Topic: Siegfried Pairings

Siegfried is the center of many pairings in Soul Calibur from the normal (SiegfriedxIvy) to the more exotic (SiegfriedxSeong Mi-na) to the technically impossible with out murder (SiegfriedxSophitia).

I, myself, happen to be partial to SiegfriedxSophitia even though all the logic in my body whispers "She's married!". Not to rant but (ah what the hell it is to rant might as well accept it) i came to SC section an innocent lad with no concept of pairing (though i was taken her by a link to ' I am You Slave' by EvaXephon so go figure) and then I read Keloros' 'Blades Together' and I couldn't get the two of them (Sieg and Soph that is) and now I have been assimulated, a soulless member of the SiggySoph army.

That said, I like to think of myself as being a strong supporter of Variaty (canon pairings do not exist!). From the growing amount of Tira/Sig fics to that one or two Siggy/Taki and even pairings that don't involve Sig at all (won't talk about them here as that is a different thread. So go out and write a fic. Who cares what the pairing is!

All that said what are your opinions of the Siggy pairings do like only certain ones (maybe you only like ones that don't involve Rothion dying) or maybe you hate Sig and want him to die? Tell all!

I figured there was something between Siegfried and Sophitia, but since she's already married, I was thinking he could be paired up with her sister, Cassandra. She's spunky, independant, and would do whatever it takes for her family, and he's kind of a loner. It might start off rock at first, but I think the Sieg/Cass thing could work. Don't agree with me? Fine. I hold no grudge.

I believe almost any pairing can work if properly supported with writing (there are few cases where pairings can be disproved as that is more difficult. Since emotions and thus pairings are not math which can easily disprove and with more difficult prove. The way I see it emotions are fickle and love more so, strange romances form all the time and thus finding the proof that a pairing can NEVER happen is impossible. You can say this CAN happen but this is MORE LIKELY from indictations but its impossible to say never). Thus a cassandra pairing works and I find it, like almost all pairings, as amusing as the auther is talented. If the writer does a good job moving the romance and keeping it in character (I'm problably more tolerent with OOCness as long as its not extreme than most) then any pairing is a good one in my book. The only time a pair grates my nerves is when it starts to get overdone (and last time I checked Sieg/Cass was not overdone) because it gets less original, for the most part, and all important variaty starts to get smothered.

All that said I whole heartedly support the Sieg/Cass pairing. I read on fic based on it but I didn't particular like the writing of it so I'm hoping to find another fic that will win me over a bit better.

I am in the process of making a Cassandra Siegfried fic, I just need a good week or month to get my other stories cought up... now for Siegfried and Sophitita. I suppose it is possible but you must also remember her kids are in the mix so that could complicate things with pairing Sophitia and Siegfried even more.

Can't wait to see that fic! I in the mood for a really good siggy/cass fanfic I can't wait a month though so I shall procede to gnaw on my arm till then...delicious!

The prospect of children complicates but also deepens the possibilities. It might be harder for a lay writer like me but the truely prosaicly gifted should be able to turn it into a thing of beauty.

well I'll give you a little spoiler. It takes place after Seigfrieds sory on Tales of Souls (sans is it sans?) with the input. And another thing Siegfried hasn't slept for likely months right so after all that.... It is slowly coming along I just need to get past Sophitia walking in the aftermath of a Cassandra rage because I don't think Sophitia has seen her get really mad like she does when she yells at the Hephestas statue. And I know I spelled the gods name wrong I can't help the fact that I have to go in a minute so I have to finish this up quick. So as soon as I get past that I think the chapter will be done...

You misconstrue. What I meant was...how should i say this... your characters commit acts that are very (italics) piared. I think it you had written chapter two when i found the link (yes at Gamesfaqs). So yeah. Thats what I mean.

oh chappie 2 on 'i am your slave' very um..interesting. :)

read it, reviewed. and Tira/Siggy, its a strange paring when the game first came out i soooo thought the paring would be Tira/Nightmare.

am i changing the subject??? woops. :(

In a way, so did I. At one point, I had Siegfried and Nightmare mixed up, and thought that Tira gave herself to Siegfried in SC3. It made logical sense to me, because they seemed like very similar people to me, as I described in the first chapter of my story. When I discovered that, in the game, Tira had actually given herself to Nightmare, not Siegfried, I was disapointed, as Tira giving herself to Siegfried made more sense to me. I started wondering, "What exactly would it be like if things went that way?" I started writing, and the rest is history.

Is all that stuff canon? If so where did you find that, and if not bravo. Stories about Soul edge and Siegfried, i mean.

Yep, everything in the third chapter is canon, about Siegfried and Soul Edge. I get my information from a wide variety of sources - the instruction manual for the old Soul Blade arcade game, Soul Calibur 1 for the DreamCast, websites with transcripts of everything to occur in the games, and of course the official Namco site's history section (in English as well as translated from the Japanese sections of the site). I put a lot of effort into gathering all the info I can to make the story as authentic and detailed as possible...although I take a few liberties here and there. .;

I think Sophitia should dump her husband I don't want him to be sad about it tho he did nothing wrong.

I think if Sophitia saw Nightmare on her journey, she could calm his nerves into normal Seigfried, destroy Soul Edge, and help him understand what the voice of reason is, not that I know...

Until then, he is an untouchable force; as of now, he’s nowhere near ready to surrender himself.

Uh...first of all he has to work on himself and try and defeat Nightmare once and for all so I don't think he would be concerned with love right now.

Sophitia is good for him - yes, I know she's married, but I think Sop and Sieggy would make a cute couple. I think she will try and help him in his quest for salvation if they have teamed up together. On another note, before I thought Sieggy and Sophitia would be good for eachother, I used to think when I first played Soul Blade/Edge, Hwang would be good for Sophitia (no idea why though...) but I was only a kid at the time lol.

However if they decided to make Sophitia remain married to Rothion then Cassandra would be great for him. Siegfried sure needs a laugh in his life and Cassandra would entertain him with her spunkness xD

I think Ivy would be weird though - if he says or does anything wrong then she would whip him, ouch!
