Kusabi MakabeWell, I wouldn't know who has special endings as of yet, much less same-sex ones (and won't till the data transfer thing works). The only one I know of is IkexSoren, although there may be a few others (KieranxOscar springs to mind). Personally, I'm curious to see if there are double endings without PoR data - for example, if I supported Zihark and Ilyana without PoR data, would they still get an ending? As for Largo, I hada similar rant. Rajion sez that they probably didn't want to make a third tier for bandit/berserkers, which sounds logical to me. I still think there are better characters to drop, and why just drop one? It makes no sense...at least they didn't kill him off, I guess. And about the supports...it feels strange to me that anyone can support with anyone. It makes it hard to dig up the possible character endings, espcially for new people. I mean, I assume that Zihark and Meg have one, but I can't know because they don't have "defined" supports...and stuff. Sorry for the rant, I just really don't get it. | #51 Nov 07th 2007, 7:45pm

KellyCRocker59Yeah, I remember Rajion saying that. And I like rants. Anyway, all the buddy supports are the same; they just switch up the names. Go to the website Serenes Forest (google it) and it will have all that info. (for ANYBODY who wants to know about supports).Yeah, I guess it kind of makes sense that they dropped ONLY Largo. Why not at LEAST have Callil say something about him sometime, or give an explanation as to where he went and what he's doing? It does make for TONS of good fanfic ideas, but I personally want to know where he is. So, are bond supports only possible if you use transfer data? I have it, but still... | #52 Nov 08th 2007, 5:02am

Kusabi MakabeYou mean the transfer data worked for you? Nice! I'm so jealous.Buy hey, at least Largo made a cameo, right? I don't know if she talks about him in game or in supports, but there was that scene with them and their daughter (before chapter 2-2, I think, in the Info menu). And you're right, it would be fun to write a fic about Largo and Amy running the inn. Or all three of them after Calill comes back/before she leaves. And the bond supports...there are a few inherent ones in the game. For example, Brom has a bond with Meg, Geoffrey has a bond with Elincia and Lucia (and Kieran, maybe?), Marcia has a bond with Makalov...and many of the mercenary group have bonds with each other (Rolf has Oscar, Boyd, AND Shinon, I believe, plus a potential Transfer Data person). | #53 Nov 08th 2007, 8:00am

KellyCRocker59Actually no, I don't have the game. When I said that I had 'it', I meant completion data from PoR that I hope to use when I DO get the game (TOMORROW!). Anyway, Largo and Callil have a daughter *gasp*! That sux; I LOVED LargoxMaurim. Oh well. And on another note; is Zelgius playable? I LOVED him in PoR.| #54 Nov 08th 2007, 7:00pm

Kusabi MakabeWhoops. Sorry about that. You'll notice that I tend not to think before I write. :)Yeah, Largo and Calill have a little girl named Amy. She's adopted aparently, but they're raising her as their own. So no LargoxMuarim (or CalillxGeoffrey, which I thought was sorta cute, even if I like ElinciaxGeoffrey more) And about Zelgius...I suppose you could say he's playable for a brief period, in a kinda sorta way. I happen to like him a lot, as well - I was hoping he would pop up in RD. And yes, I know about the thing. I try not to think about it too much (read: ever). And, to bring up our recurring subject...Neffie is OMGPWNAGE. She ripped through about fifteen enemies all by her little self. Just like old times! She's now my highest level unit, at level 4...um...whatever the tier over Halberdier is. She also has an SS in lances, but the weapon levels seem insanely easy to get in this game. So...how bout them newcomers? | #55 Nov 08th 2007, 9:50pm

Kusabi MakabeYeah, I know what you mean. I've put off a few games that I really want because new stuff comes out. I was going to get Xenosaga III like, a year a go, and I keep getting distracted. I wouldn't mind playing DMC4, except I don't have a PS3, or the funds to buy a PS3, or...well, any compotence in the DMC games. I never even beat the first one, as hard as I tried.| #57 Nov 09th 2007, 4:49pm

animefreak249NEPH IS AWESOME AS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was my first promote to 3rd tier, which for her is Sentinel. Then it came to be Mia into a Truesword. Now...I accidentally got Titania to the third tier after Paladin (forgot what they were...). It's still nice (even though I would've liked to get Shinon and Rolf up there as well as Mist).Well, I'm a bit out of date since I've been busy with school (and Radiant Dawn). | #59 Nov 11th 2007, 12:58pm

Kusabi MakabeI saw "Impale" for the first time, and...oh, yes. Neph was the first (and IS the only) character I have who reached 20/20/20.. My Mia was also one of the first to reach tier three - she actually capped DEFENSE. Weird, but pretty great. My "accidental promote" was Geoffrey. I got to the chapter where he and about five other people are storming a castle with about seventy enemies, and...yeah. Oh, and the third tier paladins are Gold Knights (for axe/sword users) and Silver Knights (for Lance/Bow users). I tried to use Mist, but she just refused to gain stats. I figure I'll try again next time with my PoR data. Come to think of it, I had that problem with Ilyana, too. So...who hates crossbows? (Raises hand) | #61 Nov 11th 2007, 3:45pm

Rajion1I guess the names changed during translation. I wish i had it. Then again, Galaxy comes out in two days. This is off topic. Anyways, i did the math for radiance, because i am bored, and elincia is better then mist by an average of one point for each stat. In Dawn, Mist is slightly stronger, with a greater variation. Her max (20/20) stats are greater in health, magic, skill, and resistance, but is lower in every other place. I don't know why i did that. I think to decide who to use as a healer. Oh. What was your mist's stats? I have the average final stats on me. | #62 Nov 11th 2007, 4:00pm . Edited Nov 11th 2007, 4:19pm

Kusabi MakabeWell, I don't remember exactly, but they looked something like this:HP: 33 Str: 20 Mag: 26 Skl: 19 (last time I played it was 9. How did that happen?) Spd: 23 plus or minus 1 Lck: 32 Def: 11 Res: 21 She turned out pretty good, really. Hopefully these stats can give her a bost in RD. I don't know if I just got unlucky with her or what... As for my Elincia...I don't remember what her final stats were. From wat I rememeber, she had a few more HPs, 15 str (i.e. much less), 25 magic cap, lotsa Skill and Speed, lotsa Luck (but less than Mist), a little better Res and about ten more points in Def (not including the Amiti bonus). ...yeah. Elincia turned out statistically better, but I still think Mist is more useful overall, since...well, you have her about four times longer. Plus, you can't use Elincia in Chapter 28. Whose idea was that? While we're on the cubject of Elincia...she's got nice stats in RD, but it's impossible for her to kill anything. Is there a point to "Mercy", or is it just kind of a character gimmick...? It'd be cool if she got a kill's worth of exp, or the enemy turned neutral or something, but...neither of those things happen. I could take it off (I think), but I used it to train my sorely underleveled Edward. | #63 Nov 11th 2007, 5:52pm
animefreak249I don't remember my Mist...I just know that she wasn't as great as Elincia to a degree. Now, however, Mist isn't that bad...she just needs more speed...Mercy...is that Elincia's 3rd tier ability or is that just me? I don't remember. And I have to tell you...I'm really enjoying the challenge of this game (even if it is Easy Mode...it's still a great challenge). | #64 Nov 11th 2007, 8:00pm . Edited Nov 11th 2007, 8:00pm

Kusabi MakabeNo, her 3rd tier is Stun. Mercy is just an abilty she has - I'm not sure if she has it at first, she may only get it once she gets Amiti. And yes, it is much harder. And I'm doing Easy as well. The enemies have gotten so much stronger than they used to be. It's nice. Well, it's nice until Elincia gets OHKO'd by one of those effing crossbows... | #65 Nov 11th 2007, 8:17pm

Rajion1She can't kill anything because of mercy. Give edward Paragon if you need him to grow quickly. How vast do you think it improved, if at all. Here are the average stats in PoR and RD if mist is leveled to the maximum for each class. This is because i have no life and a calculator. I'm doing this in my spare time to find the best team stat wise. If you want, i could post the team with the highest average stats. I'm not doing anything. Hp: 39, str: 17, mag: 26, Skill: 15, Speed: 26, luck: 33, def: 11, Res: 25 RD. Same as follows. Hp: 48, str: 23, mag: 33, skill: 35, speed: 34, luck: 35, def: 20, res: 34 So your PoR Mist was lacking a lot. Her skill does suck, so keep that in mind. The only reason mine went into the double didgets was because she changed class. Her skill growth rate is 25%. In RD, it is 55%. Glad to hear the game is harder. Do you think it is because there are more enemies, it is longer, more thought is needed, or the enemies actualy stratagize and don't just attack whoever is in range? Or is it a combination of the above. If only galaxy wasn't coming out this month. | #66 Nov 11th 2007, 8:25pm

animefreak249More like people were whining about how easy it was. Now they answered. In other unrelated news, have you seen Muarim's description about his character in the Library thing at Base? It's actually really funny. I think NoA got lazy. | #67 Nov 11th 2007, 8:43pm

Kusabi MakabeYeah, that cracked me up, too. I had no idea he was really a litle girl.Radiant Dawn is hard because the enemies actually have good stats and levels. They also have much higher luck, so you aren't critting every other attack. While they still aren't quite as good as the units you get, they are guite solid. I think they also tend to be placed more strategically. The AI is slightly improved, but they still tend to attack whoever they can, or not move at all. Also...did you notice that the enemies can gain weapon levels from fighting you? I actualy saw an enemy swordmaster go from an A to a SS rank (I had Calill beating on him with a Heal...it was quite funny). Also, there are more weapons. Like, A LOT more. There are even sword equivelants of javelins and hand axes. It's nifty. | #68 Nov 11th 2007, 8:49pm

Rajion1I have read some reiews that punished it because they claimed it was too hard for newcomers and that teh story seemed slaped on. Do you think this is a bias, that points are made by that, or that it was never meant for newcomers as this is nearer to the dificulty of teh SNES games?Still, there are a lot more swords. | #69 Nov 11th 2007, 9:03pm

Kusabi MakabeWell, I think it wasn't made for newcomers. A person could definitely start with this game, but I would suggest that they at least play PoR beforehand to understand the plot and to learn the ropes. The story has seemed good to me - 'course, I haven't finished it - and the only problem I have with it is that I really don't like Micaiah, and thus tend not to like the plot stuff concerning her. That's probably more my issue than the game's, though.Besides...games shouldn't be criticized because they're hard. Some games are praised because of their above-average difficulty. | #70 Nov 11th 2007, 9:17pm

animefreak249I'm fine with it. I think the review you're talking about is probably Gamespot or something of that degree. I can't remember the exact one, but I've heard of it. The game is definitely not for someone new to the series. They should at least play past Fire Emblems to get a good feel of what they should expect. Most preferrably PoR since that more or less resembles Radiant Dawn.As for what I think of it so far, I think it's amazing. I also like the battle music this time around (especially Part 3 battle music). The only complaint in the music I have is the Promotion music. It's not our familiar tune anymore!!! Also, I have to say that combat has been superfied to a greater degree (as even watching a double strike counterattack from a Paladin looks extremely painful...as does Impale, foot unit's criticals for the most part, and watching as they are humiliatingly defeated by Mist). | #71 Nov 12th 2007, 5:21am

Rajion1Please do it and tell me your opinion.| #74 Nov 12th 2007, 1:36pm

Kusabi MakabeHmm. Well, first things first. Remember how Forging was fairly expensive in PoR? Well, now it costs a LOT of money. Making a Silver Lance with plus fifteen crit (as opposed to nine in PoR) cost me around 13000 gold out of the 30000 I had. I had to go sell a bunch of stuff so that I could afford another forged weapon (a silver for Edward) and still have some left over for buying stuff. That being said, I'm not sure why I'm able to make multiple weapons in one chapter. I remember SF talking about it, but I don't really get how it works. I had to sell a bunch of weapons just to get the cash to make a second forge, so maybe that gave them the material, too. Or something. Also, if it's based on selling weapons...in one of the chapters in part 3, Aimee gives Soren a Silver card. The theory is that you can buy a bunch of weapons and then sell them right back and not lose any (or much) money, but build up your Forge resources. Don't know if it works, though. Finally, the coins. You get to pick one of five cards, and the card you pick gives you a bonus. When I made the plus fifteen crit Silver Lance for Neffie, I drew a card that added five more crit, for a total of twenty (which was awesome). When I forged the sword later, the card I picked didn't give it any bonuses. I had ten coins when I started, and eight now, so there are plenty - plus I probably missed several. So it's more complicated. The only real issue I have is that I don't quite get what determines when you can forge another weapon - you can do one for "free" (costs money but not materials), and that's nice. The coin thing is more fun than confusing or annoying, I think. Overall, I think I like it. Besides the fact that I now have about zero gold... | #75 Nov 12th 2007, 2:05pm
Rajion1I would have forged a steel lance. It is generaly less expencive.I think you need to sell a certian ammount of stuff, all which have a point value, that allows forge. You probaly have to get enough points to forge a weapon. And as long as you have points, you can forge. Nice to see there are bonus's. | #76 Nov 12th 2007, 2:36pm
animefreak249You need to sell weapons in the game to be able to forge a weapon. However, this only applies to weapons that are buyable in the Armory (so no Killer weaponry or any specialty weapons as far as I know of...). Because of this, you can forge as many times as you want as long as you have the supplies for it. The reason why a +15 crit Silver Lance would be so freakin expensive...think about it...how much was it for +9 crit? I want to assume that the Forging expenses are the same, but I can be wrong now that things have been changed (as I have been in the past). Plus......why Silver weaponry??? Do that to Iron or something like that...they're less expensive.Using the Silver Card to cycle through weapons and such doesn't work. Aimee specifically says that any weapon sold while in possession of the card will not be sent to the Forge. However...you can buy a ton of them, sell the card, then sell those weapons if you want (I think that works...however, this is more for getting stuff in and out of a forge I guess...if it works in the first place). It's more recommended that you sell any weapon that's about to break as it doesn't matter how battered it is as long as there's at least one use left (no uses is unsellable...let alone that you lose it). And...yeah...I stupidly sold stuff just to buy both an extra Florete and the Silencer bow....bad move...took a good 17000 out of my coffers...and I also missed some items in a level...(fricken Senators for escaping with those valuables....). The coins will always be random as to what you can get for bonuses. Some are good, some are bad, a few will give you more coins. I've only forged one thing (and that's a weapon for Micaiah as a test run). It wasn't that bad...except for the part that I forgot about the coin part....I think. | #77 Nov 12th 2007, 2:47pm
Kusabi MakabeThe coin thing happens automatically...are you sure you had one? Maybe you got the vine card - that doesn't give bonuses.I was originally going to fully mod the Silver Lance to make an Ultra Death weapon for Neffie, and decided just to upgrade the Crit when I saw the price. But you're right, that was pretty inefficient...oh well. I probably won't use but two or three times per game, so it works out. Also, the variables of the weapons (Mt, Hit, Crit, Wt) all cost the same per increase...so increasing a sword's might by 1 costs the same as raising it's crit by 3 or it's Hit by 5. Also, you're right about the Silver Card thing - I'd forgotten all about it. As a final note, you can buy Killer weapons at the armory! Granted, it doesn't happen 'til fairly late, but...it's still Killer stuff. A Killer Sword costs the same (or really close to) a Silver Blade. Dunno about the rest, though. So, yeah. I just got a plus two Might card on my third (and probably final) forged weapon. I wonder what other kinds of things there are? CORRECTION: The coin thing isn't automatic. Daniel asks you if you want to use your coin, and you can choose if you want to or not. I don't know why I said that... | #78 Nov 12th 2007, 4:41pm . Edited Nov 12th 2007, 4:45pm

KellyCRocker59This was a little earlier in the forum, but I just had something to add about Radiant Dawn and how it stacks up to the previous games. I love the difficulty, because it really feels difficult without being annoying. There are a few too many high level exp. hogging characters in Pt. 1, and it feels as though you don't get enough lower level characters. Otherwise, the gameplay is beautifully done, as is the plot; the political intrigue in Pt. 2, though not overly complex, was enough to really get me involved. However, I have one complaint that REALLY lowers this game on my ranking of how the FEs stack up to one another, and that is the support system. This was my FAVORITE thing in the past FEs, because it added so much replay onto an already five-year replayable game, as well as deepening the plot immensely. There is only one word that I can use for this new system, and it hurts me to say it, as I don't use it lightly; broken. The system feels like it's only for stat boosts, and really drops the intricacy of the game for me. The convos of the characters during battle were written so that they only make a passable amount of sense, and there is no depth to it.Could Intelligent Systems not have at LEAST deepened the system so that characters had at least two or three people that they could have special bond supports with back at camp? It just makes no sense to me as to why the developers would take away such a distinct and amazing aspect of the frachise. Don't get me wrong; I love RD to death. I just wish that the support system didn't make a puddle look deep. *Sorry for wall of text. What do you guys think about the support system?* | #79 Nov 12th 2007, 7:31pm

Kusabi MakabeYeah, that'smy biggest problem with it, too. You get to glean a little about the minor characters from their Info conversations, but that's really all you see of them. I'd personally like to know more about Aran's thoughts about Daein vs. Begnion, or ifHeather really has an ailing mother/why she hates men so much, or see some actual supports between Meg and Zihark. And SANAKI! She's a pretty deep character...why don't we get to see? I think that was a pretty big deal - the surface reason I replay FEs is to get new supports. But, then again, I just support characters I like and try to make the best of it. Oh, and guess what? One of my characters has capped EVERYTHING. I love BEXP! And in other news, Calill's family is becoming more and more interesting...now I have to beat the game and see what happens! Kusabi MakabeThe Double Bow, I guess. It's seriously overpowered - I think it's actually stronger than Ragnell and Alondite. Rajion1Any fire emblem game, i guess. The double bow is over powered, like luna in the handhelds (i miss luna). Then again, most SS weapons are overpowered. The dawn bregad's weapons in part 3 are a nice change. And thunder sucks. My question is why? I think Staves give you bonuses, but i don't have any proof. | #91 Dec 24th 2007, 7:29am
animefreak249Well, the Double Bow is one hell of a weapon as it can hit from both close and long range. My favorite weapon...from any game...has to be the Mani Katti (I'm odd like that...besides, I like the katana). If it's from PoR/RD, then I wouldn't know. The main issues with Thunder is that it isn't as strong or accurate as Fire or Wind. That's balanced by the fact that it gets critical bonuses (I actually don't think that Thunder is THAT bad). Staves do give you certain bonuses. The heal staves will heal the user at the beginning of the unit's turn (or however that's worded) while equipped. Restore will heal any ailments if it's equipped. Unlock will add to the person's Speed and Defense. I don't know what the others do, unfortunately. | #92 Dec 24th 2007, 6:51pm
Kusabi MakabeNot to mention some staves have crit bonuses. As in VERY SIGNIFICANT crit bonuses. I think the Ashera Staff has one hundred...obviously these are hugely irrelevant, but still cute.Thunder's not BAD, but I still think it's the worst (besides Light, maybe). The accuracy isue isn't a big deal, though, since most mages have decent skill (Ilyana has a growth of 60, and she's the only one who specializes in it). It still seems like it should be stronger than wind, though. By the way...is there a Bolting to be found/bought in RD? I'd love to get it blessed for Deg's chapter. | #93 Dec 24th 2007, 7:41pm

Rajion1I would say the Luna from Blazing sword is my favorite. If it was one of the dark magic spells, i would have a nerdgasm. Or is it geekgasm? I forget.Based on the Blazing sword stats and the forging abilities, Luna could have 5 attack, 115 accuracy, 29 crit, and 7 weight. Keep in mind that it negates resistance. I think i now know why they got rid of it. Anyways, due to some math i claim Luna my favorite at the moment. | #95 Dec 24th 2007, 9:28pm
Kusabi MakabeThat would be a wonderful way to annihilate Ashera. Well, except for the 2nd playthrough only part. Then again, even if it was a dark magic spell, the game probably wouldn't let you forge it. Does it let you forge dark magic at all? Even if it does it's probably just Worm... | #96 Dec 25th 2007, 10:30am

Rajion1Yeah. It is sad, but i doubt the game would allow the forging. But they should, just make it cost 100,000 gold or gove it 5 uses. You know: a garenteed weapon that costs a shitload and should only be used in emergencies, like a killer lance with Neph.| #97 Dec 25th 2007, 12:01pm
