11th 2008, 9:26pm

NeverMindIXI hate real life it sucks.... | #33 Jul 11th 2008, 9:43pm

Chaos RideThe photo, or real life in general? Cause I can agree with either! | #34 Jul 11th 2008, 9:45pm

NeverMindIXI see you have self esteem issues. and I meant real life in general | #35 Jul 11th 2008, 9:48pm

Chaos RideNah, just don't like that pic, and my comps stupid, and won't let me put anything different. Reality sucks. You can't have commercial breaks! | #36 Jul 11th 2008, 9:50pm
NeverMindIXIf reality were like a book or TV show I would probably become the antagonist and get killed in the end....better than how it is now.... | #37 Jul 11th 2008, 9:53pm
Chaos RideIf it was a video game, there is no extra life, and you never know who your enemies are. | #38 Jul 11th 2008, 9:55pm
nathan-pIf reality were a book, I'd be either the hero's sidekick or villain's sidekick. | #39 Jul 11th 2008, 10:02pm
NeverMindIXWell then hello sidekick....lol Why sidekick? SO you wouldn't get killed? | #40 Jul 12th 2008, 10:41am
nathan-pSidekick because I never feel like the main character. Also because sidekicks take bullets for the main character, who then gets a touching bedside scene / a reason to kick **, depending on if the sidekick lives or...doesn't... | #41 Jul 12th 2008, 3:36pm
NeverMindIXI think those bedside scenes are stupid personally but thats my opinion | #42 Jul 12th 2008, 3:39pm
The Talented Mr KiplingIf life was a book, I'd probably be one of the minor characters in the background, that isn't really that important in the story and no-one's really sure what the point of them being there in the first place. I like story's where the bad guy wins. Fairy tale endings get a bit boring and cheesy after a while...all that lovey-dovey mushy stuff at the end...ick. | #43 Jul 12th 2008, 6:10pm
NeverMindIXWhen the bad guys win I praise the author | #44 Jul 12th 2008, 7:12pm
Chaos RideIf reality was a book, i'd be the crazy super-genius bad guy, who kills people for no reason. But i've said too much! Yup. | #45 Jul 12th 2008, 7:24pm
NeverMindIXBased on my thoughts, I wouldn't be surprised if I became some evil genious, a dictator who comands smoe master breed (yes I know I sound like a Nazi but I am not), or some serial killer | #46 Jul 12th 2008, 7:27pm
Chaos RideWell, Im already a genius, but how evil do you have to be to count as evil? Cause, I mean I'm so there! Oh yeah serial killer! so many innocent victims, killed in a signature way. If I was a serial kill, I'd kill them with their worst fear. OH yeah. | #47 Jul 12th 2008, 7:31pm
The Talented Mr KiplingIf I was a serial killer, I'd be the Jigsaw Killer ^^ | #48 Jul 13th 2008, 7:44pm
Chaos RideYeah, that's a good one. I can't recall the persons name, but there was a guy in the 1920-1930s that was like a therapist, and he worked everyday with someone on there worst fears. Then he had to shut down his office, because he didn't have enough money to keep going. And he was vengeful. He spied on every one in therapy, and latched on to one or two. He killed off the therapist, theen killed off the person, with their worst fear. | #49 Jul 13th 2008, 7:54pm
nathan-pKind of reminds me of Scarecrow, but then again I've been watching/reading too much Batman. (I would say Amadeus Arkham, but that's getting a little esoteric even for Batman fans, because he's a minor character and I refer to him in Arkham: A Serious House on Serious Earth.) If I had to be a serial killer, I'd be Zodiac -- they still haven't caught him (but don't worry, I heard he probably killed himself in the 70s). And if I had to spend a day inside one killer's mind, it would be Charles Manson. Fascinating. | #50 Jul 13th 2008, 8:20pm
