11/13/08 The forum has been created, the judges recruited, the rules decided on, the duels fought and the competition has begun! 12/26/08 Happy holidays everyone! I hope you have all had a good few weeks. I want to thank everyone who has been visiting the forum and nominating their favorite fics. We have quite a selection nominated for both the Circle and the Knighthood Competitions, and the judges and I are getting excited about reading the top fives!

There is not yet a firm deadline for nominations, but we are going to set it in the first week or two of January, to give everyone time after the holidays to send in their favorites. Don't forget that you can nominate as many fics as you like and make sure you subscribe to this topic so you are notified when the polls are open.

12/30/08 After some discussion we have decided to change the rule regarding the voting portion of the competitions. The maximum number of stories you will be able to vote for will be moved up from one to five stories. We hope that this will encourage people to visit more nominated stories from both the Circle and the Knighthood Nominations, as well as prevent huge ties in the results.

The nomination deadline will be announced within the next few weeks.

01/04/09 Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a good holiday. Over the break the lovely judges have decided on a deadline for the nomination portion of the Ficship Competitions! We will stop accepting nominations on the 10th of January. Hopefully the polls will go without a hitch and they will be up the same day. Remember, you will be able to vote for up to 5 stories in each competition. If you don't have five in mind, visit the Circle and the Knighthood Nomination pages and read up! There's lots of amazing stories waiting to be discovered.

If you still have stories to nominate, be sure to get them in before the 10th!

01/09/09 The Ficship Competitions' Nomination stage will close tomorrow! Polls will be created where you will be able to vote for your top five choices. Make sure you have nominated all of your Tamora Pierce favorites, and check out the Nominations pages to see what fics you're voting for! You do not have to vote for five stories if you do not want to, of course, but it is a chance to read some of the other fics that made peoples' list of favorites.

01/11/09 The nominations have officially closed. Thanks to everyone who participated! It was very successful and all of us enjoyed getting your PMs! All of the nominated stories are posted in the Circle and the Knighthood nomination topics, with their links so you can visit them. The polls are now open to voters, so make sure you visit those and vote for up to your top 5 favorite stories!

02/09/09 This month went by really quickly! The polls did very well and we're all honoured that so many people participated in the competition. Thanks to everyone who participated or visited us in the forum chat. Tomorrow the polls will close and the judging will begin. We will have a special section for the top 'five' of each of the polls to be viewed. If you haven't voted yet- make sure you get to the polls as soon as possible and represent your favorites.

02/11/09 The polls are closed on the first Ficship Competitions. Thanks to everyone who participated- you can check out the Top Five section for both the Circle Competition and the Knighthood Competition to see which stories have entered the judging portion of the competitions, or click on the now closed polls to check out the full results. Remember to keep this topic on your subscrition list so you're notified when the judging has been completed!

03/13/09 The results are coming back from the judges and soon we will be able to post the winners of the first Ficship Competitions! The results should all be in within a few weeks! In the meantime, the Archives have been setup, and there is always someone ready to chat in the chatroom!

04/04/09 The results are in! We are finally able to announce the winners of the first ever Ficship Competitions. The winners will be listed in the Circle of Ficship: Winners and the Knighthood of Ficship: Winners forum threads, as well as in the Archives section.

This marks the end of the Winter 2008/2009 Ficship Competitions, and I want to congratulate all of the authors who had a story nominated, as well as thank everyone who participated. I also wanted to thank all of the judges, who did such a good job!

The Ficship Competition will not end here- hopefully it will be up and running for its Summer 2009 session beginning June 1st! Subscribe to this forum thread so you get updates when the competition is again in the works. And keep collecting your favorite stories, because soon enough there will be another chance to share to the Tamora Pierce fanfiction community your favorite!

05/17/09 The Summer Ficship Competitions will begin on June 1st. We are lucky enough to have almost all of the Winter judges returning, and hopefully will have a couple new names join us in our search for the top stories in the Tamora Pierce fandom. We are very excited about the selection of stories that have been posted in the past few months, and hope you have a couple new favourites! Make sure to visit the Competitions Layout and Rules page for the nomination guidelines, and in the meantime get reading and marking your favourite stories!

06/05/09 The Summer Ficship Competitions 2009 have begun! We have started recieving nominations and the Nomination threads for both competitions will start posting stories very soon.

We would like to say a fond farewell (for now) to Opal Roseblossom, who couldn't return to judging for this session. And we would like to welcome Ally-Marty and abyssgirl to the ranks! The nominations for the Summer 2009 Ficship Competitions are closed! Hopefully you got in all your favourites. If not, check out the nominations pages for summaries and links and find new favs to support.

The polls will be split three ways this time around: Emelan fics in the Circle of Ficship Poll, Tortall one-shots in the Knighthood ONESHOTS poll and Tortall multi-chapter fics in the Knighthood MULTI-CHAPTER poll. Don't forget to vist all three in order to fully support your favourite stories and their author! The polls will be open until July 31st, 2009.

07/25/09 Only six more days of voting until the polls close! Hopefully you have visted all three of our polls and picked your top five choices. We are getting so many voters visiting and submitting their opinions, which is absolutely awesome. All the nominated stories are in the Emelan Nominations or Tortall Nominations threads.

07/31/09 The polls are closed! Over 50 people voted, which is an awesome turnout. Thanks to everyone! The Top Five have been announced and you can check out the Tortall Multichapter and Tortall Oneshot finalists in The Knighthood of Ficship: Top Five thread. You can see the Emelan finalists in The Circle of Ficship: Top Five.

The judges are now reading and ranking the stories which were voted into the finals, and the resluts will be announced before September 1st.

12/01/09 It's our birthday! Welcome to the third session of the Ficship Competitions, which hopefully will be even bigger and better than the past two. Get your nominations in to any of the moderator/judges before January 1st in order to have your favourites represented in the polls! Take this time to check out the nominations pages in order to read the summaries and access the links to all the other stories people have fallen in love with since June.

We are sad to announce that Kate of Carlay, abyssgirl, and LunaSphere will not be rejoining us as judges this session. Hopefully we will have some new judges to announce soon!

Remember to check out the Competitions Layout and Rules to make sure the stories you nominate are allowed in the competition. Have fun, visit us in the chat thread and get nominating!
