I adored The Stone Rose! It's sorta unique. JR is a brilliant author- Winner takes all was pretty amazing too. I just like all the twists- and in The Stone Rose you get to see the tenth Doctor acting all sweet- which there's been a lack of in a few of the more recent episodes. But, yeah, definatly a reat book!

stone rose...winner takes all...only human...easily the three best doctor who books you'lle ever read...and each for very different reasons!

i personally loved all three of them...especially stone rose coz it has the 10th doc in...whoo yay! (and please allow me to appologise for my appaling lack of grammer...i'm too tired to even bother tonight) but yes...i am back now...and writting once again...and i hope my latest creation is as worthy a read as these three fine books (yeah, whatever...like i can ever write to their standards!) it is not complete or posted yet...but if you're curious...it will be called Thunder In My Heart...thats all i'm gonna say right now coz i don't wanna spoil it...thats if i ever find the time to finish it and actually start posting it...

I'm going off on one again, aren't I. I do that alot...even in my biography that i've started writting. I'm 17 and my life's been pretty boring so far, but something has inspired me to write a biography / auto biography, whatever they're called...so yeah...wanna read about my boring life then you'll have to wait until i've finished it...which won't take long as there's not alot to write about.

*smacks head* i'm going off into one again, aren't i. well i'm gonna go now before i really become toooo random!

I loved the stone rose - it was the first 10th doctor who book I bought and wasn't sure whether I'd like it because not a big fan of roman type stories - but I loved this - it had enough twists and turns to keep me hooked to the very end

Very well written, i was dubious about buying it, it is David Tennant's doctor, so i ahd to. My favorite parts where "is my bum..."

"yes"(smooth doc, smooth)

And the bit about all fictional things have tried to take over the world, inculding sponge bob square pants! But doesnt that mean the doctor has tried to take over the world (it wounldnt suprise me)?

I didn't especially like the Stone Rose as much as others. It had a very complicated plot line, and the Doctor was put in a completely unnecessary gladiator scene that didn't much forward the plot along. And I enjoyed Feast of the Drowned really, I thought it had charm. the Stone Rose was an excuse to write something with Ancient Rome. One of her other books, the Last Dodo, is superb in my opinion. I recommend it to anyone.

I've been reading the books and I liked the Stone Rose. I particularly liked the part where we find out that the Doctor made the sculpture of Rose. Take that Mickey!

Well, this is the second Doctor Who novel that I've read, I'm on 7 now! They're all really good and this is one of the best, second only to Feast of the Drowned.

I loved Stone Rose cos it's just so adorable. Does anyone else think that it's written like they achaully are a couple?

But that's the other thing. They're not a couple, she's just a companion. As much as I hate to admit it, they were all just companions. Except for Nyssa, apparently, as Peter Davison claims. That's beside the point, though. The book had great potential, it just fell a little short. It came off kind of immature, and not very realistic in comparison to the other episodes we've seen. I think the author can do better, and does do better in some of her other work. It was mostly filler, and the filler itself was silly. We can add some amazing, super-unnecessary fight scene for filler, but we do not, I repeat, do not, need Rose asking a GENIE for chips, for God's sake. I think that she just really decided that she wasn't as into it as she had thought she would be, and wrote down everything that popped into her head. It was a great idea, though, and Jacqueline Rayner‏ can describe things really well, so it was easy to imagine the landscape and the GENIE.

There was a lot of unnessacary filler when I think about it but lots of little fluffy bits that I loved. But while I loved it there were some parts that were a little too 'coupley' to pass as something that could happen in an episode.

The stone Rose is v.v.v.v fluffy, but hey! I still like it! When people say 'oh, but he hasn't really kissed her' I say 'STOP!!! YOU ARE WRONG, FOOL! THEY DO IN THE ROSE ROSE!'

Or something!

Right...okay, back to the topic at hand...Stone Rose. I actually listened to it on the audio book rather than read it but I liked it. I've read a few better Doctor who books though but this one is still good. Personally I'm on about my 16th Doctor Who book...I think. It might be more. I've read a lot of them so I can't really remember. Plus I've also read 5 of the Torchwood ones too.

Some parts of it were alright, but now that I've bought the book, I don't think I would spend the extra money to buy the audio. How are the Torchwood books, by the way? I'm considering buying a few, since I'm out of reading material of late.

I didn't buy the audio books. It came free in a magazine I happened to buy once.

The Torchwood ones are good. Better than i thought they would be. I would definitely recommend buying them if you like the series.

It sounds awsome and I reaally want it!! But I can't find it anywhere, what book shop did you guys get it from??

I got mine at Barnes and Noble, I was leaving for vacation and I wanted a book to read on the plane, since I'd finished the 8DA I'd bought earlier that day. So I found it in a relatively normal place.
