DwarfstarTopic: The Scenario Game
Heeeeelllloooooooooooooooooooo!!! To anyone who's found their way to this topic, what's up? I have heard in my travels across the Interwebs of a particular forum game, known as The Scenario Game, which is quite fun. Here's how it works (and please do read all of these): The person who starts the game is the Host; they will remain the Host unless they leave and/or pass the status onto someone else. The Host will pick a certain number, with six being the lowest you can pick, and from there on up. Remember, if you want a good game, it's best to pick a number large enough to make the game fun and flexible; however if you have too terribly high of a number, you won't really be able to keep up with it too well, and stuff will start to get quite complicated. It's generally regarded that a higher-than-recommended number is better than a lower-than-recommended one. Each person who joins the game has to pick random characters from the fandom that particular game is based in. Whatever number the Host picked, that's the number of canon characters they have to pick. (Now you see why a nice, high number is good.) The player assigns one canon character to each number, and posts them in list format. The Host then takes one or more random numbers from the list, and thinks of the basics of a scenario. On each player's list, whatever name/s correspond with the number/s are the canon characters involved. Each player then has to expand upon this and think of a somewhat more fleshed-out scenario. Here's an example: You have the Host, Player 1, and Player 2. The number is 13. The lists look like this: Player 1 1. Tomos 2. Sophie 3. The Werelupe King 4. Kass 5. Commander Garoo 6. Isca 7. Kanrik 8. Bonju 9. Linae 10. The Gelert Assassin 11. The Shadow Usul 12. Heermeedget 13. Meerouladen Player 2 1. Ylana Skyfire 2. The Jelly Chia 3. Adam 4. Commander Gormos 5. Captain Scarblade 6. Bruno 7. The Spirit of Slumber 8. Armin 9. Jazan 10. Lady Frostbite 11. Cylara 12. Roberta The Host says that 1 and 6 kind of like each other, but not quite; now 12 and 9 are trying to get them together, and 10 and 4 are trying to bring about the opposite. Player 1 fills in the gaps by saying that Isca and Tomos met at a celebrity party on New Year's Eve; they sort of appear to really like each other, but they haven't really done much about it except for making out on New Year's. While everyone else ignores it, Linae and Heermeedget decide that Tomos and Isca are really in love, and they just need a little push; and besides, they look cute together. Kass and the Gelert Assassin are appalled at this blatant breach of canon pairing, and are determined to return to the status quo. Hilarity ensues. Player 2, however, tells a different story: when Ylana escapes to her spaceship, she makes a clean getaway; however, the ship is hit by a chunk of rock flying through its orbit. She manages to crash-land on Neopia, with her ship damaged irreperably and several wounds to herself. As if this wasn't bad enough, she's landed right smack in the center of, you guessed it: The Haunted Woods. As she tries to run away from the creatures stalking her, she just manages to get more and more on her trail. Finally, she collapses from hunger, pain, and exhaustion, unable to go any further. Just as a particularly nasty brute is about to finish her off, who else but Bruno comes roaring in to save the day! He takes her to live with Sophie, and after awhile they start to grow closer. Bruno appears to have made two friends, as well: a blue Acara girl and and a regal Kyrii. It is revealed that these two are actually none other than Roberta and Jazan in disguise; they had both started off to have a normal vacation without the constant mobbing, and only eventually do they realize that neither of them is your average Neopian. Now, they are trying to make their friend happy by coaxing Bruno and Ylana together. Meanwhile, Commander Gormos is on a mission to find and kill Ylana, for abandoning the cause the moment things went wrong. He has also formed a pact with the escaped criminal Lady Frostbite; together, they are on a quest for revenge... The Host will then judge which of the two has a better overall score; the higher one, obviously, gets first place. Points for creativity, originality and plot go towards your position. (Note: this is optional.) The Host may also have their own list and come up with their own scenario. However, if this is the case then there can be no judging, and any viewers can be left to make their own judgements. Play fair, don't use explicit swearing, violence, or groadiness, and have fun! ~Dwarfstar~ P.S. The number is 15; here's my list: 1. Heermeedget 2. Meerouladen 3. The Gelert Assassin 4. Werhond 5. Ylana Skyfire 6. Bonju 7. Kanrik 8. Sophie 9. The Werelupe King 10. Linae 11. The Spirit of Slumber 12. Lady Frostbite 13. Mammoth 14. Jazan 15. The Shadow Usul Bye! | #1 Dec 12th 2008, 11:09pm | |
