Jefara, the sorceress Rendal, had given her life protecting the dragon stone, which Saren now presented to Lady Setepenre. The dark green stone was rumored to have great power, which it would bestow on the one who could unlock its secrets.

"Quite ordinary looking, Setepenre commented. "Certainly you were able to "coaxe" the spell out of the old witch, before you ended her wretched life."

Saren paused before answering. His mistress' temper was as legendary as her ruthlessness. Jefara had uttered three words before expiring.........

As the Ransom was being readied for combat, Kyuui brooded on her rejection by Setepenre. The woman clearly suffered from the Sith habit of not taking actions that could save their life. Myoujou was a truly deranged woman. She not only suffered the brutal training that Byakuko had, she also sufferwd the trauma of death. As well as being revived in a truly ghoulish manner. Plus she spent the past 12 years of her 'new' life steadily acquiring the midichlorians of the Oedo system. Her very name, "Morning Star" was either prophetic or Beza-Dan chose to give her an ironic power. her non-basic Force abilities were all photon-based. In just a decade, she had acquired a reputation as a Goddess in her own right. As High Shamaness of Oedo, Kyuui witnessed such power first hand when a long fomented rebellion was destroyed. Most of the rebels surrenderad afterward. Surprisingly, she didn't execute the survivors. Instead, she 'acquired' their midi-chlorians. their wills completely sudsumee by hers. The C'baoth clone had achieved this ability, making him the most dangerous Force enemy of the Skywalker age.

"Your Eminence?" A battery commander walked up to her. "We are far from any Tibanna Gas sources. Our combat persistence will be low. A pitched battle should be avoided."

"The transports which evacuated Nolatael had a fleet escort them to Oedo. It won't accompany them the whole way. They'll hand them of to other warships & come back to us. I'll have them cordon off the Hyperspace routes leading to our target. I plan on recreating Abatoi."

The Officer winced. Abatoi was a powerful alien nation which was a new member of the New Republic in the Civil War. Kyuui's ancestor, Kami, who was currently a Force Ghost, had targeted the nation as a message to weaker systems. The Ssi-Ruuk & Oedo Fleet aided him while he massacred the 6 Fleets sent to relieve the system. Admiral Ackbar, of all people, was the Fleet Commander Kami outwitted. He later destroyed the planet while dueling Skywalker & a Dark Jedi. He even defeated his own half-sister, but nearly died as a result.

"So, you want a genocidal terror attack to intimidate Setepenre?"

"No. To IMPRESS her. She has no respect for us. She will see HOW superior Oedo is. She is nothing but a bit player on a backwater world. Darth Sidious must be rolling in his grave. When will we drop out of hyperspace?"

"Time to target is in 5 hours Darth Magnus Lacer"

Obscure Republic World

Darth Lacer (Kyuui)

The giant warship dropped out of Hyperspace and positioned itself an ideal bombardment trajectory. The planet in question was rather unpopulated, maybe 2 million or so. The pattern of urbanization was centered on 6 spaceports. It was not likely that they would have a full planetary shield, let alone one like Coruscant's. She waved at the Com Officer to open a channel.

"I am Darth Magnus Lacer, Lady of the Sith, Protector of Nolatael. In the name of That which is Pure, I shall cleanse this defiled world of your presence. But, I am not without honor. If there is a Jedi on this planet, then I shall duel them. On my word, my crew shall depart if I am killed. I will give you 2 hours to respond."

Exactly as she surmised, shields popped over each spaceport. Her vessels ESM lit up as the planet frantically requested aid. Too bad, she grinned. They'll get here too late.

At the end of the grace period, a small shuttle rose & requested permission to dock. When the Jedi was presented to her, it was a Padawan not much older than her. The Force presence she gave off was pathetic. "Why are you hear without a Master? I am not a killer of children.

The Padawan was shivering in the intensity of Kyuui's Force Shear. "I was visiting my fami- that is none of your concern! Foul beast!" She ignited her lightsaber.

Kyuui saluted w/ her own blade. "So you are fighting to protect your home. You truly have my sympathy. Not that it will matter in the end."

The girl lunged forward in a Form 2 attack, fast & fierce. Kyuui responded w/ Oedo Kenpo. She was impressive... but doomed. "Sorry, but I tire of this. You aren't strong enough to sate me." Kyuui switched to Ong-Dyndi Style & slammed the Padawan onto her back. Picking up the stunned Jedi's Lightsaber, she slit her throat with it. Despite cauterization, pressure in the Carotids was too high, and blood started gushing. It mixed with the air hissing out of her trachea, bubbling hideously. She grasped at her fatal injury and crawled after Kyuui. As she stood and made a final dash, Kyuui heard a single, drawn out beep. The kind used in Heart Monitors when the heart stopped.

As the stateroom was enveloped in a thermal detonator blast, the shuttle, packed full with proton torpedoes, gutted the hangar. It wasn't a fatal blow by far, but still an ugly mess. Kyuui staggered out of the ruined chamber, livid. "Batteries, Fire for Effect!"

"Darth Lacer, they are launching their ships. OUTSIDE their energy shields."

Kyuui had to smile. Despite being hopelessly outmatched, they were still well prepared for a fight. Even the Padawan, who somehow fit a thermal detonator into her handle, and wired her ship to explode when she died. A typical Sith would have died. She was badly charred though. A glance at the screen showed the defenders. None of the defenders was larger than a Corvette. The rest were snubfighters & freighters. The largest ships, were making a run for Hyperspace. Sadly, those routes were blockaded. no one would survive!

Since the Ransom had shielding similar to the Death Star, Kyuui HAD to keep the attackers outside. "Launch half our Hayate squadrons! Prepare Ryusei bombers to knock out the shields!" Unlike most starfighters, which used repulsorlifts, Oedo fighters could glide aerodynamically. This meant they could penetrate theater shields as easily as the walkers at Hoth. Of course, to test if this shield was EXACTLY the same, they'd send a droid scout to attack the shields.

The Hayate were famed for their speed. Even being designed 2 millennia earlier, they were unmatched as a piloted fighter. A few minutes into the clash, they opened a path for the Ryusei. The Hayate didn't bother to dogfight. They just sped through the defending fighters, succeeding waves inflicting ever increasing attrition. the freighter-type defenders had already been wiped out on the first few waves. Kyuui felt the heroic resolve slowly, inexorably, giving way to despair.

By now, the bombers reached the shields, and went right through. At once, a flurry of ground fire rose, to try to bring them down. The lead squadrons just sped to the apparent locations of the generators, while the follow-ups strafed whole city blocks to silence the flak. the moment the first shield fell to a sustained carpet bombing, that bomber group sped away without delay.

"As I said before. Fire. For. EFFECT!!!" She leered. Well fought, but your valor was for naught!

The city was only a hundred square kilometers or so. One salvo pounded it into a volcanic crater. After ten minutes, the world was silent. All resistance was wiped out. Craters covered a majority of the night side of the planet, volcanic activity casting an eerie glow. She hailed the Blockade commanders.

"We're finished. It is time to withdraw. By the way, which of you caught the refugees."

The officers all looked edgy. One by one they said the same thing. "No ships entered the route we blockaded. They must have blind jumped out of the system."

Her response was a single word: "Apotheosis."

As the Ransom jumped into Hyperspace, it left behind a world of shattered and subducted continents, covered in globs of mantle. The first dogleg of it's return trip to Oedo was towards Nolatael. Any investigative team would track the leaking radiation in that direction. She had laid the seeds for war. The Goddess would be pleased.

Gateworld

"So you desire that I attack the Echani? As well as slay Keira and Terel?"

"Indeed, the time has finally come to defy the Balance of the Force." The Goddess appeared to be sick. her once golden presence was now a greenish pallor. "Your child has struck first. I did not consent to this." She turned in her skeletal throne to look at the image of Myoujou. "You had better chose your words carefully."

The veiled maniac's eyes sparkled. "For reasons I could not fathom, she wished for us to spare the life of a Sith. The only way for a stubborn Heretic and Inferior Being to bow to Heaven is if they re plunged into despair. the Dark Side will not avail her! If things become difficult, I have the repulsors AND the 'Light of Life'. Kyuui is on her way here after her mission was completed. She is a good little girl."

I feel that one shall join us. Go to Coruscant and retrieve him." She lolled about as if in passion.

Ikar bowed his head. "As you wish." Hmph! They have gone completely insane.

Light suffused his form. When it receded, he was gone. Byakuko returned her attention to Myoujou.

"Keira, Terel, Byakuko and Kenris are heading to Oedo to overthrow you. Can you stop them?"

Myoujou laughed hysterically. "I eagerly await to see which is stronger: their Balance of the Force or my Light of the Morning Star."

(Not that any cowards would like to see if they could make a better post. They'd rather insult those who are still willing to play.)

(hmmm, this is really quite sad, to see such a promising rp just die like this. I was actually having fun, too. Well, if it ever picks up again I'll be back, I guess, but somehow I'm not so sure it well. At any rate, I'm not quitting, just waiting for it to be resuscitated ^_^ I loved playing with you guys)

I actually saw something interesting in tvtropes under "Serious Business" & "Stop having fun guys". it reminded me of this, but OMG, it was FAR WORSE. It was a WOW (Warcraft) Forum. A RP which you PAY to play is even more fanatic.

And the worst case was a Blue team, Red team chariot riot in the Byzantine Empire. Over thirty THOUSAND perished & the Gov't almost toppled.
