BrindleTopic: Hey people! Hey people. This is my new forum where you can talk about anything about D/N!Basically, the rules are what the rules are for all of the forums, plus these: -please no cussing -be respectful (i sound like a teacher here) that's it! ~Brindle~ |
StAnDiNgContrappostoWell, there already is a forum for D/N... |
Akira ShinaichiSince this is a forum for Daine/Numair, I was just wondering if anyone knew what their daughter's name was. I know it starts with an S and the name is mentioned at the end of Trickster's Queen, but I lent the book to a friend and don't remember... |
StAnDiNgContrappostoit's Sarralyn, and their son is Rikash. :) |
BrindleI love Sarralyn and Rikash! I think it's so sweet that Daine named Rikash after the Stormwing. |
StAnDiNgContrappostoI thought it was kinda weird actually... haha, i feel bad for Daine and Numair's children. Their daughter's name is awful, "Sarralyn Salmalin" it sounds TERRIBLE! haha, and then their son is named after a bloodthirtsy monster. (nm that it's rikash, he's still a storm wing) haha... awww poor kids. |
Numair's Loverhaha.... actually, i always liked sarralyn's name, mostly because of the crazy coincidence that its like my name put together, Sarah and Lynn. haha i thought that was great... but i do feel sorry for rikash, ive always wondered what daine was thinking wanting to name her son after a stormwing... forget naming kids after important people like dead kings or heroes, lets just name them after creatures that roll around in dead bodies! yessss!| #7 Jan 28th 2006, 11:19am . Edited Jan 28th 2006, 2:06pm

Anora-the-DreamerWell...It's kind of appropriate to name a kid after a friend that died. (I've heard of real people doing that.) Naming them Jelly or Leaf would be much much worse...| #8 Jan 28th 2006, 12:28pm
Numair's Loveroh i know that, and i know a few people that have done that also. I was just trying to be funny lol but i still dont understand why of all the people they know, they chose to name him after rikash. It didnt seem that he was that significant enough in their lives to chose to name their son after him. And i think if they named them after the darkings, other people would think they had mental problems lol |
StAnDiNgContrappostoHere are the answers to these pressing questions, heh heh heh...the reason Daine and Numair name their son after a carcuss desecrating hateful monster is.... Numair is an absinthe downing introverted shut-in who lives vicariously through books and uses magic and sex as an outlet to hide the emotional damage received during awkward youth. In other words, he's INSANE. Daine is an emotionally inbalanced, immaculatly concepted animal from a broken family who lived in a wolf clan for far too long. In other words, she's INSANE. Therefore any offspring they may produce will also be INSANE. How better to advertise INSANITY then being named after a creature who spends his time threading human bones through fouled hair and rolling in gore and **? Now THAT makes sense to me. ;D Haha, rock on Daine and Numair! hmm... any ideas what the next one will be called? Haha | #10 Jan 28th 2006, 7:47pm
Numair's Loverhaha, well now that you put it THAT way....it makes complete sense. as for other names for anymore insane offspring, ill leave that up to you ali, and in a way, i almost dont want to know what you will come up with in that numair obsessed, complex space of craziness that you call your mind. | #11 Jan 29th 2006, 8:42am

KeiyaJadei have an odd question. i was reading another book and the two main characters made me think of daine and numair. so i was wondering if anyone has read howl's moving castle by diane wynne jones, and if you have, do sophie and howl remind you in any way of daine and numair?i've been doing research on this fact :p would be easier if a friend didn't have a book i need | #12 Feb 06th 2006, 8:47pm

Silent Murderessforget naming kids after important people like dead kings or heroes, lets just name them after creatures that roll around in dead bodies! yessss!lol. yeah i thought that was a bit disturbing too. | #13 Feb 08th 2006, 3:11pm

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING though i haven't read the book i saw the movie and i was like WHOA! none of my friends thought so though so i just i kind of gave up on that train of thought. But aparently it wasn't just me. yay! i'm not insane! | #14 Feb 08th 2006, 3:14pm

Silent MurderessIf you like D/N pairings you should read 'Chained' By Kimra. Very good piece but it is rated M so i don't encourage the reading of minors (even though i am one). I don't really see why it's rated Mature, there isn't any REALLY explicit content in it. There is some mentionings of Mature things but other than that... any way, it's very good, you should read it. She doesn't update too often though...| #15 Feb 08th 2006, 3:20pm

StAnDiNgContrappostoYeah, i thought about daine and numair when i read howl's moving castle too... but i don't think they are similiar enough to make a big hype about.... i mean... ok, howl is a sorceror, older and arrogant, but other than that...he doesn't have any other similiarities especially not in physical appearance, same goes with sophie... i dunno... i don't see too many similiarities...| #17 Feb 09th 2006, 8:23pm

AyakashiI love this couple, Daine and Numair are so great together. I agree with Brindle that it's so sweet that they named their son Rikash. ^o^| #18 Feb 12th 2006, 12:29am

Sarralyn NumairsriI know, it's so sweet that they named their son after Rikash. I loved the Stormwing's last name...Moonsword. It's so pretty. Also, to those people who think Sarralyn Salmalin sounds bad, she could also be called Sarralyn Numairsri(see my name, hehe) you know, because if "Sarrasri" means "Sarra's daughter", couldn't "Numairsri" mean "Numair's daughter?"P.S. How do you guys pronounce "Salmalin?" I've always pronounced it "Salm-ah-LEEN," which doesn't sound so bad with "Sarralyn." | #19 Feb 12th 2006, 9:07am
Numair's Loverwouldnt she only be called numairsri if its out of wedlock?| #20 Feb 12th 2006, 10:20am
Sarralyn NumairsriI don't know...maybe. But I always thought that "sri" meant daughter, and that "sra" means "son." (From Sarra's name being "Sarra Beneksri" and Inar's name being "Inar Hadensra.") Anybody else got any ideas?| #21 Feb 12th 2006, 11:31am
StAnDiNgContrappostoYeah, i thought it was out of wedlock too, and it's pronounced sal-ma-leen that's what it says on the TP website.| #22 Feb 12th 2006, 11:58am

Darkrose DragonkinYou'd be named after the mother if it was wedlock. Daine had no 'official father' aka no one except Sarra knew who the father was so she was stuck with the last name Sarrasri. Which identifies her as a bastard child.| #25 Apr 02nd 2006, 9:22am

Agent MotielI'm missing something. It said nothing about them having kids in RotG. Would someone mind informing me of where they got this info?| #26 Apr 15th 2006, 1:03pm

LeiaPrincess21So I most certianly am planning on starting a new D/N C2 so any references of good stories would be nice. I realize that there are like...thirty of them already, but I'm yet to find a complete one. Like they all have the same ten or so, then they will differ on all the rest, and some have stories that are impossible to find anywhere else. So references of good or hard to find stories would rock my socks off.| #30 Apr 23rd 2006, 5:24pm

Floatey948K, maybe you will answer my question, cuz noone else has...How do you start a C2? Or a forum? Anyone know and willing to tell me? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease? Noone ever responds...| #31 May 22nd 2006, 8:51pm

LeiaPrincess21you have to go to the c2 part of your user page and follow the instructions and the links on the upper right hand part of the page| #32 May 22nd 2006, 8:53pm

Psychiatrist13Ya I was wondering how you use a C2 to because I have C2 manager and staff but that is it. Could someone please tell me! Pretty Please!!!!!!!!!!| #34 Jul 01st 2006, 7:52pm
Floatey948Hey, no prob, I couldn't figure it out myself once...So, to add stories to your C2, at the bottome of the page, where you would click to give a review, click the arrow, and at the very bottom it says "add to C2 archive" or somethin like that. Then you pick which C2 you want to add it to, and thats it. I hope that answers your question, it was a bit confusing, but if you have any others let me know!!| #35 Jul 04th 2006, 10:51am

a.s.a.h.i.k.a.g.eYay for DainexNumair! And I LOVE HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE!! There's one other thing you didn't point out, however. In both, the hot wizard/sorcerer dude is way older than the girl. And if you think about it, isn't Numair the opposite of Howl lookwise? I can't remember what color eyes Numair has...isn't it dark, though? But anyways... DxN forever! | #36 Nov 16th 2006, 10:59pm

lightningbent101OH MY GOSH! that's totally right! HowlxSophie, NumairxDaine... wow. I never made that correlation before. Also, RIKASH IS THE MAN. I mean... Stormwing. Rikash is the Stormwing. I almost cried when he died... almost. nearly. | #37 Nov 30th 2006, 10:37pm

laal rattyYep, very strange.Has anyone heard the song 'You're all I need to get by', sung by Marvin Gaye and someone else (I forget who). I heard it before I read 'Realm of the Gods' and I could suddenly see Daine and Numair singing the song. I couldn't wait to read the book to see whether my sudden vision was correct. I love the song and the book and love Numair/Daine. They are the only Pierce stories on ff.net that I read. | #39 May 20th 2007, 6:16am

pbandj24hey does skysong think of Dine as her mom? i read that in a fic once and din't know if it was true...has anyone ever thought of how Daine told Kit? "well, kit I'm not your mother...she's dead, sorry." i guess daine would do it in a better way than that though...anyone got a different approach on this??| #40 Jul 28th 2007, 12:16am
sarralynsalmalinthe first thing a baby animal sees, it usually thinks of it as its mother... but kit would have seen her mother first, right? so i dont know. i imagine that daine would have tried to explain better, through tkaa if she had to. oh welllove Daine+Numair the best pair ever!! rock on! | #41 Sep 05th 2007, 1:01pm
weeblz-katYea i think it would be Numairsra though... coz when Daine finds out who her dad is, she thinks about changing her name to Weirynsra. so i kinda figured that sra was talking about the fathers name and sri was talking about the mothers name | #42 May 08th 2008, 1:46am

weeblz-katsorry, i just realised how confusing that must have been... i was replying to a thing that was like halfway up the page =D | #43 May 08th 2008, 1:49am

weeblz-katOmg, i was watching Indiana Jones the other night, and it struck me how similar Indy is to Numair. Think about it... scholarly, get into adventures alot, kinda womanising... | #44 May 19th 2008, 12:38am
xMusicMayhemMarzxYh i thought that too. but not too much. indy and numair are very different too! i luv daine + numair! i mean they're just so cute! | #45 Jun 09th 2008, 2:23pm
Da One Me to Pwn You AllHa, that's makes sense, actually:) Numair is sorta like Indy... Except for that whole "physical effort" thing. It ain't very scholarly. | #46 Sep 08th 2008, 3:06am
