Beautiful ThiefTopic: Shit That Pisses Me Off And Other Rants
Post anything and/or everything that pisses you off, rants about your life and it's goings ons, etc, in this thread. Because we all know a nice rant often makes you feel just a little bit better. :) |

Yasona BlackWell, I was going to post my shit on the FP this morning, but I think this could be awesome too. STPMO: So, I wasn't really there. But I work at a furniture/import store where there is tons of breakable, fragile stuff. And a lot of glass. The assistant manager started telling me this story about this family that came in. The mother was on the phone and there were two kids: an older sister and a younger brother, but they were both rather young. The sister was pounding on the brothers back and the boy got mad or something and attacked one of the customers and punched and scratched him all up. So one of the sales associates went to get the kid off the customer and he wailed on her and started fighting her. The mother's still on the phone, completely ignoring everything. The sales associate let go (she didn't have much of a choice) and the boy took off towards another associate and did the same thing. The assistant manager told the mother to get off the phone and control her child, and all she kept saying was that he had autism. She kept repeating it. I'm sorry, I don't know much about autism, but I do know that if you're in a store that has a ton of glass and easily breakable stuff, you do not bring children in who aren't going to behave. It's not a children-friendly store. It's not even safe for children. Heck, sometimes it's not even safe for me. I've broken so much crap, it's not even funny. But yeah, that pissed me off. Edit: Yay! Gema227STPMO: I don't care if he had good reasons for doing so, I'm still super-pissed at F/R for closing down the FP. Well, not so much pissed at him, more just pissed because the FP closed down. I'm *angry*. |
|
Yasona BlackI agree, Gema! I was just starting to get into the swing of things. I'm pissed off at myself for not understanding flaming earlier. I could've had a lot more fun in the last couple of years. |

I know! I was just starting to feel like a regular and then *boom* he pulled the rug out from under our feet. I'd just wish that he'd given us a heads-up so we could have an adequete amount of time to say goodbye. |

Yasona BlackI know! I was just starting to feel like a regular and then *boom* he pulled the rug out from under our feet. I'd just wish that he'd given us a heads-up so we could have an adequete amount of time to say goodbye. I was wondering what happened to having my regular 25email alerts from the FP and I go to the STPMO and it was locked! I was like 'What the hell?' I thought someone hacked into the FP. I still have my doubts. It seems hugely sudden. |

Gema227I was wondering what happened to having my regular 25email alerts from the FP and I go to the STPMO and it was locked! I was like 'What the hell?' I thought someone hacked into the FP. I still have my doubts. It seems hugely sudden Yeah. It's kinda unlike F/R to just leave usd hanging like that. And in the Furnace, there was a kid who posted something along the lines of "If a kid that you flamed was a hacker, would you be scared if he hacked your forums?" Kinda weird, when you think about it. But I still think that it was F/R. If you read the posts, it really sounds like him. But: In relation to my STPMO, he was being a bit selfish, in my opinion. A long time ago, the FP stopped being "that doucebag flamer's forum." It wasn't just about F/R anymore. I knew alot of authors who knew what the FP was and not who F/R was. I think he should have handed off the torch, so to speak, and let Ro or SW or Faithie or someone he really trusted on the forum to take voer. |

Anarane FaelivrinSTPMO: I need a coat. I am freezing my butt off when I go out to the shops; but nooo they don't have the coat I want... |

Private TuckerI respect F/R decision. I am not exactly happy with it, but I know that he had his reasons. The FP was an amazing place, really helped me with aq hard time in my life, but it was still his forum. His playground, we were all guests. We should be thanking him for having such a long and wonderful run there. :) | #10 Oct 19th 2008, 7:54am

piewacketI stopped by here because I wanted to check in on several of the youngsters. I knew that this would be difficult for some of you and I’m glad to see you all finding a way to stay in contact with each other. I don’t want to cause any drama but I have to comment on the discussion about F/R and the FP. A long time ago, the FP stopped being "that doucebag flamer's forum." It wasn't just about F/R anymore. I'm afraid that I have to disagree. It always was and always will be F/R’s forum. People sometimes had a tendency to forget that little fact. He was the one who created it, fostered it and, most importantly, maintained it. To run a successful forum requires a lot of effort. And by successful, I don’t mean a large post count. I mean a place where people feel safe and secure; the type of place where people form real and lasting relationships; a community of support and friendship. There are plenty of fora with large post counts but take a peek inside and what do you find? Randomness? In-fighting? Back stabbing? Drama-24/7? The FP was never that way because F/R was an active and responsible administrator. He made a haven where friendships and fun flourished. I wish the best for this new forum. Jeannie has graciously created this space and taken on a monumental task. I hope that everyone works with her to make it more than just a place to post. // end lecture ;) | #15 Oct 19th 2008, 9:03am

Hell's Ice Heaven's FireSTPMO: All the hardcore, freaky Edward Cullen/Jacob Black fangirls. I love the Twilight series, but you people piss me off. The Twilight Series has a lot more to offer then those two and you girls are not helping our reputation. The people who like Twilight are NOT just pubescent girls. A lot of us are parents, Older teens, College students, hell, not even all of us are GIRLS! There are a TON of guys that like the series too!! STPMO: the FP shutting down. I totally respect F/R's decision, but dammit, I liked that forum! Thank the heavens this is here, that was I can still talk to most of the people from the FP. Well...I guess I'm just more sad that it's gone. *Cries* | #18 Oct 19th 2008, 11:55am

I agree with Pie... having made a similar decision myself (funnily enough on the same day) with one of my forums (I only have forums off of ffnet), it's a tough call to make but if he feels it's time, it's time. I like this place, to stay in touch with you guys. I was never flamed, by anyone, the reason I visited the FP was just because it seemed like a great community full of interesting and friendly people. Sadly, nothing lasts forever, and I think F/R was right to make that decision. Even if it is a shame to see it gone. | #19 Oct 19th 2008, 12:04pm

Silent MementoThis isn't a rant, and I don't know if it's the right place to say this, but I just have to get it out. My home life is terrible at best, and even though I'm seventeen, I might not be able to move out due to personal reasons. ...I'm sorry for bitching. | #20 Oct 19th 2008, 7:07pm

Isa of the Sorrows...I'm sorry for bitching. Don't be. That's what this thread is here for. :) And your post is a heckuva lot less petty than mine. STPMO: Lazy base makers. Keep in mind, I don't mean the ones that don't shade (shading's our job anyway) or don't bother with bald versions, they're perfectly fine. I mean the ones that can't even be bothered to CLEAN UP THEIR LINEART. Seriously. I don't care how pretty your base is, if I have to recolor the outline with the flood-fill tool because the color eraser won't work, chances are I will not touch your bases with a ten-foot pole. Also, make sure that there aren't any skin-colored dots in any accessories (e.g. headphones, animal ears, etc.) that are on the base. That is just annoying, especially when they're all marginally different shades so the color eraser doesn't do jack. AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT OUTLINING WITH THE PAINTBRUSH TOOL. *seethes* | #21 Oct 19th 2008, 8:05pm

Trousers in Small JarsSTPMO: The girl that my favorite actor is dating is basically flaunting their relationship on her facebook. Seriously, she stole him from someone else and she has a million pictures of them kissing and hugging. At least, she could keep it low key for a little bit. Have some respect for the other girl. I never was a fan of hers before and now I find her incredibly annoying and hope she does not do anything to make him an asshole. | #22 Oct 19th 2008, 8:44pm

Kiseki LinSTPMO: The fact that I'm still sick. Found out that my sinus is like swollen, I have post-nasal drip, which is making my throat hurt like hell!!! I still can't eat without making my throat sore. But thank goodness for Halls... | #23 Oct 19th 2008, 11:26pm

Tersa InsaneWithSanitySTPMO: Math homework. Rawr! And the inability of my teacher to teach anything relevant in the class. Do I care about the different type of mullets? NO! And yes, the mullet rants and stories about his cats are better than math, but he then springs pop quizzes on us WHEN HE HASN'T EVEN TAUGHT US HOW TO DO IT!!! AND he assigns homework on the problems he hasn't showed us how to do, using a formula WE DON'TKNOW! RAWRRR! is it too much to ask the teacher teaches the actual class opposed to...what ever he is doing?!?!?!!? | #24 Oct 20th 2008, 12:21am

Yasona BlackMy two friends ignored me for the fun of it. Goodness, a lot of friends who suck seem to be 'friends' with the people in the FPA. STPMO: I don't feel right. I'm exhausted. I called into work after getting only five hours of sleep and now I can't even take a nap. I have to drive an hour back and forth to school and it just sounds tiring. I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to stay awake in the class (or my car! :O) | #26 Oct 20th 2008, 8:45am

Oracle FiveSTPMO: I haven't made it to my Monday class in several weeks. Which sucks, because that's my Chem class and it's the class I'm doing well in. My Bio class is fun, but I'm NOT DOING WELL ON THE EXAMS. Also, my Chem grade's already in trouble since I missed some Discovery sessions. Miss more than five of those and you auto-fail Chem. Miss two (that's how many I've missed) and you automatically get 6 percent taken off your final Chem grade. I made this damn schedule back when I was working under the assumption that I'd be living on campus and therefore wouldn't have to worry about such early classes... MSTPMO: I need to be losing weight. Seriously. And yet the only activity not involving some sort of electronic device that I've been able to muster any interest in is...food. Gorging myself silly on delicious meat and fish, specifically. And I have to settle for carbo-loading with lots of pasta because the piles of meat and fish I desire are not accessible to me. ...I want to eat chunks of FISH, dammit! And raw oysters and boiled lobsters and sweet, sweet chicken meat...but I'm pretty sure I've gained weight already... -_- | #27 Oct 20th 2008, 9:09am

EclipseIllusionSTPMO: I went to this other fan fiction site(I was just trying to see if there were others just as good as this one; meh, maybe). Anyway the first time I went these red blocks appeared talking in the first person about a "bandwidth" theif, and that I was caught in the act. I went to my browser, and pressed enter(I clicked it so, it highlighted) then it was normal. I just hope it wasn't soem type of spam/virus crap. Secondly, I hope it wasn't for real. Anarane FaelivrinSTPMO: Urgh. I have Science tomorrow, and my teacher is just about the crappiest Science teacher in my whole entire school. I can't understand a word he says sometimes, so I struggle through the lesson, trying to understand what is going on. MSTPMO: My so called 'friends' (once again) are not helping. They mock me, and are currently going on about how sarcastic I am, and how I am too serious. One of them is my best friend from Primary school, who used to be great, but since she met up with our new friend she acts exactly like her- mocking and just commenting on my faults. When she isn't around the new person, it's back to normal again and we get along fine. | #31 Oct 21st 2008, 11:05am . Edited Oct 21st 2008, 11:11am

Yasona Black@Anarane: I just found something in my social psychology textbook that might help. "Perhaps it is no surprise that friends influence what each other thinks. What is more surprising is that such social tuning, the process whereby people adopt another person's attitudes, can happen even when we meet someone for the first time, if we get along with that person. And social tuning can happen unconsciously." (Aron, Wilson, and Akert's Social Psychology) So your friend might not even realize what she's doing. Maybe if you talk to her? (I know, it's my solution for everything. Gods! I'm such a girl!) STPMO: The fact that I procrastinate when I know I get stressed easily. *bashes head against wall* | #32 Oct 21st 2008, 1:13pm

Trousers in Small JarsSTPMO: All of these new categories, some of them are ridiculous. DO we really need a separate movie and book category for Phantom of the Opera? Why are Batman Begins and Dark Knight seperate, they are sequels, they should be in the same category. | #34 Oct 21st 2008, 1:52pm

thelavendercatSTPMO: This girl who stands behind be in choir. Not only is she supremely annoying and act like nothing is ever her fault, but her voice really makes me wonder how she got into this level of choir to begin with. I mean, the quality of her voice is okay and she's a good sight reader, but listening to her sing the words is horrible. My choir teacher always tells us to have open vowels, so we don't sound like country singers, but she can't seem to grasp this concept. Everytime I hear her sing a vowel, I cringe. And, of course, she's really loud, so I alway hear her no matter how hard I try to tune her out. I just want to turn around, smack her, and say "You are not a hillbilly. Do not sing like one!" MSTPMO: Everyone is getting on my nerves today. My choir won't shut up, all of my friends who are obsessed with Twilight won't shut up about it (they are nitpicking the movie after seeing the fucking trailer), and my brother is being a teenager boy and playing Rockband really loudly! God why can't everyone just shut up for one day!? EMSTPMO: My dog keeps picking up his bowl with his teeth and dumping his wet food everywhere! | #35 Oct 21st 2008, 3:10pm

Yasona BlackSTPMO: Stomach pains. I know it's anxiety as I was hungry and fine earlier today, but couldn't anxiety be a clearer state? Like, you know when you're angry, you know so, and when you're happy, you know that too?! Why can't anxiety just hold up a flag or something and be like 'Here I am, I'm anxiety making you anxious? But no, we have to be insidious, creeping through your body, and you don't even realize it until you're stomach's in knots, and your breathing's fucked up, and your head's fuzzy. But on the bright side, it can only get so bad. Well, fuck, the worse it gets is pretty bad. I don't like feeling sick just because I'm stressed or nervous. The really annoying part is that my worst fear is being sick and when I get panicky I feel sick to my stomach. Grrr... | #38 Oct 21st 2008, 7:26pm

dartigenSTPMO: Ignorant people. Specifically, my CL teacher. First, when we were discussing other religions, she tried to tell me that Wicca and Satanism are not actual religions. *cough* A legal religion is defined as having a) over 1000 members (I think?) and b) having some sort of holy book, guide, or otherwise. Satanism has a holy book. I can't remember what it's called, but it was written by Antony (Anthony? Can't remember) LeVey (or was is LaVey?) if you're a LeVeyan Satanist. LeVeyanism is the only legal flavor of Satanism at the moment, but others will probably crop up. Yes, Wicca doesn't have a defining book, and practices differ from person to person (AFAIK - I have only two Wiccan friends, and their rituals, etc. are radically different - one has incorporated a lot of Buddhist stuff, as her dad is a Buddhist, and the other adopts most of her rituals from historical stuff) but it is an organised religion - and last Census I don't think they were shoved under the heading of 'Other'. Today, she tried to tell us that it isn't true that 1 in 10 HIV tests that return positive are incorrect. It's actually scarily true, and not everyone demands a retest - they're too busy freaking out to think that it might be wrong. She also tried to tell us that our channels of information are not selective and not government- or corporation-controlled. Um, who do you think pays the people on the telly? Yeah. And our government wouldn't like us to know about what it really does when we're not looking. 60 Minutes and Today Tonight are merely sensationalist - what little information they give is largely useless. The only good story they're run in four years was on parkour, and that wasn't all that informative. I have my reasons for getting my news from several sites (IFEX, Huffington Post, Yahoo News, YouTube news channels and TVU). I like to see more than just one channel/company/country's take on a situation. I hate CL, I really do. MSTPMO: It's almost summer and it's still freezing every morning. Yasona BlackSpecifically, my CL teacher. Does CL stand for Christian Literature? I think I've asked this before...But yeah, I was pissed off just reading your post. Ignorant bastards. STPMO: One day, being the good student, I ignored the strange signs outside the campus buildings. What did it turn out to be? A protest. I fucking missed a protest! And not any protest, some "Christian" speakers came to our school to tell us that homosexuals hate God and should stop sinning and start liking the opposite sex. They said there were ex-homosexuals that had joined their cause. Here's snippets from my school's paper: While holding a banner that proclaimed, "Thousands of ex-homosexuals have experienced the life-changing love of Jesus Christ," *edited* told the audience that marriage is between one man and one woman. "God defines it, we are not higher than God," said *edited* while explaining that if one goes against traditional marriage one is acting in hate against God. "So why do you hate God?" "If God can save me, he can save you," *edited* said. "You think you were born homosexual, Jesus said you need to be born again." The protest from students was peaceful and there was no physical violence, short of one incident when a plastic Snapple bottle was thrown at Deferio from the crowd. "I'm sick of the intolerance," *edited* said to students after the bottle hit his sign. "This is intolerance," *edited*, a junior at *edited*, screamed back. I fucking hate bastards. I wish I could've thrown the damn bottle at him. | #40 Oct 22nd 2008, 5:38am

Bethany C. MacKenzieAnd not any protest, some "Christian" speakers came to our school to tell us that homosexuals hate God and should stop sinning and start liking the opposite sex. What's WRONG with these people? They make homosexual-tolerant Christians AND homosexual Christians look bad, fucking intolerant bastards. Gah. My uncle's a very religious minister and even he doesn't go around preaching that homosexuality = evil. It's annoying and stupid how people keep referring back to Leviticus 18:22 to show that 'homosexuality is wrong1!1!!!' God did NOT write the Bible; He just dictated it to people and who the hell knows what other biased views they put inside along with the holy words? -_- STPMO: My best friend. Is. A. Jerk. Seriously. We split classes two months ago because here we actually graduate in freshman year cause high school is only sophomore-senior years. He's been totally ignoring me for the past two months because he thinks I'm stalking him or something, which I am definitely not with all the homework and shit we've been going through. This is so retarded. How the hell do you go through three years of pain and happiness together and then within two months change your mind and suddenly OMGz itz so not cool to b seen w/ her!!1!!11 shez a stalker11!11!! What the fuck. This really shows how separation can really determine whether your friends are keepers or not; I've been separated from my other best friend for two years and we're still best friends now. And I've only been in class with the guy I have a crush on for two weeks and we're already talking more than I'm talking to my so-called bestie. I feel like slapping myself. Where did all those years go? To some ass who doesn't even appreciate my wanting to be nice. I want my time back. | #41 Oct 22nd 2008, 6:31am . Edited Oct 22nd 2008, 6:37am

dartigenCL is Christian Life. We have to research issues and write an essay on them (specifically, AIDS, gambling or cloning - fun) but we have to include a *Christian* viewpoint. Which is hard. I'm not Christian. I have no idea what I am, but it sure doesn't fit Christianity. And that protest is stupid. Heck, we're a Christian school (Lutheran technically) and we probably have the largest population of gay, lesbian and bisexual students in the area. I know at least 12 people who are either gay or bisexual just from school, and (weirdly enough) they are the nicest people ever. My best friend is bi and she is incredibly nice. (generous too - take that, straight Christians!) I know a lot of gay and bi people, and they are a lot nicer than most of my straight friends. Plus, it's nice to be able to talk to a guy about the shit you're having with an ex and not feel awkward or gossipy. And they still know how guy's minds work.
