Thanks to skyisthelimit and xwingday for helping with the prompt selection!!! Technically it's not supposed to be posted until tomorrow but I'm not sure if I'll have access to a computer tomorrow so I'm posting it now...

The prompt chosen was the 'Crush' prompt. Here are the details...I DID change the 1st requirement only because for a contest it really shouldn't be multi-chaptered.

1.No word limit

2.Daine develops her first crush (we're discounting that whole swooning over Jon thing)

3. Numair tries to give her 'the talk'

4. Daine receives her first kiss but not from her crush

5. Daine must say 'It's not really worth it' at some point.

You may interpret these pre-requisites as you wish but they must all be included. Your piece may be as long or as short as you want it to be as long as it includes all the things listed although you may want to keep it's length reasonable enough to read in one sitting...especially if we are going to try to get people to read all the fics and vote. Anyway...have fun! You have until November 21st!!! You may submit your piece anytime before that by posting it on ff.net and then posting a link to your piece here. You also might want to consider adding an authors note before or after your work explaining that it's for a competition and telling people when the voting period is and maybe ask them to come and read and vote :) Have fin with it! It can be any genre and everything is open to your own interpretation!

There's always one isn't there...

I'm going to have to withdraw :( My 4yr old laptop battery finally bit the dust yesterday, (I'm writing this in the library!) and without being able to turn on my laptop I can't get my fic off the stupid thing to finish it! Guess I'll post it at a later date. But I'll enjoy reading everyone else's!

Other people have expressed concerns about being able to finish on time or dropped out as well....do people want to extend the deadlines by a week or keep it as it is?

I guess it depends on how many people are having trouble! I'm pretty sure my problem won't be fixed in a week due to my laptop being ancient, so my vote doesn't count :-(

Okay, I didn't think I was going to get this done, and I'm not my own fan at this point. Still, it's up and it's my entry. *grin* I completely understand the midterm issue, I had half my finals this week complete with four research projects. How many people are having issues with the time frame?

I do not mind if the deadline is extended.

Hmmm..So far we have two entries and I plan on posting mine later today after I finish it....hopefully more people will post theirs today or tomorrow...? :S We had a lot of contestants so I'm hoping we get a few more entries....

So there haven't been any more entries (mine's coming in a few minutes but still) and I've talked to at least one author who says they would be able to get it in if they had an extra week so I'm going to extend the submission date until next saturday, the 28th, so voting will start on the 29th. If anyone put a note in their fics telling readers the voting date was the 22nd they might want to change it...and obviously those stories that have been submitted...if you guys think you could have done better with more time you're welcome to revise them and re-post...
