Thorn In Your SideTopic: Helping Hands
We're all authors here--uh, mostly? Mainly? So I thought it'd be nice to have a thread for tips, to help each other out over writers' block (or Shikamaru block, as it were--a deadly combination of laziness and writer's block~) Yeah-huh. ... I got nothin'. |
 |
hearmelaughumm... for what it's worth, throwing in a completely self-gratifying scene of violence tends to get the story going REALLY well Nothing starts something up like a neat punch to the jaw, is my philosophy. ... Yeah. Suddenly I think I got nothin' too |

Thorn In Your SideD: Fight scenes are so hard for me to write. T_T Its like AAARGH I'MMA GONNA PAWNCH CHOO!!! and then..."OK, now what?" XD I have this friend Felix though? He's really good at fights. :O |
 |
hearmelaughAh, but you are mistaking violence for coherent fight scenes! When I said violence, I meant something along these lines: "The men behind him laughed some more. That is, until the scowling boy kicked the roaring, spinning chainsaw out of the foreman's hands, sending it flying into them. There were a few terrified screams, but no injuries, Kanda noted sourly." See? Violence that makes the rest of the page write itself, without needing actual talent to write a proper fight scene. It's been a lifesaver very, very many times~ |

Thorn In Your SideHuh. That's actually pretty cool~ But see, it probably wouldn't work for me 'cause I'm absolute crap with prompts. D: |
 |
hearmelaughit's simple, really. Whatever situation's got you stuck, imagine your favourite character hitting the character that's got you stuck. What's fun is when the character that got you stuck in the moment is the character you want to un-stick the situation. Cue random moment of self-hurt that can get incredibly crack-y. Depending on your state of mind. LOL. |

Thorn In Your SideThanks~ I'll try that the next time I need unsticking. XD Unsticking~~~~ |
