starcrossedvoyagerHey, Katy! How's your NaNo coming along? :D |
Bad Mum~waving~ 5500 words of complete drivel, going in a completely different direction from how I planned it. But I'm having fun. How about you? |
Wendy BruneHahah SCV, my name on there is WendyBrune (I'm so original, LOL.) Whats everyone else's? |
TheWordFountain:) Well, I'm TheWordFountain. I'll go search for you and add you. |
Wendy BruneHehehe, actually Wordy I guess yours and already searched for you. The synopsis of your story sounds really interesting. Are you ever gonna post it, like on whatever fanfiction's original work counterpart is called? |
TheWordFountainOh FictionPress? I dunno. That actually sounds like a really good idea, once I get it edited, but I'd be really afraid of someone ripping it off. |
starcrossedvoyagerYeah, I don't recommend FictionPress for novels. I mean, sure it's a great way to get feedback and everything, but in the off chance you ever want to publish it, it's really not a good idea. |
Wendy BruneBlah. I totally want to know how it ends. =) |
TheWordFountainWait, mine? Haha, thanks. I honestly don't know how it's going to end. But yeah, mine has a lot more information than I even put into the synopsis, but I suppose that's a good thing. Rah. |
Wendy BruneIt sounds interesting. 699 words. I'm so not going to finish this year. |
TheWordFountainYeah you will. A lot of people have a hard time starting. Like, I dunno. Ha. I don't think I'll finish this year, but only because I'm not feeling NaNo at all this year. Like, I'm all depressed and angsty and stuff right now. I like TWO guys, both of who don't like me back, so I'm all boo-hoo and shit. Rawr. |
Wendy BruneAwh, poor Wordy. *pats on back.* Can you be sure they don't like you back. Maybe they're just being boy-ish (aka st00pid) | #2262 Nov 03rd, 5:37pm . Edited Nov 03rd, 5:37pm

TheWordFountainWell, one is currently worshiping the ground his girlfriend walks on, even though she sorta-cheated on him. And then the other is the football jock, uses-girl jerk (but they're both REALLY hot.) Anyway, the last one isn't dating anyone, I think, but even though we had a 2-hour FB convo, he doesn't initiate conversation with me in school, and he would never risk his reputation to date me (even if he liked me) |
Wendy BruneUm, if that were true about the last one, you are so much better than that! But I seriously doubt that's the case if he spent TWO HOURS talking to you on fb. Seriously, my boyfriend doesn't even do that. |
TheWordFountainWell, he's like two people. He's either himself when talking to girls (like the FB convo) and then more jerkish/guyish with his friends. Or he's just acting all whatever w/ girls because he knows that it'll help him get into their pants. Ha. And I might be better than him, but the thing is...you can't help who you like. *sigh* Yeepppp. I'm being angsty. |
Sadie LovegoodI have a right to be pissed. Look at my FB status for why...I'm too exhausted to re-write it. |
starcrossedvoyagerOh right - how are things with your boyfriend, Wendy? :D I'm sort of weird on the love life front. I have this really weird thing going on with a guy in my class (it's purely physical), but I still like this guy in my class, who's practically perfect... of course, he has a girlfriend, and they've been together for a year now *headdesk* Aww, I'm so sorry, Sadie *super-megatron-hug* |
Wendy BruneSCV - Um, amazing. =D Hahah, I totally understand where you're coming from on the boy front. Def don't give up on the perfect guy. When he finally breaks up with his g/f, you can be waiting in the wings to "comfort" him ;) Wordy - Blah, you have total excuse to be angsty! Have you told him how you feel? Sadie - I hope everything is alright =( |
TheWordFountainNo, I haven't told him because I figure that if I did, he'd just brush it off because he doesn't know me that well. So yeah. |
Sadie LovegoodI want to apologize to everyone here for being such a yutz lately with my moodiness and hormotional nonsense. I guess not being a teen doesn't prevent the depression from possessing me. Life has been sucking for me and I'm just bringing youse guys down. Canst thou all every forgive me? |
Cuban Sombrero GalTo be honest Sadie, you're not the only one. I think everyone's lives have been in various states of suck, lately, and you shouldn't have to apologise for it. :) |
lyin'Seconding that! |
StoryGirl02Boys suck. Honestly, I really hate them. |
starcrossedvoyagerJust did my SAT IIs, and in the words of Turtle: getting raped would've been better. |
Bad MumHowever bad an exam, comparing it to rape - even in jest - is pretty offensive in my opinion. |
lyin'it's a word that gets thrown around a LOT lately... bad sports team losses, etc., ala "Dude! You just got raped!" :P my guy friends in high school went through a phrase when they frequently used the oh-so-delightful variation of 'ass-raped' for all kinds of things, and my brother's mostly dropped it since i yelled at him for a while but he'll still use it as an expression occasionally, and so do his friends. when i was abroad, another American girl confided that she'd been date-raped a while back, which was why she was planning on pursuing being an advocate for abuse victims, and one of my guy roommates threw around the word 'rape' about four times in as many sentences in front of her while I tried not to cringe. but that's not to say i haven't been guilty of using it myself when i've felt really exasperated and in particular company, and though i generally try to keep it out of my vocabulary, it's become so ubiquitous with mine and SCV's generation, particularly among guys our age, it seeps in and i've found myself *thinking* sentences that definitely use it lightly... which even Sting has done... "the logic ties me up and rapes me..." it may come off as crude, but it's usually unintentional. btw currently, i'm watching Saturday Night Live with Taylor Swift, which is pretty awesome... and they're making horribly funny prison rape jokes, in song, to the tune of 'do, a deer,' in the skit on RIGHT now. ;P if you're not watching it and didn't see the Twilight parody skit, definitely look for it online tomorrow! | #2276 Nov 07th, 9:38pm . |
Sadie LovegoodI only use the word 'raped' in the 'mind-rape' sense. |
TheWordFountainThe majority of jokes are offensive no matter which way you slice it. But guess what, guys? I'M FINISHED WITH DRAMA. NOW I CAN GET STARTED ON MY NANO NOVEL AGAIN. HALLELUJAH!! Also, does anyone know anything about the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? I'm thinking about joining cast for the musical this year, but I don't know anything about it... |
c.sheep*raises hand, jumps up and down* PICK ME! PICK ME! Join the cast. Do it. It's a fun show based on the movie. Opened on Broadway in '05, it's about a bunch con artists who cheat women out of money. And in the end, the girl scams them instead. Musically, it's more jazzy swing type. Yeah. Do it. Go for it. It's fun. |
TheWordFountainLOL. Okay, I'll take your word for it, Cindy. :DDD Oh, I've missed you so much!!! You're definitely too busy. But guess what? You only have 1 more week with those buttheads!! |
starcrossedvoyagerCONDY, I MISS YOU. |
TheWordFountain:( She's not on nearly enough. Gods. |
The Awkward TurtleI miss Teh Condeh. :( |
TheWordFountainMe too. But I think we've established this. LOL. Okay, so, what topic should we make in Randomness so we can get lots of people talking? It's gotta be something awesome...something current...something everyone cares about... MILEY CYRUS! (and if people are unsure, I'm kidding.) |
The Awkward TurtleI hate Miley Cyrus. Ahhhhhhhhh, Dexter is so making me procrastinate. Rah rah rah. |
TheWordFountainI'm trying to fix my broken accordion folder, but I need some glue for the hot glue gun. I'm seriously considering driving to Kroger so I can get some, and then I'll buy some make-up too. :D |
starcrossedvoyagerEverytime I see 'accordion folder' I read 'accordion' and subsequently spend a minute wondering 'Why does Wordy have an accordion?' |
TheWordFountainLOL. I'm going to buy an accordion, just so you can actually wonder that. Besides, how awesome would it be for me to have one anyway? It would become like the next big craze. Instead of Ukulele's, it'd be accordions. |
starcrossedvoyagerLOL NICE. How's NaNo going? :D |
TheWordFountainFug. Nowhere. *headdesk* Also, who all here at the RL is doing NaNo? Because no one is really talking about it, and I think we need to have a serious discussion about this. I want to hear what everyone is doing!! And maybe it'll help me get back on track with my NaNo. |
The Awkward TurtleLol. College version of NaNo is a no-go so far. I'm working on it. xD |
TheWordFountain:( This sucks. Honestly, my NaNo sounds good, but it's so freakin' predictable. And like, I feel like it's a ripoff of some other book. |
The Awkward TurtleIT'S NOT STOP IT. YOUR NANO IS FANTASTIC. |
TheWordFountainYou don't even know all the stuff that I've thought up since the last time I told you about it. How do you know I haven't come up with incredibly predictable plot points? |
TheWordFountainArgh. BRB. Getting glue sticks. |
starcrossedvoyagerJust remember to be avant-garde. | #2296 Nov 08th, 12:47pm . Edited Nov 08th, 1:08pm

TheWordFountainWhat does that mean? Haha. Also, I didn't get the glue I wanted, so this crap better work. *annoyed* |
lyin'well... i'm kind of doing Nanowrimo. maybe. not sure. i was the 'student example' spokesperson at the English/Creative Writing panel-thing at my college's open house today and one of the prospective students asked me whether the creative writing program participated in Nanowrimo... i think 'cause Writing Club at his high school is encouraged to. so i have it on the brain. last year's 'novel' is sitting somewhere on my desktop... i was way behind on my word count because of the craziness of school and I was planning on attacking it like mad the last ten days of November... and then my dad died. so i have not touched it since. and as such I'm kind of reluctant to commit to 'really' doing nanowrimo since it gives me weird mixed feelings and a sense something else will go horribly wrong, and so i haven't been on the website at all, and probably won't... yet on November 1st I dutifully sat down and wrote a couple thousand words, and have done so, on an original story, at a splotchy rate ever since... even though that i'm writing my *thesis* this semester and really shouldn't be getting into anything else. I think rather than aiming for a big November achievement, I'm trying to use it to push myself into a lasting, permanent groove of daily writing to set me up for a) next semester's HUGE creative writing project, which should be motivation enough and for which i would like to churn out a novella, at least, and b) to get me writing steadily, at least a little/few hours worth everyday, since after all I'm planning on grad school for writing. soooo... at any rate, I am involved with a rather epically-designed large original story involved that I intend to work on steadily throughout November! ;P |
TheWordFountainDo you mind telling us what your novel entails? I'm sure it's like, amazing. :D |
Wendy BruneI kinda like lyin's idea of a big november achievement. Like, I don't think I can write all 50,000 words, as I'm so behind. Maybe I just want to write a lot. Like 30,000 words? |
