Aerith did look super cool, but I though the character they redid best was Reno. In the actual game, it's hard to tell if he's cute or not. (in fact, he looks pretty ugly in the game. I liked him anyways.)

About Tifa, I like her new outfit as well. Because of the older one's (using your term) "sluttiness", during the cut scene on the Highwind of her stumbling around, my cousin made the comment, "God! She could really poke an eye out with those!!" I glared at her for quite a while after some childish lauhter.

Really? You were that calm? I was all like "WHAT THE @#$@#%&#&^#*&!!!!" (I still loved him though)

I thought that Loz was well thought up. He was funny! XD (He also kicked Tifa's butt. That made me happy. I=Tifa-basher)

Sephiroth: the coolest character in the whole movie. he's sooo cute!! they made him look soo cool in this movie!! the fight at the end was soo cool!! " I Will Never Be A Memory"( folds one black wing over himself and disappears)

Rufus: really cute!! cool voice it matched him well!!! i was sooo surprised he was alive!! after i saw him in final Fantasy VII in the explosion with the weapon situtation, i thought he was dead!! thank god he was not.i also liked the whole flashback situation with him.

Reno:very funny and a goof ball!! lollolol!! added a hint of comedy to the movie. reallly cute and hot!!

Kadaj: very cute and hot! lol and physo but that's what makes him soo cool!!! plus he's a very good fighter! has a really good voice.

Yazoo: very cute and good loooking. a very good fighter as well. and a very good voice.

Loz: sort of weriod.

Cloud: he's soo cool in this movie, made me want to play final fantasy VII alll over again. lol

Vincent: a very good come back into the movie!! he's really good-looking!!! he's soo cute!! a very,very good fighter and his voice is amazing!!!

Tifa: just the way i remmember her, but even better!! :)

yuffie: a little annoying at the end where they were in the airship. but a good fighter during the Bahamut battle.

Barret:he's a little more like Mr.t than i thought..... very funny tho.

Red XIII: the first person to see in the beginning, but needs more lines that just one. cool voice.

Cid: alot better than he was in Kingdom Hearts 2. and alot better than he was in final fantasy VII. Cool voice.

1) Loz: I put it up to the fact that Loz is just a big kid at heart. A slightly insane, relatively violent kid, but still just a kid. He may seem less intimidating because he doesn't appear to be quite as bright as his "brothers", and probably isn't all that bad when he isn't fighting. I mean, Yazoo is just crazy-quiet, and Kadaj seems to be a little over the deep end even when he isn't fighting.

2) Vincent:...He's Vincent. That's all I can really come up with. Maybe she met him at some point. Or maybe he's just a sweet little teddy bear on the inside. Who knows?

As for the characters:

Returning:

Cloud - Like him just as much as before. Not much has changed. Thought Steve Burton did a pretty damned good job as his VA.

Tifa - A little off on the VA sometimes, but she was pretty good. I like the new look as well.

Vincent - Still love the guy. Steve Blum doing his voice is just icing on the cake.

Yuffie - Like the new look, and she's just as amusing as in the game. The VA did pretty good as well, for the few lines she had.

Barret - His VA did a pretty good job. Not many lines to judge by though. I also liked the new gun arm.

Red XIII - He didn't have nearly enough parts, and his VA wasn't quite what I expected. Good, but not what I thought it'd be.

Cait - I love it. Amusing, and the accent seemed to fit disturbingly well.

Rufus - Just how I always like him (Personality wise) and just how I expected him to sound. Officially one of my "Potential Gods". "A good son would have known." = Insta-win.

Reno/Rude - Same as Rufus. Reno knocking Rude off his feet and then stepping on his glasses was also rather amusing.

Aerith - Actually, I was very pleased with her. She didn't do quite as well in KHII, but the voice acting was hardly the focus in that game (Except with Sora and the other few really important characters).

Sephiroth - Sephiroth remains my God. I thought the VA (SUPERMAN! NOOJ!) was great.

Zack - Officially one of my Vice-Gods, next to Vincent and Axel.

Cid - Like with Reno/Rufus/Rude, I loved his personality. His VA was also much better than in KHII, with a slightly toned down, but still very apparent, accent.

Marlene - While I thought the VA was okay, there was just something that I didn't like about her character at times. Maybe it was the whole "Toss a piece of something at the bad buy that's going to make him even stronger" thing.

Tseng/Elena - Not many speaking parts. The VAs were okay. I think Elena's was a bit too light, but the acting was still good.

And, as always: Jenova is my Goddess.

New Voices:

Kadaj - He was a bit off at times, but he was usually great when he went on one of his insane rants. I especially liked his line: "So what if I'm a puppet. Once upon a time...You were too!" I also liked his character. Maybe it's a little weird, but his ending is one of the few times that I've nearly teared up in a game/movie. I just felt sorry for the guy...

Yazoo - Not really much to judge. He didn't have much development, and didn't have many speaking parts. The VA did well for the most part though.

Loz - While he had a few off moments ("Where's mother!" and "You meanie!"), but his VA was okay otherwise, and he was amusing.

Denzel - I like the kid. "Son of a ***!" at Bahamut = Guts.

Aerith: "Mou...dai jou bu...da ne? (Translated as:You're alright now...right?)"

Loz: "Kaasan wa? (Where's mother?)"

Kadaj: "Hohona!(I'm unsure if this is actually what he says here. ^^;)Niisan da! (look! It's brother!)"

Cloud: "Ore wa...hitori ja nai! (I'm...not alone!)"

As for the Marlene issue, I think she just needed someone to cling to, and Loz was semi-kind to her...sorta...

As for Vincent, she already would have known him, so it would be easy for her to find solace in his cloak. Just my opinion.

Kadaj was crazy...and that's why I like him..

Yazoo (zuu? Sorry.) was a girl to them, a girl who should have gone to Korea to further a career in modelling.

See what I mean? They thought Reno was a girl as well, which is infuriating, but....well. You can only sigh.

GENESIS AWARDS:: Best in Final Fantasy Fanfiction.

I just like to spell things as they would be in Japanese. Yazuu would be written with the Katakana YA-ZU-U or with a a longish line after the "ZU" character. I don't spell Kadaj and Loz that way 'cause 1) Kadaj would just be "Kadaji" and 2) Loz would be hard to recognize 'cause it would be "Rotsu." (looks cool, though, dunnit? XD)

Anime is drawn very femininly. If you aren't used to the style, it would be understandable to mistake a guy for a girl. Now a friend of mine took it too far when I showed her a picture of FFIX's enemy character Kuja.

Friend: "What's that?"

Me: "A character from a totally awesome video game! *hugs picture* Ilove him so much!"

F: "Is that a girl?"

M: "NO! Would I say I loved HIM if he was?"

F: "...It it a eunich? Or it it a cross-dresser?"

M: *promtly slaps friend on the shoulder 'til she shuts up*

That kinda thing is soooooo annoying!

But so does Vincent o_O

Anyways, Kadaj is my favorite and I would have liked to have him fleshed out a bit more in the movie, but hey, that's what fanfiction is for right? He has an interseting twisted side to him and I always wondered what it would have been like if Kadaj was given more of chance (and perhaps not Jenova's head for a mother).

On a side note, has anyone ever noticed the picture on the back of the english box (you can find it on the internet too) of Cloud carrying Kadaj's lifeless body against a yellow backround? It never happens, mainly because Kadaj disenigrates, but its a pretty picture. I always wondered why they had it. Fanservice? (lol HATE THAT PAIRING.)

Oh well. There's my two cents. ^_^

And as for the Kadaj and Cloud (Kuraudo) image, there were a few other images that were not in the movie, such as the bros. in the Shinra ruins, that one of Yazoo kicking Reno (strange image of Reno, I must say), the bros. on their bikes on the hill, Rude and Reno with his tongue stuck out, and Cloud holding his sword with only half of his face visible. I think these were just intended to be prettyful pics to make fans happy, not to be in the movie or suggest homosexuality. Just a different perspective or something for the scenes, perhaps?

as for the newbies.. i wasn't so keen on Kadaj. He looked cool, but sometimes he semed creepy, like Michel Jackson or something. Yazoo was awesome^^ definately cool, he was the cool one out of the three~ and Loz, my fave, was adorable for a bad guy^^ like when he was fighting Tifa, and Yazoo rang, and Loz was crying^^ lol

I would have reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (really) liked to have more Zack fair in the movie, but that's what the new one is for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. Kadaj is cool :). It's cool to see the characters how Square-Enix really envisioned them, I mean with the not-so-good technology of 97', the Playstation didn't have the best of graphics, soooooooo . . . . . With FFVII AC It's like you really get to actually see the characters if you know what I mean. The characters are . . . . .one of a kind :)

OMG Sorry for sounding like a fan-girl, but I sincerely agree with you with things like Aerith and Zack or that Reno and Rude are super hilarious. I'm glad someone else thinks that too!
