Welcome to the Ficship Competitions! The layout and rules apply to both competitions.

Layout:

1)Submit your nominations via PM to any of the forum’s moderators. They will be your judges!

2)Stories nominated will be placed into either the Circle of Ficship: Nominations or the Knighthood of Ficship: Nominations thread. These lists will be updated frequently, and the authors of nominated stories will be notified of their story’s involvement.

3)The nominations will continue to be received until the deadline has passed, or until the nominations of a section reaches 100 stories.

4)Once the nomination deadline has passed, a poll will be created for both competitions. You may vote for five story in each poll.

5)The five stories that have the greatest numbers of votes will be announced once the polls have closed.

6)The judges will read the five top stories of each poll and will decide together on the winners.

7)The winners will be announced.

Rules:

1)You may nominate as many of your favorite stories as you wish.

2)You will be able to vote for five stories in the Tortall ‘verse and five stories in the Emelan ‘verse.

3)The nominations will be submitted through a PM to one of the forum moderators (found below). Please include the story and the author’s name when submitting.

4)Stories that are written by the judges will be available for nomination, although it should be noted that if they reach the final stages of the competition the author will not take part in the judging of their story.

5)Once the voting has begun, nominations will no longer be accepted.

6)You may not nominate your own story.

7)If a story submitted is a cross-over between the Tortall and Emelan ‘verses, the judges will decide which one poll it will be included in.

8)Nominated stories must be complete.

9)No drabbles may be nominated. A drabble is a piece under or at 100 words, or a series of short pieces that are under 100 words. Any one-shot series that has entries between 100-1000 words will be examined by the moderators before it is submitted to the competition in order to make sure it can be fairly judged.

10) No story which made it into the Top Five of its competition may be entered into another session. Please visit the Archives for the lists (links, and summaries) of the stories which were voted into the Top Five.

3. The owner/moderator(s) of this forum is solely responsible for content posted within this area.
