Me: WTF? This author not only is spelling Aerith's name as 'Aphrodite' but is playing Tifa out to be a ** that somehow helped Sephiroth in the game? Ugh.

That's actually one of my absolute favorite fics on FFN. No sarcasm.

But in order to get it, you have to read this - http://www.geocities.com/evil_mina_121/arf-intro.htm. It's ridiculously hilarious. It plays up all of the cliches involving ARFs so well that I could die.

So yeah. She's not an actual Clerith. More like being satirical about the rabid ones.

But I HAVE seen some super-rabid Cleriths on FFN. The ones who annoy me in a very weary sort of way.

[EDIT: And to that effect, I have also viewed rabid Clotis who make jabs in very poor taste against Cleriths as well. So don't find me biased here or anything. Even if I, uh, am.]

Ah, no one's posted here for a while....

But, I have a few funny things to say if anyone's interested:

My cousin was recently over to visit with her two young daughters. (One is five, the other is about two & 1/2) Anyway, the younger one ran around the house calling herself 'The Lady in Pink'. She doesn't know anything about Final Fantasy, but I thought this was hilarious...^^

I got this friend of mine into FF7. She is a total Clerith along with me. I didn't even have to say any of my usual stuff about evidence that I have (in my opinion) she watched the movie and said that she thought Cloud loved Aerith. Then I sent her the novellas and a copy of the script. She hasn't finished them yet, but yeah...Oh! I wore my hair in a braid the other day and this dude that is dating one of my friends goes 'she looks like Aeris Gainisbourogh' (or however you spell her last name)

I was reading over the posts we all put here, some of the stuff was fairly interesting. People on both sides got irritated without cause I think, because someone possibly forgot to answer a question or comment. One thing I forgot to comment on had to do with the commercial: someone said that the commercial wasn't valid because of the 'hate that always was' line. But, if it meant Cloud's hatred of Sephiroth, why not show the two of them? When it said 'love that could never be' it showed Cloud and Aerith. But for the 'hate' line, it just showed Sephiroth. So, I don't think it necisarily means Cloud's hatred of Sephiroth....

Oh, and I posted some more C/A fics if anyone's interested....But I would love to get this forum going again. At the moment I'm mostly active in the EdWinry FMA forums (Which are great, don't get me wrong) But it would be cool to talk about CloudAerith with some others that like the pairing. ^^

Yeah, I've been busy too (And sick).

Last year, my hair was down to my butt, (And I'm 5'5 & 1/2) plus my hair is sort of a chestnut brown, with a little bit of blonde highlights, and it is curly. Then, I cut it almost all off (down to my ears) and it ahs grown past my shoulders now.

I'll check out those fics. I wrote one about Cloud/Aerith proposal. It's not quite what you'd think...

It's been a long time since I played FF 7. Ha, ha, like 10-11 years ago. I remember being sad when Aerith died, but that paled in comparison to how sad I felt when Zack died. I finished the game two weeks ago, and I'm still coming to terms with his death. Before Crisis Core I was probably a little bit of a Clerith, and a little bit of a Cloti. Probably more of a Clerith than Cloti. I remember liking Aerith more than Tifa, and I was really mad at Squaresoft for killing her off. I kind of lost interest in the game after Aerith died, but I managed to finish it. I loved love stories as a preteen, but I was a tad disappointed because they killed off Aerith before anything good happened with Cloud. I really wanted something to happen between them! It's been so long, but that's kind of what I remember. Anyway, zoom forward to the present, and I picked up Crisis Core on a whim. I like RPG's, not FF 7 in particular, but it got good reviews so I figured I would try it out. I never imagined how much I would like Zack. His story was so tragic. For those that haven't played, or finished it, spoilers below:

Zack spent the whole game trying to get back to Aerith. He was always trying to sneak off in between jobs to see her or call her. Their relationship before his disappearance was about 1-1.5 years so they didn't show every encounter between the two of them; just a select few. Many people in Shinra, including Sephiroth, knew about his relationship with her. One of the more tragic aspects of the whole thing was that he died just trying to get back to her. He might have made it if he wasn't in such a hurry after reading her 89th letter. She wrote him 89 letters over 4 years, and 88 of them never got to him O_O Tseng was responsible for this, and would later regret it for the rest of his life. . . Anyway, she was wearing a pink dress in anticipation of his return because he asked her to wear pink for him. She was wearing the ribbon that he bought her and said she would cherish it always. As if Square Enix didn't make it sad enough, Zack's last memories are of Aerith. She's the one he cherished most. He had lots of friends too, but they all faded until the last one was of Aerith. These DMW memories felt like a sucker-punch at the end of the game. Cloud on the other hand has several memories in AC when Sephiroth asks what he cherishes most. Zack was definately crazy about Aerith, and he died before he could see her one last time. I cried, and cried for hours after he died, and I was shaking. In fact I cried the next day. I was yelling at Aerith in the final scene telling her that Zack died just trying to make it back to you, and that he never forgot you. Besides that, they've retconned MOTP in the new version of the FF 7 Ultimania, and confirmed the love between Aerith and Zack.

Anyway, that's my story of how I changed from a Clerith to a Zerith. If I never played Crisis Core, I probably wouldn't care much, but I'd still be a weak Clerith. For those that have never played Crisis Core, just watching movies on Youtube, or reading the script doesn't do justice to the love that they had for each other. Ha, ha, it also doesn't do justice to Zack. The love/passion was probably stronger from Zack's end, but then again I've always liked the relationships where the guy chases the girl ;) I'm not totally against the idea that there were romantic feelings between Cloud and Aerith in the month that she knew him. They were both lost souls looking for something/someone. Sadly, she didn't live very long. I actually came on here to see if anyone mentioned Nojima's new novella, "Case of the Lifestream." That's probably the greatest arguement for Clerith. Unlike MOTP, which totally screwed Zack's character over, this one doesn't mention Zack. I'm actually glad because I'd like to think that he and Aerith could be in love again in the afterlife. I'd like to believe that she loved Cloud for the month that she was with him, and that he held a deep place in her heart, but that she ended up with Zack after death. Something I was thinking about the other day in regards to Cloud, is that after AC he probably moved on. If not with Tifa then maybe with another girl. He's still young in AC. The point of AC was that he learned to move on, but not forget. For that matter, I thought Cloud felt equally guilty for Zack's death. I mean Zack only drug Cloud around for a full year, and saved him from becoming a Sephiroth puppet. If people think Aerith can move on after Zack's death, then I think Cloud can too. You never forget those that you truly love though. Just like someone who is married, and their spouse dies. They get remarried, but they don't forget the love of their first spouse. Anyway, keep on with the Clerith love! Ha, ha, just wanted to share my opinion because I hear lots of references to Cloti's, but not as many to Zeriths. Ha, ha, as a sidenote I think Clerith does sound better than Zerith :P

Woo. It's been a long time since I've posted, but I'll give it a shot.

Well, I'm personally a Cloud/Aerith fan through thick and thin. No amount of proof can really discharge that, because I'm really that stubborn. But I still think everything bit of evidence out there is still falling into their favor. The only way the Cloti vs Clerith is ever really going to be solved is if SE just comes out and says what's canon. Though, I guess now that some things in the love triangle are being "updated" I suppose more wars will continue. But since I have no patience for the dumb arguments, because somehow I always get stuck with the ones that can't spell to save their lives. Cloud and Tifa remain to be nothing but an unrequited love to me. Tifa had her chance and she really quacked at it. It's Aerith's turn to take a whack at it. (Sorry. Just finished watching Power Rangers.)

Since it started with Kingdom Hearts for me, it's really all the proof I need. Plus, now that I know tons and tons are the canon events of the backstory for Cloud (sort of) it makes a little more sense. Cloud is looking for the person that represents his light. He goes to Hades. Hades is the Lord of Death. Aerith is dead (or at least, that's what Cloud thinks.) Honestly, they wouldn't have added the Clerith part in the end for any silly, old reason. Whether or not a person likes it, the end does imply that Cloud and Aerith have a close connection that always leads them back to each other in any alternate world and/or universe.

That's expectedly added with the fact the Kingdom Hearts isn't canon, so Aerith isn't his light. Then the second one comes along and that's when the hypocrital big but comes in. "Aerith's not his light, because KH isn't canon. But still, Tifa's Cloud's light." Riiight. So, then. Aerith said that Cloud's light was going to bring him back to her. Tifa is going to bring Cloud back to Aerith? That makes about as much sense as Kairi falling in love with Piglet. KH isn't canon. I won't dare dispute that, but there are similarities between the stories, especially in the second one. KH Cloud is looking for his inner light whereas as canon Cloud searches for forgiveness, salvation, and redemption from himself. KH Aerith waits for him to come back at the cliffs to her during the credits whereas canon Aerith waits for Cloud (now that he found what he was looking for) in the flower fields. KH Tifa wants to be the one to nuture Cloud and looks for him and canon Tifa isn't that much different.

Zerith is another story entirely. When I first heard of them, I thought they sounded kind of interesting, but until I played Crisis Core, I really didn't much about them. And. Well. I was better off that way. Zack was a rip-off from Cloud (even though, the game says it's the other around; really, Cloud was created first.) So I forgave that part, letting Zack puppy-like ways grow on me. I even looked passed the fact that he met Aerith the same, exact way did. All the cutscenes they had were disgustingly cute. It was clear that it was people call "first love." But I felt Cisseni and Zack had romantic connection, and as an Aerith fan in general, that didn't sit well with me. And it didn't help that Zack and Cisseni went on a date, as friends, but still. So, it makes sense that Aerith would think he ran off with some girl. Point is, she didn't trust that Zack wouldn't do that to her. In all fairness, he was a faithful boyfriend, then again. . . He was, after all, in a tube of mako for a good while.

But then 89th letter came and when Zack shouted, "What do you mean FINAL!? (lol. Very punny) Aerith...wait for me," or something like that, my heart really broke for Zack. It was obvious he felt something for her, too. He wanted to show her the sky, maybe he wanted to do that because she was so afraid of it. Instead, Aerith wound up with a Cloud *winks* falling from the sky. Anyway, I have discovered that I do have a soft spot for Aerith and Zack, but only as a past canon couple. I can't really picture Aerith, and the way she really matured since that time, ending up with him. Just friends. That's the way I see it. Nobody has to agree.

Anywho, sorry if any of this has offended anybody. It's nothing personal in all honesty.

Now. What can I say about Cloud and Aerith themselves? Well, one of newest favorite movies is A Walk to Remember. Landon and Jamie sort of remind me of Cloud and Aerith. If you haven't watched the movie, I would recommend it you're a Clerith fan. And if you're not a Clerith fan, still go watch it. It's a good love story, and may not remind you of them.
