DracoriI posted this quote on my profile: "We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing, all-powerful God, who creates faulty humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes." - Gene Roddenberry |
 |
DracoriThis is a quote I have in my DA signature: "God should be executed for crimes against humanity." - Bryan Emmanuel. |

DracoriHere's another good one: "I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires." - Susan B. Anthony This one speaks the truth because some Christians will say that God has spoken to them and tells them what is right and what is wrong. And if you notice, every story is different. Everything God supposedly says to them always coincides with what that particular person believes. |

Jimmy Vietnam"We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing, all-powerful God, who creates faulty humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes." - Gene Roddenberry He didn't create faulty humans. He gave us choice. The choice to love and follow Him, or the choice to disobey. He didn't want to force His love on us, so he gave us the oppritunity to choose whether or not to obey Him. We chose not, even after the warnings He gave us. They are our own mistakes. And this quote completely ignores the fact that God lovingly fixed this problem by dying for us. |

DracoriActually, he did create faulty humans, otherwise we'd be perfect. According to the theology, we are born sinners. We are born with a sinful nature. Yes, I hear the term 'free will' and I personally think it's a joke. The basic philosophy is "Do as I say, or else." This instills fear into our minds, and therefore forces us to follow God's word out of fear of what will happen if we don't. This is control by fear, and there's nothing free about it. And yes, I may be an atheist, but I didn't actually choose what to believe. It's not like choosing whether or not to have steak for dinner. It took me years, years of observing the world, and seeing all the evidence to the contrary. Even if I wanted to believe in God, I cannot, no more than I can make myself believe cigarettes are healthy. Another problem with the idea of free will is how God has a plan for all of us. Everything we do is apparently God's plan. He had a plan written out for all of us before he even created us, which means that me being an atheist is God's plan. And if this is all preordained, then we do NOT have free will, because everything we do, God apparently planned for us. I've heard the story a million times: God sacrificed himself to himself to forgive me of a crime I did not commit but I'm somehow still responsible for. Yes, I know the story. For some reason every Christian feels they need to repeat this story as though we haven't already heard it a million times, but we have. It doesn't change anything. | #6 Mar 12th, 5:29pm . DracoriIf all the Christians who have called other Christians “not really a Christian” were to vanish, there’d be no Christians left. - Anonymous This quote seriously made me laugh XD |
