I like Zelgius, Ike, Soren, Tormod, Rhys, Shinon, Pelleas and Kurthnaga, right off the top of my head. I like Zelgius because he's not really evil, and will not kill an enemy if he has to. Unless he's trying to defeat Gawain or his son in battle. I like Ike 'cuz he's a likable character, Soren because he has such a heartwrenching story and his personality is very fun to write. Tormod is funny, Rhys is very kind and I like his character, Shinon is a fun character to read and to write, Pelleas has a tragic story and does not have near enough fans, Kurthnaga is sort of like Rhys, and very peaceful and... more than anyone... HE FIGHTS FOR HIS FRIENDS. In fact, I like almost everyone, and reset if anyone dies.

I did kill Fiona in my game, though, just because she was awful and was taking up space. I am an official member of the Makalov Slayers Club, even though I don't hate him. The one person I truly hate, though, is Micaiah. She'd be tolerable if she was at least a respectable unit in battle, but NO, she just stands there with her wimpy stats and does NOTHING, and yet she is an integral part of the story and is perfect in every other way: She can foresee events! She can speak with the Goddess Yune! She's a Heron Branded! She's selfless and good! Blargh. I also dislike most of the Dawn Brigade just because they all stink.

I love Soren if you can't tell by reading my stories (which you may not be able to.) He's just so delicate like a flower when he needs to be, but in battle he can kick major butt with his E-RANK WIND MAGIC LOL! And nothing is better than Soren in battle alongside his supporting BF who, when they get together, can dodge almost any attack thrown at them. Plus, Ike is hot, if not exactly my type. Really I just love all the Greil Mercenaries. I would claim to dislike Shinon but really I think he's funny. And sometimes feel sorry for him too. They just seem like such an ensemble cast.

And to the person who said Micaiah was perfect in every way other than battle--she isn't. She is a TERRIBLE judge of character, unlike Soren, who is amazing (remember when he was suspicious of Zelgius in POR? And Nasir? And NOT Volke?) Micaiah thinks Ike is a bad man and the Black Knight is NICE! And she doesn't believe Sothe (aka the only sane member of the Dawn Brigade except maybe Leonardo) when he tells her she's wrong. His major fallacy is his taste in women. But I endorse it anyway, because that's the way Intelligent Systems wanted it.

I have mixed feelings about Stefan, honestly. He's a great unit and definitely worth having, and if you support him with Mordecai no big deal. But if you support him with Soren, that just hits a little too close to home. I've had weird strangers come talk to me like they were my friends and being timid did not know how to reply. Granted, they were all far more diplomatic than Stefan, so I guess he has that going for him.

I also love Geoffrey. I love how he perfectly parallels "She's So High" by Tal Bachman, and I love how both he and Soren have "wrong answer" supports in the first game. (See my avatar)

He wasn't really suspicious of Zelgius. He was suspicious of Begnion's involvement in the war. Big difference. Also, I.S. didn't really pay too much attention to the story as there are a bunch of holes in characters, story, and some events were quite anti-climatic. In short, they didn't develop anything storywise and went something like 50% gameplay, 40% visuals, and 10% story in Radiant Dawn (which the plot and character dev are Fire Emblem's strongpoint, and they blew a hole in that).

If that's directed at me, then you missed the point. Micaiah's a mage. Mages, on a general basis, are not very strong defensively. Soren isn't that strong either when you first get him. He can hit hard, but he'll be hit hard as well.

If he's hit at all...

Also, when you are talking about defense... that was not explicitly stated in the person's post. They just said she had "wimpy stats" and "did nothing". That person also didn't mention anything about "when you first get her". Personally, I think that if I missed your point, it's only because you missed THEIR point.

And speaking of missed points... when I said "I endorse it anyway" I was referring only to the Sothe/Micaiah pairing, not to everything that happened in Radiant Dawn. I actually can't say I endorse any part of the story in any way related to the Dawn Brigade. (Pairings compete, but events can be swept under the rug.) Also, if it is 40% visuals, than at least a portion of that is ruining Daisuke Izuka's character designs with new artists. Soren and Astrid look especially wrong.

And yeah, I'm sorry if I give Soren too much credit for his excellent judgment of character by mentioning Zelgius, but the next two examples still stand.

I hate Micaiah and the Dawn Brigade too. :\ And I seriously wanted to punch her through the screen, when all those soldiers started cheering for her after some battle where all I did with her was trying to keep her out of the enemy's reach and didn't even attack once (as usual.) ¬¬

I basically love every character if they have a good level up.

Like for instance, if Micaiah had a prett good level grwth with speed, then YEAH, I would love her, because she tends to be really suckish when it comes to speed.

FE9: love everyone except Shinon, Volke, Tormod, Devdan, Tauroneo, Bastian, Lucia, and Largo.

FE10: love everyone except Aran and Fiona. There are some other people that suck in this game but they were good in Radiance, so I didn't put them on the least fav list.

Man, why does nobody like Bastian? He´s a great, honest guy. He speaks funny, like Sain. And his beard is damn cool. But her really isn´t that strong. (It´s not his fault. If he would appear earlier he would be better.) And I absolutely love Geoffrey. He is just perfect; loyal, strong (at least in my RD he kicks **) and a little bit dorky (In PoR in chapter... 24? I don´t know if it´s the same in the english version but his comment about polishing sterling cutlery was just stupid.) And he´s hot. *drools* I like Oscar and Kieran too, especially if they´re in the same room. Kieran is just nuts. Well, who else... I like Naesala and Leanne. Naesala is a traitor and I like traitors. Like Kratos in Tales. Both are acting all badass but deep down they have a soft heart.

Well, there is one character I really hate... It´s Ike. He´s just stupid. And has no rough edges, no passion. He always seems cold to me. And he steals Elincia from Geoffrey. That´s a bad no-go. I think he looks really scary in RD. I was shocked when I saw him the first time. Tibarn, I don´t like either. Just like Ike, I don´t think he´s that smart. Makalov is horrible, too.

Most other characters, I don´t particular care about.

I think it is because he comes so late in the game. Why use him when you have soren already built up?

I like Geoffrey too, Ike doesn't steal Elincia away. Geoffrey and Elincia have a married ending while Ike and Elincia don't.

I like Ike in PoR, but in RD he just seems like a piece of muscle that is there only to fight. Doesn't come off as the passionate person in PoR who cares about saving the world. Tibarn is boring. I don't like his character, but he is too good a fighter not to use. Naesala is my favorite King Laguz.

I know that he doesn´t really steal her. But he often "steals" her in fics and that´s what I meant exactly. I don´t want them to be separated. T^T (I was so glad when I heard that Elincia and Ike couldn´t marry. Yayers!)

And Soren may be stronger but he isn´t as special as Bastian. Okay, he´s a cold, intelligent tactian and a mage but Bastian speaks weird and is a mage. If I had to choose I would take the weird one.

You have a point, but Sain always annoyed me. He was funny at first but I got tired of it, Kent was so much better.

Bastian just seemed to try too hard when wooing Lucia. I do like that he seems to be very knowledgeable of politics.

I like Sain but I could probably not stay in one room with him because I certainly would want to kill him for his mindless talking. And Kent is cool.

But I think Bastian has to try hard to get Lucia. The image I have from Lucia is that she is hard to get and is not that much interested in a relationship (I´m not saying that she is totally opposed to a relationship or that she´s in love Elincia [which is in my opinion stupid and not documented or hinted in any way]). Bastian needs to convince her to open up to him and since she seems to be a bit reluctant and maybe stubborn he has to try hard. And maybe she likes to tantalize him, who knows.

If I compare Bastian and the other royal Crimeans then I would say that Bastian is the one who is a politician to the core. Second place is Renning.

Haha I always thought Lucia had a thing for Elincia. Why else wouldn't she get married? I actually wanted her to end up with Janaff.

But why? Where are the hints? Just because she doesn´t marry? If she has the A-Support with Basitan in RD they don´t marry as well. They have a life-long relationship but they don´t marry. It sounds very unusual for a medieval time to be together and not to marry (That´s why it´s strange) but there you can see that´s obviously her conviction. Maybe she thinks marriage is overrated or unnecessary, who knows. But I think it´s over-interpreted to say that she doesn´t marry because she´s gay. Then it would be stupid to be in relationship with a guy. It would only hurt her and Bastian. (And since nobody says anything against her life-long, marriage-free relationship, why should anyone want her to force her into a liaison? They just could leave her alone.) And in PoR she doesn´t seem that dismissive to his wooing (I mean in their support).

P.S.: I don´t like her with Janaff because first there are too less Bastian/Lucia fics out there and second because Bastian always gets hurt in those Janaff/Lucia fics and he deserves love. More Love for Bastian!!

There are no hints. I don't like Elincia and Lucia together other then a caring sister relationship. Just wonderin why she didn't get married. She is a tough woman so it might be as u said. She is independent and back then the wife was to submit to the husband and she would lose some of her respect as a warrior. Bastian would show her respect and let her be herself so I don't understand why she didn't give in to his poetic flirts.

Then I´m pacified. I would just guess that Lucia doesn´t like the concept of marriage and Bastian might not care about that as long as they are a couple.
