 nyc2dragonTopic: Why so few Dark Dragon stories
I am new here, but I noticed, there are very few stories with the Dark Dragon as the main villian. Why is that? He seems like a great villian. So are the Huntsclan, don't get me wrong. But the Huntsclan are clearly the favorite villian of all of the AmDrag writers. |

Shadow B. PantherI usually do reviews instead of forums, but since no one has yet to answer your question I figured I'd give my opinion. Most of the writers are probably following the main theme of the show. If you noticed, the Huntsclan is the most recurring enemy that Jake has on the show. The majority of the episodes either have him running into them or dealing with Rose, which leads back to the Huntsclan. All other villains (Dark Dragon included) barely been in more than two episodes, Pandarus in two and a half including "The Heist" and Chang third appearance in "Halloween Bash" are the only ones I know of to pass two so far. Rotwood seems more like one of the comic relief and annoyance than an enemy, so I don't really count him. Not to mention that since they appear more often, a lot more is known about the Huntsclan and they are more recognized as causing trouble for Jake. In my opinion, many may feel that the Dark Dragon is Jakes ultimate enemy and are not sure how to write Jake going against him, he is #1 of the "Dirty Baker's Dozen". |

nyc2dragonI see your point, One thing the Dark Dragon hasn't doen yet is conceived a great plot for his desire of ruling the two worlds. So far, his only goal is killing Jake and Lao Shi. |

Shadow B. PantherThat is true and I think that makes him smarter than the Huntsclan, though I'm not sure if the writers planned it that way or not. To me it seems smarter to get rid of the ones that can stop you before they have a chance to, Jake and Lao Shi being the only ones to survive fighting and defeat the Dark Dragon would make them big threats. Before the others that were with Jake are mentioned, Nirk only did a surprise attack while Jake was fighting him and caught him off guard. Trixie and the others helping Jake the second time might have little chance to win without Jake, he made the plan and did most of the fighting against the dragon. The huntsclan has hundreds of hunters and they could easily get Jake with numbers like in "The Academy", but instead only a couple of their best with a couple of their worst tries to deal with him and pull off a greater plan. I always thought that was foolish, but if the odds were always stacked against Jake like that then the hero wouldn't win. |

Shadow B. PantherWell from what I can tell the Dark Dragon is not dead. He's either just hiding, making plans, or recovering from his last battle. Lets not forget that he wasn't seen by anyone not working for him until "Dragon Summit" after Lao Shi defeated him 40 years before, but I heard he will be in the last episode. As for a story with him in it, I'm currently working on a story that will include him and the Huntsclan. Sadly it might not be up until the end of the month or maybe next month. I'm writing the first two chapters along with a couple other stories, but I haven't finished a final draft for it and I want to update a couple of my other stories I already have up before adding a new one to my list. Most likely someone will put one up before me, but hopefully mine will be worth the wait. |
