I was re-reading Trickster's Choice the other day. Re-reading Sarralyn's Naming ceremony, a thought struck me - why was it being held at Trebond? Neither Daine nor Numair have any ties to Trebond whatsoever. As far as I know, Daine's never even met Coram and Rispah, and if Numair ever has it was only very briefly. I would have expected either Corus, the tower, or the Swoop.

Any thoughts?

Oh wow! You are right! I suppose Daine did seem to be fairly close with Alanna... but for a christening ceremony? That is odd, and a bit too convenient for T.P. Hmm. I smell a story plot.

is it possible that Daine's parents can only cross over at certain points? I mean, on a holiday they should be able to cross anywhere...although they are lesser god (and supposed to be confined to their realm for 100 years or some such nonsense)....

Although it's very possible Daine does know them. Like I said in another topic we really don't see Daine's life except for those small snippets during vital events. It's possible she's been there many times before. Maybe someone there is helping her witht he newborn while she recuperates? Perhaps they were there for some other reason and it came time for the naming ceremony...it's definitely strange...I've never noticed that before. It's not somewhere I would place Daine...

I would imagine probably because of the location. The war was still going, even though it had definitely slowed down since Blayce was killed. Even if Daine wasn't actively taking part in it, can anyone see her sitting around in Corus with a baby while Numair is in the north helping out? Doubtful. TP has mentioned that Trebond was used as a supply point/hospital during the war, so there was definitely stuff going on there. And seeing as everyone in attendance was also involved in the war effort for the most part, it's quite possible it was the most convinient central point for all parties.

Btw, Loten, I've been reading your fics and have caught all the way up and would very much appreciate more ;) I would review, but my computer has huge issues with letting me do so and freezes and cuts my internet off everytime I do. So I'll just have to tell you hear how much I like them!

Yeah..go with Even Later's response...it makes way more sense. I checked the Words of Pierce site but there wasn't anything there...
