Topic: The Purple Heart Challenge

Requirements:

1. First and foremost the story can not be named Purple Heart - Please be original.

2. You must indicate in a n Author's Note (A/N) that you are participating in a challenge and who it was set by.

3. Story must be about Haley coming of age and being able to train along side Jake as the other American Dragon.

4. Story must not contain Rose. She may be mentioned, but make no appearances.

5. Story must have at least one of the following lines:

Haley: What's wrong with my flying? I fly just fine.

Jake: Please, you fly like a stuff pig at luau - round and round. You got two wings, use them. I'm tired of seeing you do a Nemo.

Haley: The fish?

Jake: Nah, the hamster.

Haley: I can help. Just let me go with you.

Jake: I can't. This is something I have to do alone.

Haley: But you're not alone. Not anymore!

Haley: Jake's in trouble, and I hate to admit this, but I need help.

Trixie: Haley, I know we've never seen eye to eye, but if my boy Jake is in trouble, know Spud and I got your back.

I'll try, but it is kinda hard to answer it when you don't know how to submit fanfics from Microsoft Word 4.0 to FFN...

That's program saves in .doc, right? Then it should be easy to upload your story. Just do the following:

Press:

Documents

Doc Label (type in anything, it temportary)

Browse (find your story and double click it) - it will then appear under Document Mangager, Edit/Preview if need be.

Then under Documents you'll find Stories. Click on Guildlines, scroll to the bottum and press Yes. Then go to New Story and then place your story in the correct section. . . hmm, did I say easy?

Anyway, I hope that helps.

Problem. I did what you said, but it did NOT appear under document manager. When I tried to do it, i got a message saying...

Empty Document

doc You have uploaded an empty document or there was an error in processing.

I tried to do it three more times, but got the same message all the time.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *rips out hair in frustration*

Hmm, that is weird. Let me think. . .

Okay, sometimes the site has maintance problem where people are unable to unload a story. This could be the case and you may have to wait a few days and try again.

But first. . . Double check your doucument to make sure it's the right one and not empty. If this isn't it, try saving it in a different format. Go to 'Save As' and go to the drop down box called 'Save as type' and pick .rft or any other format that ff.net supports. Then try uploading the story again.

If that's not it, it's the site, and try again in few days or so. Let me Know how it goes.

Okay, I made the changes you suggested.

How do you change the chapter from the old version to the new without having to resubmit it?

Of course you want to go to Log in. Then to the left side click Stories. Go to Edit then Content/Chapters. Click EXP. The next page will give you like to that file, click it then start editing. Make sure you resave it when your done.

Then go back to Stories, back to edit, and back to Content/Chapters. Then go the drop down box that says Replace Chpater and replace it.

Bad news. I deleted Elementa in the hope that I could resubmitt it into my other account on my upstairs computer. Didn't work. So now I have to retype EVERYTHING on my downstairs computer. Which account should I use? The one that I previously used, that I can't update anything, or the one I'm using to post this.

Why do you have to retype. If you don't have anything to save it one why don't you just email the story to yourself? That way all you have to do is copy and paste.

And post on whatever account works. =D

Don't you think I already tried that? My upstairs account is SO screwed up. I tried every way possible to email the stuff to my self, but because my computer hates me it didn't let me. *sigh* At least I can get on the Internet again.
