Come on the long blond hair those blue eyes.... but I would like to know other reasons... just please keep them pg-13

Ah... Siegfried is not only an irresistably beautiful chracter, he's also facsinating due to his tragic story and emotional/mental instability. I love crazy/insane characters, particularly blonde ones. X3 Plus he's fun/easy to play as. Plus he's fun to draw and write about. =D

And his eyes are really bluish-green, not blue. Just needed to point that out. =3

I fully and totally agree, Though except for characters I make up I am having a bit of trouble pairing him with somebody... ahh, how I need to retype a story I have on my computer at home, that I can't save on disk or print here... that and start typing another story I have with him in it... my to do list is so massive it's shameful.

I just love Sieg. Well, one of the first reasons is that he's my strongest character. *smiles the satisfied grin of someone who has totally owned Olcadan and Night Terror over and over again*

Then, as a typical fangirl, I simply adore his looks but what most gets me is the depth of his character. That dark and bloody past makes one fascinating mind. I'm very fond of characters trying to redeem themselves of their past...

I actually have a Sieg fic in the works, but that one is anything but PG-13. And it's *holds a dramatic pause* slash, since that's my main kick, but there really isn't too much of it in the fandom.

I applaud beating Night Terror and Olcadon, ;^__^ though Siegfried is one of my better characters I have yet to beat Olcadon or Night Terror with him, the only way I got his Ancient weapon was by going through all the tutorials. And slash? I should know what that means but I don't. My life is way to sheltered.

Oh dear, how should I go about explaining this? Slash means a same-gender pairing, as in boy/boy. Sometimes it can apply to girl/girl, but that's mostly dubbed as femslash. Yeah, some people hate slash, some people love it and some are just plain indifferent.

Oh, thank you. I am not really a fan of slash then... I usually call that yaoi.... and I don't usually go for it unless the characters in whatever they were from were actually into someone of the same gender.

Yaoi is usually more of an anime specific, and using it outside that genre usually leads to encountering ignorance of the most painful quality.

It's nice to see that even if you're not particularly into it, you're very civil about it.

Well, outside of Soul Calibur, LOZ, and Fire Emblem I don't play too many video games. Though I am now kind of wondering who you would pair him with.... by the way thanks for warning me...

There are as many takes on this as there are people thinking about it, but the key thing to any Sieg pairings is a psychological one, slash or het. As hot as your random favorite bishounen might look with him, he's a tricky character and the writer must really work to make it plausible. I'm using SC 3 storyline to go by; The most believable way is to make it either a hurt/comfort thing with someone who can relate to his pain, and that'd make Kilik a good choice because of his personality and past.

Another, the one I'm working with, is a darker type of relationship which relies on the fact that Sieg isn't quite alright in the head. His need to pay for the past crimes could easily lead to the need to suffer in order to earn his redemption(aside the whole Destroy Sou Edge-gig), and that'd need a pairing with twisted enough a nature to not only put up with it, but also add to it just enough to let him keep Sieg. That just screams Raphael to me.

Happy to oblige. There's so much terminology around that things are bound to get mixed up a little. Hope my explanation satisfied your curiosity, and didn't scar you too badly. :)

I am unscarred. Though for a (I can't believe I am writing this!) slash pairing I was kind of picturing-- I'll explain first-- Siegfried in one of the many choices in Tales of Souls wanted to meet Mitsurgi because of his many travels seeking Soul Edge and he respected him because he didn't fear guns... it might be kind of weird but I was thinking the aforementioned Samurai. But that could be just my lack of coffee speaking right now...

Personally, I don't like any gay couples. And personally, I don't think any of the people on Soul Calibur 3 are good enough for him- but that's my opinion anyway.

That is a bit harsh, no one being good enough for him. And I respectfully agree though I was morbidly curious about who people would pair with Siegfried. But I can somewhat understand that opinion...

I think Siegfried is cute and all but not cute enough to like be called cute over Raphael. Also the gay couple thing it is not the most cute thing in the world to but it is still very entertaining! Especially the SIEG/RAPH stuff!!!

I am wondering why you haven't put up a topic on here about Rapheal then. The reason I haven't was because I, tending to be a rabid Siegfried fan on occaison, have a tendecncy to be biased against Raphael. Not that I flame it that much it is just a personal thing...

I can understand why you like Raphael as well, I sort of find him attractive but it's just his personality that turns me off, though when Siegfried was Nightmare that was scary too. But then again, he had that smile when you pressed Y and that kind of made up for all the scariness...mmm

Well miss Dragon I still think Amy can be paired up with Siegfried or Raphael no matter how old! I mean its only disgusting when only the older man likes her! But in this case in a story the couple would both share the same affection for each other! Which means they know their age difference yet they still wanna have some lovin' you know! AMY IS NOT TO YOUNG DARN IT!!!

Shattered Farewell

Oh lookie! I topic i can post in!

Personally I think Siegfried is the best thing since... since... um... romantic poetry?

It just strikes me that after being posessed for the entire second half of his puberty (he became nightmare presumably at age 16) and then avoiding all people, he'd be somewhat clueless when in a romantic situation. I don't think he's ever had a real girlfriend, what with going nuts right at prime teenage dateability time. He'd be kinda cute in a depressed 'what's happening to me' way.

Blagh; I'm actually writing a romance story with Sieg in it called 'Where the compass is Fickle'. Yes, it involves an OC, but I feel that I have done her well. She's a gamer pulled into the SC world (THE PREMISE IS REDEEMABLE AND FAR BETTER THAN THE CLICHES IDEA SOUNDS!); hot-tempered, stubborn, impatient and frustrated swordmaster out of Olcadan's acadamy after being flung into it and stuck there with no way out for 7 years. Yeah; Megan Clymore is fun. She is not only hot-tempered, but also incredibly klutzy, rude, blunt and kinda silly when not in battle.

Why do I choose the 'gamer from our world' idea for Siegfried? It's funny to read a character getting frustrated that she thought she knew everything, but when actually in the world she's no better than the rest of them when it comes to knowing what's happening... and she can't let Siegfried know she knows what's going on with him!

But yeah; Sieg is a wonderful tragic character to write. The best thing about Soul Calibur romance is that even witht he backstory and everything in the game and the quotes everything's still reasonably vauge and almost everyone can be characterised in a mulititude of ways. I feel that Sieg is not HORRIBLY HORRIBLY depressed all the time, but gets much more guilty when fighting for obvious reasons. Don't get me wrong, he's still and angst muffin, but he doesn't need to constantly spurt emo garbage everywhere all the time.

That, and he's hot. I mean seriously! Just look at him! He's toned and muscular without being a chunky muscle man, got a beautiful face, stunning aquamarine eyes, long blonde hair that you just want to run your fingers through, a rough, sexy voice that turns me into a crazy desperate fangirl, a frickin' gigantic sword *cough*, a SCAR (which is a HUGE turn on for me), and the finest butt I have ever seen on a videogame character EVER! That and I dig guys in armor __ :). I mean, how many can pull off long blonde hair and still be both GUTWRENCHINGLY HOT and masculine? A bishonen and a non-bishonen at the same time?! I think I might die! *look of rapture*

Ok, now I'm just rambling and will probably turn into a drooling mess if I go on. XD

I am hiding a huge cupboard of towels behind me for any drooling. Ooh I just thought of something weirdly coincidental that I should have thought of sooner. It's that the guy who voices him in the english version also voices my favourite characters in a couple of anime I watch, (Alucard in Hellsing, Zelgadis in Slayers.) The joys of wikipedia.

And when it comes to plotting out relationships I'd agree, Siegfried would have some problems. That could be why I want to write them so much, but never seem to pull it together.

Physical appearances aside (though I must concede that he is nowhere near ugly), Siegfried left the vividest emotional impression on me, out of all the characters. Kilik was came in second, but he wasn’t even close. As I have said in another forum, the combination of internal conflict and final redemption makes for a very potent story-prototype indeed. It touches a primordial nerve.

My god, that was the funniest thing I've read on this page! Though I personally think he should be on a Loriel commerical. Personally, I'd be infinitely amused to hear him say "Because I'm worth it!"

Getting back to the subject matter at hand, Siegfried is my favorite character because he's just a wonderful character. I loved how Namco wrote out his story. Sure, his angsting about his days as Nightmare can get a bit old, but who cares? With a guy that looks like him, I honestly could care less.

I agree about the shampoo commercial. I always fancied that he had some sort of hygiene thing about him. Then again, when you're forced to bathe in the blood of your victims, I can't blame him for wanting to be clean.

I'm not complaining. The only thing better than a good looking man with long hair is a good looking man with clean, tasty-smelling long hair. I wanna run my fingers through it!

Agreed on all accounts. Siegfried also seems to have this strange obsession over sinners and whatnot. I wouldn't be surprised if I pulled a bottle of holy water out of his pack.

SIEGFRIED: I only drink Holy Water to purge the tainted soul...

Gah! Now I can see Siegfried in a mineral water commerical! @_@

Anyway, yeah, I totally agree that it's all about the long hair. The long, flowing, pretty flaxen hair. I'm not surprised, since most of the characters I like and draw have long hair (Squall is a slight exception, only I liked him better under the alias "Leon" in KH wherein he had longer hair).

What I find even more amusing is the fact that I preferred Nightmare's 2P outfit in SCII (if you can't figure out why, it's because he had longer hair >_>). Still, Sieggy remains sexy in SCIII, and I'm digging his new crytalline armor in SCIV. Though I have to say his eyes were a little freaky in some of he screenshots and trailers. But the concept art was pure yum-yum.

Even if I do agree that Siegfried is probably much cleaner than most people during his time and age, I still think he'd smell a bit funky and still look a bit, ah, grungy. Hell, he probably smells better than Kilik and Maxi. But it's the sixteenth century and Siegfried is a traveler. I shall now curse humanity for inventing better hygiene products at a later date.

Uh... I'm beginning to ramble here. Time for Thordis to shut the hell up before she starts talking about stupid stuff like giving Siegfried an electric guitar...
