Who is your favorite or least favorite character? - Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Forum

i don't like Astrid, Makalov, Largo, Shinon, or Volke. Astrid is just never good for me, Makalov is just too ugly, Largo is sexist, Shinon is just mean, and Volke makes you pay him for everything he does. -_-

i like Nephenee, Ike, Soren, Mia, Ranulf, Tormod, Stefan, and Tibarn. they're all tanks (yes, even Tormod), and i have something in common with each of them.

everyone else i'm fine with.

I like Oscar, Stefan, Kieran, Soren, Naesala, and there are a lot.

Oscar, I don't really know why, but I love his personality, not to mention he was always one of my best units. Stefan, just because you've gotta love the eccentric guy who pops out of the sand. Kieran, I just love making fun of him, Soren, same reason, and Naesala, just because I like his attitude and he's not a good person, unlike that dolt, Tibarn!

I hate Volke, he makes me pay, and I'm very, VERY stingy with money. Shinon, not only does he suck as a unit, his attitude sucks, too. Zihark, just because he doesn't have strength.

I like Ike,Kieran,Griel,the Black Knight,Boyd,Mordecai, Ranulf, Shinon, and Mist. Ike is pretty cool and has evenly distrubted stats throughout the game( speed and strength),Kieran is cool as well as Griel(and his axe),Ranulf(always keeps his cool), and the big muderous Black Knight. Although Shinon is a jerk for leaving the team so I don't really like him that much... Mordecai is cool in his animal form, and Mist is kinda cute(not perverted). I haven't really played that game that much so far since I just got it so yeah... I'll probably have more favorite characters soon.

My best character is Lethe. I like her a lot but Soren will always be my favorite. He's awesome and can take out any enemy I face. I love that guy!!!

Dragal and Lilikoifish: I really don't think that Largo is sexist. As a feminist myself, I completely understand where you are coming from, but, let's be honest here, does anyone really believe that Mia might be physically stronger than Largo? I strongly doubt it. I actually respect that he was concerned for her safety. His concerns were without grounds, but he didn't know that. He had no previous knowledge suggesting otherwise, so I don't think he was suggesting women in general were the weaker sex.

you have a good argument, but to me, i don't really think that it's good to make a stereo-type of females. i'm pretty sure that Mia can take care of herself and doesn't need Largo to guard her.

I hate both Ike and Shinon.

Why on earth would you hate Ike? He is the most humane lord character in all of Fire Emblem and is the best unit in the game. If you do hate Ike, I would like to see your reasoning to it.

I hate Jill, she comes at a bad time in Chapter 12 and her base stats are pretty bad. I also find it really hard to train her since I've already got my main battlion figured out. I've heard she is much better in the sequal however...

Is it ok if I join in? I really hope so because I want to post something. Well, here goes:

I like Ike (I know, totally orginal), Titania, Soren, Oscar, and Mist. I like Ike because he's determined, and his ego isn't over-inflated. Even though he barely has any manners, I love how he just stands up for what he believes in without hesitation. And he uses a sword. Titania's awesome even though at the end of the game she was really weak. She is kind and cautious and she's a true warrior. Soren put up with so much pain and suffering, I just admired how he still managed to survive, considering how empathetic he is. Plus, he kicks **! Oscar has a great personality and he's a great warrior. Mist is always cheerful, forever optimistic, and even though it's really hard for her to go through with battle after battle, day after day, she still keeps pushing. And she's so grateful to everyone, she's willing to do all kinds of chores for them! Although, she's not exactly valuable in the battlefield. And I'm really similar to her, too...

I don't like Shinon. He's the only one I don't like. He was so bent on fame and glory, he was willing to switch to the enemy's side. Plus, he's racist toward the laguz. I mean, he can't just accept their differences and get on with life! AND he hates Ike. He ditched him and the company just because Ike was going to take command. He caused even more grief for everyone! But stat-wise, he's someone I would want in my team not matter how annoying he is.

But if I had to choose one person, I would have to cheat and make it two: Mist and Soren. They are my ultimate favs.

For favorites characters, I'd say Jill, Haar, Zihark, Stefan, Mia, Marcia, and Soren. I like Jill because she really grows throughout the story, and Haar because he's so relaxed. Zihark...I don't have any particular reason, I just like him. Stefan...requires no explenation, Mia and Marcia are both just nutty (I love Marcia's tendency to use foods instead of cuss words), and Soren...well, for the same reasons that Pinayangel said. ^_^ I also like the BK, although I don't really know why...it's the whole INTRUIGE! thing, I guess.

I do not like Bastian, and Taureneo. Bastian annoys me to no end, Taureneo is constantly saying things that annoy me - "I will kill you with ease and leave your corpse for the rats!" Scary.

My favorite character overall...I guess I'd have to pick Zihark. XD

I like all the branded charachters (Stefan, Soren, the flame lance rider). I can't wait for GoD because i know there will be even more Branded. :)

What's not to like? If i had to be a race, i would be a branded. They live longer then laguz (Stefan is an example of that. His name in japanese has part of one of the three heroes name) and take the versitility of humans. Yeah, i would be hated because of that by both sides, like Milonoes, but i could always say i am a spirit charmer. But then i would have to learn magic. **.

Still, all the charachters are good. Exept for Devidan. I don't like him.

Devdan scares me...I guess to a point. I read his supports and a couple of them involves Devdan pretty much scaring the crap out of people. Mainly Largo and Nephenee.

Being a branded would be interesting. Then again, I know what it's like to be the odd-man-out.

So do i, but since i, er, 'replied' a punch with some bug spray, i tend to be more oblivious. I also like isolation and it is not like i am the only one.

Edit: what if the branded had lesser Laguz abilities. It takes twice as long, but you can increase a stat for a few turns. Then stefan could kick more **.

Muriaum is a friggin' PIMP (I love that guy), pretty much all of the Laguz except for Mordecai and Ulki, because whenever I tried to use them they kept getting killed. Ike is pretty cool, but Kieran is The Man, because he's insane and I love crazy people and he has the same first name as me, so that's kind of neato.

Now for who I don't like... Honestly, I've never cared for Shinon. And what the hell is up with Marcia's brothers? God I dislike those guys.

As you are on the Nepheene lovers site, we will be saying Nepheene is much better then every other charachter mentioned. So i think i will right now, to save every one some time: Nepheene could kill everyone, if not for the fact ashnard's armor could not be penetrated. And while i am at it, Kieran is not the man, Sothe is. If he could change classes, he would become the best charachter because of blossom.

Random thought of the week: What would Paragon and Blossom do if they were on the same person? I want to try that out with Sothe. Because he is Sothe.

Nice to see a new guy around. Normaly we only have 2-3. Now we could have 4 on a good day. Remember: Post often and related to previous post, wait for reply, repeat.

Marcia has one brother, to teh best of my knowlage, and i too will say he sucks. Shinon is o.k., Rolf is just so much better. He is like a Shinon, version 6.

I don't know. So. Who do you think would winin a fight? Nephers or Ikey Ike? I also have to say that i didn't use rolf for a few playthrews. by then, i use the charachters i never use.

Let's think this out logicaly. Who kicks **? Nepher's. Who is the only girl in PoR who's name starts with 'Nephe' and has 3 more 'e's' and one more 'n'? Nepher's. So i will spell her name my way, and you can spell it the correct way. Or we could refet to her as Nephers, or Neph, or Kickass Bitchpance McAusome from now on.

Who...This is Deja vu. Anyways, what would Blossom and Paragon do? I don't remember.

Ah yes, poor Nephenee, I forgot about her. She's pretty awesome too. Sothe? I never used him, so I wouldn't know what he's like in the performance category. I guess he's a good character. I always thought Marcia had two brothers. Huh, silly me.

His stat cap's are 20's because he doesn't change class, but he usualy caps in strength, speed, skill, health, and almost for defence by the time he is level 20.

Always remember Nepher's. Wrath resolve is the best combonation ever made!

No kidding. Neph with Wrath/Resolve is basically death to all. For me, she's always capped strength, Skill, and Speed, so she's able to make great use of the ability. However, with Radiant Dawn, everything's going to change since I have to be more careful.

Yeah, I remember how hyper I got when I found that out. I heard about the old realm of Ilia or something like that. Also, Bern is the capital of Switzerland today. Dunno if it's the same Bern from Roman times, but...

Oh, and I watched the Great Train Robbery, where they refer to Crimean gold. I've never heard of Daein or Begnion, though.

It's really strange of what you can learn these days...

What I mean by being more careful is because of the fact that...well...the way it's looking, Wrath and Resolve have been uber nerfed. Now, it has to be 20% health (I don't mind that part), and that Wrath will activate on a unit's Skill% and Resolve will activate on a unit's Strength% (now I'm mad about those things if that's the case...now I can't have uber Nephenee).

Heck, even Vantage has been nerfed as well as Aether.

They nerfed VANTAGE? How is that even possibe? They gave it an activation chance, didn't they...Aether is supposed to be overpowered. That's the whole point. Why they would take what is supposed to be overpowered and make it normal or even subpar is beyond me.

Eh...I guess we'll find out in November, right?

From what I'm seeing, Vantage was nerfed to be dependent on the unit's speed. Aether has been nerfed so that it's Skill%/2.

Nephenee...from what I'm getting, has nerfed strength growth, but beefed Speed and Skill growth (two of my favorite stats!!!). I really don't care if Defense is nerfed since I'm more concerned with dodging than being able to take hits. If you can dodge more than you take damage, then it's worth it. Take Lyn for example. She doesn't really have much defense, but her uber evasion makes up for it.

As for how Neph will do...it's still unknown...

So they took Vantage and made it from a 100 percent chance to a max of 30. That's just great. (grumble) The Aether thing's bad, but I guess it could have ben worse - at least the attack is still as powerful as it used to be, it's just rarer. Of course, if the BK fight plays out the same way as it did in PoR, that means it will now be practically impossible...

Actually, the maximum without any modifiers is 40 for a Sword Saint (Swormaster Promotion). There are others that can reach to that max like the Saggitary (Sniper Promotion). However, what I'm angry about is the Wrath/Resolve nerf for sure if that's going to hold still. However, whether that's true or not is something that's beyond me.

Ike's Skill max is 40, so Aether's maximum activation without any modifiers is 20% activation.

Um......yeah.....with Luna now...I think it's death to Ike...literally...unless there's something to it... I mean, the normal Luna for the Marshall (Armor 3rd tier), is a 3x Damage plus negates Defense. Black Knight's Luna is 5x damage plus negates defense.......At that point, you have to hope that they still haven't nerfed the ability to dodge Mastery Skills. That or else put something like Nihil on Ike...I guess.

As for some good things, Astra has been beefed. It's still Skill%/2, it's still x5 strikes, but it does have the ability to hit for full damage. Whether it can crit or not is beyond me. Holy Lancers (Halberdier promotion) have a new ability called Defeat, which is a Skill% activation and deals 4x damage.

Now...I just have a question....How does a promote's luck go down by 5?

Rogue LUCK max: 40

Espion LUCK max: 35

Luna is only effected if it is close range. Therefor, Aladonte would not always kill you.

If you are able to increase a stat's max, that is good for sothe.

As for the new astra, I think i will use a mydron for the whole game now.

For the Rogue/Espion thing, i don't know. It's probaly an error.

Where did you get this? I have herd othing about it.

I personally like Giffca (should have been playable at LEAST in Chapter 28), Tibarn (uberness and sexy), Bastian, though he sucks as a unit, Nasir b/c he is so f/n powerful (Boon is a life-saver in CH. 28), Largo (powerful and I can't get over the six-pack!), Geoffrey (so loyal), Ulki (brooding and rugged, plus he slaughters everything), Muarim (so kind and powerful, plus he's sexy), Mordecai (quiet and compassionate), Rhys (cool and I feel sorry for him w/ his sickness), Boyd (speaks his mind!), and Ilyana (She seems so sad and she is so cute). I DESPISE Soren (broading and angst-ridden man-woman, though he kills everything as a Sage), and I don't care for Lethe (UGLY), Shinon (hack off the pony-tail and get more than 10 strength as a level 1 SNIPER!), Marcia (grow some hair and dye it a NORMAL color), Makalov (lazy, ugly idiot), and sometimes, if I'm in a REALLY bad mood, Kieran (He's SO cocky!). Those are my opinions, though, and I don't mean to force them on you.

Gameplay wise, Mist sucks b/c she needs MAGIC when she class-changes if she has such a low strength grow. What is the point of giving her swords if she doesn't have the strength to use them? Sothe, while awesome, needs to be able to class-change to use later in the game. Elincia and Reyson are too hard to keep alive later in the game on hard mode; the difference between the two is that for me, Reyson is worth it; Elincia is not. Anyway, sorry for the wall of text; if you read this, thank you.

I generally don't feel either way about the non-royal laguz. I tend not to like them as units, so I don't use them , so I don't see their supports, so I never learn much about them...that being said, I do like Muarim quite a bit. I love Tibarn and have finally gotten to where I don't mind Naesala (I really loved him, and then a really hated him, and now I just don't care). Kurthnaga seems like he'll be pretty cool too - he's playable in GoD/RD/FE10, right?

As far as beorc units go, I've come to like Tormod and Ilyana more, and Taureneo and Lucia less. I used to really hate Tanith, but I've come to like her alright. Otherwise there haven't been any dramatic changes in my favorites - I still adore Zihark, Astrid, and Nefife. As if I haven't made that perfectly clear already...

On a more random note...why did they kick out Largo? I mean, it seems weird to have everyone back except one person...

Same. I still have a big liking to Nephenee (isn't it obvious...we just found that Neph with Wrath/Resolve can beat Ike with Aether and (to a degree) Miracle. Plus, Neph's hot). I also have a big liking to Ike still as well as a unit.

Well, I won't rant on. And I feel for you about Largo...even though I never used him.
