The Condor Built by the original Storm Hawks years ago, the engines are older than the team combined, and although temperamental, they still have the might to push the great vessel through gruelling journeys. The bridge lies in the bow and has the best visibility on the ship, including a couple of sixty-foot periscopes for travelling in cloud cover. Behind that lies the blacksmith shop and Piper’s darkroom for crystal nurturing. Finally, hatches lead to the squadron’s Air Skimmer bay and repair area, lining the airship’s lower decks. The Condor's seen more than her fair share of battles, but though the creaking hulk may look the worse for wear, the old ship still has a few tricks up her sleeve. And no one's better at coaxing them out of her than Stork. In fact, Stork and the Condor have come to the rest of the team's rescue countless times, swooping in out of the clouds with the horn blasting out a warning to anyone who dares to get in the way. The Talon Switchblade Cheaper to produce, with less heavy armour than the Elite, the standard Talon Switch-blade was designed to be a match for the Sky Knights standard Air Skimmer III. Like the Ultra, it almost outperforms the Skimmer in every category, except for manoeuvrability. The Switch Blade line boasts the worst crystal fuel economy in the sky, which probably doesn’t matter when you control 90% of the crystal mining in the charted world. That said, if this machine does happen to run out of crystal fuel it tends to drop out of the sky like a rock. The frame is equipped with a solid iron nose designed to withstand (a deliberate) head-on collision with other sky-rides. Talon Heli-blade A Helicopter that transforms into a road cruiser in bike mode. This sky ride has become synonymous with terror and oppression in the Atmos. The deafening drone of the Talon Helli-blades echoes relentlessly over the crystal prison mines and conquered and occupied Terras throughout the Atmos. Extremely manoeuvrable in flight mode, but must be deployed by a carrier or close to a Talon “club house” since the small jet engines are not designed for long range flight. With the ability to navigate tight hiding spaces, the Helli-blade can hover and target prey. Talon Heli-blade Elite Like the standard model, the Elite transforms into a road cruiser in bike mode, but boasts almost twice the amount of armour plating. Extremely manoeuvrable in flight mode, but must be deployed by a carrier or close to a Talon club house since the small jet engines are not designed for long range flight. With the ability to navigate tight hiding spaces, the Helli-blade can hover and target prey. The Elite model has added thrusters in the back for extra boosts of crystal energy, and can unleash a volley of energy blasts from its frightening crystal “chain” muskets. Slip-Wing Fighter Ultra Starling's model has been customized and stripped down to make it as light and fast as possible without compromising performance. Affectionately dubbed the RED STREAK, it's the fastest plane ever built, and if she has the right crystals, everyone else with eat her contrails! Air Skimmer III Ultra Same design as the regular III model with significant upgrades. Highly manueverable, it’s equipped with a special crystal fuel afterburner that gives the Ultra a short, powerful burst of incredible speed when deployed (as long as it doesn’t explode, which happens in about one out of 17.5 deployments, causing significant problems for the pilots) Air Skimmer III Ultra Same design as the regular III model with significant upgrades. It’s equipped with a secondary cock-pit and a special crystal fuel afterburner that gives the Ultra a short, powerful burst of incredible speed when deployed (as long as it doesn’t explode, which happens in about one out of 17.5 deployments, causing significant problems for the pilots) Aerrow's model is equipped with a special light-weight frame, which helps to cancel out the extra weight from the heavier armor paneling. Very little weaponry is attached, as he prefers hand to hand aerial combat (Sky Fu). Heliscooter A favorite amongst students and budget travelers throughout the Atmos. This sky ride is very affordable and gets excellent crystal fuel mileage. The available options and add-ons for this popular ride is mind-boggling giving the Heli-Scooter owner endless possibilities for customization. The engineers from Greemus were one of the last Terras to take to the skies, concerned with sustainable crystal fuel sources and environmental impacts. Air Skimmer III EL A slightly heavier version of the classic III combustion powered cycle, also equipped with crystal energy triggered folding bi-wings. Powered by two crystal jet engines in flight mode. Slightly less manoeuvrable than its standard counterpart, Junko’s ride is equipped with 8 crystal "little birdie" missiles (as seen in the trailer) and 8 crystal "turkey burps" launched via catapult or trap door. Specialty: When running properly, the Nimbus 7 series jet engines are renowned for their lack of noise when holding off on the throttle. This makes for a very stealthy entry into enemy airspace or terrain. The soft and light Thrombus tin used to frame the wings makes for a lighter, faster machine, but it’s not the best at withstanding energy hits in combat. Air Skimmer III A classic combustion powered cycle equipped with crystal energy triggered folding bi-wings (much better than the Air Skimmer II that had to be manually transformed from bike to flight mode). Powered by two crystal jet engines in flight mode. Unbelievably manoeuvrable and quick (if it’s not equipped with too much amour or weapons). Finn flies a medium weight standard version, equipped with a chain driven cross-bow firing crystal tipped darts. This makes for a very stealthy entry into enemy airspace or terrain. The soft and light Thrombus tin used to frame the wings makes for a lighter, faster machine, but it’s not the best at withstanding energy hits in combat. Talon Switchblade Elite This special version of the Talon Blade is very tough, heavily armed, and very powerful. Forged in the royal smelters of Cyclonia as the evil answer to the Sky Knight Air Skimmer III ULTRA. It almost outperforms the Skimmer in every category, except for manoeuvrability due to its excessive power and weight. The Switch Blade boasts the worst crystal fuel economy in the sky, which probably doesn’t matter when you control 90% of the crystal mining in the charted world. That said, if this machine does happen to run out of crystal fuel it tends to drop out of the sky like a rock. Secondary steel blades flip out of the wings to slice and dice an opponent’s ride in a dog fight. The frame is equipped with a solid iron nose designed to withstand (a deliberate) head-on collision with other sky-rides. The Dark Ace's model is equipped with three-inch thick bronze absorption panels on the wings that repel all but the most powerful energy blasts. The twin Magma 66 jet engines are the most powerful engines ever fitted on sky ride. A single ball-joint articulation between the front and back wheel allows him to make impossible turns in bike mode. Bone Wing A bi-plane that transforms into a motocross bike on land, the bonewing was built to handle the most rugged terrain without losing speed. Twin two-stroke crystal displacment engines combined with the lighter frame mean the bone wing can hit a much higher torque at lower RPMs. The two-stroke's infamous roar can be heard for miles Switchblade Elite This special version of the Talon Blade is very tough, heavily armed, and very powerful. Forged in the royal smelters of Cyclonia as the evil answer to the Sky Knight Air Skimmer III ULTRA. It almost outperforms the Skimmer in every category, except for manoeuvrability due to its excessive power and weight. Secondary steel blades flip out of the wings to slice and dice an opponent’s ride in a dog fight. The frame is equipped with a solid iron nose designed to withstand (a deliberate) head-on collision with other sky-rides. Ravess' skimmer has been specially stripped down, with aerodynamically redesigned armour plating to acheive maximum speed and stealth. Rex Guardians Air Skimmer classic One of the first skimmer models ever made, with a single set of manually-triggered folding wings. While these antiques are slower and clunkier in tight situations, the classic's Tundras steel plating and solid frame allow it to withstand fairly heavy fire. Absolute Zero Ice Grinder A crude crystal combustion powered snow mobile. The Ice Grinder rides on ice blades in bike mode, which transform into its single set of wings for flight mode. The engineers of Blizzaris and Edmontonia pride themselves in the reliability of these rides, which seem to run forever with very little maintenance in sub zero climates. Unfortunately, they tend to overheat and fall out of the sky in any temperature above the freezing point! Third Degree Burner Air Skimmer The Burners fly a heavily armoured version of the standard skimmer, equipped with extra thrusters to combat the strong gusts of wind during the frequent sandstorms on their home terra. Though heavy, the skimmers come equipped with three extra thrusters to make up speed (and guarantee a win in the drag races on the salt flats of Saharr!). The Blood Crow Home to the treacherous and terrifying band of sky pirates, The Murk Raiders. The Blood Crow can run almost silent in stealth mode, simultaneously masking most of its own energy trail, while searching out prey with its sonic finder. Deep in the bowels of the ship are trapdoors for releasing highly explosive floating energy mines. Cyclonian Destroyers Armed to the point of almost not being able to get off the ground, the Cyclonian destroyers are flying arsenals ready to throw down anytime, anywhere. Ravess' Flagship A sleek, silent base ship that chills the hearts of everyone who sees it as it prowls through the skies of the Atmos. Enhanced with The perfect backdrop for her symphonies of doom, played out by her squadrons of deadly Talons. Snipes Mega Battle Airship: Most Cyclonian Airship destroyers are already armed to the point of almost not being able to fly, but the plans for Snipe's Mega Battle Airship took this to a whole new level. By pushing his terrified engineers to the limit, Snipe will make his destroyer the biggest, baddest battleship in the entire Atmos. Nothing will be able to stop him! (That is, as long as they can get the thing off the ground.) Mr Moss’ Skyride “Bessy” A Talon Heli-blade that’s been beefed up and tricked out with a powerful crystal engine, dual exhaust and headers, and then shined and polished to perfection. Mr. Moss loves his sweet Bessy more than anything in life. Stork’s Safety Buggy The only air skimmer with a perfect safety rating from AAA (Atmos Aeronautic Association), the Safety Buggy comes with special balance booster rockets set on all four sides, giving it the best stability you can find when its in land-mode, and useful for balanced hovering when in flight. The Zaractian steel frame comes with reinforced roll arms, and 5-point safety harnesses. This particular model has been souped up by Stork to include, among other things, booby-trap detectors, indestructible tires, parachutes, anti-lock brakes, fifty-two independent external air bags, and an ejector seat. Because you always need an ejector seat. Skyquod Home to the Sky Knight squadron The Terra Deeps, the Skyquod’s definitely seen better days. But look closer and you’ll find she’s got a crystal-induction turbine, dual-action tiller, unyeildium plating, twin grapple blasters, and an omni-directional jib—which all add up to some serious guts! Emergency Rescue Balloon All airships come standard with a couple of these balloons, handy for times when you don’t really feel like going down with the ship. |
