ExtremeWriterYeah, seriously. I mean, there is such a thing as freedom of speech, but the things people post on, like, JB music videos are kind of rude. "How many Jonases does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Who cares? They've just screwed themselves!" Seriously, someone did post that. It was pretty rude. And, of course, people gave that person supportive replies back. XP | #101 Jul 26th 2008, 10:02am

ExtremeWriterLOL!!! But they're still jerks. I could just as easily apply that joke to their favorite 'better' band, and I bet they'd hate it. Of course, they'd probably say something like, "But Band X doesn't deserve that! The JoBros do!" | #103 Jul 26th 2008, 11:43am

AmberAmethystI don't hate them, but I actually listened to the music that wasn't aired on Disney Channel today, and it wasn't my type of music. I like how they can incorporate about fifteen different styles into one album, but some of those styles just aren't the type I like. I do like most of the ones they have shown on DC, and I like Hello Beautiful (not the lyrics really, but the style and-well, you get it), but besides that, I don't like many of them. Oh, sorry, forgot Move On. And I agree, they have done a lot of covers. "I am Indian though, so I listen to a lot of Hindi Film music. " Same here! And our music is awesome. This kid I know just randomly started singing "It's the Time to Disco" when I was at nerd camp, and I was like "What the heck?! How do you know that song?" Turns out she heard it in her movie analysis class. Oh my God, sickos! In the Eternity video, people kept cheering after Kevin said that their grandmother died. How do you not show sympathy after someone says that?! | #122 Jul 28th 2008, 3:43pm

soccersmileyGRL16Yay, we got another poster! Yeah, I have gotten a lot of my friends into Hindi stuff, they watch the movies on YouTube and all that, and they are AMERICAN! Any way, so am I but you know what I mean! I Sstill love the Jonas Brothers!!!! | #123 Jul 28th 2008, 5:57pm

Tina MarinaI suppose I belong here. :) So, do you guys like Camp Rock, or the JoBros? Because writing about the JoBros is against the rules, and honestly, it's just plain creepy. | #127 Aug 25th 2008, 7:27am

soccersmileyGRL16Writing fanfictions about Jonas Brothers is against the rules, not writing in forums. I like both, so this is a place to debate. | #128 Sep 06th 2008, 10:36am

thisaccountisdoneTINA ! :) Well, I liked Camp Rock. I know, it's weird considering I thought the acting was horrible, the songs were stupid and overall it wasn't even that great. But I liked it anyway. Despite the fact that those horrible boys were in it. I liked Demi Lovato and Aly Stoner in it though. Because writing about the JoBros is against the rules, and honestly, it's just plain creepy. It's like writing a bunch of Mary-Sues. Those boys have no depth. AND the people they're paired with are almost always badly written OC's. | #131 Nov 27th 2008, 7:14pm

soccersmileyGRL16Haha! What do you mean by the 'no depth' tho? OC fics are mostly badly written. | #132 Dec 30th 2008, 1:18pm

|
thisaccountisdoneI mean that, when people write about them, they're always perfect. Which is stupid, because no one is perfect. Not even the Jonas Sisters .... I mean brothers. OC fics are mostly badly written. That's very far from the truth. I've read amazing OC stories. Mostly in Harry Potter, CSI and others. The only time they're badly written is when the author wants their characters to be perfect. | #133 Dec 30th 2008, 1:33pm

soccersmileyGRL16Haha! Very funny . . . sisters I meant that a lot of JoBro OC stories are badly written . . . |

I Love u 1213So, this is my first blog, and I'm gonna do the best I can. In September of this past year, I was kinda falling out of the whole "Jonas Phase". Prior I had enjoyed all of their music, movies, etc. that they had, but my eyes were opened when I realized that none of them really actually had a good voice. And, like most boy bands, they were a bunch of hype. They had cute faces, hearthrob lyrics, but they were pretty shallow. But, I was still a fan. Call me loser, but I was still a fan. So, being a more, eh, educated and informed fan, I read about Joe Jonas', (19) new relationship with Taylor Swift. I was thinking, "what a great couple. It's like a teeny-bopper Brangelina. Or a new and improved Zanessa". So I was thrilled. I was fan's of both singer/songwriters, and I was happy for the both of them. Anyday I'd stand up for them. They were in the spotlight, and it was their turn. But then, October came. As I do almost ritualistically everyday when I check my email, I got onto Yahoos! "OMG!" site. And to say the least, I was disappointed. Taylor Swift, (whom I personally think is a beautiful girl) came out to the media and confirmed the rumored split with teenage heartthrob; Joe Jonas. She was saying that Joe dumped her in a 27 second phone call. Honestly, I am still a bit defensive when anyone messes with "My Joe", but even as a truly devoted fan, I was disappointed in him. Trying to muster up any sympathy I could for Mr. Joe Jonas, I said to myself, "Maybe he was overwhelmed. Maybe she ended the phone-call. Maybe the reason he hasn't come out and said anything to this is because she's twisted this to her advantage and he's now heart-broken and feeling remorse over letting her go. Maybe he's still a "good guy". But we all know that just didn't fit. And how do we know this? Because all of us media dirt readers read that only about a week and a half later, Joe was seen with 10,000 B.C. star Camilla Belle! How can any self-respecting young man break a girls heart and then throw salt on the wound by going out with a girl who looks like a man!? (No offense to Camilla Belle, she was pretty in 10,000 B.C., but she needs to fire her makeup artist...) So, I did some digging as a media reader and saw and read a bunch of interviews with the beautiful Ms. Swift. But, trying to be fair and balanced, I looked for any little bit of whatever I could find on what Joe had to say about this whole thing that has now given the media a bone to chew on. And I found it. In an obvious place that thousands of Swift and Jonas fans flocked to when they heard the news; The Jonas Brother's Official Myspace Page. Joe Jonas spoke in hypotheticals, but it was pretty obvious that finally he was manning up and shedding his side of the story on this. As pathetic as his story was. He said that "a certain person ended the phone call." Well, I don't know. I love Taylor, but I don't see any reason why either of them would lie about this. They broke up, broke each others hearts, and broke it to the press. It's their job, it comes with the contract. I wouldn't be surprised if it said in big, bold letters: "by signing this you will give up any personal things about yourself and never have a moment or thought alone again. Here's the line to sign on ___________." I think that Taylor probably did hang up and end the phone call. But put yourself in her place. Here you are next to an amazingly handsome young man, and turn out that he's dating you! You're living in a land of bliss and nothing could be better. And then the bomb drops and he's on the phone telling you, "aw gosh, sweetie I'm sorry but I love this girl I've never met and I'm gonna pursue a relationship I'm sure will turn out to be pointless. But don't be mad----." What would you do? You'd hang up the phone because you didn't want to hear anymore of the b.s. You know it's over and the only thing you can do about it is fume, cry, write a couple of hit songs about it and trash on the jerk who dumped you by leaking it to the AP. Well, at least that's what I would do. So we come to Thanksgiving week, the boy band of brothers are playing at the big game. They came here to make their mark on NFL history. And how do they do that? Well, they do that by jumping around on stage with a bunch of trashy cheerleaders doing some hokey dance next to them while attempting to sing a few songs that obviously they couldn't sing. Sad thing is, the songs were their songs! Poor Joe, the boy couldn't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow! And he looks as if nothings happened. All is right with the world and Taylor Swift's name never existed. And through the middle of their smash hit "Burnin' Up", he has the audacity, (this is what sealed it for me) to say, "c'mon girls!". Two things: Number One, that was Nick's part. Number Two, how the heck can he dare to say that with a bunch of cheerleaders slinking around him after breaking up with a girl who never would have thought he was just another player? So anyhow, this is my view, (and most of the people I know views) and I'm setting them out for the world to see. You can hate me for it, but in the final analysis, I'm on the Swift team. Amazing how a devoted Jonas fan can change sides so quickly, eh? |
|
Sliverloc303I don't hate them but they're not my favourite band in the world. I've seen videos of their concerts and they do a lot on stage. I've seen them do flips and spins and everything. I also heard that they play loads of different instruments so I have some respect for them. As for breaking up with Taylor Swift on the phone... that is just bad! |
|
isawayorkiepoowhen it comes to the 27 second break up call, I always kept in mind that, hey, they were half way across the world from each other. Should he really stay with her, when he has no real feelings for her, let her get more attached and then show up at her hotel door a month later just to say "sorry, I haven't had feelings for you in over a month"? It was better for him to end it before either of them got too deep. But as a huge Bandom fan, I've never had much respect for the boys as musicians. Nick started on Broadway and then immediately when he stopped doing shows, they got him a contract. He did a few singles then they got his brothers in there and BAM! Jonas Brothers were born! And when I think of my favorite bands, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco and Cobra Starship, I think, these guys spent years touring in a smelly old van, playing house parties and night clubs before they could get signed. Is that fair that all these great bands went through SO MUCH to get signed and make it as big as they have, when it was just handed to JB on a bloody silver platter? As well, I have soft spot for PStump and Wentz. I can relate to Pete, constantly on medication, feeling alone all the time, and I can relate to Patrick because I have horrible self esteem even when people tell me I'm pretty or a good writer. I can relate to these boys so much, but I can't do that with JB. Some of the guys in the FBR groups have been to hell and back to make it where they are now, but JB haven't really had to work for anything. JB have great shows (where, hey surprise surprise, only teenage girls show up ;) and are always on talk shows and have it made. FOB, MCR, P!ATD, CS, The Cab etc... have great shows, but when THEY have a bad album, they have old fans and new fans being all "They've changed so much! complete sell-outs!" but if JB have a bad album THEIR fans go "Oh well, they probably just weren't doing their best". Plus, most of JB's songs are made up of the same 8 chord progressions over and over. And hey, where's their OTHER members recognition? When do we ever hear of Greg, Jack, Ryan or John? If they're going to be a real band, let's at least see the WHOLE band on the covers of their albums and see THEM in photo shoots. |
