DanPhantomCrushTopic: Talkback! Have a question about the story? Shoot!
I don't guarantee a complete answer, though. :D I'm not going to bother avoiding spoilers for stuff I've already written, but for future chapters, I'll mostly be fairly close lipped. |

E-DantesYes, I have a question: Why did Clockwork send Dan to Danny's time? Besides the fact that it was a basic spot for the story. Why didn't he simply send him to his own time? Saludos!! | #2 Jun 24th 2008, 10:01am

DanPhantomCrushOuch! I've taken foreeeeever to get back to this. That said, this horrible niggling annoying....yarrrrg problem with the current chapter finally got resolved, and I can move forward!!! I've been puzzling over an...issue with this chapter for eons, and now finally I think I've got...things...figured out to my satisfaction. :D Yeah. WOOOOHOOOO! (It's been driving me batty.) Soooo, your question! Are you asking me about the plot in the episode "The Ultimate Enemy"? If so, the real answer is...it's canon, lol. Or are you asking me for my own fan interpretation? Just for clarification, though- I think you're talking about the fact that Dan is "outside of time" at the end of TUE, right? Which means, for me anyway, that there is no alternate (or, more accurately, original) time line for Clockwork to return Dan to. So....he's stuck. Thus the Observers insisting Clockwork make Danny and Dan his personal responsibility. Yay. Not sure if I answered your question or not there. :) Actually...I think I know what you're asking, now. My brain had to process it...slowly. oO You're probably asking why I didn't grow the characters up more...? Well, I didn't want to stray too far away from the series- aka, I wanted Danny to still be in high school, not too far off from the character who, at the outset, everybody knows from the series. That, and there would be this confusion, for a bit: Dan: "Only two years have passed!" Danny: "No, it's been eight years....idiot!" Clockwork: "I'm...the....master....of...TIME! You're both stupid." Plus, er...well, I kinda wanted Danny and Sam to NOT be together yet when Dan shows up. Because, you know. *cough* The factors had to be lined up just that certain way for Dan to do what he did, and for Nathaniel to come about... *cough* Um...which, if you think things through, makes Clockwork a tad creepy. Well, or at least very manipulative. Which he is. Bwaha. :D Alrighty then. I'm actually itching to do some real writing on this chapter. It means scrapping a whole lot of other writing I did for it, but trust me when I say things are better this way. *cryptic smile* Plus all I've been doing the last week is making notes....detailed notes. But no actual writing. Yarg. Yeah, I'm slow! Sorry! |

E-DantesOk... I believe this question caused a mess in your head... That's good XD!!! And I was thinking you were ignoring me T_T Yes, you answered my question... and no, you didn't (sorry, it's still a little dificult to make me understand in English n_ñ') Well, I was talking about your own line of story. The reasons as a writter are very clear, definitly it wasn't be the same if Sam and Danny would be older or together. But inside your fic, what was the reason Clockwork send Dan to that time? Just because he's a manipulative/charm guy? I like your idea of not have many alternate universes: this mean Dan have only one timeline, but this could be in any time, so why did Clockwork decide to send Dan in this exactly time? This question is more about Clockwork reasons than the author reason ;P My theory is that he's doing this for Dan and Danny to merge... that's why he didn't stop Dan to rape Sam, but he did it when Dan and Danny were going to fight in the basament, before Sam's dissappear. He's trying to get together those two... But I have another question!!! Soooorry... but you opened this topic and nobody wants to ask something yet, and if you're going to take so much time to update, at least I'm going to ask, and ask, and ask... (Bwahaha!!) Why or how is that Danny could find Sam? As Dan and Danny's memories are melted I understand that Danny 'remember' things that doesn't happened him directly, but how did he know where could find Sam, if any of both them knew where was she? I'm asking you this since a loooong time ago but I forghet to do it | #4 Jul 03rd 2008, 11:11am

DanPhantomCrushHey! I finally updated the chapter...finally! Yay. :) Phew. Anyway, lol, nope, it's extremely rare that I intentionally ignore someone! (And then only if they're a stalker, or something.) So no, I was not ignoring you! Okay, to try to answer again...there were several factors. One, I went with the idea that Clockwork wanted time to have passed at the same rate for Dan, after TUE, as it did for everyone else. And since he also didn't want Dan to go crazy from being inside the thermos, that meant he would be released into the world after a years or two, and no longer. And when he was released, he was set where he would be if he had been out two years...so if he compared notes with any of them, in other words, they would end up at the same year and month. Clockwork knew this makes it easier for the characters (some more than others) to deal with Dan, and the amount of time he was gone. Er. I'm repeating myself here. What else? Now I'm forgetting! Um...looking over what you said....ah hum. No comment! Sorry! I'd rather not answer questions about later in the story, so that it's a surprise. :P Now, your other question. How did Danny find Sam? Nothing amazing. They've got a link of sorts. Sam, for one, is extremely perceptive. And right now Danny is more perceptive than he would normally be due to the split between himself and Dan. There's a mental link there, and that open connection sort of strengthens his ability to make connections with other people. Or that's how I rationalize it, anyway. Really, I just think Danny and Sam have a special connection, though Sam carries the majority of the talent in that area. For instance, she can feel when Vlad is spying on her through a camera, even when he is states away from her. I should mention that there was also some very subtle prodding on Clockwork's part. He sees the big picture...but when it comes to Danny, he takes a close look at the details too. lol...er, I guess that's it. Hope I was somewhat coherent... |
