CherryIzzyTopic: Eriol and Kaho This topic is for those cannon (how I wish it wasn't) lovers, and please, dont get catty if you don't like this couple. |

Shikabane-MaiHAHA!! xDI wish it wasn't canon, but if it wasn't, Kaho would be all alone *cries* I WISH SHE WOULD GO WITH TOUYA *GROWLS* Touya is tall enough for Kaho! He's even taller than her and Eriol is so..................... short............ for her |

Convoy ButterflyThis topic is for those cannon (how I wish it wasn't) lovers, and please, dont get catty if you don't like this couple.Mind not being "catty" in your own description? Anyway, this is one of my two favorite CCS pairings, along with Touya/Yukito. I love E/K for the family dynamic that will develop between Eriol, Kaho, and Eriol's Guardians. |
|
Silentia DragonmoonI don't like the pairing. Yes Kaho is better with Touya if you come and think of it. But I don't like her as a character. I don't know why. Maybe because she is a pedophilous? |
|
Convoy ButterflyHow is Kaho better with Touya? I'm sorry, but all I see with Touya/Kaho is Touya feeding his mommy complex with a replacement mother figure in the guise of a girlfriend. That's not healthy for him and (getting into pure speculation) might be part of why she pushed him away and waited until he found another love who wasn't a mother figure before reentering his life-- and acting almost like an older sister.Maybe because she is pedophilous? 1. Awkward phrasing. "she's a pedophile" would be better; I'm not entirely sure "pedophilous" is a real word. 2. Kaho is not a pedophile. Touya was NOT that much younger than her when they were dating; he was a junior high student, and she was a student teacher, so probably a college student. That's what, six years at most? And as for her relationship with Eriol, PLEASE try to remember that he is an adult, mentally and chronologically, if not physically. She had time to figure out that, far from being a child, Eriol was a full adult and even a parent, in her time with him, preparing for the Final Judgment. Of course, if you want to preserve your bashing fantasies, you can imagine that she's only attracted to him because of his child's body, but keep in mind that that would also show up during her time teaching Sakura's class. | #5 Aug 16th 2007, 10:49pm

JenEvanFor some reason, this pairing seems to be 'invisible', despite being canon... And as usual,I kinda find myself liking the pair; mostly for its controversial physical appearance, and then its dynamics, as well as the harmony that I felt from it ^^ looking at them felt like looking at an affectionate old couple :) warm and gentle. All my opinion so far. However,I do not consider it to be paedophilic.Eriol is, afterall, an adult (probably even older than Kaho O_O),only with the body and appearance of a child. There is a part that (if no mistake) Ruby did comment about him turning into this child form after creating them... No offense to anyone. Just felt sympathy for one of the pair I like in the CCS series :) |

Convoy ButterflyThere is a part that (if no mistake) Ruby did comment about him turning into this child form after creating them... It's Spinel who says that, actually, and and what he says is that Eriol has been in the child's form since he created them. Later, we see Eriol and Fujitaka being "reincarnated" right after Clow's death as children, strongly implying that Eriol is exactly Fujitaka's age. So, yeah, Eriol is older than Kaho. And even if he weren't, he still has Nakuru, his teenage "daughter". E/K does have some pedophile undertones, because Kaho doesn't look that much older than Nakuru, but they're the opposite of what most people expect. looking at them felt like looking at an affectionate old couple That's one of the things I love about them and what makes them unique among CCS canon pairings. Theirs isn't a childhood crush or high school sweethearts; they met as adults and fell in love as adults. They (probably) also weren't love at first sight, and even if they were, they stayed "just friends" for years before entering a romantic relationship. Mature pairings are love. |

JenEvanThanks for pointing out the mistake :P Well,just hope all's well for our fav pair ^_^ | #8 Mar 31st 2008, 12:41am

ARAMAS Are WeI don't like the pairing to much, seeing as it never really intrested me, but I still respect it and it's fans. 'course I'm not really a strict cannon person and tend to side with fannon. | #9 Jul 19th 2008, 11:14pm

0o Moon Calf o0What is the deal with everyone hating Eriol x Kaho? I don't think I ever saw so many people against the pairing until I came to this site, and why is it everyone seems to have grievances against Kaho? ExK is one of the most unique pairings in the entire series, it's one of my personal favorites. I think Convoy Butterfly made an excellent point earlier that it's one of the only pairings where both concerned are really adults. It's a more mature relationship between Eriol and Kaho-- neither one of them are children, they've both lived through some nice rough spots-- and I think it's one of the only pairings in the series with the potential of a true passionate romance. As wonderful as the pairings between the younger characters are, SxS, Chiharu x Yamazaki... you just can't write the same kind of story as you can with Eriol and Kaho. Not to mention I think it's kind of sweet that both of them found each other. Kaho had her fling with Toya in her youth, but it's simply not the same, and let’s face it: if Eriol hadn't come into her life, she would have ended up on her own. As for Eriol, I really think that Kaho is exactly what he needed. We can guess form the subtle clues left by CLAMP that as Clow Reed, the magician apparently never found himself a true stable love he could hold a relationship with. I really like the idea that when he split his soul, the man finally found happiness: Fujitaka had Nadeshiko for whatever short a time period, and Eriol found Kaho. | #10 Jul 26th 2008, 2:55pm

JenEvanAgree with Moon Calf... ExK is a more mature relationship, compare to SxS;and because Eriol is an adult himself. I guess it's their physical appearance that affect their popularity... but this is one canon pair I'm staying with ^_^ | #11 Jul 27th 2008, 9:25am

Convoy Butterflyif Eriol hadn't come into her life, she would have ended up on her own I think she probably would've become Tsukimine Shrine's permanent miko. Not a horrible fate, but being with Eriol gives her a reason to leave home and live somewhere far away. as Clow Reed, the magician apparently never found himself a true stable love he could hold a relationship with He did have a semi-stable relationship with Yuuko, as revealed in the Mokonas' backstory. By that point, he already had his Guardians, and they weren't really Yuuko's children as much as they were Clow's, even though the Mokonas treated them like siblings. What was probably a major roadblock in Clow and Yuuko's relationship was their clairvoyance, reminding them constantly that it wasn't going to last and that Clow would die at a set date. With Eriol, at least in the manga, that won't be a problem; he gave up his foresight with half his power, so he and Kaho don't have a ticking clock over their heads. There's still the possible issue of the Guardians, but I think Kaho would make a good step-mother and not feel like an interloper; her roles in life, because of her status as miko and job as teacher, are to nurture, protect, teach, and guide. I guess it's their physical appearance that affect their popularity That can't be the only reason it's so hated; Rika/Terada looks just as questionable, doesn't have any extenuating circumstances, and it's loved as often as hated. I think people started out hating it because of Eriol/Tomoyo's popularity, and now it's cool to hate it, because everyone must hate a canon pairing. | #12 Jul 27th 2008, 2:32pm

JenEvanO_O Eriol/Tomoyo....? I have watched the whole series unedited from head to toe + read the comics;never in the entire duration that this pairing ever came into mind.... '_' But since I was never into CCS fandom; I didnt know much about this pair's popularity; until now, that is :P Mayb I shd find out more about how it come about.... I dunno....but to me (solely referring to only me),it is a lil' alien... | #13 Jul 27th 2008, 9:00pm

Convoy ButterflyI think Eriol/Tomoyo started as a way to give Tomoyo a happy ending that fit the authors' standards, and the fangirls just took it and ran with it. Now you find people who don't realize that Eriol/Tomoyo is practically a crack pairing, and you find others who read deep symbolism into the presence of "shoujo flowers" on pages that feature Eriol and Tomoyo interacting in any way. | #14 Jul 28th 2008, 6:29pm

ARAMAS Are WeOr there's the few of us who just support the pairing with no real reason behind it. Some people just hear about a pairing one day, read a few fics and decide "Hey I like this, I think I'll keep reading it and maybe write something myself" | #15 Jul 28th 2008, 6:37pm

Convoy ButterflyFine. Just don't call it canon, practically canon, should be canon, or better than canon. Also, don't call Eriol/Kaho "completely random" while at the same time saying that Eriol/Tomoyo would've made soooo much more sense if it had happened. Finally, please try to acknowledge that both Eriol and Tomoyo have different loves that are meaningful and real, and that their canon love interests are not horrible people. If there was less of that from the E/T fandom, I might not have such a strong negative reaction to it. | #16 Jul 28th 2008, 6:55pm

ARAMAS Are WeHey I'm not sayin' it makes more sense than cannon or that it's better than/should have been cannon. As I've stated I tend to side on fannon and I feel people can ship or bash, within reason, whatever they want. | #17 Jul 28th 2008, 6:58pm

Convoy Butterflypeople can ship or bash, within reason, whatever they want Does "within reason" for bashing mean "back up your hatred with logical reasoning"? Because if not, then I disagree. Bashing, to me, means excessive vocal hatred for something with little or no rationale for it. I might be vocal about my hatred of E/T, but I make sure to have good, solid reasons for it that I can give out whenever anyone asks. | #18 Jul 28th 2008, 8:21pm

ARAMAS Are WeNo what I mean is calling the people who support the pairing you bash and the pairing Satanic or attaching any kind of religion to it. Trust me, a friend of mine ran into something like that a while back. She just blew it off as another whacko who threw a ** fit over something stupid. | #19 Jul 28th 2008, 8:27pm
|
|
Convoy ButterflyHow about attaching a religion to the pairing you love? I've seen someone say that God intended Eriol and Tomoyo to be together, and that every other non-slash pairing (especially Eriol/Kaho) was a sin. | #20 Jul 28th 2008, 8:48pm
|
|
ARAMAS Are WeYeah that's a bad thing to. It's okay if it's said jokingly, like with my friend before she and the pairing were call satanic even then it was after the other person brought God into it, but even then including religion into stupid things such as what pairings you support is just...sad. | #21 Jul 28th 2008, 8:51pm

Convoy ButterflyOooh, equating pairings with shipper's beliefs. One of my (least) favorite parts of ship wars. Because someone who likes an incest pairing must be doing it with their family, lolicon and shoutacon fans regularly seduce kids, and people who write rapefics are rapists themselves. *rolls eyes* One of the most bizarre ones I've seen was in HP fandom- H/Hr shippers saying that R/Hr shippers support abusive relationships, and if they (the H/Hr shippers) were to support R/Hr, they'd have to abuse their significant other. | #22 Jul 29th 2008, 2:22pm
