Topic: Maxi

Does anyone besides me like Maxi? I mean especially in his second costume? It just doen't seem like it...maybe I am alone in the world quick some body prove me wrong! I must say this is getting kind of ridiculous... is there no oneout there?

Hi, Dragonlady. You're talking to someone else who likes Maxi right here! In any costume and thoughout every game, he is my favourite character. It kind of strikes me as odd that he doesn't have as many fans as the others, but at any rate I don't care too much.

I started using him in the first place because he's a pirate (or was one), and I have a taste for pirates and anything pirate related (XD). And at first, yes, he just seems to be a bit of a womaniser with little else going for him but good looks, but there is much more to him than that. People overlook his story all the time and look to the other guys for more 'in-depth', powerful stories, but I think that's wrong. I've grown to like Maxi more and more. His story gives just as much a base for a good bit of fan-fiction as any other character if only people would try it out more.

It's slow work, you want to know something on my very defunct home PC(I think that's the right word) I had the slow start of a somewhat Maxi-centric fan fic. That was sort of an off shoot of King Of Pain, which a much better version and complete version of is also on that PC.

Well, I say off shoot because in King of Pain my lead was supposed to be a character kind of lost in time and wound up in Soul Calibur time per say and at one point she meets this character who is a doctor and hte main plot for King of Goes on.

Well the maxi story would have had the girl doctor in more of a lead and I misunderstood something in the Canon Maxi story that I didn't figure out until SC3, he didn't forget about who treated him and etc. he forgot about Kilik, and Xianghua, but anyway, I had been thinking that maybe he forgot about the time when he was getting treated and that there was a whole village that sort of took him in and therein lies my doctor who is alarmed of Maxi Leaving since she didn't know about the 'treatment' and there that story would have begun....

Any way, Maxi pairings?

I really like Maxi, he's my fave. And it kills me everytime my best friend say's to me, everytime we play SC, SC2 and SC3, "Your future husband is dying..." but then again he says it anytime when Maxi isn't dying anyway. I've used Maxi all the time now and it's hard to play with other characters now. I've never understood why my friend would call Maxi my 'Future Husband', so don't ask me why, I don't even know if I have a crush on him or not! Aww man, I'm so sad...

Your friend is just teasing you, and that comes with the territory of being a fan girl of a not quite so avidly followed character. Besides even people who like characters that have huge fan bases, get teased by their friends who don't quite get it. They just don't have your taste.

No problem. And if you feel some need to tease him back or point out it can be certain guys too find some guys who find characters on the game attractive... I have had people say to me that Talim is hot or something akin to that a few times it was slightly ackward since it was another girl but fair point though at least one guy has also said similar of her...

Fellow Maxi fangirl right here! Anyway, he's my favorite male character, of course. He strikes me as the funny type for some reason when he's not being angsty and all hell bent for revenge. And his crazy outfits are a plus. But what seems to sadden me about fans, is that they call him Elvis and a womanizing egomaniac. I believe that to be completely untrue. And besides, he was based off of Bruce Lee, so what gives? Anyway, I think he seems to be the kind of guy to know all the ways of treating a woman right.

I think he can be good to women but I also think he can be a big flirt. I get a kick out of it personally.. I wouldn't call him Elvis though.

I agree. Flirting and being a womanizer are two different things. And like I said, he's nothing like Elvis, so yeah.
