What happened to Martin!?

To be honest, I kinda talked him into leaving. He was a bit perturbed by the personal attacks thrown at him in the Felix/Karst vs.Felix/Sheba discussion, and when he talked to me about it after, we started looking at why he was on this forum in the first place. And basically, it came down to that he just wanted to help the rest of the forum members. Martin has a weird tendency to do stuff just for charitable reasons - I don't know why, and I don't think he does either. Anyway, I pointed out to him that hanging out on a discussion board just for other people's sake is a really stupid thing to do, and he saw my point. If you want to do something for other people, you should join a volunteer organization or something.

Well you should talk Martin back into returning to these forums, Guy (I'll just call you that since The Pairing Guy sounds too long a name for me to put lol!) He shouldn't leave just because of the personal attacks thrown at him in the other forum! Heck, if people did that to me in a thread, I'd simply stop replying and let those jerks continue with their lame discussion!

But you're right about the charity work thing; this is not the place to do something nice for other people...I think the most charitable thing you can do on this site is give an author a review to make their day! :)

Anyways, get Martin back into these discussion forums, especially this thread. I'm pretty sure none of us here are jerks and will throw any personal attacks towards him if he suggests something...riiiiiight guys?

Sorry for the late reply, I only use this e-mail for my fan fiction stuff, so I didn't get the forum thread alert until just now. Anyway, it wasn't the personal attacks that made him leave, that was just what kind of made him think about if he was really getting anything out of staying on the forums. He might wander back in someday.

On a side note, I did kind of wonder why he was so upset about what happened in that thread. He's vented to me about people making idiot replies before, and looking over that thread, it really seemed tame compared to some of the vicious attacks he's had thrown at him on other forums.

Oh, and calling me "Guy" is fine... I really wasn't thinking that people would call me that when I came up with that name, but it makes sense to me now!

Yep, Martin does a lot of that. I was browsing the Shining Force section one time, and he's reviewed like every fic on there! I'm serious. It's kind of scary.
