live2tivoI didn't hear anything about the certificates. I'm kind of ticked about it, too. I was on FanLib before it even launched. | #51 Aug 05th 2008, 6:16pm

ModerndaydrifterI got my certificate this past Friday. I think it was a nice gesture and I'm not really that embarrassed to show it to people. It was a nice gesture by the Fanlib staff and that 25 dollar gift card came in handy. | #52 Aug 05th 2008, 6:22pm

KarraCazYou only got $25? Hee.... I'm being wicked. Had an argument with my boss today! | #53 Aug 06th 2008, 10:33am

Jo Z. PierceThat is wicked. Naughty naughty... I got into an argument with a close friend today... basically I had to tell them friendship is over, which is really really hard on me. So, not in best mood. :( EDIT: In e-mail notification "which is really hard on me" was editied out. LOL! Even the censor filters know me by now? | #54 Aug 06th 2008, 10:37am . KarraCazYeah, that's really difficult! I try not to upset people but it seems to come naturally to me! Will they edit out 'come'! | #55 Aug 06th 2008, 10:47am

Jo Z. PierceLOL! Come on, now! This is hard on me already! LOL! Seriously, it's frustrating having to send a friend packing. Why are some people so nasty and think they can control your life? (No. I am not taking advice when it is bad...) And Why do they need you to text them 30 times a day just to say "HI!" And why do they get upset when you can't.... Sorry. I put up with them for months, but enough is enough. Rant over. *sigh* | #56 Aug 06th 2008, 10:56am

KarraCazYeah, that's definitely a 'bum' deal! I've got a 'friend' who never stops moaning. She only asks how I am so she can turn the subject round to herself. She could write a trilogy on the crisis (should that be criseses!) in her life. | #57 Aug 06th 2008, 11:02am

epalladinoI once had to get someone out of my life who wasn't even really a friend, just an acquaintance from a class I was taking. And even that was difficult because I really want to be nice to everyone. I later found out that this woman wasn't just moaning to me on the phone constantly, but had taken advantage of the fact that (as per what was done in graduate courses at the time) we all had access to the professor's home phone number. Now, this woman and I were unregistered auditors of the course who really had no particular reason to be calling the teacher. I bent over backwards not to take advantage of the fact that this teacher had treated all of us in the classroom as equals and let us all have his phone number. This other woman, on the her part, was calling the poor man as often as she was calling me--mainly to gripe about how awful her life was and how no one stayed her friend for very long. We later found out that I was not the only other student nor he the only teacher that this woman had latched onto, sometimes in very harassing ways. I finally forbad her from every calling me again (which, I do have to say, she complied with) and she was eventually banned from the college campus after she almost drove another teacher into a nervous breakdown. And, yet, to this day, I still feel really bad that I got rid of her from my life. I think she's very lonely and I can't help feeling sorry for her. Beth | #58 Aug 06th 2008, 11:20am

monstermoofieYikes, that is rough Beth! Glad you made the move away before you were in the teacher's situation! | #59 Aug 06th 2008, 11:58am

Jo Z. PierceYikes! Et yikes encore! I agree! That's rough. I often thought there should be some kind of government program to pair people up. Crazy people. Lonely people... sort of like the Government version of Match.com. Then you just stick these people together and let them at each other. For example: People who talk to themselves on public transportation. Put two of them together, and they at least LOOK like they are talking to one another... Well, I'm not saying it's going to get an NEH grant or anything, but it's one option... | #60 Aug 06th 2008, 1:10pm

ModerndaydrifterThis isn't pertaining to a friend bothering me but it is still something bothering me. I've had someone call me UNKNOWN on my phone about 7 times now. Three times yesterday and four times today. I answered the first time the call came up and no answer. I let the next few calls go to voicemail. I figure if it's important they'll leave me a message. (They haven't) Well, tonight they call again and I went ahead and answered...no response yet again. This is getting OLD! And what makes it worse is I can't find out who it is and there's no way to report it. (sigh) I have no idea who it could be! | #61 Aug 06th 2008, 6:52pm

KyouenErgh, modern :( Remember that thread on fanlib where one person asked a question for your original character, and then you answered it along with another question? Anyone else want that back? I don't know how to make a new topic :( | #62 Aug 06th 2008, 7:31pm
