QueenAriana"What was the exam" It was an examiner lady comming to a hall in our town, and she had to examinate each student, and she gave me a 60% and said i was bgreat. It was for singing. Yesterday i had an awards night i was nominated by my school princepal and he said "You study so much and when you are not studying at school, your a role model for our school." I got a 250$ gift card for our beauty parlour (so i could get a full make over, i'm getting my belly buttorn peerced and my hair straightened) also i got a glass trofey and a $1000 check. | #101 May 31st 2008, 3:51am

Heart4HappinessRanting, beware... WHAT IS UP with this bloody exam period? Stayed up last night working on an RS project, which meant I got zilch German revision done, which meant that today's German test went absolutely shite, which means I'm going to have to make up for it in the next few tests, which means I have to go and study, which means lack of a real life, which means... gah... I don't have the time to continue... :( | #103 Jun 04th 2008, 9:59am

Shakespeare FreakazoidGrrrrrrrrr...I need to rant. I just found this guy on youtube (He commented on a video I watch regurally) that BEATS his wife and 7-YEAR OLD daughter. And he locks he daughter in a coal cellar for days at a time for "Giving him Cheek" and locks his wife down there for saying anything about it!! OMG THAT MAKES ME ANGRY! I don't even know why he would say that in a comment for the video for THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS BY MARTINA MCBRIDE. Why was that god-forsaken man even watch ing something by Martina Mcbride?!?!?!? Better yet, Why would he F***ING TELL THE PEOPLE OF YOUTUBE THAT HE'S BEATING THEM?!?!?!?!? SOMEONE SHOULD F***ING CALL THE F***ING POLICE ON HIM!!!!!!!!!! *Deep breaths* Ok. I think that now that I have put this on three topics, my rant is over. | #118 Jun 11th 2008, 11:38am

RyanKathrynCeliaOkay... I bite. I bought a copy of Twilight (I think... the first one) but I have yet to read it. I fully expect to hate it (simply because from the first few pages it's in first person... it takes a lot for me to like first person - things like The War of the Worlds and The Historian are fantastic first person books, and The Queen of the Damned has some first person in it. There was a great one I read about cloning a while back that was simply brilliant)... So... Alice conformed. And she doesn't like conforming, but she wants to see what everything is all about.... | #119 Jun 14th 2008, 12:51pm

Shakespeare FreakazoidOk, I'm in a good mood, so i won't steal Charli's chainsaw and chainsaw you for not knowing that the frirst book in the series is Twilight. Just so you know, All three books are in first person, all the way through. But you'll either A. Learn to love Bella, B. Hate her guts, but just pretend it's you falling in love with Edward, or C. Hate her guts and get annoyed by Edward, but still love the book. (I fit into catigory C.) Fine. There is also a catergory D, but we do not speak of it. It is the catergory the dreaded Twilight-haters fit into. | #120 Jun 14th 2008, 2:52pm

RyanKathrynCeliaAfter some time searching (without much to go on, by the way, other than the fact that I read the book) I found it. It's called Never Let Me Go by author Kazuo Ishiguro. I fully recommend it! | #126 Jun 15th 2008, 8:40am

starcrossedvoyagerI read a book in the first person narrative that I really liked. It was about a boy whose mother has a genetic neurological disorder, and he skips college against his father's wishes and goes to work at a genetic research facility, enraging his father further, as his father strongly dislikes the owner, who used to be an old friend of his mother's. As he spends more time working at the lab, he finds out more and more about his family and his mother, while trying to maintain the relationship with his father and girlfriend, Viv. It was a GENIUS book, and I loved it, even though I'm not a huge genetic engineering fan. http://www.amazon.com/Double-Helix-Puffin-Sleuth-Novels/dp/014240327X | #127 Jun 15th 2008, 11:11am

Lexie-HHere's a random rant.... WTF is with this sick obsessive fangirl crap I'm seeing everywhere over the Jonas Brothers??? Am I the only person who wanted to shoot myself in the head after hearing one of their songs? It's like Hanson all over again *shudders* | #135 Aug 19th 2008, 11:33pm
RyanKathrynCeliaHaha Lexie!! I have never heard any of their songs at all, but I went into the Hannah Montana section of ff.net (ages ago now, lol) and all their fanfiction was about the Jonas Brothers on tour lol. Aren't Hanson still really big in the USA? Or maybe they just sing MMMBop all the time lol... | #136 Aug 20th 2008, 2:59am

Lexie-HOh, I don't know, and I don't care (regarding Hanson). They are a black mark on the general wonderfulness of the nineties. Ugh. Mmm-bop?? How is that trite rubbish even remotely comparable to "real" music???? (Thanks for getting that stuck in my head, Alice - *laughs darkly*) (I'm going to feel really old if some of these people have never heard of Hanson lol) I've only ever watched Hannah Montana once (don't get me started on that, either. I know it's Disney, and at Disney they encourage the children to over-act, but there's only so much of that that I can take. Once was enough) but in between switching DVDs a few months ago my TV happened to land on Oprah's special episode about the Jonas Brothers, and I was sort of sucked in (morbid curiousity) by their mother babbling on about religion and something else and how it was so important in keeping the boys SO grounded ... it was like a car crash, I just couldn't look away. And THEN they performed, and holy crap it was a shocker. Stupid trite romantic crap ugh. Calling it muzak would be polite. Anyway, these .... boys' names have started popping up everywhere, and someone on the Twilight forum (I think) has name-dropped one of their songs as being perfect for that series, and I think that's just downright insulting and rude, basically. *laughs at the irony of Jonas Brothers invading Hannah Montana's fandom* .... How are they even relevant to each other??? No, wait, I probably don't want to know. Tween culture scares me I'm sorry if anyone likes them, but I do not. Quality over quantity, thank you very much | #137 Aug 20th 2008, 6:43am . Edited Aug 20th 2008, 6:44am

Cuban Sombrero GalHanson was kind of like the Backstreet Boys, right? In that case, I haven't heard their music, but I can imagine it. As for the Jonas Brothers, I've never heard them sing, but apparently it's scary. | #138 Aug 20th 2008, 10:33pm
Lexie-HNo, the Backstreet Boys were reasonably awesome. Do NOT insult them so. Hanson is in a league of its own..... (a group of brothers who look like sisters with their straight long blonde hair and impossibly high pre-pubescent voices and their nonsense-lyricist ways *shudders*) | #139 Aug 21st 2008, 5:40am
hondagirlI am in total agreement with Lexie, the Jonas Brothers are everywhere and need to be stopped. Immediately. Plus all three of them look alike and I don't know who is who. Hanson was a horrible part of my adolescent years. *shudders* They looked like girls and all they could sing was 'mmmmmm....bop." Unlike Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, these boys were a stain on the boy band syndrome of the late 1990's. | #140 Aug 21st 2008, 9:01am
