Icepik'Ello there. I've been away for a while, the Spyro forums all just died... |
TheBratManYeah, im back. i might try and bring this forum back to its hight and glory in the old days of like 2006 something. Any ideas? | #4 Jun 23rd 2008, 11:08pm

TheBratManI just added a 3 word story game to this forum, hopefully it will attract people to this forum. A 3 word story doesnt involved that much brains. | #5 Jun 23rd 2008, 11:30pm

HotelmotelholidayinnI was hoping to try doing a lot of things to help make this forum more active too, but I couldn't think of much. | #6 Jun 24th 2008, 12:20pm

IcepikRPs rapidly boost a forum's posts, but tend to attract tons of illiterate n00bs... |
TheBratManRemember, you were once a noob. I think if we aim for getting the noobs here, than the post count and stuff would go right up. And with a # word word story, which is pretty much a no brainer thing, anyone can get involved with out having long amount of writing. |
IcepikWell yes, but it tends to attract the particular annoying noob that constantly speaks in chatspeak, has no grammar or interest in other topics, etc. |
TheBratManYeah, but having a topic is a bit overrated. | #10 Jul 06th 2008, 9:41pm

IcepikExactly. | #11 Jul 07th 2008, 9:04pm

TheBratManIve been playing The Eternal Night lately, and I cannot believe what they have done. It is not even a proper Spyro. Where is the collecting of gems, looking for orbs, freeing dragons, and rescuing eggs from those annoying egg thieves. And where are all the classic characters like hunter, agent 9, etc. And what is with this mindless fighting. The levels get boring after 20 or so minutes being in them. I cannot stand the fact that there is no exploring in this game. Where did all the portals go. Why dont they just bring back the all formulla, at least then it works. Why are they trying to make it too serous. | #12 Jul 11th 2008, 12:40am

IcepikWhen Insomniac stopped being involved, it all went downhill from there... Well, SPOILER THINGY Hunter is seen, at the end I think, /SPOILER THINGY and there actually are collectibles, but here's one other thing I don't like about the new series. If you miss those collectibles, you have to play the whole game over just to get to them. Also, I don't like the sudden change to bad animation in the first game, which persisted to the second... I think they're trying to suck all the fun out. :P | #13 Jul 11th 2008, 8:28am

TheBratManIve found out some socking stuff. Enter The Dragonfly should had been released in 2003. But because they wanted to give it a early release date of 2002, they rushed the game. Sony should had not allowed this unfinished game onto the market. I believe that Enter The Dragonfly could have been a good game if, A) The used the homeworld system with the portals and stuf (the system worked in the originals), B) smaller but more level (only reason why there was stuff a long loading time was the fact that the level where too big), and finally, C) they should had brought in a NEW bad guy with more bosses. The dragonfly idea was good, but how the rushed it, left the game a big disapointment. Instead of making all of these so called reboot, which aint even true spyro games, why dont they go back and finish Enter The Dragonfly. Maybe even get Insomniac involved again. | #14 Jul 11th 2008, 2:39pm

IcepikDespite Insomniac's awesomeness, they aren't going to work on any more Spyro games, because they want to put in new stuff for each game, and, well... Needless to say, the original Spyro trilogy is considered best by many. I think the third was stated to be the 14th best Playstation 1 game... | #15 Jul 15th 2008, 7:32pm

TheBratManYeah, ive been playing the second game yesterday, and there is no way that these new games can be up there with the originals. Enter the Dragonfly said on its cover that it was the "hottest Spyro game ever", yet it lacked just about everything to be count a spyro game. There would be no way that Insomniac would release a unfinished game like that. The is no way. Insomniac has done a good job with Ratchet and Clank, yet it doesnt have the same feel as the Spyro games. At least can they make one more Spyro game, so that us the fans can be happy again. | #16 Jul 16th 2008, 2:40am

IcepikI don't think they would even want to be associated with some of the newer Spyro games. There's haven't been many Spyro games that are even playable after Insomniac stopped... I did love the second. Especially since the permanent superflame power-up carries on into new games in the same Memory Card. Though, I must admit, the third is my personal favourite. | #17 Jul 16th 2008, 4:39pm

HotelmotelholidayinnThe permanent superflame carries over to new files in Spyro 2? I don't think that ever happened with me... Do we have different versions of that game?? | #18 Jul 16th 2008, 4:49pm
IcepikWhat version of it do you have? And are you sure it's a file started after the permanent superflame? I just know that when I started a new save file on the same memory card where I had beat the game 100%, I had the permanent superflame and it let me completely beat the first level first try and also let me demolish many five star challenges with ease. | #19 Jul 16th 2008, 8:37pm

TheBratManI dont know if you ever heard of this, but in the first game i found a glitch that allows you to walk on water. I think i was in Mountian homeworld thingy, when the balloon ask you if you want to be taken to where you can find eggs, you decline the offer, keep doing it a few times before going to the super charge. If the super charge stops working, then you can walk on water. It work on my game, but i dont knwo if it works on anybody else. those with the original, could they try that out to see it properly works. thanks | #20 Jul 17th 2008, 5:27am

Icepik... Weird Have any of you done the "swim in air" glitch in Spyro 3? | #21 Jul 17th 2008, 8:41am
TheBratManNot the spyro 3 one, but ive heard that there is another walk on water glitch in the first game, i think it was in one of the levels in the 5th homeworld (man ive havent played that game ages, seeming as ive forgotten the names of the levels and stuff). I think i might be the first person to discover the walk on water cheat in the mountian homeworld, seeming as i cannot find it anywhere. There is a well known glitch in the third game in the Dynamo level in which you can swim everywhere, but I have not done that glitch for ages, so i cannot fully remember what i had to do, to do it. | #22 Jul 17th 2008, 6:23pm

IcepikDream Crafters, was it? I just beat the first Spyro again. Ahh, memories. Ironic that the burglers in the first home took more abuse than Gnasty in the penultimate level. I think the one in Spyro 3 took place in the Dinosaur mines level, or whatever it was. Lots of those Western Dinosaurs. I'm not sure, but I think it involved charging out of the water, getting zapped by Zoey, then the glitch occured. You couldn't flame, but you could charge and swim over the whole level, including that egg that needs very hard gliding to get to. | #23 Jul 18th 2008, 5:46pm
TheBratManYeah, I remember doing that glitch once. It was a lot of fun, until my play station {can not remember the word at moment, but the meaning is "Suddenly stopped"}. Yeah, did you try that glitch out on the first spyro game with the walking on water in Magic crafter? Did it work? | #24 Jul 19th 2008, 2:43am . Edited Jul 19th 2008, 2:43am

IcepikEh, couldn't do it due to certain... circumstances. Do you loathe Gnorc Commandos and Attack Frogs as much as I do? | #25 Jul 19th 2008, 11:32am
TheBratManI cant remember the Gmorc Commandos, but i do remember the attack frogs. But one thing i really hate were the tree ate people, now they were annoying. | #26 Jul 19th 2008, 3:36pm
IcepikI learned to just flame those trees as soon as I saw their mouths open. The Attack Frogs just were not predictable... Not to mention that since charging was pretty much suicide, you had to flame them, when they had an almost equal range to attack you... Gnorc Commandos were in the second level you could access in Gnorc Gnexus. Twilight Harbor, I think it was. Anyway, they had a machine gun attack with great range and speed, not to mention they also shot at you if you were in the air... | #27 Jul 19th 2008, 4:09pm
