a writer of fics
That sounds like an intresting idea for a fic. I hope somebody tries to write it, if they did I'd read it.

Someone should write a Ford-gets-turned-into-a-kid-on-some-barren-planet-by-some-ancient-machine-thing-and-the-team-finds-him, fic.

Ford still has his weird Wraith super powers though. Whether he remembers who he really is or not though is up to the writer.

that sounds like a nice challenge. i might just have to give it a try.

i have a challenge and i know that it would sound completely crazy too

CHALLENGE: one of the male characters (Sheppard, Ford, Beckett, Zelenka, ((((***Bates***))))) fall in love with a wraith/human hybrid. i dont even know if there is such thing as a wraith/human hybrid and if it is even possible but i guess if the writer thinks he or she can do it......I challenge you.....

OH! I just came up with one! I generally dont read alot of Songfics...but I think someone should write one where Rodney is singing 'feeling good' by Michael Buble`

Cant you totally picture Rodney singing that? In an old suite of some sort? I think it'd be so cute!

Here are a couple of challenges I came up with a while ago. I'm just getting 'round to posting them now, though, cos I'm a procrastinator. lol! Anyway, I haven't tried these yet, but I intend to. Feel free to laugh at me, cos these really are odd & silly challenges.

1. Write a fic in which a character loses the ability to speak (either permanently or temporarily) and how they and their co-workers/friends deal with this situation. It can be humourous or serious. (lol personally I think it'd be funny if it was McKay who was temporarily unable to talk, but character for this challenge is up to the person writing it...) have fun!

2. Pet challenge! hehe this came to me while I was thinking about my new puppy and how she might feel about being my pet. The challenge is to write a fic in which one or more characters are captured by an alien (non human) race that considers humans as animal-like or non-reasoning creatures that would make excellent pets.

Thats a good idea :D Might try it. It'd be right funny if Rodney couldn't talk... myabe not for him...but you know what I mean :D

anywayz, ere are a few challenges of my own...i am putting this in the right place aren't I?! *Looks worried*

challenge 1 : (This goes back into early first season of Atlantis.) Sheppards thought during the events of 38 minutes. (I know it's vague! Sorry!) No Slash!

challenge 2 : Shweiry shep whump story. (Obviously must include shweir and whump :)) No Slash!

challenge 3 : John & Rodney/ John and Elizabeth (Though I bet John and Rodney would be more fun!) turned into kids. Whoo! The bickering would go on forever... No Slash!

Challenge 4 : TIME TRAVEL! Shep-centred if possible, and yet again. no slash!

x-x-x bye x-x-x

I say someone needs to do a House Md. crossover.

...he could come to Atlantis... and... I don't know...

I came up with this while posting something about Shep's 'kirking'.

So this is my challenge:

John 'kirks' around leaving Liz with a broken heart. Happy End? Yes, no, maybe? It's up to you.

Here's a very hard challenge:

A 60-1000 word, 10 line Teyla/Ronon paring, one-shot.

(must use some form of a food fight!)

A Sheppard kidfic! Where are those? I''ve never read one, someone needs to turn Shep into a kid. It could be a serious or a funny fic... and cliché or not, kidfics are always fun to read!

Okey-dokey... Am sure that somembody has already taken you up on this but I'm going to try my hand at a Sheppard time travel story. Don't worry, no slash (isn't so much my thing). Anyway, I'm thinking I'll call it 'A Stitch In Time' (jaw drops at the orginality of that one!!!), but who knows. Anyway, it should appear and I'll mention you... toodles... (sure my plot is nothing like what you imagined, and sadly is embedded in my own AU so if you hate OCs, sorry about that!) Jen.

I'd like to see a Ronon/Kate Heitmeyer ship story. I suck at writing ship and am stuck on my current story (a John kidfic btw!) but I'd love to see one of the really good writers on this site tackle that pairing.

Okay... so am pretty sure that I hardly qualify as one of the "good" authors, lol! (You'll scare everyone off having specified that!) But I thought I'd have a go at it anyway... It's very, very fluffy and is called "Kiss Me Kate"...!!

OK....this sounds like a good idea for a story but i have just one question about it......what branch of the military is ford enlisted in? because as far as i knew, it was the marines and NCIS has to do with the navy. NCIS was a spinoff of JAG and JAG was navy jusge advocate general. just thought id point that out. having said that, it would make an interesting story though.

I'm working on one. But progress is slow! Also, I'm trying not to get too saccharine in it and make it more plot-based so that hopefully it will appeal to readers who aren't necessarily big into the kidfic genre. It's my first Atlantis fic and I'm finding McKay is really hard to write!

Ford is a Marine I think, but this isn't a problem because NCIS does cover Marines too, I'm almost positive. In fact the last episode of NCIS I saw, a repeat where Gibbs works with an Army woman on a joint case, began with the team investigating a dead Marine. Aren't the USMC and the Navy intrinsically connected? Correct me if I'm wrong here, I'm not even an American!

It's too bad Ford wasn't there for the funeral scene - would have been nice to see him in those dress blues. No offence to the other branches but the Marines have the nicest dress uniforms.

Everything I need to know I learn from Television...

Actually, the navy and the marines are two totally different branches of the military. yes they go through the same training and everything just like the army and the reserves but they are different. you say that everything you need to know you learn on television....well, they get things right....to a certain extent. i was told by my JROTC(junior reserve officer training corps) colonel that the show JAG got it all wrong.....i personally dont know because JROTC is a high school class and ive never been in the military.

I do however have two different friends that are in the military.....one is a marine and one is in the navy. my marine friend graduated boot camp and he stayed right on the same base for over a year while my navy friend went to Italy, Japan, Chicage and a ton of other places that i cant remember and he was on a ship the whole time.

They are connected in that they are branches of the US military but they are much different. I really dont watch NCIS very often but they probably do cover all sorts of military stuff weather it be navy, marine, coast guard, national guard, air force.

One thing i do completely agree on you 100% is that ford would look hott in his dress blues. The marine dress blues are the best looking. The air force ones are okay but they look too much like the Army greens. if you want to get a more accurate account of marines.....you should watch "Jar Head". My Marine friend told me that it was the most accurate accound to marines that he has ever seen in a movie. i hope i could be of help.

Crossover Challenge.

Well, there are a few Lord of the Rings and SG1 crossovers so I thought it would be really cool if someone would do one with Atlantis.

And maybe have Elizabeth going with them. Maybe pair her up with Aragorn {I thought them two might be interesting}. Maybe have one of the guys pair up with either or Arwen or Eowyn. Or if you're a Sheyla fan have John and Teyla paired up. Or just pair up whoever you want well except for John/Elizabeth {since I'm not much of a fan of them no offense to ShWeir fans} and no slash either.

I am so not good at coming up with some good details but can go whatever direction you want I would just love to see an Atlantis/LOTR crossover.

Okay, I have some ideas:

1) Three Acended Children: Grey (Janus's son, ((Possible mother is AU Lizzie!))), Atlantis (Female, Who has a massive amount of long curly auburn hair!...and wears a lot of blue...) and Gabriel (Who's tan and has a shock of blonde hair you choose the gender). they get desended for trying to help the expedition, and have to earn their way back. (In reality, it was the only way the ancients could help the humans without breaking the rules...), the kids know what they're doing, but have lost their powers, which slowly return after each feat. All are ATA gene positive (no duh)

2) You and two other friends (that either like Stargate or have heard of it) built a stargate in your basement (just to see if it works) and decide to add blue chevrons instead. BAM! You're sent to the atlantis universe!

3) Team Sheppard (Plus Liz) are accidentally sent to an alternate reality in which everyone is teenagers! (Around 15-19)

Here are some plot bunnies up for adoption...

FYI: The choices in the story are up to you and the specific ones are stated in the parentheses so that your story will (hopefully) be very original.

Rules of the stories are as follows...

1) It can be any genre.

2) It can be as AU as you want (like Zelenka it is the Head of the Science department, etc.); however, stay as canon as possible to the personalities of the characters in the show.

3) You can use OCs and deceased characters when needed as long as they aren't Mary Sues (that means acting like the Stepford wifes with the same personality and behavior, unless that is a part of your psychological horror story...).

4) It can be as long as you want WITHIN REASON and finish it.

5) And if you want your story to have slash or femslash in it make it implied, please...

6) No M rated stories!

- A Tok'ra has been in Atlantis from the start of the expedition by hiding in one of the civilians or in one of the military personal. Only one other person (someone with a medical background) knows about this Tok'ra, this other person has been sworn to secrecy by that Tok'ra about its presence... Must deal with the difficulties a host and a Tok'ra can have in keeping their secret with the situations in Atlantis...

- Jeanne McKay finished college, worked for Area-51 (and for SGC - during the events of the episodes 48 Hours and Redemption Parts 1 & 2) and went to Atlantis. Instead of Rodney McKay who became a famous Canadian pianist/actor, has a child (or if you are feeling very inspired, children) and a wife...

- A vampire (or werewolf) has been living secretly in Atlantis as a civilian scientist since Earth reestablished contact... Must deal with the difficulties a vampire can have in keeping his/her secret and dealing with their hungers with the situations in Atlantis...

- What if Daniel Jackson went with the original expedition to Atlantis...

- What if John Sheppard never joined the Air Force and got a job at the SGC as a mathematician/scientist...

- What if the expedition to Atlantis was led by the military not Dr. Weir...

- What if a wraith and a member of the expedition get stuck alone on a uninhabited planet and end up developing an odd relationship to survive long enough for rescue...

- A person on Atlantis is an ex-addict (to drugs and/or alcohol...or something else). However, they have been sober for quite sometime. But a terrible and horrific event causes them to start their bad habit again... Must deal with the difficulties and troubles an addict can have in trying to keep her/his addiction secret from the others of expedition and the repercussions of their addiction with the situations in Atlantis ...

- Two members of the expedition are siblings (or half-siblings, or adopted siblings). Must deal with the difficulties, troubles and changes a pair of siblings can have in their relationship with the situations in Atlantis...

- What if Atlantis has been (since the begining) sentient and "woke up" when the expedition got there. Must deal with the difficulties people can have in a living city (like being watched constantly by the city, no privacy, etc.) with the situations in Atlantis...

- What if SGA-1 (Sheppard's team) meets their evil counterparts (John is vindictive, Rodney is ruthless, Teyla is immoral, Ronan is indifferent, etc.) that are from a (alternate) mirror universe where good is evil and evil is good; you can get some inspiration from Star Trek: Enterprise's episodes "In the Mirror, Darkly" Part 1 http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/ENT/episode/9440.html and Part 2 http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/ENT/episode/9515.html)...

- The people in Atlantis start randomly swapping bodies for no apparent reason; soon afterwards several hive ships are detected on the long-range scanner, the course taking it very near Atlantis. What they don't know is that the body swapping will have some far-reaching consequences...

- A person on Atlantis is actually a human-form ascended Ancient send to observe the people of the Atlantis. Must deal with the difficulties an ascended-being can have in keeping her/his secret with the situations in Atlantis...

- What if a wormhole opens unexpectedly in the middle of the graveyard-shift in Atlantis and an object (a letter, recorded message, or if you are feeling really inspired something else) with a warning from the future comes flying out (like Stargate: SG-1's episode 2010)...

- What if an entire city of the Ancients was left on Earth under the ice of Antarctica was discovered by SG-1 (during the events of the episode Lost City) and it is believed to be Atlantis...

- What if Dr Weir had to pretend to be an Air Force officer (Lt. Col.) in order to become trading partners/allies with an ultra femminist militaristic culture...

- What if someone (or everyone) in Atlantis had an unusual phobia (like Atychiphobia - fear of failure, Coulrophobia - fear of clowns, Lyssophobia - fear of becoming insane, Noctiphobia - fear of night, Philophobia - fear of falling in love or being in love, Thalassophobia - fear of the sea, Toxiphobia - fear of poison or being accidently poisoned).

http://hometown.aol.com/chickrocker7424/phobias.html

http://www.dorazio.us/jason/monkey/phobias.html

- What if two people from the Atlantis expedition got stuck in a time loop (like in SG-1's Window of Opportunity)...

- One member of the expedition is captured while off-world and through the use of drugs (extremely addictive drugs that the person get psychologically and physiologically dependent on them, or makes it easy to control someone) or an obedience collar or (if you want something outside the box) something else to force someone into submission into being a source of information on Atlantis...

- A person in Atlantis looses a sense (taste, an emotion (like anger), etc.) and gets a new ability (bend sunlight, etc. (please no telekinesis, x-ray vision or any other typical ability like that because they have been over-used, please be creative))...

- What if the NID was the in charge of the SGC...

- What if SGA-1 (Sheppard's team) were turned into rebellious teenagers by a broken and seemly innocent-looking object...

- Aesop's Fables Stargate style...

- One of the Atlantis teams (not SGA-1) meets another Runner and things get a bit out of hand...

- What if Sheppard's and Rodney's minds were linked (meaning that they can read each other's thoughts, pick each others minds for information, etc.) because of the VR machine they used to save themselves from the alien in the episode Doppelganger...

Have fun!

Here's another one and the same rules apply...

- A story inspired by a story (like The Fall of the House of Usher, The Premature Burial, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Angel of the Odd, Hop-Frog, William Wilson, etc.) or a poem (like Annabel Lee, The Haunted Palace, Ulalume, Silence-A Sonnet, Song, The Conqueror Worm, A Dream Within A Dream, etc.) by Edgar Allen Poe...

Here are some more...

- Die Hard movies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Hard) Stargate style...

- The Wizard of Oz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wizard_of_Oz_281939_film29) Stargate style...

I've got one:

Ever since I saw "Be All My Sins R'membered," I've been wondering; why didn't the Atlantis team, instead of blowing the planet to hell(o), take the Asuran City-Ship (and a few ZPMs and Aurora-class warships, too, mayhaps?), escape, and THEN make everything go boom?

So, the thought I had, was to send Daniel with the Oddysey, bring the Anti-Replicator weapons (the O'Neill/Ancient/Asgard ones, ours didn't work that well) with them, beam down, steal the city, make like Sir Robin, and run away (albeit bravely). Daniel lands the city, and finds a HUGE cache of ZPMs, the number I thought of was 64, and gives a dozen to Atlantis. He then takes Pacifica, the city-ship, back to Earth, and this in turn, leads to the IOA and O'Neill revealing the Stargate.

I know, my mind is warped, right?

So if anybody wants to take up the challenge/plot bunny, feel free, just let me know, and perhaps give me at least credit for the idea.

Thanks,

Bill

so I'm going to reply to this challenge! read it if you want...you just made my plot Bunny sigh with relief, she's very tired because I'm so stubborn!!

Airwolf series is moved ahead in time about 20 yrs. It is determined that Hawke (and perhaps the rest of the Airwolf crew?) has the gene - in fact, maybe the Airwolf helicopter reacts to the gene, too?

Yes, the Marines and the Navy are two totally different branches but NCIS is the investigative resource for both the Navy and the Marines. The Marines don't have their own investigative service, they let the Navy do the thinking for them. LOL. Just kidding. I had to joke about that because my Grandpa and Uncle are career Navy and my brother in law is a Marine.

A Stargate Atlantis/Hellboy crossover. Rodney-centric. Rodney had a run in with some sort of beasty while “exiled” in Russia and it just so happens he was saved by Hellboy and they, in some twist of fate, become good friends (maybe he ended up working with the BPRD for a while)...fast forward a couple of years and Rodney has been on Atlantis for a couple of years and is in need of Hellboy’s help once again, whether he is on Atlantis or on Earth is up to you.

I'd really like to see a story thats over 10k words. I would also like for there to be either no ships (because a lot of times that's what people make the focus and they forget the plot) or a pairing that's out of the norm (possibly slash? RodneyHellboy sounds interesting actually O.o or RodneyAbe XD). I would also like for Kavanaugh to possibly make an appearance and have a run-in with HB :D (the jerk would get what's coming to him)

Hi I would really like to see a story in which Rodney has to play "Daddy" for his little teammates,I think that would be funny since he doesn't like children very much. Here my idea: SGA 1 and Carson go offworld and Rodney,John and Carson get separated from the rest of the team. They find some Ancient device which turns John and Carson thanks to there natural 'ATA' gene into small children.

I challenge all SGA fans to join me and together we can have the collective power to save our show. If you are interested and have ideas and information to help us get started, PM me. It is up to all of you, together we can do it. We can bring Stargate: Atlantis BACK! What MGM is doing is wrong and we have to make them see that.

#40 Jan 09th, 10:05pm

You know, this isn't like 7th Heaven, so that isn't going to work. They canceled SGA not because of the ratings, but because they wanted to make an Atlantis movie (at least one for now; if it's successful, apparently they'll do more). They also wanted to give Stargate: Universe a green light, and I think that that show is now going to be premiering in the summer.

So, in other words, no amount of fan protesting is going to bring Atlantis back as a TV show.

Hey, I'm just telling the truth. I am really sad to see my favorite show go, but there is nothing I nor anyone else can do about it. The PTB's have made their decision, and they're sticking to it. You should be happy that they're giving us at least one movie to wrap things up; and if this movie is successful, they'll probably give us more.

It depends, are you really interested in watching this "Stargate: Universe" thing? An MGM boycot might do it if we can spread the word to enough people. I don't know about you but I could abstain from the whole sci-fi channel for a while, it will hurt but I can stay strong for the cause.

So, since you apparenlty haven't heard of SGU before, I guess you don't really visit any Stargate fan sites, huh?

From the info they've given us already, I think SGU could be an interesting show. It's not a sequel to SGA, but it could still be interesting.

Also, people have been protesting for... months, probably, and it hasn't changed the PTB's minds.

#45 Jan 09th, 10:49pm
Kelly of the midnight dawn

Damn. Oh well, you can't blame an optimistic young woman for trying *sigh*. I'm still gonna boycot SGU because the stuff I heard didn't catch my interest. There's just so far I can commit to sci-fi before it disappoints me. And tonight, MGM disappointed me.

I know how you feel. SGU doesn't sound promising. SGA will be kept alive through fanfic.

Here's my challenge:

Write a fic where the Atlantis Expedition had no contact with earth for several years. Then, suddenly, the Atlantis Expedition and the SGC, or whoever you want to represent earth, reestablish contact.

The Expedition has accepted their fate and settled in Atlantis. Earth was lost to them and Atlantis was lost to Earth. Show how being stranded in another galaxy changed people and their relationships. What about those who were left behind on Earth? How will they cope now that their loved ones aren't dead? Are there children in Atlantis? Has it become some kind of colony? Will the Expedition allow Earth or the IOA to control them or are they a separate entity?

It's up to you.

Any rating.

Pairing: Sheppard/Weir

If you include SG-1 characters, then the Old SG-1 team is prefered. It would be great if it's a longer fanfic but not necessary.

I think a lot of people would agree that Michael has got to be one of the most popular "bad guys" out there!! Unfortunately, there are not that many Michael fanfics around (well, I can't find them anyway), so I'm hoping someone will pick up on my challenge.

A young female soldier, unaware of the experiments being undertaken to change Wraiths into humans, finds herself trapped with a seriously injured Michael after an explosion on Atlantis. Cut off from any communication with the rest of the team she must fight to keep Michael alive until they are rescued. Michael must be in human form, with plenty of hurt for Michael and comfort from the sergeant. She falls in love with him only to find out what he really is once they have been rescued.

There are a lot of great writers out there so I really do hope that one of you will take up the challenge, we need more Michael!!!!

Hi there,

I'd like to suggest a couple of story ideas:

1. Atlantis gates to a world where the use of magic is common place-and they discover that, as a result, all their weapons are useless. Worse, the natives have lived as an isolated culture for so long they refuse to do more than be polite with the Atlantis representatives since they regard themselves as a different, better race. The solution Atlantis comes up with? They need a Wizard of their own these people will take seriously.

The problem? The only Wizard they can easily find doesn't really want to travel to another galaxy to sort out someone elses problems. He's got plenty of problems of his own to deal with, thank you very much. Not least things like an ongoing War on Earth between Vampires and Wizards he's part of...

Yes, I would like someone to give a Harry Dresden/SGA Crossover a try. For one thing, I'd love to see just how they'd get him to Atlantis since even the Stargate probably wouldn't work if he stood next to it. Besides that, as anyone who's read the Dresden Files will know, Harry REALLY doesn't like people giving him orders, or rather trying to. Any takers? During Sam's time as CO if possible, I'd like to see a Scientist like her trying to deal with something like magic, which by definition defies scientific explanation

2. Nocturne, the computer game from 1999, where some very unusual more-than-human Agents working for the US Government dealt with anything and everything that went bump in the night in the early 20th century. Anyone remember this one?

If an SGA team gated to a world where there is only sunrise once a year because of the fact that the planet is sheathed in masses of space debris as it orbits its sun, what would they find? In this case, a post-Apocalyptic landscape which appears to explain the debris in the upper atmosphere, it's the result of a Nuclear Winter triggered by an Apocalyptic War. The problem is that the dead bodies they find are all humans-and all of them were running when they died, or they were trying to hide, fight, protect someone else, all of the bodies demonstrating wounds which don't make sense. Shepperd declares that it seems as though the humans on this world lost a War with something or someone else on-planet and nuked their own planet before the end in an attempt to end the threat once and for all, no matter what happened to them.

Then Teyla's Wraith "Sense" goes crazy, only it's not Wraith she's sensing. It's something even the Wraith know to avoid, which she warns even as the night starts to move towards them...

Only Teyla and a badly wounded Ronon get back throught the Gate. But the wounds are identified as bite marks from creatures with Vampiric fangs and some kind of poison is spreading through Ronon's body, which will evidently either kill him or change him into...something else, if he survives. However, when the information is sent back through the Stargate along with a request for urgent extraordinary medical assistance, two things happen: General Landry at the SGC gets a call from a Government Agency so secret that even he's never so much as heard rumours about it stating that, due to special circumstances and criteria being met, they are dealing with this mission, not him and the SGC or Atlantis. Also, before the CO of Atlantis knows what's happening-Woolsley, maybe?-a group of people who are clearly not SGC or affiliated come through the gate carrying gear and weaponry he's never seen before-and nor has anyone else.

The groups leader, an apparently young woman by the name of Svetlana Lupescu-look up the game for her-states that they'll deal with things from here on in concerning the planet in question...

Again, any takers?
