Totally agree with you, BC - that's why I love the old SH radio dramas better than most of the movies. Men like Basil Rathbone, Tom Conway, John Gielgud - they were trained in so much better diction than the people of today, even full Brits. I'm not foreseeing a good accent there at all with RDJ.

If only he somehow manages to surprise us all... Oh well, not gonna happen.

i wonder if this movie will be received in england, because apparently some of them get annoyed when americans attempt a british accent. there are also many types of british accents, depending on what region you're from, etc.

I have noticed that a lot of British actors that attempt to do an American accent end up speaking very flatly. Unless they're doing a region specific accent like Southwestern or Boston.

If the new writers target what looks like a pretty decent Watson and his relationship with Holmes, I like the idea (and judging from the script, angst ahoy!). What I'm dreading is all the people who want to fill in "missing scenes" with Holmes and Irene NORTON (because she WAS married, people, and very much in love. She wasn't Adler for but maybe ten minutes that Holmes saw her.). Ick.

there are other places too... it's one of those things where you just have to surf til you find something good.

Someone mentioned before that they were denied membership, and I can't understand why that would happen; I know that when I first joined, I thought that I had been denied, because I wasn't able to log in. Thankfully, I figured out why. When you sign up, you have your sign in name, and that's different than your screen name. So, for instance, if you sign up with your real name, 'Jane Doe' and your screen name is 'LadyGrace' or what-have-you, then when you sign in, you use your "Jane Doe" name....NOT your screen name!

Why does RJD constantly look like he has a wicked hangover?! Somebody tell me that. & it's a bit presumptious to place oneself's production over Granada. & why did they put Rathbone clips in but not Brett? Rachel's dress would have been slightly out of fashion by that time period. The color is too bright for daytime and the bustle wouldn't be so big for 91. Mark looks pretty good though. Better than I feared. Law seems to get it though (I'm hoping). Downey and I have separate definitions of 'ectomorphic'.

It's impossible to them that two men living together could be friends that would sacrifice themselves for one another and yet not have a sexual relationship. Just as it is impossible for them to believe a man would prefer to have brain-work than sex.

He's a flippin' classic fictional character, people. If you want to have your fun by twisting them into something other than what they were, make your own characters. It's absurdly simple. Even badly-written smut sells well. Stop butchering our heroes... D:

That was certainly not something I wanted to see sick in bed. That wasn't something I wanted to see perfectly healthy. I believe that it's a mixture of overblown words, bad interviewing/journalism, and perhaps they are going to subtly hint at a H/W relationship.

Oh man..this is looking worse and worse every time we turn around! I really REALLY REALLY hope they're just flapping their gums and aren't really going to throw any of that trash in the actual movie.
